The Church of Saint Andrew of Vila Boa de Quires, one of the most elaborate of the lower Tâmega, It was surely founded before 1118 because it was in writings of this time. The facade consists of two takes: the main portal and the window immediately above. This model is similar to the Church of Barrô (Resende) and derives from the see of Coimbra. The window in Manueline style, with tympanum with a opened cross (IE, with a opening to the inside), it is flanked by elongated archivolts, based on columns with carved capitals. The portal has influences of the monastery of Paço de Sousa (Penafiel) with its capitals of vegetal motifs. The present Corbels shaped like heads of oxen as in the Church of the Saviour of the Tabuado. Inside the building the colour of the chancel in contrast to the bare walls of the nave. The triumphal arch, composed of three archivolts, supports capitals where are carved palms and mermaids with intertwined tails. In the chancel, the main altarpiece is neoclassical and the walls are lined with tiles characteristic of the first half of the 17th. century. The set is complete with the dome paintings that narrate scenes of the process and of the passion of Christ whose route ends in the paint on the triumphal arch, on the nave.

Trilhos de Portocarreiro O percurso começa, seguindo a direção dos ponteiros do relógio, nas imediações da Igreja de Santo André de Vila Boa de Quires. Prossegue-se por caminho paralelo à estrada até às emblemáticas Obras do Fidalgo. Este imóvel, também conhecido como casa inacabada de Vila Boa de Quires, é constituído apenas pela fachada principal de um edifício do século XVIII, em ruínas. É considerada uma das mais extensas e imponentes fachadas barrocas da arquitetura portuguesa. Pertencendo à Casa de Vila Boa, dali se avista o solar, o edifício com os seus antigos lagares de vinho e uma grande extensão de vinha. Com marcação prévia, poderá usufruir de uma prova de vinhos premiados da Casa de Vila Boa. Descendo pelas traseiras da magnífica fachada barroca, por um pequeno bosque místico que torna o local num cenário de fábula, prossegue-se por zonas e caminhos rurais onde o verde da vegetação domina e se ouve a natureza, seguindo até à capela de S. Sebastião. Neste trilho, pode fazer-se um pequeno desvio, pela variante do PR para ver a Sepultura dos Quatro Irmãos. O trilho continua por caminhos rurais e tranquilos, avistando o rio Tâmega, em direção à ribeira de Castro, até alcançar uma ponte de madeira. Paralelo ao curso de água encontra-se uma cascata, num recanto de inegável beleza. O trilho prossegue em direção a Maureles e à Igreja Paroquial de Santa Maria de Maureles. Em direção ao lugar da Torre, passa-se o Pelourinho de Portocarreiro, um imóvel de interesse público, símbolo da autonomia do extinto concelho, em 1853. Poucos metros depois do Pelourinho, o trilho passa pela Capela Senhora do Pilar, situada num plano mais elevado em relação ao percurso.
