This spectacular older-growth forest is home to some of the oldest living trees in Ontario and is one of the best remaining examples of Carolinian forest in Canada. Seven public trails covering 21 km are open to the public to enjoy year round. The woods are a great place to hike, snowshoe, cross country ski, birdwatch and just enjoy nature.

The hiking trails at Backus Woods take you through a Carolinian forest, with massive trees and lots of wildlife. It's a great experience at any time of the year.
