Our self contained annex sits in a Peaceful & Rural location with stunning countryside views of the bluebell woodlands beyond. Located only 3 miles from the historic town of Henley on Thames and within view of the beautiful National Trust’s Grey’s Court, we are ideally located to explore the local area whilst remaining secluded away from the hustle and bustle . Walkers & bikers are spoilt for choice with footpaths leading from the garden including one that leads to a wonderful local pub.

A relaxing retreat close to the Thames.

The Studio is a self contained space attached to our home. It has an open plan area with a kitchen, dining , sitting and sleeping space as well as a separate shower room. Access is through a private entrance at the front of the house. Purley on Thames is a small village in West Berkshire with good access to Reading, Pangbourne and Oxford by car. The Studio is a 10 min walk away from Mapledurham Lock on the Thames path and there are also some lovely walks through nearby Sulham woods.

Private access, front door leads into living area and patio doors into garden. Fully furnished, sofa bed, desk, tea, coffee making facilities, microwave, iron and free Wi-Fi. Upstairs, ensuite shower room, double bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe and TV. A door to the main house kitchen links the annex and remains locked. We do respect our guests privacy but are available if need be. A short walk from town/train stations and supermarkets, restaurants and pubs located near by.

The house was 'created' in 2020 having originally been part of the village pub - its now part of a redeveloped property which also includes the owners home and a fabulous cafe called Artichoke Cafe The property is right in the heart of the picturesque riverside village of Pangbourne with its fabulous specialist shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. Yet only ten minutes walk gets you to the countryside! The village also boasts a mainline station with direct trains to Paddington.

We are located very near the Royal Berkshire Hospital and University of Reading. We have a bedroom, garden room and bathroom for people to use during their stay (nothing is shared). There is a separate entrance to the guest's accommodation and there is no access to the main house. We have a cat who sleeps in the adjoining room (our utility room), but will not have access when guests stay. There is no breakfast supplied. There is on road parking on weekday evenings and weekends.

Erika’s place felt like a warm hug from the moment I arrived. The check-in process was smooth, and she was always just a message away whenever I had a question. Erika has a lovely way of making you feel like part of the family, which really adds something special to the stay. A delightful bonus was her adorable dog, Monty, who brought so much joy and charm to the experience. I’d wholeheartedly recommend her home to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat not too far from Reading station.

Lovely room and having a private bathroom, not shared was a plus. Very quick and clear communication from Emma whenever I needed to know anything. Ruth was a very cooperative host. She guided me from Canterbury to Reading regarding everything — cab, bus, etc. — as it was my first visit to Reading. The room was very nice and peaceful, and my stay was excellent. I would definitely recommend Ruth to everyone for a pleasant experience.
