Take ferry No. 1 towards sunset time and pass through the Grand Canal, if the weather permits, try to go to the seats outside. It's a wonderful experience, if you can't make the gondola ride it's an economic alternative. The ticket costs € 7.50 one way (daily ticket costs € 20)

I suggest you to board on Line Nr. 1 at p. Roma ( 12 min from home) or at Riva di Biasio ( 8 min) and take your cruise on the Canal Grande and then through the Bacin of San Marco till Sant Elena or Lido Island . it Will be amazing 3,8 km of palaces of the most important and rich familys of the past faces this ''road'' .with an historical outline from 13 th century to 18th .
