House holiday rentals in Shawnigan Lake

This was one of the most beautiful and comfortable places we’ve stayed via Airbnb. The home is beautifully provisioned and the yard is fantastic. We loved sitting out back listening to the bubbling water and birds singing. The hosts were friendly and thoughtful. We would definitely choose again and highly recommend.

K would definitely come back.. actually trying to book next summer for a month.

We really loved the quietness and peacefulness of the place. The layout of the house was awesome. The entertainment was top notch. We even used the gym . I would definitely recommend this place if you are with a group of friends or family gathering!

We loved staying at such a beautiful peaceful house, gorgeous ocean views! The master bedroom was spacious and had a very comfortable bed. The house had plenty of room for our family group consisting of my husband and I with our two young kids, two grandparents and my brother in law and his wife and two kids.

Matt and Lina’s place was truly an oasis. The seven of us were so comfortable and enjoyed the pool/ hot tub and sauna time. Matt and Lina were fantastic to communicate with. We would highly recommend staying here if you love the peacefulness and privacy of the forest with ALL the amenities.

Peaceful and lovely house, the views from the balcony were beautiful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nanaimo.

We were 2 couples visiting the province for a family gathering. This place was absolutely perfect for us! Spacious, clean and beautifully decorated homes. The gardens are gorgeous and we grew attached to all the lovely animals outside the front door! The rural setting was close to all the urban places we visited....and we enjoyed getting to know the surrounding area. Krista was responsive and helpful....and gave us lots of great tips! This is the best airbnb experience we have ever had!

Bowen's place was very beautiful, though slightly dated. We highly enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The kitchen had basic amenities including coffee, coffee supplies, wine glasses, etc, so we were happy. Bowen was very responsive when we needed anything, and we appreciated his quick communication. There's a shopping center within walking distance, and lots of beautiful trails near the house that were fun to explore. The bedrooms were a bit bright for our liking, and the mattresses a tad hard for our stiff backs but overall it was wonderful and we would stay there again.

We had a wonderful stay here and would absolutely recommend and stay again. The hosts made us feel right at home. It was clean, beautiful, comfortable and right at the beach. Thank you!

I had a fantastic stay at Jennifer's place, I enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the unit, the decor was lovely and the beds and linens were so soft. I had a great sleep. There is a playground a 2mim drive from the house and my kids loved it! It was great to know my kids could be entertained. Jennifer was very friendly and had prompt response times to questions.

Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation to anyone. The suite is well laid out, nicely decorated, and very well equipped. The bed is comfortable and there is a huge bathroom with no shortage of hot water for showers. We also appreciated the little extras, such as the coffee pods and milk that were waiting for us. Also, as many others have written, the area is lovely and perfect for anyone who appreciates being close to nature and enjoys a serene environment, complete with resident wildlife. Suzanne is also a friendly and accommodating host. All in all, a lovely place to stay!

What a lovely place to stay!! I almost didnt want to write this review because (selfishly) I don't want more people finding out about this amazing getaway spot! 600m walk to a private beach with dock access.. View of the lake from the backyard.. What more can you ask for. Would 100% stay here again!

We loved staying here. The house is great. The front porch, the side deck with grill and sun chairs and outdoor dining is great. The dock on the water is fabulous. Any specific questions or issues were addressed immediately. Its a really lovely spot. You can't do better on Shawnigan Lake!

Cara’s place was like a home away from home. The mountain & sunset views through the massive windows were stunning!! The location was quiet & private but was also walkable to the bay, where the restaurants & cute shops were. Parking was right on the property in front of her cute garden. The place was stocked with all the basic home supplies & the bed was comfy. I will definitely come back when I’m visiting the area again!

We’re from the Island and booked this cabin as a quick getaway from the city, and it was exactly what we needed. Hannah was very responsive and friendly, the cabin was clean, fresh, and beautifully maintained, it felt like brand new. It had everything we needed, from a well-equipped kitchen to thoughtful little touches that made it feel cozy and welcoming. The location was ideal, close enough to town for groceries, restaurants and cafes, but still tucked away in a peaceful, private setting with a beautiful ocean view.

This place was perfect for my husband, dog and I. We loved the ocean view and access in the back of the property and it was easy to unwind here after a long travel day. One of the really nice parts is that you're only a 17 min walk from town. You can walk along the highway to get there but there is no sidewalk for most of the way. With our spirited dog, we found a quieter way by turning left onto Terrett Street and walking along Lanark Road. By the time Lanark Road ends you can go back up to Sooke road and there is a sidewalk. Tiffiny was also a great host. She was very responsive and proactive when we had questions about the bedroom ceiling fan. She even brought over a stand alone fan for us. Thank you for the great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Kurt's lakeside house. It was clean, spacious, modern, bright and airy with a lovely large sundeck overlooking the lake which was across the road. The house was in pristine condition with a bathroom for every room and a modern kitchen. There are kayak rentals and a little beach across the road and it was 30 minutes away from eco whale watching tours where we saw orcas,seals and bald eagles on the boat trip. I would definitely stay here again. Even though the other townhouse were close by, it was very private and had a large private, sheltered deck. A lovely home! Thank you so much Kurt for a wonderful stay!

We were fortunate to stay at Jess's place on short notice, when our camping plans changed. The cabin is modern and comfortable, nestled in a beautiful forest setting, complete with birdsong and visiting deer. The listing is quite clear that there is no wifi! We did have cell service and were able to get (slow) internet access on our phones. There is a steep trail nearby to the beach, which we had to ourselves. We would love to visit again. Absolutely unique property the view of the Pacific was amazing. It is situated right at the end of the road so no passing traffic or people - very peaceful Very well equipped and comfortable Rob was very responsive especially when I couldn’t work out how to lock the door when we went out (you just press the unlock button). It’s amazing

The house and its setting are stunning. Set apart from any other houses, it is so serene with an incredible view. Rachel has spared no expense in amenities. The decor is beautiful and tasteful. The beds were supremely comfortable with 5 star quality hotel bedding. Big, soft, luxurious towels too! The home is well stocked with anything you could possibly need. We enjoyed the nice selection of games. We all wished we were staying more than 1 night!

We had a very comfortable, peaceful stay at Gary’s place. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It was a good base for our day trips and then we were able to relax on the balcony or in the living room. We really enjoyed our stay. There is a nice walking beach close by and Cowichan Bay is an easy drive.

We had a wonderful stay at Donovan's cabin. It was perfect for our family get-together (8 adults and 2 small children). The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, we loved the close proximity to hiking and other nature nearby (ie. East Sooke Regional Park). Donovan was super communicative and responsive to any questions. Thank you!

Beautiful place. Stayed here for the proximity to Olympic national park. Perfect home base for all the hiking. Clean home right on the beach would definitely recommend!
