Cottage holiday rentals in Westmoreland County

The cottage was so cute, the back porch was so cozy and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and everything was clean. The walk to the beach was so pleasant and super close, the hot tub was private and clean. We had a romantic weekend for two but this would be perfect for a young family, for some very relaxing beach time. The host was so gracious and responsive and the location so convenient from DC.

If you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful location to unwind, this is a great place! The home is very comfortable and has everything you could need. But the highlight was the amazing views of the bay from practically every window in the house. We would definitely recommend staying here!

We had a relaxing weekend stay at Dave and Melissa’s place. The views from the screened in porch were beautiful. The surrounding area had a mix of older and newer properties. The little beach was nice. Overall a great place if you are looking for a quiet place to escape to.

Surrounded by trees and the sound of waves- perfect place to relax & unwind. Quick but steep hike to the secret beach. Cool spot and more shell than I expected. Kyli was a responsive host, answered all my questions. Also, recommended Island Hideaway for dinner and it was amazing. Homemade pasta and desserts made in house daily. Great views and delicious foods & drinks.

Hays Beach House was the perfect home base for my group of 10 sailors. We were able to comfortably sleep, relax in the hot tub, and cook enough to feed a small army. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well stocked, and the sunrises here are stunning. Tim is a friendly and helpful host and overall the experience was nothing but pleasant.

The house is amazing; it is right on the water. We had a great time. There is not much around to visit, so if you like to dine out, it might not be your perfect place. But for a family weekend/week to relax and have fun, I 100% recommend it.

The house is cozy and comfortable with plenty of different areas for seating, congregating, eating, reading or just chilling. The property is private and surrounded by beautiful scenery with lots of wildlife to watch. The kayaks and paddleboard provide the opportunity for lots of exploring and the water is mostly shallow for swimming, but there is always a strong current to be aware of. We also took inflatables in order to be able to just simply float around all day! Having two bathrooms in the house is such a benefit and we appreciated having the washer and dryer. There are plenty of utensils, pots, pans, dishes, and small appliances. Just please remember to clean well after use :) This was our second stay here and we will go back again.

I have stayed here multiple times and it never disappoints. This is conveniently located to everything Needed while visiting colonial Beach. This is a beautiful property that is in pristine condition.

This is our yearly spot to visit for our family beach trip, and it again did not disappoint. IMO this home provides one of the best values you will find, with a full kitchen, multiple bedrooms, and plenty of room to spread out. It is also walkable to the beach and restaurants, and the hosts treat us (and everyone) like family. Just book it and you won’t regret it!

Great place- right next to the golf cart rentals which was amazing! Seven minute walk to everything. Would definitely stay here again it was a lovely trip!

LOCATION is 5 stars. Quiet neighborhood just steps to a private piece of beach just for the cottage. All the downtown fun is a 15 minute walk away.

My bf and I celebrated our first year anniversary there and it couldn’t have been a more perfect spot for us. We loved the views, restaurants, locals, fishing, and looking for beach glass. We felt right at home. Lee was a great host and very personable. We were sad to leave and definitely will be returning! We definitely fell in love with the area!

It was a great place to come back to after a long day out. Very clean and we appreciated being able to cook breakfast and dinner with the really nice pots and pans. It was also a nice neighborhood for taking our dog on walks in the morning and evening.

We loved Kathy's place! It's a very short walk to the beach, the playground, and all the shops and restaurants including the Pink Poodle for ice cream, which our daughter really enjoyed. Kathy's communication was great before and during our stay, and her house was very easy to find and access because of her clear directions. We also really appreciated the fact that there were pack n plays and plenty of kids toys, colored chalk, etc. to keep the little ones occupied. The only thing missing was a bathtub for the kiddos, but we made do with a plastic tote from the general store. Aside from that, 10 out of 10, would definitely recommend Kathy's place for any other families with young children. Thanks!

Denise was very accommodating and we were grateful to be able to bring all of our dogs on the trip with us.

The home was perfect for our guests visiting from out of the country on extended stay. They loved their time here. Jackie was super helpful and responsive. We will be keeping this place in mind for housing out of town guests coming through in the future!

Great little beach cottage for couples and small families - clean, comfortable, and close to the beach and the amenities in Colonial Beach. The hosts were great with communication and the pictures and description were accurate. We'd definitely consider staying here again for our next CB getaway!

As always, just an awesome getaway! The minute I pull up to the cottage and look out at the water, any stress just disappears. I’ve been coming here for a number of years and Angela and her cottage are second to none!! Angela is a wonderful host and provides great directions and recommendations and the cottage is just perfect. Thank you Angela for having this little gem!!!

My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was perfect for our family. The location was great. The cottage smelled clean upon entering and we were thrilled by the cleanliness of the entire cottage. We appreciated all the amenities provided. As we were returning to the cottage one day, Eddie stopped by to ask if everything was ok and to let him know if we needed anything. We also enjoyed getting to know the neighbors nearby as we sat on the beautiful porch with beautiful flowers and landscaping. We definitely would love to return in the near future!

My friends and I immediately felt relaxed and cared for in this delightful home. We loved that it was right on the water and that we could enjoy seeing the Potomac River from so many rooms. The beds were very comfortable. Sue is a thoughtful and very pleasant host. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Linda’s beach house is a real gem. The house is beautiful and clean. Has great views of the river and a large sand beach. I can’t wait to visit again

quiet get away spot- very quiet. No direct access to sand/water; just a view - (we knew that going in)- you have to walk a little to get a small little public beach area...but thats not why we went. Just to get away for a weekend from city noise; the place was great. walked dog off leash.
