A must do. The Rose Garden (top right hand side) is fabulous all through summer and a lovely place to bring a coffee. In Spring, the cherry blossoms (close to Rose Garden) and daffodils near the top gate are lovely. The view from the observatory is great all year round. Bandstand concerts 3pm Sundays July & August are nice for a picnic.

Greenwich should be on every visitor to London's list anyhow so when you tire of the market and the Royal Observatory, head to the park, lie on the grass and watch the planes in the sky.

Greenwich is the oldest enclosed Royal Park, 74 hectares (183 acres) in area, and is home to a small herd of deer. On top of a hill, visitors enjoy sweeping views across the river Thames and Central London. The park is part of Greenwich World Heritage Site, host to the Prime Meridian Line and the old Royal Observatory, and near the National Maritime Museum. In summer, a bandstand plays host to concerts and the children's playground offers entertainment. There are three cafés: The Tea Pavilion, with beautiful large gardens; St Mary's Gate Café (with a snack bar nearby in summer), near the National Maritime Museum; and The Honest Sausage - near the Royal Observatory. Public toilets with disabled access. Cricket and tennis can be played.

Stunning park with amazon views and rolling hills. One of the loveliest in London. See the old King's House, the Old Naval College (now Greenwich University campus), and Maritime Museum. Stand on the world-famous Meridian Line, the home of Greenwich Mean Time, which is the line that between the two sides of the world!
