First, the hosts were very gracious and welcoming. They made me feel right at home, and took great care of me. As for the place, it's in a very quite and peaceful area. It's very rustic and cozy. And Jin the dog and Maru the cat are very cute and fun to play with. Thank you for hosting me!

Hotel Radish House! A cozy inn where you can also enjoy the hot springs.

Jenny BRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Private bedroom in a hostel-like home. Cozy and warm, with a hot spring-fed tub in the lower level. I enjoyed three FABULOUS dinners specially made to suit my dietary needs…thank you!! I took the public transportation bus each day into Nyuto Village Hot Springs area. Also, the onsen Mizusawa is totally worth the 15-minute walk. Best way to navigate is plug in “Hotel Radish House” in Google maps. Nice family. I hope to return again.

Hostel & Bar CAMOSIBA<Mix dormitory>

The regular dorm room also has a large bed, so if you bring a backpack, you can easily store it. There were also lights and hangers inside, so I was able to stay comfortably without having to leave the bed. Next time, I want to stay in the room on the second floor!

I had a wonderful time in a big room, tastefully furnished in Japanese style, well heated while cold weather and quiet. Joshi offered to pick me up at the station, but I walked along blooming trees and flowers and discovered on the way a good coffee near the train station. On the way back, Joshi already waited for me with his car in front of his house. He is a very kind host taking care for the well-being of his hosts.

Very nice traditional place and the host was very kind. He invited us to a local event going on in the town, and we enjoyed it.

Yamane Dojo, a private room in a used bookstore

The renovated shop and inn of the old house live together, and it was unique and interesting unlike a typical business hotel. If I had more time, I wanted to grab more books. I'd love to stay with you a little more next time.

Akita House (pick-up and drop-off)

Would 100% recommend staying here for any traveller coming to Japan looking to stay in a traditional Japanese home. Hiro, Nozomi and Satoko made me feel at home right away. The house was very clean and the amenities were excellent. The area is very peaceful and conveniently located. I never felt unsafe walking around, even at night. I was collected from the airport and even got to experience Japanese home cooking thanks to the hosts. Thank you for having me!

Private room (#02) 1 semi-double bed / Guesthouse

First, let me say that our host Kiyoko was extremely friendly and accommodating and very helpful in renting our bikes from Tourist Information where she works, in planning our day trip around the beautiful and peaceful Tono valley and was always available to answer our questions quickly. She speaks good English and also recommended good restaurants. Our room was very comfortable with super bed and futon with cosy duvets. The shared bathroom and kitchen were excellent with everything we needed. We enjoyed the superb City Museum which Kiyoko recommended, and she also offered us a free tour of a very interesting local temple with a great English- speaking guide. We hope to return for the autumn colours. Extremely highly recommended.
