Get a feel for what real, blue collar Boston is and was @ Victoria's Diner. One of the few restaurants in Boston with a racially mixed clientele where no one cares what the color of your skin is. Have breakfast next to a trucker who just delivered a truckload of lettuce to Newmarket Square behind the diner or strike up a conversation with one of the salt-of-the-earth waitresses who will make you wait to place your order until you've placed your drink order. Get a foot-tall slice of chocolate cake and take it home in a styrofoam box! Open twenty four hours on the weekends.

24 hours on the weekends. I usually judge a diner based on their meatloaf and Victoria's doesn't disappoint. The real highlight, however, is their 7 layer cakes. I often go just to get a giant slice of carrot cake. Just know that it'll be $7 for a piece of cake that no one should, but can, eat alone.
