  • I really didn’t want to leave. Such a peaceful, lovely and basically perfect place to stay. I’ve not seen natural darkness in so long away from light pollution. Such a beautiful place to return to each night after a long day at work. Very very clean with just enough of everything and anything from a log fire to patio and a hot tub (although not used). Highly recommend.

  • I honestly don’t think if you want a romantic getaway in the countryside you could ask for a better place/location. By far the best uk holiday location in the country and I wouldn’t choose another place to go.

  • Our 2nd stay at this beautiful place, still as perfect as ever and ideal for couples looking to escape for a few nights. Will always recommend this place to others and will most likely stay again. Many thanks

  • Completely perfect, highly recommend, second stay at the retreat, this time in the lodge. Tranquil location surrounded by woodlands & it's beautiful wildlife. Anna is a fantastic host with the hot tub & the fire up & running for our arrival. Such an idyllic setting, an amazing get away will definitely be back.

    Michelle2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • I went with my mum as a weekend away, fantastic place cannot fault it. All the small touches made it even better than expected, and I have had the 2 best nights sleep I have had in a while. We are 100% coming back.

    Jessica2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • Such a perfect relaxing weekend away for the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The little lodge was super cosy and great for a romantic weekend away. Anna had left us with a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge as well as giving us a few logs to start the fires off with. Thoughtful, personal touches like this really made the weekend for us. The lodge is small, but has absolutely everything you need. There are also facilities that allow you to cook food for yourself as well, so we’d recommend turning up already having done the shopping (one hob and limited fridge space - which is to be expected!) . There were also old school games in the lodge which we had a lot of fun playing again (uno etc). Anna had left a folder with instructions for everything as well as local recommendations for walks, food, where to visit etc. Anna was very helpful and always quick with replying. Could not recommend this place enough, we’ll definitely come back here again and have recommended it to all our friends. We absolutely loved the simplicity of it and feel so relaxed. An ideal place, especially if you want a romantic weekend away.

  • What a fabulous place to spend a weekend! We got there on Friday with the Hot tub warm so we were straight in there with a glass of wine! Really well thought out space and super cosy! The hut was clean and comfortable and there was a booklet which was really helpful! We went into Romsey and Winchester and then down to Netley to the coast for a fab walk! Highly recommend Anna’s hut and her communication was second to none! Thanks Jill and Dan :-)

    Jill2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepherd's Hut is very well thought out and the limited space is used very cleverly. The stove and hot tub are very nice touches, especially when staying in February as we did - both very easy to use. We were not disturbed at all during our stay and very peaceful, which was just what we were looking for. We both loved it.

    Lee2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Ivy Hut is a lovely little escape! It's easy from London and Anna gave very clear instructions. The hut is small and perfectly formed. It is exceptionally clean and cosy. Bed and sheets were so soft and comfy. Lots of local info available for us and good little fridge for our snacks and lunch! Hot tub is also brilliant. It was even heated up ready for us on our arrival which was so good. Lots of little books and crannies to store things so it doesn't feel tiny. The fireplace also made me feel like I was definitely away from London and in the country! Saw ducks, a heron and 7 frogs around the golf course! I definitely recommend the hut!

    Ashley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and warming host! Very clean and cosy stay for me and my girlfriend. Thank you!

  • A fun place to stay. Very private and a unique experience.

    James2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little weekend stay, hot tub is a really top of the range fire burning one that was lovely. Bed was so comfy and the bathroom is inside the hut which saved us with the bad weather we had! All in all a great stay.

  • Had a fab weekend in Bluebell shepherds hut. Lovely touches such as a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge, even with the ban on pubs and restaurants we still had a great time, the BBQ was a dream come true. We can’t wait to book another weekend back here.

    Lucy2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute little hut, sparkling clean and so cosy with the wood-burner on. The hot tub is the best one I've been in and we spent a lot of time in it. Perfect place for a romantic getaway. Have already recommended to friends and will definitely be back myself :)

    Matine2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Anna’s place. The log burner and hot tub were not too tricky to light and once the fire was going the hut warmed up quickly. It was a shame we had bad weather so we only used the hot tub once but loved it! We also saw frogs and deer around the golf course which was nice :)

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really fabulous stay at the Shepherd’s hut! Although the weather was truly terrible we were so snug inside with the wood burner and still managed to explore the grounds and nearby new forest (wellies highly recommended). The hot tub under the stars was an absolute luxury and made the stay even more special. We saw loads of deer and lots of different wildlife and it was a really lovely break from the city. Anna has made sure to provide everything that you could possibly need and was always super quick to respond and on hand for any queries. Would definitely recommend!

    Alice2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect location for a quiet romantic get away! Everything you need is in the cabin and it’s a lot more spacious in real life! Spotless and finished off with many little touches! The hot tub and wood burning made the experience cosy and romantic would highly recommend. We also visited the Chilworth Arms for dinner which is a 5 min drive and it was also 5 star quality.

