Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Washington County

Claire’s beautiful cabin was a beautiful spot to relax and get away for the weekend. My dogs and I were attending an agility trial in Waterbury VT and Claire’s cabin was a perfect place to rest. It was within a half hour of several nice hiking trails as well. I loved to quiet and views so much that I skipped out of dinner with agility friends so I could get back, relax and watch the sunset. Claire was very responsive and the homemade soup and cookies she left were not just a nice touch, but were delicious as well! We will definitely be back!

Mary Ellen was an excellent host! I was up in Vermont with a friend, and the apartment was in a nice quiet location conveniently located between Stowe and Waterbury. The apartment itself was spacious, comfortable, quiet very clean, with a beautiful back yard. Mary Ellen checked in with us when we arrived, during our visit, and then was nice enough to return via the mail, one of my shirts that I managed to leave behind! I offered to pay for the postage, but she said it was no big deal, and I had it back a couple of days after I got home! Absolutely a gem of a place and host! Would definitely recommend!

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Ed's place in Waterbury! The house was cozy and clean, and nicely tucked away in the woods. While it was uncharacteristically rainy on the weekend we visited, the location was nonetheless gorgeous and very peaceful. Thanks to Ed's detailed instructions and recommendations, check-in was streamlined, and we were able to enjoy some of the local spots around Waterbury and Stowe. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Ed as a host!

My stay was exactly what I needed. I would actually say the pictures don’t do the space justice! It’s far bigger than depicted in my opinion. I was very comfortable and felt at home when I was there. It was really nice to enjoy walking around Montpelier with Mary Beth’s home as my access point. Very grateful for my stay in this sweet not so tiny home!

Cozy cabin with beautiful surroundings. Very clean and very welcoming. Had everything we needed! If you visit during the summer months, opening the windows at night/early morning will cool everything down. Would love to come back during the fall!

Dawnside is just as beautiful in person as in the photos. We had a wonderful time and appreciated the views, privacy, and cleanliness of the property. Erich is a great host and the house manual is detailed and useful. We would visit again!

The house was ideal for our visit- spacious, clean, and cozy. It was conveniently located near some of our favorite restaurants and breweries. Terry was an excellent host, adding thoughtful touches that made our stay even more comfortable. We highly recommend this little hidden gem!

Staying at Gail's place was a treat. I came durring the off-season which was quiet and peaceful. Most of the resort area is closed outside winter and summer but there is a small market open during the day for convieniences. It's also a short drive away from many small towns. Standouts were Stowe and Waterbury which were wonderful to visit. There are so many trails to checkout in the area. Hiking up the mountain just outside the apartment is great and has an amazing view at sunset. Camels hump and various trails in the notch were awesome. It was even close enough where I took a day trip into the White Mountains. I stayed for 27 days. Durring the week I work remotely. The internet was enough for large conference calls with video during the day and I had no issues. In the evening there is a noticible slowdown. The Wifi is shared throughout the resort. The kitchen was easy to work with. And when you open the balcony door there is a small stream that offers fantastic white noise.

Very tranquil place, very clean shower, comfortable bed, great amenities, lots of magazines and easy to use television. Very short distance from Montpelier. Nice bird variety, lovely flowers, you can hear the river from the apartment. Bridge is cool, river bank is fun, chairs outside.

Chad was an incredible host! He was extremely accommodating with any requests we had. The views from his place are breath-taking! We enjoyed snowshoeing from the backyard onto trails in the woods. I fell in love with his cat who visited daily! He kept the driveway plowed and salted in a timely fashion. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend his place!

