Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Stokes County

If only we could give the location 12 stars! We know the Dan River, so we expected the fishing to be good and the weather to be lovely, but we also know Kibler Valley just up the river, so we also expected holiday crowds. We couldn’t have been more wrong. Estelle’s place was quiet and peaceful the whole of Memorial Day weekend. The house was well built and well furnished for large groups. The kitchen was large enough to cook for eight and the dining table large enough to seat us all together. We spent hours enjoying each other’s company on the scenic front porch and strolling the path by the river. I could go on. Let it suffice to say we had a terrific weekend and look forward to visiting again.

Home & property were stunning ! Beautifully decorated! Exceeded expectations! Loved the goats, duck & pups! Host was very responsive & helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely stay again.

Very nice. Antiques. Front porch with swing, loveseat, table & chairs. Enjoyed several meals on front porch. House well supplied with pillows, blankets & towels. We cooked our meals onsite. Kitchen had dishes, pans, utensils, spices, everything we needed to prepare the food we brought in. Very peaceful. Beautiful. We plan to to be return guests. Recommending to others. Enjoyable stay. Brandon and Taylor were exceptional host who cared about our well-being during our entire stay. We ran into an unforeseen issue with plumbing, and Brandon and Taylor went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. I have never had a host as gracious, responsive, or as an accommodating as them. The Airbnb itself was beautiful and in a prime location. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay in the area!

The property was perfect to accommodate family from out of town for a weekend nevent nearby. The house was comfortable with plenty of amenities to feel right at home. The hot tub and pool were relaxing at the end of the day. The host was friendly, flexible and responsive.

This was such a gorgeous place. I knew it was a cabin but I didn’t realize it would be a restored 1800’s home place cabin- that was such a great surprise. My family and I do reenactments in an 1800’s village in NC and have often thought about what it must be like to live in a house like that. When we arrived, we were blown away. They have done such an amazing job restoring it, while also preserving the history of the house. It’s just perfect. Old time feel, with modern day conveniences. We absolutely loved staying here. Hated to leave!

We loved our stay at Taryn's place. It was so homey and clean. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. I would have loved to take advantage of the beautiful back patio by relaxing with a book, but time got away. We will not hesitate to stay again.

Cathy was super sweet. She let us check in early and I was so thankful! They introduced themselves and were so kind. House had easy check-in. You could hear some noises from upstairs during the day, but it wasn’t bad. Always quiet at night! Bed was soooo comfy too!

The condo was spotless with good coffee next door and yummy bagel sandwiches across the street. If you’re a walker, many casual restaurants and a Trader Joe’s easily accessible by foot or by car. We only ate breakfasts in but appreciated the many glasses and silverware. Quiet area and friendly neighbors.

A lovely place, we enjoyed our stay, there was a binder inside that described all of the things we needed to and could want to know about, like local places to eat, and a bottle of wine was there at check in ! Yummy ! The designated parking spot on the property was not available, we first parked on the street in the front of the house at first, we didn't know until we read the binder inside that we could park on the side street, which avoids walking up hill with our suitcase and things, parking on the side street was fine, few little steps to go up, but very close to the entrance. Enteringwh is down several, steep concrete steps, definitely pack light, if you have substantial luggage or balance issues you need to be very careful, there is no railing, that is the only thing I would change about our stay. Quiet hours from 9p to 9a were very much followed as the family lives upstairs, there are kids and a dog, but the noise was not bad at all during waking hours. We thank you !!!!

This is a stunning spot on Groundhog Mountain/Doe Run. We enjoyed time out on the deck with the tabletop firepit, comfy chairs, and it was completely enclosed so our dog could be out with us, which was great! Haley’s place was immaculate, well provisioned, had comfortable mattresses, handy to the Parkway, not far from the Olde Mill and the Maples Restaurant and secluded, tucked in to lush foliage. I would highly recommend staying there, if you love being in the mountains and woods, it’s a beautiful spot! She was also extremely responsive and very flexible, which we really appreciated.

The place was very neat, my family and I enjoyed it very much. the bedrooms were very comfortable, and they had a lot of room. The pool was pretty big, and it was really clean. The kitchen was amazing, it had lots of room too. The communication with my host was very professional.

5 Stars across the board! Matthew represented his place very well in the photos and description. Place was spotless. Highly recommend staying here! Could not have asked for more, very value priced!

Visiting the aquatic center for a long weekend. Staying in Tina’s place was such a better option than a hotel. Felt like home and very peaceful. Always like the option of cooking in.