    Lydia2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to relax. Very cosy, warm and sparkling clean. Would definitely recommend!

    Zuzanna2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a wonderful setting, peaceful, just wonderful relaxing. Really enjoyed and loved the hot tub, log burners. It was everything wanted for a surprise birthday weekend. Anna was lovely, contactable and quick to reply. Will love to come again. - hopefully soon. Loved it

  • Perfect place for a relaxing escape from the city. It was a bit cold outside reason why we wanted to get a house that was just an experience in itself. Lots of nice sofas, chairs and floor pillows to lounge around; the place is full of interesting items, books and even an old DVD and music collection. Wonderful views to the outside fields from any window and even better, when going out to have a cup of tea from the top balcony or porch downstairs. Debbie left us some breakfast goodies, including a delicious jam assortment, which was a very nice surprise and we really enjoyed them thanks! Great walking trails around the property if you are looking to connect with nature too.

  • This is such a lovely peaceful place. Have decided to adopt it as my home away from home when I am working in Winchester. Really gorgeous garden apartment with homely welcoming touches

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great weekend getaway at Victoria’s. The studio was warm & cosy & the perfect size for us. We decided to cook dinner in after a drink at the Plough & we had everything that we needed. The next morning we woke up to the sounds of the birds & had our breakfast provided by Victoria which included some fresh eggs that were laid by the hens that we saw wandering around the garden! We didn’t get to meet Victoria but it was so easy to check-in/out & to communicate with her. All in all it was a 10/10 stay.

    Lynn2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Victoria was a great host. I arrived very late on a last minute booking due to work to find the place perfectly heated with everything I could of wanted. Had a very relaxed stay.

Still open during Covid-19 for a person/people who: is unable to return to their main residence; needs accommodation while moving house; needs accommodation to attend a funeral; for any purpose requested by the Secretary of State, or a local authority (housing key workers working away from home etc)
Fantastic rural retreat! Gorgeous heated studio with its own private garden. Very cosy & quiet space. Two great pubs just a fifteen minute country walk away in Hursley. Only five miles into either Winchester (London by train 55 minutes) or Romsey. IBM Hursley is 1 mile away, Paultons Park & Peppa Pig world only ten minutes or so away. Great exploring base! 1 double bedroomed, cosy, heated studio (extra single bed - John Lewis sofa/chair bed - in the same room, available on request) which is furnished with character furniture - double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Modern shower room. Tea and coffee making facilities, toaster, fridge, microwave. And a TV if you just fancy chilling! A really lovely place to stay - you’ll have your own garden set within the main house 1/3 acre garden - we have two chickens (Roo & Bea) a cat and a very chilled dog. No pets please as they might harm our friendly free ranging hens. It’s a very cosy space. Perfect getaway! Wifi to keep you connected, although we're rural, so don't expect anything super-fast!
Peaceful location with easy access to nearby towns and the M3 motorway (only four miles from junctions 11 or 12). London is easily accessible by train from Winchester in 55 minutes. The New Forest is a 30 minute drive away and you'll find beautiful beaches in around 40 minutes by car. Hursley is a very pretty village with two pubs that are walkable in around fifteen minutes (take a torch after dark - or we'll happily drop you down there if we're in!) and a village post office/small shop/newsagent. Winchester is only five miles away and is a really pretty, historic town, with many shops, cafes and restaurants to explore. We've lived in the area for sixteen years, so can give you a few ideas of where to start. In the other direction, Romsey, a small market town, is only five miles away. Again, great for a roam around and a coffee!
  • Great stay, thanks!

    Lewis2020-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at this great little summerhouse! It was cosy and just the right size for us (two adults) even if we were there for a month. Kirsten, Mark and the girls are amazing hosts and looked after us really well. The dog, cat and chickens made us feel welcome too! It was nice to have our own space, though, so we and our hosts could do our own thing (although we could always come up for a chat). Bed is comfy, bedding warm and fluffy, lovely shower room, surprising amount of storage and well-equipped kitchen - no hob, but can cook pretty much anything in a microwave. TV has plenty of channels and internet via WiFi extender is great. Location is lovely too, tucked away in the back corner of the garden. The centre of Winchester is 10 mins drive away and there are a number supermarkets in the vicinity. There are some nice walks nearby too, although all very muddy when we were there. Would very much recommend and would definitely stay again!

  • Always a great place to stay. Thanks :)

  • The whole trip went so smoothly from initial contact to the check-in and checkout. My 2 little people loved it and it made for a great little adventure to the secret holiday house.

    Chris2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully private , cute summer house with a comfortable bed, OK shower - and plenty of storage for clothes! Effective electric heating. Don't expect to cook anything other than heating up something in the microwave. Great holiday from washing up as there's a dishwasher instead of a sink (tho' there is a basin in the bathroom - obviously!) Please appreciate that you're in a country not urban setting so don't expect to 'stream' much video/TV or radio.

