This ruined Cistercian Abbey was founded in the twelfth century. There was once some kind of monastic abode here at Gelly with links to Strata Florida.

The Westminster Abbey of Wales. It is the final resting place for generations of Welsh princes. The great poet Dafydd ap Gwilym is said to be buried under a yew tree.
