LA21 8DP An easy and accessible circular path round the tarn; less than two miles . A great walk for all the family to enjoy. A Tramper Mobility scooter is available to use also.

Tarn Hows is an area of the Lake District National Park in North West England, It contains a picturesque tarn, approximately 2 miles northeast of Coniston and about 1.5 miles northwest of Hawkshead. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area with over half a million visitors per year in the 1970s and is managed by the National Trust.

A lovely drive out either across Ferry Nab or via Ambleside, both by car. Once there park in the National Trust car park and take a leisurely walk around beautiful scenery. Take a map and extend your walk, a lovely place for a picnic, take your own as there isn’t a cafe or shop there. Mainly stoned paths, so good if wet or has rained recently. (Little or no mud). Toilets in the car park and often an ice cream van.