  • A great place right in the heart of Winchester perfect for the sights and the best restaurants, pubs and bars. Highly recommended.

  • Great location and comfy bed. I was staying for a workshop in Winchester and the location was really central so it was perfect! Also great there is parking available.

    Chloe2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely, clean, quiet and very comfortable place to stay right in the heart of beautiful Winchester and very kind and friendly hosts.

    Kim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and sparklingly clean room in a spacious house superbly located in the centre of town, Sophie and Ramin are welcoming hosts who go out of their way to make your stay go smoothly. We would definitely stay with them again

    Tony2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie’s place is clean, welcoming and in a fantastic location. Sophie and Ramin were great hosts and we would definitely return!

    Abigail2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • It’s my second time staying at Sophie & Ramin’s Air B’n’B and it was so calming to know that whilst I was working in Winchester I had this haven to go back to. The wind & rain was howling outside and yet you’d never know it the room (with en-suite) is so cosy. Location of the room within the house is towards the back so you feel pleasantly tucked away. The room is spacious, spotlessly clean (of course), stylishly understated and very comfy. Sophie & Ramin are accommodating lovely hosts. The location in Winchester is second to none, just one street away you can find the theatre royal & an abundance of gorgeous eateries, bars etc. Highly highly recommend!

    Mark2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie & Ramin’s place is well situated for the railway station, and the high street, and the room is comfortable and quiet. It had a nice hanging area for clothes, and room for my case. I loved the little touches like the coffee & tea facilities in the room, and the small flask of fresh milk. Having an on-suite shower room was great, and the latch on the door was very reassuring. The closeness to the high street means breakfast & dinner isn’t a problem - the pie shop down the road was great, and there are many other places close by. Both Sophie and Ramin were helpful and welcoming, and struck the right balance of welcoming and respectful of personal space.

  • A lovely peaceful place, very light and airy and you literally feel like you are in a treehouse in the treetops. The provided breakfast, tea, milk etc and bathroom supplies were a much appreciated added bonus. Nigel and Katie are very quick at responding to messages and the lock box check in is so easy. • I would recommend This cottage to anyone. It was close to town. And was just what I needed, a home from home. Very clean. Had all I needed. Even the little touches, like box of chocolates and breakfast left. Milk and Bread. So looking forward hopefully to visit again. Next time will bring my partner. And spend time looking arround Winchester as could not this visit. As we were in lockdown with Covid-19. Thanks Wendy for all your help and lettingme stay in your cottage

Light, spacious bedroom, tastefully decorated. Cupboard with hanging space and shelves. Bedside cupboard for storage. An antique comfy chair. Comfortable double bed. Opposite the bathroom, but private as it’s set towards the back of the house.
Guests are more than welcome to use the lounge area as well as the kitchen. In the summer we’re more than happy for them to make themselves at home in the garden as well. We really like people to feel welcome, comfortable and at ease. If there is anything that they would like to do or ask, we would welcome requests or enquires and would accommodate it to the best of our ability.
Laundry Cottage was built in the early 1600’s and the newer part of the house attached to the cottage used to be outside Laundries that did the surrounding Manor House and cottages, Laundry. This part was attached to the cottage in the 1800’s. Winchester is the first Capital of England and a wonderfully historic city boasting a beautiful Cathedral and historical ruins and buildings. We have the most fabulous coffee shops and restaurants in Winchester. There are wonderful scenic walks in and around Winchester as well. There is also a charming small cinema in town.
  • Beautiful old thatched cottage - and a comfortable stay!

  • Marlene and Kevin's place is what every airBnB experience should aspire to be. They were the perfect hosts- genuine, warm hearted people with a great enthusiasm and knowledge of the area. Rarely have I felt so warmly welcomed. Marlene was very quick to communicate during and in the leadup to our stay, arranging to meet up in town and being flexible about checkin/out. Their home is a gorgeous period cottage filled with nice touches like fresh flowers and a chocolate on the pillow - thank you Marlene! If you are lucky enough to try Kevins amazing breakfast with tomoto gravey you won't be disappointed. Kamber the dog added an adorable friendly (and hairy!) element to our stay, helping us to feel right at home. Thank you all for making us feel like part of the family. We hope to come back one day! Much love, Cat and Matt xxx

  • You will enjoy staying in a charming, historic cottage, very comfortable bedroom and bedding, quirky decor with lots of interesting pictures and artefacts, and all very clean. In spite of being near major roads it is quiet, peaceful and well equipped with a very good internet connection. Kevin and Marlene have lived there many years and are very helpful and knowledgable about the area.

    Frances2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin and Marlene are warm and friendly hosts that offer flexibility to guests. Nothing is too much trouble. The cottage itself has a lot of charm and the bedroom and bathroom are very spacious. It is one of the best Air bnb places to stay around Winchester in terms of accommodation and value for money.

He couldn’t have been more helpful in his responses and recommendations. The place is easy to get to and was brilliantly decorated, clean and comfortable. Everything we could have wanted xx

  • Lovely room, excellent location. Tom was really helpful and went the extra mile.

