Remember when kids used to build dens and play out for hours? Trent park takes you back with 413 acres of ancient woodlands, meadows and lakes and horse riding is also close by. A perfect day out!

One of my favourite parks in London and so underrated - Golders Hill park has a small animal enclosure, the most divine ice cream ever and is a magnet for locals and families who want to completely escape the hustle and bustle of London.

Greenwich should be on every visitor to London's list anyhow so when you tire of the market and the Royal Observatory, head to the park, lie on the grass and watch the planes in the sky.

Not only was this the first broadcasting location for the BBC in 1935, but it also offers acres of green space, amazing views over London, one of the UK's oldest restored theatres, exhibitions concerts and an ice rink. Great for a day out.

One of my favourite places to unwind in London. Explore the heath at your leisure and there's no better place to see the sunrise.

One of London's premium parks which offers a great respite from the bustle of nearby central London. Lots to see and do including the Princess Diana memorial fountain.
