Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Stow-on-the-Wold

What can I say about this wonderfully quaint and quirky cottage that hasn't already been written? Probably nothing, but once you've picked your jaw up off the floor it's impossible to not be totally besotted by this hidden gem nestled in the heart of the English countryside, the pictures really don't do it justice. Our initial exploration of the spotless interior was way beyond our expectations, it's simply stunning and is the perfect blend of old and new. Everything we needed was provided and the comprehensive notes provided by Sue were more than adequate in providing clear directions and instructions for the various appliances, etc. Our stay surpassed our expectations in every way possible, if you've ever wanted to stay in an authentic cottage with a truly spectacular garden and doorstep access to to miles of public walkways look no further. Finally, a huge thinks to our wonderfully responsive host Sue for offering this property on Airbnb, very, very highly recommended.

We loved the Little Forge! Such a nice cottage and would highly recommend for anyone after a peaceful Cotswolds getaway. Bledington is beautiful and the village pub on the green is only a 2 minute walk.

Tom was an amazing host, the accommodation exceeded our expectations and was a truly relaxing and peaceful retreat. The accommodation is very spacious, with a well equipped kitchen and is extremely cosy. We will be back!

Modern apartment 10 minute walk from shops and restaurants. Street parking wasn’t a challenge. Communication with host was ok. We had a problem with the shower drain, and they fixed it within a few hours. Everything works properly. Bed was comfortable, but as with all airbnbs in UK/Europe, a bit small by US standards. The bathroom was cramped, and the shower was tiny. Seniors might find the shower a challenge. The stairs to the bedroom were narrow. Not difficult for climbing alone, but a bit of a challenge with luggage. In June with temps of about 18 degrees Celsius, the bedroom was comfortable despite lacking air conditioning, but I’m not sure how it would be in the heat, if it ever did get hot in the UK! In short, the place might pose challenges for seniors but is a good option for others.

Mark was an excellent host. He was proactive in regard to accessing the property and asked well ahead of time about our preferences in relation to food items he provided. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils and provisions ( one of the best 'welcome packs' we have had - milk, wine, grapes, bread, cheese, tomatoes, jam ). And lovely to have an induction cooktop. There was an ample supply of maps, brochures and books about the local area and the wider Cotswolds. The dining table looked out over a lovely back garden. A comfortable bed in a good sized bedroom. All in all a very comfortable stay and a great host. The home is in the 'suburbs' of Winchcombe making it easy to access with a car from all directions and it is only a 10-15 minute walk into town. But it is in a modern estate, not classic old Cotswolds stone if that is important.

We had a lovely few days at Bakery Cottage. Such a beautiful location and within a short drive from most of the places you’ll need to get to in the Cotswolds. The cottage was perfect for our needs, we felt at home from the moment we stepped inside.

The accommodation is situated directly on the main road but, as per the clear instructions, is accessible from the back which is quiet and away from the Main Street. The house is immaculate and decorated to a very high standard, with the only issue being, WE DIDNT STAY LONG ENOUGH!!! Go out the front entrance and everything is within a few minutes walk. Alternatively, it is a great base for visiting the surrounding area. Gemma was always responsive and clarified anything we asked, not that there was much to ask. Gemma’s place is a five star recommendation which we strongly suggest you book for your stay, but stay longer than we did so you aren’t disappointed!!

We loved our stay at The Old Post Office. Elizabeth was a great host and made us feel welcome and right at home. The location in Broadway can’t be beat and we would recommend Elizabeth’s home to anyone wanting a great base to explore the Cotswolds.

Lovely place to stay to explore Cotswolds. Clean and peaceful. Just a few walks away from the well-known Arlington Row. Anne is very nice to provide us breakfast. Easy and smooth check-in and check-out also.

Lovely stay at this Airbnb, would recommend. Used as a base to visit friends. Peaceful neighbourhood and walkable to things of interest. Bed very comfy and Julian was a great host!

Maureen was the perfect host. She met us on arrival and gave us all the info we needed. She was close by if required but not intrusive. The annexe was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is ideal for exploring The Cotswolds and Moreton in Marsh has all the shops, pubs, coffee shops and restaurants anyone could need, all in walking distance. We would happily recommend this accommodation.

the house and garden made an ideal location for a family celebration. made for a fabulous time. loved the coffee machine and arga and bbq. great space, very homely.

Lovely stay. House was spotless and very spacious. The estate has great facilities (pool, spa, tennis courts, etc) and we loved having access to the lake for paddle boarding. Would recommend the private chef from Ballihoo on the estate. Alasdair was a very helpful and responsive host.

We had a lovely time at calm waters, the house is beautiful… the pictures don’t do it justice! The best thing about the house was the rooftop that gave us somewhere to sit in the sun all day, whereas other houses in the lake only benefited from morning or afternoon sun. A very comfortable clean spacious place to stay with full range of facilities and wonderful hot tub. A great scenic outlook over the lake and easy walking access to the spa close by.

Very enjoyable stay. Jan and team were very responsive throughout our stay. The villa was fantastic, beautiful rooms, spacious and lovely view over the lake. Would definitely consider coming again in the future, and the family all loved the place!

Oldbury Barn is in a lovely location in the countryside with great views (though tricky to find, so the 'what3words' helped a lot!). The house was nicely presented and lovely and clean. Plenty of pots, pans, mugs (!) utensils etc for a large family group. The open plan nature of the kitchen/diner/lounge is great for a multi generational family gathering like ours, as you are always all together in one huge room. However, note that its a tiled floor and there isn't much in the way of soft furnishings so noise echoes around a bit and can be heard from all bedrooms - but this is only a problem if you have very young kids going to bed early or getting up early! The 2 ground floor bedrooms are large and with lots of storage. The 2 upstairs bedrooms are small with very low ceilings and little storage - fine for kids but we were were 7 adults and one toddler, so that didnt work brilliantly for us . The "slight height restriction" in the description is quite an understatement!!

A beautiful bright spacious modern house with wonderful views across the lake. It is just like the pictures or even better. The lounge and bedrooms are so comfortable and the kitchen is wonderfully equipped with everything you need. Communication was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful time at this house on the Lower Mill Estate. Everything was as described. It was a very well-equipped house with everything we needed for our stay with our 10 month old. Our host was very responsive when we had an issue with the hot tub and got it sorted ASAP. We would recommend this place to anyone and would definitely come back again.
