Fortunately, in my fairytale house (a national monument from 1621), there is still much of the history in tact; the high anteroom, the low old first floor (beware of your head) and the beautiful niches. Parts of the house are even from the 14th century and have survived the great city fire in that century. The house is located on a quiet street a stone's throw from IJssel and the best restaurants that Deventer owns.
