SUGAR LOAF RESERVE – TARADALE Sugar Loaf Hill (Pukekura in Māori) is a 4 ha reserve that offers spectacular views over Napier, the Heretaunga Plains, the Kawaka and Ruahine Ranges. You can walk from here down Ridgeway Terrace turn left onto Kent Terrace and turn left up Cumberland Rise. cross over the stile and a gate that gives access to the track to the Summit. The first 100 metres are steep but then the path widens and winds around the contour of the hill. There is also a steep direct path to the summit. Go down the summit until you get on Tironui Drive walk up the hill and get over the Stile and walk down Maggie’s track. Once on Kent Terrace walk left until you reach Ridgeway Terrace.
