Take a walk around the Wildlife centre and have a lovely coffee too. A park for the children, beautiful wildlife on the River and you might be lucky to spot the water buffalo.
Great place to visit with children, with an adventure playground and nature walks. Also lovely walks for all ages in a beautiful wildlife reserve.
The Welsh Wildlife Centre is a fascinating building built primarily of wood and glass. The ground floor houses information about the work of the Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales, the middle floor houses the newly designed gift shop and also an interpretation area, and the top floor has the well known Glasshouse Cafe. Since 2012 there is a construction of a large willow structure on the meadow behind the centre and also a willow maze. There are wide range of habitats to explore including; the river, ponds & reedbeds, dry meadows, wet and dry woodland. A huge diversity of wildlife packed into a small area; particularly the birds, dragonflies, flora and fauna all in one fabulous place. A wonderful opportunity to watch over wintering birds, wetland birds, shy mammals and gorgeous flowers in spring and summer. Species you may see include otter, kingfisher, bittern, hen harrier, lapwing, curlew, brown hairstreak butterfly and hornet robber-fly. A great family day out; with both indoor and outdoor activities, an ever changing list of events to join in on and so much information to help you get the most out of your visit.
