Cozy 1-bedroom home-great Aurora viewing

Cozy 1 bedroom 1 bathroom private home, just outside of town only a couple miles from the airport. Close to great trails for hiking and cross country skiing, but outside of town enough to get a great show from the Northern Lights. Newly updated with a quiet environment, perfect get away. Full size washer/dryer, and all kitchen needs. A beautiful Alaskan property which you can watch float planes land and take off from the private pond across the road. Large windows for great views! Pets Allowed!

Rustic Cabin with trail access

This rustic cabin is located on Chena Hot Springs road, approximately 25 miles from downtown Fairbanks and 30 miles from the hot springs. It has 1 set of queen sized bunk beds, 1 couch, and a full sized bunk above the couch. The cabin is semi dry, meaning that there is cold running water in the kitchen sink but otherwise no indoor plumbing. Outhouse is less than 50 feet from cabin. Coin showers, laundromat, post office and general store are 2 miles down the road. Kitchen is fully outfitted.

WARNING: This cabin is OFF-GRID and DRY. If you dont know what that means, dont fear, I will explain! Aurora Outpost is located on a private 100 acre homestead just 7 minutes from Fairbanks and 5 minutes from Fox, AK. There is NO electricity, lighting is provided by warm lanterns. There is NO plumbing, but there is a small water system and outhouse. I am also available 24/7 to answer any questions about the features of the cabin or to help guests enjoy the cabin to its fullest!

This small cabin has everything needed for a safe, quiet and comfortable home base while you visit Fairbanks. *** Please note that there is a half bath, a sink and toilet, NO TUB or SHOWER! May 2025: The Toyo oil stove has recently been examined and adjusted to respond to a few guests who have mention a fuel smell. While not dangerous, a blocked air exchange vent created an unpleasant smell. All resolved now! ** At times during the winter, AWD or 4WD is REQUIRED.

We built the Rocky Top AirBnB as an Aurora-viewing, winter-loving house: its walls are a foot thick, with radiant floors heated by an environmentally-friendly vegetable-oil boiler. Stayed at this beautiful spot for 2 nights on our road trip around Alaska and wish we could have stayed longer. Some of the highlights: comfy bed, fans in the bedroom, Netflix on the TV, washer and dryer, hot shower, chickens and ducks right outside the door, great location in Fairbanks, quiet, clean, soft towels, and she even provided coffee, laundry detergent and shampoo & conditioner! Highly recommend this place to anyone passing through the area

Cozy cabin in the woods

This was a great quiet place close enough to Fairbanks where you had easy access to anything you needed/wanted. Rackell was very responsive with messages and gave us several local recommendations and advice. I got this place with the northern lights in mind and they did not disappoint. We seen them right from the cabin porch. Everything you need to cook is in the kitchen and having a washer/dryer was a great added item for us as it allowed us to pack lighter. Definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to the area. I will be saving this place to future visits. This cabin was a true alaskan feeling. Also very clean and in order, with a safe feel.

We had an amazing stay at this cabin near Fairbanks—truly exceeded our expectations! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and impressively well-equipped. Built just 3 years ago by the owner, David (a skilled builder), it had everything we needed and more. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, bringing us extra sheets and even fresh eggs from their chickens. They invited us to visit their family farm with goats, chickens, and vegetables—a warm and inspiring environment. They also allowed us a late checkout, which we really appreciated. Outside, there’s a great BBQ and lounge area to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. This is more than just a place to stay—it’s a glimpse into a wonderful way of life. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area!