    Nicola2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I could not have been happier with my stay here. Tom was the most accommodating Airbnb host I have ever had. I got sick right before arriving and didn’t want to share a bed with my friend I was tracking with for fear of giving it to her. So Tom made up a beautiful second bed for us that was just as cute at the official real bed already there. This was so helpful. Really saved our trip. The room was stunning, location is perfect, and check in was smooth. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Tom was a wonderful host - flexible with the check-in and made it extremely easy to get in ourselves and let us know the best spots to get dinner. Everything about this place made our trip perfect - hope we make it back & can stay here again! :)

Make use of the park and ridew which is just around the corner and a bargain at £3 for two adults. There are some stunning villages and pubs all within 20 minutes. I would happily recommend Old Orchard Apartments. Thanks for a great stay.

My house is very close to the city centre, a short enjoyable walk away from St. Catherines hill and the famous Black Boy pub or the Michelin starred Black Rat Restaurant. Only a 5 min riverside walk in to town and located near one of the South Downs Way starting points so perfect for any long distance walkers heading out or completing their journey.
The room itself is a large double (recently refurbished) with an ensuite bathroom and comes with all the usual such as WIFI, TV and Kettle etc, recently I have added a fridge/cooler to the room so there will be space for you to store items that need chilling. In addition to this you will have access to the lounge area if you choose. There will be a permit for on street parking.
It is a very friendly area, an example being that every year the road that my house is on is closed for a street party.
  • This is my second visit. Its a lovely house with an interesting collection of items. The parking is included and Ian is very organised with making permits available. The house is beautiful and located very close to town. I wish he told me about the steps at the end of his road as last time my friend and I walked the long way round with blistered in heals. Haha. Does get a little chilli in the night so bring warm bed clothes. We were impressed at the trust he has in his guests. Including 8 loo rolls in a loo roll crisis. An amazing home and will be staying again.

An easy 5 min walk into the centre where there are numerous eateries, shops, historical building, museums and walks. We hope to return!

The annexe is a newly refurbished cosy oasis hidden in the heart of central Winchester. It’s a completely private en-suite bedroom in a quiet leafy cul-de-sac. The theatre and many of Winchester’s best restaurants are right on your doorstep. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes in the other direction and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve.
The annexe is compact yet perfectly equipped to provide the comfort and amenities you need to enjoy your short break. A comfortable double bed with crisp clean linen and towels are provided. The space alongside the bed is clean and open with a fold out table and chairs, perfect for dining or use as a desk. The annexe benefits from an en-suite shower room with heated towel rail. Alongside the en-suite is a built in cupboard with hanging, storage space and a small fridge. On arrival you will find milk, tea & coffee and some complimentary breakfast items.
The annexe is right in the centre of Winchester, but it doesn't feel or sound like a city centre location. Marston Gate is a quiet leafy cul-de-sac situated right alongside the earth bank of the ancient city wall which provides privacy and seclusion despite being just over the road from the Theater and some of the cities best bars and restaurants. The train station and High Street are a 5 minute walk away. 5 minutes walk in the other direction past the River Park leisure centre and you can be in Winnall Moors nature reserve a beautiful spot for a walk along the river bank and over boardwalks laid in amongst the reeds.

  • Clean, comfortable, quiet, cosy warm in winter. The space is small (as described), a well-sized bedroom with a small bathroom. Marie has added a few clever details: a small fridge and tea-making facilities with light snacks suitable for an easy breakfast. This is perfect for a short stay in Winchester - a restful space close to public transport. Would definitely stay again!

    Meghan2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe is a brilliant spot located a stones throw from Winchester train station. The room is very Bright and has everything you could need it’s amazing what Maire has managed to do with the space. The room was so cosy and warm when we arrived after a long day travelling due to delayed flights and over crowded trains. Lovely touches such as gin and tonic in the fridge and an addition heater on in the room on a cold March day to greet us. Maire was my pleasant, professional and efficient to deal with as a host threw the air b&b service. I would highly recommend Maire as a host and her air b&b

    Mollie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect over night stay, close to the centre of the city and the train station.

