House holiday rentals in The Old Man of Coniston

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Badgers Rest. The home was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and in a great location. The facilities were amazing nearby too.

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

I'd stay at Jackie's place again whenever I next visit no question. Good price, and the place is exactly as she's described. And whenever I messaged her she always responded back to me within 30mins at most which is excellent

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

Our family had a lovely stay at Burrowbank at the end of the summer holiday. The house is fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for. The kids loved the swings and most of all the pool, while the covered (heated) BBQ area meant evening meals outside watching the sunset. Great location and setting, very private and we would definitely come again and recommend to others. Martyn and Christine were very helpful and went the extra mile (even posting my daughter’s disposable camera that she left behind). Can’t think of any negatives and we made some great/happy memories.

Stunning house with amazing views. Laik were so helpful and gave clear instructions with plenty of notice before arrival. Their digital guidebook was amazing. Would recommend this house and laik to anyone.

stunning cottage nothing around but was central for most of lakes area no power just after we arrived whole area down but not a problem if u want quiet comfy stay this is place beautiful and would highly recommend x

We had a wonderful stay here in Ambleside. The studio apartment was perfect and the ideal place to relax after walks in the nearby area. The bed was very comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. A great location too, a short walk (down/up a hill) into Ambleside with plenty of restaurant choices nearby and lots of places to walk. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Perfect new years location, handy for great walks, restaurants and nightlife. We parked our car and didn’t have to move it for a week. Three lovely big bedrooms each ensuite perfect for three couples. We loved it, especially liked the Thai restaurant close to accommodation and the Badger bar was lovely.

We have just returned home from 4 nights at Julie's ex-guesthouse and we absolutely loved it. We were a group of 5 adults, a 9 year old and 18 month old and there was space for all of us. Each room has its own ensuite and the kitchen is well stocked. The whole place was very clean and the utility room is also massive which helps if you need to do any washing while staying there. We will definitely look to use Julie's place again in the future. Julie replied in good time to any messages and is very friendly. Highly recommend as a great place to get around the Lakes from too.

We had a wonderful stay here and made amazing memories. The surroundings were stunning, and we felt right at home. We loved the cottage and the little touches made the stay even better - the brownies were to die for. Rosie was a great host, and we’d love to come back in the near future.

Frances & Sarah could not have been better hosts. Responded quickly with useful information about parking as we planned on arriving early. Cottage was beautiful, perfect for a family of 4 plus a dog. The kitchen was really big and well stocked with anything we would have needed. The welcome package was a lovely touch, beds were comfy, was quiet and lots of eating out options in walking distance. Plenty of low level or more challenging walks available without driving anywhere. We’d love to come again!

Such a gorgeous stay away in Cumbria, the place was so tidy and cozy, it had everything you could need - so many amenities! It is located inbetween other buildings but still managed to feel very private, and had stunning views around. It is quite remote and is single track roads down to the property however the hosts were really clear and answered any questions about where we can park etc. It is also only a short drive to either Kendal or Windermere, so really convenient location for a nice day out! We can’t thank the hosts enough for such a lovely stay, would definitely recommend ☺️

A very rare find in the lakes! Beautifully presented property which a huge amount of space. A great base for families or small groups of friends keen to explore the surrounding areas. Sarah was a perfect host, helping us with whatever we needed throughout the stay. We’ll do our very best to return!

This is just a stunning place - situated in a beautiful valley with views of the far mountains. House was full of character, all amenities we wanted were there, and just loved being able to walk from the house.

The house has the wow factor. Clean, tidy and you have the use of a hot tub or an amazing bath after a long walk. I would recommend taking a bath robe and flip flops for the spa/hot tub area. Everything you need is in the kitchen. The fireplace is stocked up with wood and heats the whole house and it feels so cosy. The homemade lemon drizzle cake was a treat to take with us on our walks. Dog friendly and a basket of treats for our pup and considering it’s dog friendly the house is kept immaculate. The area is perfect for those that enjoy peace and nature and amazing views. So many walks straight from your doorstep. There is a small post office in the village and Alston town not far away for bigger shops and fuel station. Lovely neighbours with a wealth of knowledge of the area. My husband and I along with our dog had an amazing stay and would definitely go back.

We loved our stay at Easter How, it was perfect for our family get together. The gardens are gorgeous and our daughter's dog enjoyed exploring all the different paths. My dad enjoyed feeding the birds so thank you for providing the food for that too! It really was a home from home, so comfortable with great facilities and in such a tranquil setting. We enjoyed walking to High Dam Tarn a couple of times too, the second time we took the easier route through the field as my parents found the steep climb tough going the first time. Justin (co-host) kept us updated and we had the added bonus of meeting him when he dropped off some coffee beans! We loved staying in this cottage. We were there with 4 kids and had everything we needed. It’s super cosy, well equipped with all we needed and perfectly located to access all Staveley amenities and go on walks. Have already booked to stay there again!

We had a wonderful week at Judith's relatively spacious and perfectly located accommodation. Within walking distance of shopping and dining, Orrest Head and the lake for a cruise. Picturesque and quiet street, and we had no trouble with parking. Would happily stay there again. Even with the rain!
