Everyone always misses this place. It is located right next to the Staten Island Ferry, but it is down a little cobble side street and the area is being renovated.... the museum is open and is so awesome ! we were given a private tour by the Retired Fire Chief... The Views of the Forgotten Water Front are great for Photographers it's spooky and quiet here with big views.

The National Lighthouse Museum is very much a work in progress on the grounds of the former U.S. Lighthouse Service “Super” Depot on the North Shore of Staten Island.
