Cottage holiday rentals in Shirley

We were five, 60 something ladies who get together for hiking and fun. We stayed at Russell's Wilderness Lodge for three nights. The lodge was as described and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with items that we needed to cook many great meals. We did have to make whipping cream by hand but figured it was a good workout for our arms as we took turns beating the cream. We enjoyed the hot tub after coming back from a hike. We had great sleeps in comfortable beds. It was very quiet and peaceful. We would stay there again.

We found this cute Airbnb just up the road from where our son was getting married. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. It was perfect.

From the moment we stepped inside this stunning retreat in the quiet cul-de-sac, we felt right at home! Everything you could need was available, the bed was extremely comfortable and the hot tub was icing on the cake after a day at the Trestle and whale watching in Victoria. We could not have found a better place to celebrate my fiance's birthday! Don't look anywhere else, this is the place for a couple's getaway that you won't forget!

Kathy’s cottage is located in a private and peaceful spot on the cove. It is our third visit! We enjoy cycling and walking on the Galloping Goose Trail and exploring the beaches along Route 14. The cottage is very clean and well appointed. Kathy is a gracious host responding promptly to our inquiries. We will be back.

Well appointed kitchen, so we were able to make some of out meals and bbq, too. Upper bedroom had its own bathroom and balcony with a beautiful view over the harbour. The grounds are well maintained and there was a riot of colourful blooms on the flowers and shrubs. We had the added bonus of sunny days for our week long stay.

This might be the first time I give 5 stars for an airbnb and it is absolutely well deserved. Julie and Johns place was beautiful, clean, quiet, and peaceful. The privacy and natural setting was well worth the price. The hosts were very thoughtful and had the placed stocked with all that you would need for a comfortable stay. The tall trees, sounds of birds, and animal sightings (eagles and deer) made it hard to want to leave! We truly loved our stay!

Richard and Rebecca's place was a peaceful oasis well off the main highway in Sooke. We loved seeing the chickens, deer and the cottontails. The place was impeccably clean and well designed.

We've stayed at Lynda's place a few times now, even trying another spot run by someone else in the same location, and end up coming back to Lynda's because it just can't compare! There is attention to detail, focus on making her place feel at home, and welcoming with the communication and local recommendations. Port Renfrew is such a beautiful place to visit, I highly recommend to anyone looking to stay for a beautiful and relaxing getaway.

Cozy stay :) Jason gave us a heads up that the power in the town was out several hours before our arrival and provided us with updates every hour. He gave us the opportunity to change our plans if needed. We are happy we ended up deciding to still come because the power came back very shortly after arriving. The house heated back up quickly and we had a wonderful time going to some of the places Jason recommended.

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful lake-side cottage. The place is right on the lake with amazing views. The interior is super cozy, with comfy couches and beds. It's one of those places where you immediately feel at home. Our hosts were incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful. We would love to come again!

We had a very peaceful and comfortable stay. We truly appreciated the opportunity for a late check-out, which made things much easier for us. Our son was participating in a regatta on Shawnigan Lake, so staying at Shery’s place was incredibly convenient.

An absolute oasis - perfect for remote work and relaxation with distinct spaces. Gorgeous surroundings and nearby trails and beaches. Beautiful, functional kitchen - overall a great place to unwind and disconnect on your terms.

Wow we loved this place. We so easily could have stayed there for a few more nights (we did 3). It was well located to explore that part of the island and a lot quieter apparently, than more touristy spots such as Tofino (but just as beautiful). We spent our evenings cooking on the bbq and relaxing by the firepit. We ventured down to the beach, which you’d definitely need to do in daylight but was lovely and rustic although there are amazing sunset spots a bit further along from the Cold Shoulder Cafe. The cabin was super comfortable and has everything you need. If we visit the island again, we’ll be back! Ps. We saw a wolf just after dark- incredible experience!

Karen is such a warm and communicative host! It was everything as expected and was a great spot for a weekend away. Highly recommend :) we will be back!

We had a wonderful time at Al’s cottage. Arguably the cleanest accommodation we have ever stayed at and we are quite picky! The light breakfast was a nice surprise and very appreciated. This place is so tastefully renovated and decorated. We had the pleasure of having a good conversation with our hosts in the yard where they have a beautiful vegetable garden. We even had a chicken visitor (belonged to the Neigbors) that my 5 year old grew quite fond of and had daily visits with. All in all, wonderful place, fully and tastefully stocked. Amazing host!

Great and convenient accommodation, clean, highly recommended!

We had a wonderful family vacation at Christine’s beautiful home! Everyone enjoyed the sauna and the fire pit! The gorgeous view speaks for itself!! The home was spacious and accommodated our group of 7 easily for games in the evening in the living room and around the dining table For meals! The Beds were comfy and the space was clean and had enough towels etc to accommodate everyone! The kitchen was well stocked with all the things you could need for cooking! Christine was easy to get ahold of and super accommodating!! We give this spot a ten out of ten!!! Thanks again Christine we really enjoyed our stay!

Cindy's place is comfortable and convenient. The cottage is set in beautiful garden, walking distance to restaurants, Gyro children's park and the beach. Cindy is a friendly and welcoming host. She is very responsive to her guests' needs. We would definitely stay there again.

This place was very nice, great scenery and also very private. Had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and also the private deck and dock were amazing!
