Our lovingly renovated stone cottage sits at the edge of the ancient forest of Montrichard, in the Loire Valley. A Haven for the 21st century tourist, looking for the same amentities and peaceful atmosphere that brought the royality to the region.
“Our week’s stay at Karen & Craig’s gorgeous stone cottage in the French countryside was just divine. Peaceful and calming in a cozy, welcoming space with special little loving touches that were much appreciated like fresh flowers/herbs, candles, beautiful linens, soaps, market baskets etc. The kitchen with ceramic stove top, microwave, sink, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, coffee makers, bottle openers, good sharp cutlery, bread boards, bbq etc had everything you need to put together a great meal from the produce at the local markets. We slept so well as there was only the sound of the early roosters & birds sweetly chirping in the distance to wake us. To leave the windows open at night and feel the cool breezes was wonderful. Deer wandered onto the property occasionally which was a beautiful sight. Also the hot air balloons in the distance were amazing. The cottage was easy to find with the help of GPS. Check-in was seamless with a wonderfully warm welcome and information available about what to do around the area. And guess what we did? Go visit the Royal Castles of the Loire Valley - just like stepping back in time! Only a short drive away, we managed to visit about eight in the week while we were here. Oh and the wine! The local Gamay was delicious and Karen provided us with a bottle to start our week. Along with a few lovely additions to the fridge... little pastries, fresh ground coffee, orange juice, milk, butter and confitures for our first few petit dejeuners. The linens and towels (including pool towels) provided were excellent. The cottage very private and the pool area semi-private and shared with the hosts; we tried not to monopolise it all day, but as it was so hot we couldn’t help ourselves. Thank you so much, we loved the experience!”
If you like the atypical, you will not be disappointed. Welcome to our micro gîte, the cottage Tana. In the native tongue of my husband, Sango, Tana means turtle. It is indeed an old vaulted cellar that we transformed into a small studio. It makes 22m2 on the soil but 15 m2 law Carrez. We have optimized the space for you to have a pleasant time. Before booking, be sure to read the ad in detail. If the adventure tempts you, contact me!
“We stayed at two in Vanessa's Tana studio. She and her husband were very friendly and hospitable and we immediately felt at home in this unusual accommodation. The latter has all the necessary equipment, especially as regards the kitchen. A supermarket located 200 meters from the house allowed us to provide food to cook all our meals for the duration of our stay. The accommodation itself is very comfortable and well located as part of a trip around the chateaux of the Loire by bike (which was our case). It is an experience that I recommend at 100 percent!”