Bottom line: I would stay here again. The place is cozy and tidy. Carmin made obvious efforts to make the place welcoming. It’s a good location that’s removed from the congestion of the village center, but you can get there by car in 5 minutes. You can walk out the door and go for a hike. Water pressure in the shower is good. Carmin provides lots of local recommendations. Netflix readily available. Coffee and welcome snacks given. Heater heats up place quickly. If you’re a light sleeper, bring ear plugs as you can hear any car pass at night. The place is older, and as such has houseflies. They’re being managed, but it’s a little surprising at first. The place is clean. I didn’t find vent fans for the kitchen or bathroom, but there are windows close. The bed is fairly comfortable, on the softer side, but the pillows are noisy. The cookware is a little beat up (missing handles), but functional. We did not use the washer or dryer. Overall good stay.

We had a wonderful time staying at Mike and Amy's place. There was so much to do locally and to be able to come back to a comfortable place every night was great. We truly appreciated their hospitality and friendliness and would most definitely come back here and recommend this place to our friends.

This is such a great spot. Everything in the description and photos is accurate. I could tell that Nicole really cares about making this a good experience because of the little things. E.g., there's a pizza cutter; the Britta and ice trays were full on arrival; the sheets are 100% cotton; the kitchen had a lot of spices and other cupboard items; no fewer than three ways to make coffee; and much more. It's also extremely quiet. There are some friendly long-term tenants on the ground floor whom at no point could I hear in the unit. I bumped into Nicole in the hallway one day — she's extremely nice and friendly! She showed me the 2-BR across the hall, also adorable. You will be glad you stayed here!

Beautiful space for a lovely stay. Very clean and so comfortable full with great attention given to thought and focus to every detail and design. Great hosts for excellent communication. Perfect location for a delightful stay in Vermont.

Our fourth time staying in this unit; it really is a perfect jumping-off point to enjoy what Stowe has to offer. Great little space, ideal location right downtown, and an easy check-in/check-out process. Always glad to come back!

My husband and I stayed in National at 1854 House and we loved it! It was exactly as described, and Sarah was a terrific host. Everything was very clean, she was quick to respond, left detailed instructions about all the unit had to offer, and even gave us some local recommendations. The bed was comfortable, the view was great, and the swing in the living room was a wonderful extra touch. The location was perfect for exploring all of northern Vermont. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. We would absolutely stay in National again. Definitely recommend!

Very clean,modern and cozy place to stay. Not a large space - you're not going to spread out much - but quite clean, top notch kitchen, bath and appliances. well cared for. Excellent communication with hosts. super location.

Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! The place is exactly as listed but even more stunning in person. We felt right at home! It is clear Josh has thought of everything. All of the little touches and amenities are well thought out. We easily fit our group of 9, with plenty of space for everyone to hang out and relax. Josh was a great host and very friendly and easy to communicate with. I would certainly rent this space again and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway to Stowe!

This was my second stay at Tom's place at Sugarbush. Location is top notch. Well situated on the mountain. Ski on Ski off (short walk to the trail) but walkable, even with kids. Its a great location nearby a few restaurants and Mountainside Ski Shop. Parking is easy. Loading in & out very easy. Its very comfortable, clean, and the kitchen is well stocked with anything you'll need to cook while you're there. Bonus, upstairs bedroom window has a great view of the mountain. I would gladly stay there again & again.

Philip was very informative and responsive when we needed. His information was clear and easy to follow. At the end of our stay, when we went to dispose of our trash, we saw a bear at the dumpster bins and he was completely understanding that we couldn’t dispose of it at that time. He had a great sense of humor and made the experience all around great!

Want to stay in the heart of the town/Stowe? This is the place! Your own designated parking spot. Very close to many eating/drinking establishments...did I say VERY close? Sure, this may equate to as mentioned low-level early-morning sounds from the Bakery/Cafe below so simply rise and shine or pack accordingly! I didn't mind it at all and even if I did, one bite of their maple syrup croissant and all is forgiven! Affordable and Jesse's refund "peace of mind" policy were surely deal makers. BTW, The Black Cap Coffee & Bakery folks and their offerings rule! Actual DARK ROAST coffee...I made sure to purchase a bag of those beans to take home. The restaurant directly out our bathroom window, Cork, was superb in all aspects. Glad we decided to go there the first night.