This is a garden flat, a daylight basement suite of 3 rooms of our family home. Super fast broadband. It has a front garden outlook and its own separate entrance is accessed through the rear garden, down a short but steep set of stairs. We are 10 mins walk from Winchester station. On street parking permit or one parking space when available for use of guest. Accommodation is 2 rooms and a bathroom: kitchen/diner and bed/sitting room. The wifi and all utilities are included.
The guest can use the pretty back garden to sit in the sun. There is also a corner to tuck away a bike should you want to bring one. Inside there is a comfortable double bed and an armchair. We removed the swing seat in the photo, because it was too small for adult use and replaced it with the armchair. The window looks out on the well tended front garden, with only pedestrian access to the front of the house it is very peaceful. There is a desktop by this window for those who need somewhere to sit and write. The kitchen diner is freshly painted in bright colours and makes an agreeable place to sit at the table while someone is cooking. There is a table and chairs, enough for 4 people. The bath has a hand held shower attachment for rinsing hair. The studio is part of a historic listed building and reflects this character whilst being decorated in a bright cheerful modern style.
St James Studio guest suite is in a Georgian property in a tree lined conservation area. The area is pretty, peaceful and safe with friendly neighbours, parks and 50 yards from the welcoming St James Tavern Pub, that serves good food. There are shops, pubs, restaurants and many amenities on the High Street which is 5 mins walk away. The railway is nearby, and the station only 10 mins walk. Trains can be heard a little but not intrusively. The hospital is also 10 mins walk away. The property is historic, being a listed building, and the guest suite reflects this character to some extent.
  • Fabulous flat and super location.

  • Terrific place to stay. Secure and private. Very comfortable bed, nice kitchen and bathroom. Gorgeous garden on a sunny day. The flat is very close to the station and an easy walk to the High Street with its wonderful shops. Rosie is a fantastic host. Highly recommended.

    Sue2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie and Tim were very friendly and discreet while we were in their apartment. Tim received us when we arrived. They left us some wine, flowers and also some cheese, bread and jam since we arrived late. They even added a blowup bed for our son and some toys. We are very grateful for all that. It was very nice to stay in their studio that we enjoyed a lot during our stay in Winchester. Access to the apartment is through 3 or 4 steep steps which was not a problem for us. Just important to know in case someone has reduced mobility. I recommend it!

    María2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay in a wonderful home. The hosts were rather attentive when help was needed and rather friendly.

    Liam2019-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little place to stay if you’re ever in Winchester. It’s quiet but a really short walk away from the train station and the town. Rosie definitely goes out of her way to make you feel welcome (and even picked me some flowers and arranged them for my arrival - such a nice touch). I’ll definitely be recommending this place to any friends looking for an ideal base when in Winchester.

    Lorna2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great stay. The hosts were very communicative and provided lots of info on where to park and how to get to the flat. We had a great time at Rosie's place

  • Tessa was the perfect host - available when needed but not intrusive at all. The apartment is well situated within walking distance of the city centre. It is well equipped, clean, comfortable and spacious.

  • Functional apartment, very comfortable bed, very warm welcome from our host Tessa. We are delighted and will definitely come back.

    Aurélie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tessa is a great host and has prepared a file filled with lots of detail about the area. The property is in a great spot just out of the hustle and bustle but this is a blessing as you can stroll through the water meadows or lovely old streets to get into the main part of the city. It's close to the 'boutique' cinema which is a must - I loved watching Emma there then walking out into the historical streets of St Cross. Winchester is VERY dog friendly, so bring your pooch along, we didn't bring a dog but met many a character in the many pubs!

  • First I would like to say that Tessa was a great host, easy to communicate & very quick at responding. The place is lovely and sparkling clean. The kitchen has everything you could need and there's smart TV. It's about 15/20min walk to Winchester Cathedral. Would highly recommend the property if you want to explore Winchester & some lovely nice walks close by.

Newly decorated with new bed and furnishings. Space for hanging, chest of drawers and desk area with views of the river perfect for single traveller. Shared bathroom right next door to your room.
My house is very homely, lit fires in the winters evening, lots of artwork as I am an artist. Brilliant location 3 mins to centre but tranquility of being right on the river.
I’m semi detached one lovely neighbour next door, your room backs onto the garden with views of the river
  • The room as described in the picture, is well located close to the city centre and Winchester university of the arts

    Erin2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The space has a beautiful view, the room has everything you could need including a kettle and an assortment of teas and coffee, in addition to some ecosystems artworks displayed in the room. Deborah was so kind and lovely :) I hope I will be able to visit again!

    Maria2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay, exactly what you expect with no surprises or problems! The location is so easy for the city centre and train station, and it’s right on the river! And you’ll have good conversations with Deborah. A lovely woman and a perfect host

    Andrew2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great near the center and the cathedral. The room is comfortable and cozy and the heating is very good. The hostess is super nice and has a very cute dog

    Matheus2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • I liked the place so much, I returned four weeks later to stay here again. Debs is a fantastic host with lots of thoughtful suggestions, and her place is so close to literally everything in Winchester. The room is perfect, the heating works just fine, and the shower has hot water almost instantly. Would recommend her to anyone traveling to the ancient capital before London became the dominant city.

  • Staying at Deborah's house was a pleasure and it was really nice. Warm and cosy. Also Deborah was very nice and I really recommend staying at her house.

    Saša2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • This room not only was stylish, but comfortable with a warm comforter and lovely touches: lots of artwork, instant teas, coffees, milk, sugar, and tea kettle. The room also had loads of outlets and a lovely view of the River Itchen. She also provides a list of numerous restaurants by style of food, and a lush, supersized bath towel for the very roomy bathroom. Once she provides you a key, you have free reign to come and go, but you might not want to leave because her pet dog is adorable. Cannot rave enough about the room.

