I cannot overstate how amazing this place is. I was looking for an escape into the woods and it was exactly what I wanted. The setting of the cottage is stunning, right on the river and surrounded by trees. It feels remote, even though it's only a short walk into the village. The welcome was really friendly, you can tell that the owners are very active in their community and have put together loads of local info. I particularly liked the map of the community forrest which made me feel confident enough to explore walks by myself. The cottage itself is beautifully kept, with everything that you need, and then some. I didn't want to leave.

Emma was a fantastic host! Her house was amazing and we felt right at home! She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and we even had some little extras like access to the garden and a late check out. We want to come back as soon as we can! A perfect weekend away with our best friends and kids. 🥰😍

Fantastic few days at Daisy and James' place, thank you so much for sharing your home. Beautiful and stylish decor with everything you need and loads of cool touches. The kids loved the toys, especially the marble run! The trampoline outside was a huge hit too. Grosmont is a lovely village - we joined the local childrens' Easter egg hunt at the church, explored the impressive castle ruin in the rain(!) and had a lovely pub lunch at the Angel Inn. We would highly recommend and happily stay again, thanks again Daisy and James!

A wonderful place with great views and lots of activities to do around. The property was equipped with all the essentials. It’s a nice place for family as there were lot of toys and fun board games to play for kids. There was a special treasure hunt created by the host which my son thoroughly enjoyed doing. I think finding the treasure was his highlight of this trip all thanks to the host for arranging it. It’s said that we couldn’t use the swimming pool as it’s only from 7 to 5 pm and we were out exploring the nearby places so could never make it back by 5 pm. But I am surely going to book this place again with a larger group just to enjoy the experience ! I highly recommend this place for large families as you would enjoy everything that this place has to offer and would not get bored a bit !

We loved our stay in Cowbridge - our daughters were so thrilled to find the new play equipment and we all enjoyed our swims in the pool. The Quail was well appointed and very comfortable. Our youngest (5) particularly loved the toilet paper flowers and towel swans. Anita made us very welcome, thank you for having us to stay at your beautiful cottage.

Such a lovely place to stay. We only booked for two nights and wish we had been there for longer. Lots of really interesting features (a suit of armour! A harp!) in a well stocked house. Very comfortable beds and sofas, beautiful views (we especially enjoyed all the bird nesting in the eaves), gorgeous interior, starry Dark Skies and nice hosts - what's not to love? Great parking. Wish we could have had a few more nights, to check out the pub just down the road.

Booked for a 50th birthday celebration and reunion. A great time was had by all! Lois was around to meet and greet and the items provided for breakfast was an unexpected but very welcome surprise! Thanks for a great stay Lois!

Such a lovely place for our multigenerational family to enjoy the long weekend together. The highlights were definitely the pool and the large lounge where we spent lots of time together but didn't feel ontop of each other! Richard's excellent communication added to the overall positive experience. We highly recommend this cottage!

Lovely interior and friendly responsive hosts. Grateful for the pastries and coffee provided by the hosts cafe next door.

This was a very spacious home with all the amenities and well-equipped kitchen. The surrounding area is beautiful and has great walks and views nearby. The communication by Natasha was excellent and she even gave perfect suggestions for things to do when asked. We only stayed for one night but this place has everything to stay for a longer duration. Definitely recommend it if you want to explore Brecon beacons.

Honestly one of the best Air BnBs we have stayed in. The place is stunning and the pictures do not do it justice. it has everything you need. Quiet location, easy to park and find. Close to amenities. Kate is attentive and answers any questions and helps. if I could give higher than 5 stars I would. Amazing place ❤️❤️

Jason was friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. The house was lovely, just like the photos. Very clean and comfortable. (Beds were so lovely!). The kitchen was well set up. Location was great for what we needed. All round lovely. Thanks!

We stayed the night the house was very nice and clean and stylish. The location was really good with loads of parking outside the house is actually a lot bigger than the photos. We had a great time and appreciated the tea bags, washing up liquid Which was that thoughtful. I would say it’s a home from home which is what we wanted. Thank you

Great place to spend the night between trips to Cardiff and to Penderyn. The house is sparkling clean, well furnished, easy to find, easy to park. Many usb slots in the leaving room : always helpful. But the surroundings are a bit ugly and there’s nothing much to do at a walking distance. We tried to go for a run in the forest but it was full of wastes.

Very cozy little place for a comfy rest after hiking in the Beacons. Plus, a good supply of boardgames to keep you entertained!

Excellent property and location.

I stayed as a group of 8. Communication with the host was excellent. They extended our check in and out time which meant there was no rush. This truly is a 1970s style house, if you want ultra modern with all the mod cons its not for you but as a novelty stay to celebrate a birthday it provided the unique stay we were looking for in a great location to visit the waterfalls, zip worker and Brecon Beacons. The town is walking distance, where we went for a Weatherspoons breakfast. The kitchen was fully equipped and we managed to cook for 8 without issue, there is an air fryer and a coffee machine which although not 80s themed were appreciated. There is plenty of car parking, we had 3 cars which all fitted on the drive (including a van). Overall a very enjoyable stay thank you x

The photos do not do the Drydock Cottage justice - it is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos and also a lot more spacious. The attention to detail and every element of the design that has gone into the conversion of this building is second to none. The location is also absolutely perfect - so peaceful, tucked away in gorgeous grounds with a view straight out onto the canal and across over the valley to the mountains beyond. I could have sat and watched the world go by, including the families of ducks, all day. The home made goodies were very welcoming and I loved every minute of my stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place for people looking to escape to somewhere unique and peaceful.

Unbelievable! From location, value and tips and tricks to make the most of our stay this place didn't disappoint! Mountains, waterfalls, laughs and jokes it was awesome! With so much for a large family all to do in the property in the eve - we thank you! And will be back

Clean and spotless laminate flooring downstairs, new carpet upstairs, clean linen, equipment, and utensils. Very well equipped. Flexible check-in and check-out. Excellent communication and quick response. Highly recommend it.

We visit Merthyr Tydfil a couple of times a year to go to the Bike Park. Rebecca's Bee at Home house is perfectly located for both the Bike Park and for accessing the town and its leisure / retail park. Lots of space for the three of us, off road parking plus secure bike storage so ticked all of the boxes. Rebecca is very helpful and responsive, and accommodated us when our plans changed slightly.

Had a wonderful stay here, Beautiful house, the balcony made it for us as we were very lucky with the weather, Super helpful host, everything we needed Thankyou so much for a lovely stay would definitely recommend

Mark was great to get in touch with and was helpful . Great house with all the facilities you need. Nicely decorated and nice enclosed garden. Great for couples and families and people visiting the area and near to Tesco , town and Jen Chang’s Chinese takeaway is fab. Thank you
