Proud Country House and Stanmer Church As well as ths historic Proud Country House, the parkland also houses the knapped flint Stanmer Church. The church in its current flint form was built in 1838, but records of a church on this site date way back to the 13th century. The church is open to visitors every Sunday (excluding Christmas Day when it falls on a Sunday) from 2-4pm during winter and 2-5pm from when the clocks go forward in Spring (around late March). The church is also open to groups by arrangement. Stanmer Nurseries Just past Stanmer House, on the left, you'll discover Stanmer Nurseries within the old walled kitchen garden of Stanmer Park.

Stanmer House a Grade I listed mansion west of the village of Falmer and north-east of the city of Brighton. It stands very close to Stanmer village and Church, within the huge Stanmer Park.

The restaurant is located in the middle of Stanmer Park - not many people know about it. It's a huge country house good for lunch or a coffee. Definitely worth visiting after a walk through the park in the winter when the open fires are burning.

A shabby chic country house set in typical English Park Land. My personal experience is that the food can be variable,I go for the stunning walk and realaxed atmosphere. It's casual dress, no need to dress up. Walk form the annex up the Beacon across the downs and down to Stanmer. 1 1/2 hrs walk.
