By far our favourite cafe and a gorgeous homewares shop to boot. The cafe is standard pricing but be warned, the homewares aren't cheap! A gorgeous place to meet a friend for a cuppa and a browse for inspiration.

Sightseeing

Our fave wave spot. It's quite busy for surfers but it's a great place to sit by the wall and watch the surf smash against the rocks. Your choice of either Rainbow Bay beach or Froggy's beach for the sun lovers. They sit on either side of snapper.

Check out another fave beach and a great place for short board surfing. Don't forget to meander around further south for the family-friendly Little DBah where the waves are calm and great for snorkeling and swimming.

Another calm and beautiful spot for paddle boarding and swimming. It's especially good for sea turtle spotting. Have a nice walk around, take a dip, or rent a kayak and paddle about. There's a market here on Sundays and a popular fish and chip shack too.

You won't regret the climb. Go early and watch the sunset. Best views you'll ever see here in Kirra. Bring a bottle of wine and the picnic basket provided and have a romantic evening.

Neighbourhoods

We love the Evo Village and it is a must see! Also, just having a drive into the Currumbin Valley is soooo worth it. Check out the rock pools. You'll need a car for this.

The best little village for cafes, shopping and a bit of nightlife with a couple cute restaurants and bars.

Cooly Beaches busy and bustling? Head to North Kirra and Bilinga, the opposite direction of coolangatta. Walk along the beach across from your place, or head up the footpath to enjoy the more serene and quieter beaches that tourists rarely visit.

Fun Stuff

We love this place for a visit or two but it is a bit touristy. You'll get to hold a koala for a fee and have your picture taken, which is nice if you don't come to Australia often. We prefer the calmness and authenticity of a smaller wildlife spot, David Fleays, but it's in Burleigh which you'll need a car to get to. We've included it in this guidebook for you to have a look at.
