The building of the pioneering era was renovated fashionably with plenty of natural materials such as pure cedar, cypress and plaster.We also paid attention to the interior and kitchen utensils so that you can enjoy "living". In the back of the building, there is a forest with a stream, and you can enjoy a walk in search of the blessings of nature, as well as swing hammocks.In the east house by the river, you can enjoy BBQ and bonfires without worrying about the weather. Spruce Cottage is a newly built, private cottage with a comfortable size, built in a quiet location Just 70 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen. You can relax and enjoy the seasonal nature of Echigo-Yuzawa. It has an open dining kitchen, a raised relaxation space, and a spacious upstairs bedroom. Bedding is available for 2 single beds (2 people), 1 double futon (2 people), and 1 single futon (1 person), depending on the number of people booked. Since 5 adults would be cramped, we can only accept up to 5 people, including children (infants). There are many ski resorts within a 10-minute drive, so you can try out various ski resorts depending on the weather, snow conditions, and your mood. Recommendations from spring to fall Yuzawa Fishing Park, river play spots, Nakazato Firefly Village, etc. are very close by. We also book BBQ grill rentals. (Optional 5,500 yen, inquiry required) It's a little bit far from the station and the city center, but It is a 5-minute drive to the supermarket and convenience store, so it is not inconvenient. * Please be sure to read other things to note before booking.

This is a house with a superb view overlooking Lake Nojiri. There are several ski slopes (Myoko, Kurohime, and Masao), about 15-20 minutes away, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy a wood-burning sauna and a stunning water bath. There are no private houses around, so you can also watch music and movies with loud noise. Because it is a house nestled deep in the mountains, we do our best, but there are insects during the warmer months.It snows a lot in winter.In autumn, the leaves are dancing. You must also adjust the fire in the wood stove yourself. It's never an easy home to live in, but with a great view and experience. There is a full counter kitchen with stunning views and condiments and cookers so you can enjoy cooking.(No BBQ equipment)

You rent the entire building, so you don't have to worry about sharing it with others. The house only has a shower, but there is a hot spring nearby. I had a truly wonderful stay with the hosts. They are very kind, energetic and enthusiastic people! They put in a huge amount of effort to show me around the area and shared the beauty of Tokamachi with me. We shared meals together and it was absolutely worth the tiny additional cost, the food is the most delicious home cooking in Japan. It is a spot to take a break from the big cities and to slow down and feel peaceful. Thank you so much for hosting me!

We were looking for a stopover to visit friends in the neighbourhood and had an excellent stay here. Very friendly and well communication and lots of information about the area. They pick you up and bring you to the translation. All very friendly and lovely home feel even if it the room is above a business living room. Nice area to walk around, there is a 7-11 and a beautiful shrine and really old "fire-huts". We had fantastic ramen around the corner. When the rain started they gave us umbrella's. Recommend. Thank you.

Beautiful place next to a pond. The house is big but still very cozy and super-clean! The onsen part is spacious and still private. Hosts were always available and very friendly. Little Poodle Prince made us feel like at home! When you visit during non-Winter time be sure to ask for Kuromoji - excellent tea plant! We highly recommend the place and should we ever go back to Japan, we shall stay at Naomi's and Nori's place again!

Yasuyo collected us from the station without us even asking (it's only a 10 minute walk otherwise!). she was warm and welcoming and explained everything clearly to us. the breakfast was delicious and the Onsen incredible. The room was actually a suite of rooms which made for a relaxing stay! Yasuyo drove us to the monkey park in the morning and even leant us umbrellas. honestly a delightful stay! simply perfect. careful of the hottest bath in the Onsen! it's very very hot!
