Nice coffee and tea shop with a good selection of desserts, a few options for freshly made paninis and salads and a great courtyard patio (away from the traffic and busy hustle and bustle of the market, yet great for people-watching too :)! A great place for a pit stop during your busy visiting days or just to relax with a good book any time of the day.

Located in a pedestrian-only cobblestone street with sometimes art hanging on the building walls, Planet Coffee is sure to offer you all you need in terms of breakfast coffee, croissants, and indoors and outdoors tables to work or read a book. Sometimes Jazz bands play late afternoons in the street alley.

Tucked away in a courtyard of the Byward Market, this cafe is an Ottawa classic. They have a nice patio in the summer time - perfect for people watching :)
