What a great place to just relax and unwind. It was so quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. Kim and Ken are amazing hosts. They have all the details laid out for their guests in a very organized book. There are so many things included in your stay making it lighter for us to pack. They welcome pets which is a huge plus. They were there for checkin to make sure we knew how to operate everything and available for any questions. Great fishing even in August. I would highly recommend this remote, private property.

Very clean and organized, well stocked with basic essentials. Easy check in, quick response from owner. On-site manager stopped in to check to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Would not hesitate to stay again.

We had an excellent family winter weekend getaway! We did some ice fishing, snowmobiling and skating/hockey down the road at the local ODR. The cottage was a great spot for our family and we will definitely go back and would love to try it in the summer months. Thanks for sharing your cottage with us!

Thanks for a lovely stay! The lake is pristine and the dock is fantastic! The host was extremely responsive and willing to help whenever he can. Please note that this is very much camping and to pack accordingly.

The value you get for your stay is well worth the experience and location you get. While the trek to the location is very out of the way, it's incredibly beautiful scenery and a well stocked cabin. Always responsive and cares for the guests. The only downside is I can't give more than 5 stars for the value you get from the location and host's accommodation.

Very welcoming host. Space was comfortable and had everything we needed. The sauna was an awesome addition. View was beautiful. Very peaceful area. Other guests in the area but everyone is very peaceful and respectful. Will stay again!!! Bed was super comfortable!

Review: The tiny house was cozy and well-designed, with two comfortable queen beds—perfect for a couple or close friends. The sauna was a great feature and heated up nicely. The kitchen is small and doesn’t have a full stove/oven, but the hot plates and convection oven worked well for cooking. A clean and relaxing spot for a getaway!

Bowhey’s is such a special place. All the amenities, clean cabins, staff is always busy working on something to make it even more beautiful. Ian is so great and laid back. Saturday night karaoke should not be missed! We will definitely be back.

Ian is a great host very friendly and professional. Amenities are well kept from the swimming pool to the fish cleaning hut, you can buy even premium gas for your boat and enjoy a Saturday evening karaoke. Definitely we will come back again.

My first time experiencing cottage life. Ian and his family are good hosts. My children loved Ian. This resort felt very safe. The people that were there were very kind and friendly. it was not overwhelming, it was just right. You do have to bring your own pillows and linen. My suggestion, bring a fan. keep you cool at night. There is hot water. Karaoke night was a lot of fun. no judgement. Ian has a big variety of music. If you are coming from the GTA, you are looking at about 5 to 6 hours of travel time depending on traffic. We didn't get to do the trails because our kids wanted to swim in the pool all day. However, there are trails around the area. Canoeing was a lot of fun and the paddle boards were a challenge but a lot of fun too. There is fire wood present for you to use if you want to make a bonfire. There is a convenience store down the street. They sell essential groceries, beer, liquor, first aid and hot food. Some of his cabins have a really good view of the lake.

My family and I had a nice cozy experience staying on Ian's yacht. We relished the lake views, the dock, the stars, and the sunset, as well as the opportunity to cast our fishing line directly off the bow.

My 5-year-old daughter and I were on a road trip and we booked this very last minute. it was definitely the highlight of the trip and wish we would have stayed a couple of extra days. the water was beautiful in the evening with the sunset.

Ian's place is as described. His boat is clean, and the resort is well organized. He is one of the few hosts that is actually on-site, to help with anything needed; he is also very accommodating and easy-going. I didn't think there was actually going to be a karaoke night, as it had been described in the other reviews, but there was one. The whole area is conducive to a relaxed state of mind. my son and I enjoyed staying here and will very likely come back for some good fishing. Yes, we caught fish too, which was a plus.

Came in October. The instructions on how to find the A frame cabin were clear. It was a bit tricky to find but thankfully Jen’s instructions led us straight there without getting lost. Check in was super easy as we arrived just as it was getting dark. We woke to a beautiful vista right on the water. Everything around the cabin was serene and quiet. No loud neighbor or kids in the vicinity. Very private with own beach and kayaking included. Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals at home. Bedding was supplied, mattresses were very firm but comfortable. Cabin itself was extremely spacious with huge windows and large back deck. Dining table inside and outside. Even a screened dining area close to the water in addition. Sandy area for a game of horseshoes, fire pit, new BBQ with utensils and plenty of parking. We had a wonderful peaceful experience and hoping to come back when the water is a bit warmer. Price was one of the best on the island for this season! Thank you Jen!

Sylvie is a great host, easy to communicate with and quick response to answer our questions. This place is amazing, bed was very comfortable, kitchen was fully loaded with essentials and a lot of extras. The layout is awesome, open concept with the view on the lake. The yard is huge with a nice fire pit, lots of room to play game. We also brought our boat and went fishing, we caught nice bass. Lots of small animals; like all kinds of birds, squirrels and chipmunks to entertain us. There are nice bush trails all around the property. We will be book again. This is the best airbnb we booked so far. 5 ++++++++. Thanks again Sylvie

We had a fantastic stay at Vee’s Cottage so my children and I could celebrate my mom’s 90th year of life. We were looking for somewhere quiet in nature that was accessible inside and out and this place was perfect. I hope for a return visit. This place is stunning and has every imaginable amenity. At the top of my list of Airbnb stays.

Second time staying at Jeanie’s cabin, and it was just as perfect as the first! The cabin is cozy, spotless, and well-stocked with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Jeanie is an incredible host—responsive and thoughtful. Highly recommend to everyone.

I felt at home from the time we entered the property. The cottage was very spacious and had a lot of natural light coming in. The sunroom/ living room was my favorite. You felt even when you were inside, you were still connected to the outside with all the windows. Outside it had a large deck, with a covered portion, and step down you could sunbath. The lake side was amazing, having crystal clear water and paddle boards, kayaks and a canoe. If that wasn’t enough, there was an amazing sauna that also had windows that allowed you to see the kids swimming in the lake. Bridal veil falls and the cup and saucer trails are really close by, which makes this property amazing. I will definitely book this property again.

Great place to stay if you are alone or just a couple looking for a getaway. Stayed here while working in Kirkland Lake.
