Cottage holiday rentals in Summerville

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time. The cabin is very private and yet only a five minute drive to the town of Alma and some great restaurants (we highly recommend the Muddy Rudder). Great hiking trails nearby in the national park as well. It was paradise. Completely surrounded by trees and the sounds of all the little birds. The cabin has absolutely everything you would need and more and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We loved the hot tub. Would highly recommend the cabin.

Booked well in advance with great communication with Stephanie & Peter. Once there was blown away because the pictures truly do not do it justice. The space was beautiful, clean and organized, it was amazing having lots of plates, utensils, condiments, lots of towels and blankets available. The hot tub was full and clean. The view was just so stunning to wake up to every morning. It was very peaceful! I will be rebooking. Thank you Stephanie & Peter for the hospitality and allowing us into your space to celebrate our anniversary. Truly exceptional!

We had a lovely stay at Melanie's cottage. The cottage was very spacious, clean and had absolutely everything that we needed. (bottle of wine was a nice touch) Melanie was very responsive to our questions and responded right away. The cottage is on a busy street but is relatively quiet when you are on the beautiful front deck. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the area.

We had an excellent time at Birchwood. The cabin is cozy and clean and the property is well maintained. The location is incredible, right on a beautiful lake with lots of privacy. The owners are friendly and accomodating. Can't recommend enough.

Joseph’s place is a charming cottage situated a short drive from downtown Halifax, extremely close to grocery stores. It sits on a picturesque cove with unobstructed views of the rugged landscape and water. The cottage has every amenity one could want, including a hot tub. My husband and I enjoyed sharing a glass of wine under the stars while listening to the waves crashing on the rocks. Our family enjoyed sharing time together in the living areas and preparing a meal together in the well equipped kitchen. The beds were incredibly comfortable! We wish we had stayed longer to enjoy all the hiking trails and sightseeing in the area.

Beautiful secluded little gem, very quiet and private without feeling isolated. Host Sara was clear and fast in response and was there if we needed her without being over involved, exactly what we want on a holiday. WiFi worked like a charm (I know, what's a cabin in the woods without being glued to your phone!) and the hot tub was an absolute treat. Dog friendly, my pups enjoyed exploring and sitting under the shade of the trees. Beach was close and Windsor just a short drive away. Excellent location and we would definitely stay again.

Jessica and Adam were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Everything was easy and relaxing. Jessica quite responsive and helpful; she went above and beyond. Although we did not partake during this visit, the ocean saltwater hot tubs looked amazing! Outdoor fire pits/apparatus with outdoor seating also a bonus. The site is on the ocean with a lovely private sand beach with provided lounge chairs. There is a wharf-type breakwater on the property, which was lovely.

What a fantastic find! This cottage is well-equipped, comfortable, gorgeous surroundings, and we felt right at home. It was perfect for us and we can't wait to go back!

We loved staying at Kim's place with our two dogs. It is adorable and compact, but with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location cannot be beat, - right at the heart of the working fishing marina and the Fundy tides, walkable to sea caves at low tide, historic homes, the cutest shops, covered bridges and more - a postcard shot in every direction. The only slight downside of the location is some noisy traffic such as motorcycles going past during the day, but it dies down in early evening to be quite peaceful. Kim was a responsive and helpful host, and we would absolutely be back again. St. Martins was the perfect stop on our vacation, and also makes a good base for the Fundy Trail. And this cottage is a prime location for experiencing all of it!

Great place with an outstanding hosts. Instructions were simple and clear. View of the water is beautiful with lots of wildlife in the area. Plenty to do or not to do if you choose.

lovely remote place to unwind

Beautiful location, great place, and <15 minutes to restaurants and shops. We stayed with our family of 4 and truly enjoyed every minute!! The house has the most breathtaking views- you can see both sunrise and sunset at this time of year (June). Thoughtful items throughout the house, including puzzles and fun books and extremely clean linens. Also, I appreciated the windows and curtains for privacy, if needed. Thank you so much!

Unfortunately, due to health circumstances, we were unable to stay at Shelly’s place. However, communication with Shelly was excellent, she is very compassionate and understanding, and I look forward to staying at her place in the future.

Rob and Jacquie responded to our every question with professionalism and positivity. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed the lake the outdoor fire pit,the view, the kitchen. We had an awesome stay — it is a beautiful home, very clean, with everything you need for the stay. It is a beautiful private location on a lake, very peaceful and relaxing. Danny and Lynn were super responsive to all my messages, and everything was as stated in the listing. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay, the place is special. We had deer come right into the yard and the fireflies, at night, in the back field, was an unexpected and fantastic experience! Thank you so much, we cant wait to come back!!

Nancy and Darren’s place was a slice of paradise. Our 2 big dogs, my husband and myself loved our time at the Red Door Barn. We started our mornings at Louis Head beach, located a short 5 minutes car ride. We had the beach for ourselves and our dogs loved playing fetch on the beautiful stretch of sand. The Red Door Barn is impeccable and Nancy thought of every little detail. It’s beautifully decorated. Extremely clean. And just perfect. We loved the extra dog friendly touches such as the doggie treats, the water bowl, the blankets and the big basket near the door full of little surprises. The kitchen is fully equipped. We cooked Lobster from the Wharf several times during our 12 nights stay. I highly recommend staying at The Red Door Barn. We can’t wait to come back.

If you like peace and quiet and are also into hiking & biking this location has it all. The Cape Split trailhead is walking distance and Blomidon Provincial park and its lookouts are not far away. Walk can I say about the cycling. In the daytime the roads are dead quiet with traffic (everything ends at Cape Split) and it's serious hill climbs in the area. There are also wineries to visit for those who like the "sip & cycle" rides. And of course the Scots Bay tide was a marvel to behold. Head down to the water's edge via Wharf Rd. for a walk at low tide. As someone else commented, the prices for meat & seafood at Sam's groceries in Canning are very reasonable. Our accommodation was spotless and well appointed. It was true to it's pictures and description. The hot tub really helps with the rejuvenation after hiking & biking. We would definitely stay again and further explore the area.

Our family had a great stay. Absolutely beautiful view. The sunsets and sunrises were stunning. Using the kayak and canoe was a lot of fun. It was the perfect end of school year getaway 🙂

Ian's place was exactly as described. Everything was wonderful. Was peaceful and relaxing and they communicated when we had one small.ossur and came out and fixed the problem with a hour. The house was in easy driving from a lot of tourist places which was great. Thanks so much for sharing your place with us.

Our stay at Seafarers Hideaway was a truly memorable experience. The property has one of the most beautiful views we have ever encountered and it is extremely well appointed. They have thought of everything guests will need to have an enjoyable stay. The kitchen and pantry are very well stocked as well as the bathroom. We absolutely loved the fireplace and enjoyed most evenings by the fire. When weather permitted we enjoyed the outdoor fire area and used the bbq most nights. The muskoka chairs are perfectly situated on various parts of the property and we enjoyed looking at Peggy’s Cove with the binoculars provided. We would highly recommend this property as it is an hours drive to Halifax, Lunenberg and Peggy’s Cove, with much of the drive along the ocean. We would love to return someday and treasure our first experience in Nova Scotia at Seafarers Hideaway. Krista and Ken
