Opende lies in the Friese Wouden The airBNB is located in our yard on the border of Groningen and Friesland. Walking and cycling can be done in the nearby nature reserves of Alde Feanen, Bakkeveen, Beetsterzwaag and Lauwersmeer. A day in Ameland or Schiermonnikoog is also great to do. Culture can be gained in Groningen, Leeuwarden and Heerenveen (about 25 minutes). Surhuisterveen is about 2 km away and has a shopping center with supermarkets, restaurants and all kinds of shops. You must arrange breakfast yourself.

Close to Groningen in nature. With Sauna and gym

Welcome to Klein Nienoord, staying in a beautiful farmhouse from 1905 close to Groningen. The house has its own entrance and garden and is fully equipped. The luxurious sauna is a nice place to relax and if you want something more active you can use the gym. Within walking distance is the entrance to the Nienoord estate where you can take a beautiful walk. We have bicycles for rent to explore the area. Good to know: we do not provide breakfast. You do have your own kitchen with an oven.

A little shack.

In addition to our monumental farm on the yard, this small accommodation is easy and not too expensive to stay in. Sanitary facilities and a common area are located in the farmhouse. The estate borders the Nienoord estate. Here you can hike and bike. The village is within 2 minutes walking distance. A village where you can enjoy shopping and have a choice of several restaurants in the evening. The city of Groningen is 15 minutes away by car/bike 1 hour and 20 minutes by public transport.

Back in time with the comfort of today. And you sleep in one of three bed cities! There is underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove. You have a private entrance and you can also use a seat under a centuries-old linden tree. The cottage has a kitchen/entrance. A living room and a shower/toilet room. Next to the former Wierde museum on the Torenstraat in Ezinge is the former Green Cross building. What used to be the "consultation agency", we converted into a fully-fledged apartment. There we offer a spacious living room with lots of light, a bedroom with a comfortable double bed, a bathroom, a kitchen, a toilet and a ‘private’ entrance. Please note: Basically no breakfast! You are welcome in our cozy apartment that is very centrally located in the north of the Netherlands. The apartment is located 15 minutes from the city of Groningen. The Westerkwartier is characterized by the beautiful scenery. The provinces of Drenthe and Friesland are just around the corner. In a half hour drive you will find the Lauwersmeer area from where the boat leaves for Schiermonnikoog.