  • If you want to stay somewhere a little different but still want the luxury touches then look no further! The lodges are fantastic and have amazing space inside. The facilities are incredible and for that extra touch highly recommend getting one with a hot tub. The only critique for us is that it would be great to have a check in of 3pm with a check out of 11am. We really loved the breakfast box and wanted to enjoy it but unfortunately our morning was a little rushed. Overall, an amazing stay 😊

I have two rooms, both small doubles, the other is the attic, in a Victorian Terrace in the City Centre. I'm walking distance from the station and all the sights. A kettle and tea and coffee making facilities in your room. Check in before 8pm please (see below).I'm afraid I don't currently have anywhere secure to store a bike overnight. This room has a bolt on the door.
A comfortable bed in a warm house in the middle of an ancient city. There is a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities in the room, also a USB charging plug. I'm afraid I don't offer breakfast but there are loads of places nearby offering delicious breakfast options and I'm happy to point you in the right direction. However, if all you need is a bowl of cereal and you let me know before you arrive so I can get enough milk in, you can help yourself to whatever’s in the cupboard!
Winchester is a beautiful city. My home is walking distance from the Cathedral, Great Hall and local museums. But I'm also close to beautiful walks, by the river and in the local nature reserve. And to top it all, the shops are really close too.

The flat is light and airey and fitted in a modern contemporary style on the ground floor of a Grade II listed Georgian building close to the historic centre of Winchester, with the advantage of secure parking on site. Sorry, no children under 12 due to glass furniture and electrical equipment. Nearby are the railway and bus stations. Within a short walking distance are Winchester Cathedral, a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, scenic walks, historical attractions, theatres and cinemas.
The flat comprises lounge and kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. All rooms have the high ceilings and cornices associated with Georgian buildings which make them light and give a feeling of character and space. The entrance door opens into the lounge, with a useful chrome and glass shelf unit on the left which is convenient for storing keys and other knick-knacks. A folder with information leaflets about Winchester and the surrounding area sits on the lower shelf. In front is the kitchen worktop, useful for dumping bags of heavy shopping. The lounge has a large comfortable new Multiyork sofa with big scatter cushions which can be removed allowing it to be used as an occasional bed (linen provided if required). This is ideal for watching the 42” JVC smart HD television which is connected to the internet to enable access to Catch Up services, Apps, and the internet via the BT Router. Smart phones and pcs can also be connected to the fast broadband via the router. The feature fireplace, mantelpiece and large mirror give a central focus to the room, help spread light around and of course allow one’s appearance to be checked! Evening lighting is generally soft from the matching designer floor and table lamps, and wall mounted uplighters. The large window is fitted with a screening blind and Roman blind by Forme to provide privacy from the street outside. A glass top table and chrome finish chairs sit next to the kitchen, ideally located for either a quick snack or a romantic dinner. The kitchen is equipped with built-in Neff cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and washer/dryer appliances and the microwave is an 850watt Panasonic standing on the black granite worktop. For those who like their coffee there is a Bosch Tassimo coffee maker or a caffetiere if you prefer. Naturally, there is a teapot for tea lovers. Crockery and glassware is stored in the wall units and plate rack, with cutlery, and a range of cooking pots, pans and dishes kept in the cupboards beneath the worktop. To the right of the flat entrance door is a small lobby with a coat rack leading to the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom has a duck egg blue theme with a new Staples Grandeur double bed, oak side tables and bedside lights. Cotton bed linen and anti allergy quilt and pillows add to the comfort of your nights rest. A comfortable leather armchair sits in one corner with a Laura Ashley floor lamp behind for softer lighting. An oak chest of drawers has the hairdryer in the small right hand drawer, plus the hanging space in the built-in wardrobe allow space for lots of clothes. Inside the wardrobe is the ironing board and steam iron together with the boiler. The screen blind and curtains by Forme match those in the lounge. The bathroom is white and slate grey tiles, with bath and shower, wash basin and toilet and Grohe basin, bath and shower fittings. There is a wall-mounted grabrail to assist getting in and out of the bath. A large chrome towel rail keeps the room warm and helps dry the towels. Winchester was the ancient capital city of Wessex and England from the days of King Arthur. It has been a garrison town and the final home of Jane Austen. So there is a considerable amount of history to explore. The City is well provided with a wide range of types and price range of pubs, restaurants, cafes and bars to suit all pockets and tastes. Leisure activities are catered for with walks, cycle paths and nature trails in the City, through the nearby countryside and a short distance away in the South Downs National Park. Both the Winchester University and the School of Art (part of Southampton University) are based here and the City also plays host to a variety of annual events and festivals. Winchester is rich in the historic relics and archaeology of King Arthur’s Anglo Saxon capital. There is the Great Hall with a replica of King Arthur’s round table, Winchester Cathedral (started in 1079), the ruins of Wolvesey Castle, City Museum and Hyde Abbey ruins where King Alfred is supposed to have been buried. Walks around the centre highlight different historical aspects i.e. the Tudor, Military or the Jewish Walks. There has been a military presence around Winchester since the Iron Age, centred on Peninsular Barracks, and that proud history is celebrated in several museums within the old Barracks area, of which the Ghurka Museum is probably the best known. Next to some of the Winchester College buildings in Kingsgate St is the house, now privately owned, where Jane Austen spent the last months of her life. The High Street is the main shopping area, literally 5 minutes walk from the flat, with Jewry Street, Parchment Street, The Square, and The Brooks intersecting at its top, middle and bottom. The High Street provides a selection of small supermarkets, jewellery, fashion, books, mobile phone and charity shops to tempt the visitors. Jewry Street is full of restaurants and cafes i.e. Loch Fyne or Josie’s Cafe and Bistro. Parchment Street and The Square both have an eclectic mix of boutique style shops, Forme for a wonderful selection of Italian ornaments and fashion accessories and Dinghams for all types of cookery items, to mention but two. The Brooks contains the bigger retailers Primark, T.K. Maxx, Waterstones and HMV. Pubs in the City are many and varied from the historic Royal Oak in St Georges St to the modern style in O’Neill’s (Upper High St), or the riverside Bishop on the Bridge. Celebrity chef restaurants are well represented by Rick Stein, River Cottage and Brassiere Blanc. The Hotel du Vin chain started in Winchester and remains there still in Southgate St. The Ivy restaurant from London has the Winchester Brassiere at the upper end of the High St. Italian, Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish restaurants all vie to test your taste buds together with more traditional fish and chips, gastro-pubs and the chain restaurants of Wagamamas, Ask Italian, Presto etc. McDonalds are, of course, in the centre. Cafes abound with small independents, e.g. Frieda’s Tearoom in Parchment St and the Refectory at the Cathedral, as well as the national chains Costas, Starbucks and a variety of others in between. There are plenty of opportunities for leisure pursuits with walks i.e. around the City, over the Water Meadows to St Cross Hospital (where you can still ask for the ‘Wayfarer’s Dole” – a glass of beer and some bread), across to St Catherine’s Hill and on to the Hockley Viaduct Way, or to Durngate and the Nature Reserve and Walk. There is also a network of cycle paths around the area. Winchester is on the edge of The South Downs National Park which offers further leisure opportunities outside the City. A wide range of events and Festivals are held on a regular basis, visit the Tourist Information Centre in the Guildhall in Broadway at the bottom of the High Street for further details. Other regular events include: • Farmer’s Market (Each month and mid-month) • Criterium and CycleFest (June, annually) • Hat Fair (July, annually) • Wine Festival (November, annually) • Christmas Market and Ice Rink (November/ December, annually)

