Holiday rentals in Shell Lake

The four of us enjoyed the private space! the sauna was wonderful and we spent a whole day outside on the deck and by the campfire. We recommend bringing eye masks if planning on sleeping in the room with the bunkbeds or the pullout couch since both rooms don’t have blinds. The cabin was also a great location for exploring Spooner and Hayward, we grabbed groceries in town at the Economart

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Goose Lake cabin. Collectively, we had six adults and three children. There was plenty of space for us all, and each family had their own bathroom, which was great! The kitchen was well-equipped vs other rentals, and well organized/labeled. The playset & zipline in the backyard were a big hit with the kids, and visible from the windows so we could let them play and have adult time without worry. It was peaceful to watch over the lake and listen to the birds from the back deck. A few went out and enjoyed time with our kayak on the lake; the water was too shallow for us to fish from the dock, however. We enjoyed the hot tub at night, and appreciated that we didn't have to heat it up prior. The cabin is only about 10 min to Spooner, and we enjoyed some time lunching and bar hopping in town. One small wish was for there to be screens on the windows, as my husband and my room (upper floor) got a little warm. Overall, it was a great stay!!

Right away I was super impressed with the communication. All the information was laid out and easy to understand. We loved the cabin and its location. We were comfortable and enjoyed every part of our stay. We played games (indoor/outdoor), enjoyed a couple bonfires, had family dinners in the dining nook, went on walks in the area and spent some time in Spooner (eating and shopping.) It was nice to have a simple coffee maker. The kitchen had plenty of items for cooking. We brought up homemade chili and heated it up in a pot, made eggs every AM and one night we used their grill. Plenty of kitchen items! The property is beautiful. I loved relaxing while my husband went fishing with our children. My husband and dog met the neighbor and said he was really nice. I LOVED the stores in Spooner. The host had information about local establishments; thank you! Towels, extra blankets and bedding were perfect too! Everything was clean and cute decor:) Definitely recommend.

This was our second stay at this beautiful lake house, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered! Even though the weather wasn’t perfect this time, the house more than made up for it—it’s modern, clean, and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We really appreciated the hosts' recommendation to check out the local indoor pool, which was a fun way to spend a rainy few hours. The lake is incredibly clear and peaceful—such a calming view to wake up to. Our kids had a blast fishing and paddling around in the paddle boat. The whole trip flew by way too fast, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again. A new local favorite for us this trip was Redemption Cafe—an absolutely adorable outdoor spot that’s perfect for a coffee break, ice cream, and antiques. Highly recommend stopping by! This house continues to be a special retreat for our family!

The host was super easy to communicate with. Very flexible when it came to check in and check out times. House had a gorgeous view of the lake. very peaceful, quiet and an overall enjoyable time.

The weather was warm enough this time where we got to enjoy smores on the campfire and sat on the dock to watch the beautiful northern lights play across the sky. Wonderful stay at this cabin on Spooner Lake. Lots of fish caught from the dock, fun bike rides with my 4 and 6 y/o kids around the neighborhood, canoe outings on the lake, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs over the fire outside. Perfect weather. Great location. And the cabin itself was SUPER clean and fresh - sheets, towels, mattresses. Everything was great. Thanks for a great long weekend family getaway. We will be back!

This cabin on Ripley lake was just what we needed! Just a 2 hour drive from the twin cities and we were in such a peaceful environment. We had 8 guests total and had the perfect amount of room. Nearby shell lake has a HUGE swim beach/park for the kids and a little downtown area with anything you might need. The dock on the shoreline would be a fantastic spot to tie up with a boat ramp just around the corner. A kayak and paddle board are also available! T-mobile service wasn’t great but calls can be made from the deck. Verizon did well and the cabin also has WiFi so wasn’t really an issue, plus that’s not what we were there for! Check in was a breeze and the cabin had everything we could have possibly needed. Our hosts communicated proactively and responded quickly. We hope to stay again in the fall or next year and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get away. Thanks Joe and Jessica for the memories!
