Why locals recommend it
An old sandstone post office turned bar and restaurant in Summer Hill has fantastic food, curated wines, and a rotating range of craft beer. Downstairs is a white-tablecloth experience, but upstairs you can enjoy a smoked-brisket bagel with a Colorado-brewed Modus Hoperandi IPA on the balcony. If you’re lucky, there’ll be live music in the background. The staff here knows their stuff, so ask for a food-beer pairing. The chef loves to scratch cook and smoke meats, so consider a smoked dish with an IPA or something else hoppy and bitter to cut through the fat.
Tips from locals
Gorgeous building (restored post office) makes a funky bar upstairs and more upmarket but reasonably priced restaurant downstairs. Upstairs bar has a wide range of quality wines by the glass, boutique beers and cocktails. You can also order food from the bar with some great house specialties including cod croquettes and tasty empanadas.