  • This has to be the best Airbnb in the city. The flat has been beautifully refurbished and modernised and is spotlessly clean. No expense has been spared and the bed is very comfy. The location is perfect, a couple of minutes walk from the shops, yet in a lovely quiet street and with the added benefit of a private parking space. Jean is a perfect host; she is friendly, she replies quickly to messages, she was flexible over check-in she couldn't have done more to give us a perfect break in Winchester. Thank you Jean, we will be back!

  • Just got home from a lovely weekend away. We’ve only been away with our 1 year old twice before so still learning what to take / leave at home. Catherine has thought of pretty much everything from the world oden trike to bamboo children’s tableware. I had to message Catherine quite a bit with lots of questions and I can’t fault her responses / help. Great location for visiting family in the area and an amazing farm shop/ kitchen over the road.

**monthly bookings available for £1500 all in, so do enquire if looking for something longer than a short break** Located in the very centre of Winchester, in a courtyard setting, No.1 The Old Printworks is a cosy and stylish apartment within a beautifully restored period building. Only a few minutes walk from the train station, local restaurants and the high street, the apartment is in the perfect location to explore the city.
Furnished to a high quality and standard, the apartment has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable and stress free!
Winchester is a beautiful city, full of history, with many interesting sights such as the Cathedral and The Great Hall. St Catherine's Hill is within easy reach, where you can walk to the highest point in Winchester and take in the views. London is only an hour away by car or train to Waterloo.
  • Great location for exploring Winchester. Clean, modern, comfortable. Claire was very responsive, flexible and accommodating. Thoroughly recommend!

  • We had a last minute cancellation and managed to book Mark's place for a long weekend the day before we were due to arrive. The place was very clean and definitely felt cozy whilst sheltering from the bad weather. Kitchen was well equipped for all of our needs and very quick commminciation when neeeded. Would recommend.

