Intermediate difficulty (Lots of steep climbing steps) Or called Monk's trail. This is one of the closest hiking trail to Chiangmai town area. Wat Pha Lat is nested in the forest just a few kilometres from famous Prathat Doi Suthep temple. Here is very peaceful and you can enjoy the bird-eyed view of Chiangmai town with less distractions.
The starting point for Hiking up to Suthep Temple(will take about 3 hours hiking). But you can do for short hiking to Pha Lad Temple for about 40 mins. There is hiking group every Saturday morning.
This, to me is a hidden gem in the jungle. Not so many people know this place because it’s hard to find! You’ll have to walk at least an hour (back and forth). Some people called it ‘Monk trail’, there’s a very unique Thai temple located up on the hill at the very end of the trail and you’ll need to go back to the same route. Early morning around 6-8 am. would be an ideal time for trekking this route. Make sure to wear suitable outfits for the trail walk but cover your skin and body since you’ll have to enter to the temple areas (Thai temples do not allow shorts or crop tops) and please bring some water with you to keep out of hydration.