    Chris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I seriously wrote this review sitting at my home in Chongqing, China, 10,000 kilometers away. When I checked out, AirBnB reminded me to write a review. I think it was disrespectful to Claire's behavior. This time I came to Britain to spend the Chinese New Year with a total of 15 days. In addition to four days in Scotland and one day in London, the other 9 days lived in Claire's house (Jubileehouse & printworks). It is evaluated from 4 aspects, and I hope that everyone who is still hesitating to book Claire's house can be helpful: 1) Location: Jubilee House is 3 minutes walk from the train station and 5 minutes from the city center. Printworks is 3 minutes from the city center and 5 minutes from the train station. Both are super convenient, don't worry about traffic. 2) Living environment: jubileehouse is a brand new and modern style. The kitchen is well-equipped, and it is no problem to deal with Chinese food. Fit young couple. Printworks is slightly older, but more pyrotechnic. In a small yard, the corner is the city center, and the rooms are more local in style. I felt comfortable for five days. 3) Cost-effective: To be honest, I have done a lot of strategies, because spending the New Year with my girlfriend ca n’t be too bad, but it also needs to be able to save the province. Wen Che is an elderly city, and the city is not large. It can be considered to find a house at this price in the downtown area Yes, the savings in transportation costs are huge, and the cost of living time is correspondingly reduced. This is very important, especially suitable for short-stay tourists. No one wants to waste time on traffic every day. 4) Host communication: I can only say that I am really friendly and caring. On the last day, I returned to Heathrow on the evening of the flight. After a delay of two o'clock to check out, there was no additional cost. Some small problems (can't find a place, Wi-Fi, hot water, etc.) were communicated and resolved in time, which is really great. The above 4 points are the real feelings that I lived in Claire's house in Wincher, which also greatly enhanced my journey happiness and harvested what I wanted most. I hope you don't hesitate, it will be great value for money.

    * Coronavirus message: Please be assured that we maintain extremely high standards of cleanliness. As our reviews demonstrate, this home is consistently found by reviewers to be sparkling clean. This commitment will continue during these times of heightened concern with extra attention paid to areas like light switches, banisters, door handles and seats. We have reduced the volume of blankets and crockery etc that are usually available and ask guests to play their part to mitigate the risks to the cleaning team, such as stripping beds at the end of your stay and putting your waste directly into the external bin. We are currently only accepting bookings of a week or longer and maintaining a three day gap between guests. We hope this provides you and us with the additional security required at this time. * LOCATION Amazing location, 5 minutes from everything. Turn right and you have the cinema and a cosy pub on your doorstep along with access to the train station and the top of the high street, turn left and you have views of Winchester Cathedral and St Catherine's Hill as you walk down towards the Wykeham Arms and carry on to the Cathedral and City centre via quiet old streets full of curiosities and history. Canon Street is one of the most favoured streets in Winchester. Step outside and you can see the top of the cathedral and walk down to one of the best pubs in town and the ancient university streets, it feels like a different world. It's our home part of the time, so it feels cosy and warm with all the things you need to enjoy your stay.
  • Brilliant location, brilliant host and brilliant place. Sophie was super helpful in advance of our trip, the house is just as described and the perfect base to explore Winchester.

  • The property is beautifully finished and so cosy. Everything we needed was there and lots of lovely touches. There were 2 adults in the small room and we were very comfortable Very close to the centre and we did a lot of walking and exploring. The welcome pack was very informative and we ate at one of the pubs - a great experience. It’s a great location and great place to stay, relax and enjoy Winchester

  • A lovely warm place to stay that’s well equipped and comfortable. Being able to park off road a large estate car was fantastic. We recommend a trip to the other end of Canon St to the Wykeham Arms. We also enjoyed the guide tour around the Cathedral. There is a lot of Jane Austin stuff to see too. There is so much to see and do in Winchester and this AirBnB puts you at the heart of it. Thank you to Sophie for making our stay wonderfully. It was a great birthday treat for my wife.

  • Our sending time staying here and everything is just so thoughtful considered here that it is very much like a home away from home. A well-appointed kitchen and all the little conveniences for my 1 year-old just made our stay so much more pleasant! Thank you Sophie!

  • A beautiful house in a fantastic location. A 5 minute walk into the city centre! We stayed as two couples and even though the second bedroom is a little cosy, we found we had plenty of room.

  • Sophie’s house was perfect for us and our two children, aged one and three, to explore Winchester. It is such a great space and beautifully decorated. We loved it. And Sophie went out of her way to accommodate us in our last minute change to our schedule. The location is also perfect - right next to the city centre, but down a lovely quiet street. And the off-street parking is a real bonus. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be back to stay again!

  • Great place in a great location with parking - added bonus in Winchester city centre. The bedrooms are nicely made up. The bathroom is tight on space - for putting cleaning products out - so have a wash bag for your things. The host is extremely responsive and helpful. A great location for a couple of days in Winchester.

  • Great amenities. The downstairs bedrooms and bathroom was ideal for my elderly mother. The house had everything we needed and was ideal as a base for our wedding. Spotlessly clean and some lovely touches for when we arrived. Very good communication prior to and throughout the stay. An excellent Airbnb.
