  • We had a great time staying at Suzy’s place. It has a great location near Chichester, Arundel and a 20 minute drive to the beach! The place itself was fantastic and had everything we needed for a wonderful little weekend away! Suzy was great at responding and made us feel welcome!

  • Great location within easy travelling distance of Arundel, Chichester, Portsmouth and other seaside towns. The property is well cared for with everything you could want for a pleasant stay, including a very well stocked kitchen. We visited during February and the rooms were warm and cosy, especially so if we kept the internal doors closed. The tiled floors are a bit cold under foot, so bring your slippers! As others have mentioned the cabin is immediately adjacent to the owner’s house, but they keep their blinds shut so it doesn’t feel like you’re overlooked. One window in the lounge and the front door don’t have curtains, adding these would greatly add to the sense of privacy and make the place even cosier. If you’ve checked the location on street view you’ll see the cabin is next to the road, but the road is quiet and we were hardly aware of any traffic noise. Suzy is a great host, friendly and helpful and she arranged some nice touches such as providing croissants, jam, butter and milk and fresh flowers in a vase. We will definitely stay here again if we’re in the area.

    Benjamin2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous lodge, perfect for a get away in the country side. Very cosy (although slippers did help on the beautiful stone floors) and perfect for escaping the cold and grey January days.

    Natalie2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Suzy’s lodge was beautiful, spotlessly clean and had everything that you need for a relaxing time. The location is great ,within easy reach of Arundel Castle,Chichester and Bognor. We appreciated the extra touches on arrival. We are planning to return soon.

  • This is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay and because it is self-contained and self-catering, is very good value. The seaside is not far away and there are many places of interest locally. It is a well equipped, clean space with a comfortable bed. The en-suite shower room is small, but functional with a roomy shower and plenty of hot water. The host is friendly and made check-and check-out very easy. It was a real “home from home” which I can heartily recommend!

    Mary2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay, immaculately clean with lots of information about the surrounding area and excellent links to get to Brighton, Chichester or Portsmouth. The marmalade is amazing also.

Our cosy and elegant Victorian cottage is set in a picturesque West Sussex village on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Recently completely renovated and modernised, 'Camomile Cottage' is particularly convenient to the South Coast, Goodwood, Chichester and Arundel. With an abundance of walks, bike rides and places to eat and drink within easy reach, our cottage is the perfect base for relaxing and exploring the beautiful countryside and culture of the South of England.
'Camomile Cottage' in Walberton is an ideal and cosy Victorian bolt hole in a picturesque village setting. With parts dating back to the 1700s, the cottage was extended in 1895 and recently completely renovated and modernised in an 18 month labour of love. The cottage now boasts quality fixtures and fittings, many of which are bespoke, all aimed at offering complete comfort and convenience. The two bedrooms sleep four people comfortably and offer good quality bed linen. In the bathroom and en-suite you will find mini toiletries and hotel grade fluffy white towels. There is a fully equipped kitchen if preparing a feast is your thing, a dining room complete with a full size table and chairs and an up-right piano. The sunny beach-themed breakfast room is the ideal place for a morning cup of tea or coffee. In the sitting room there are two sofas to relax on in front of the log burner. There is gas central heating, Wi-Fi, Sky TV, a DVD Player and a reading library, a selection of board games, walking and cycling guides and a local ordinance survey map, all for you to use and enjoy during your stay. In the south-facing garden you will find a dining table and chairs for al fresco dining. A pretty pergola terrace, with seating and coffee table, offers shade from the mid day sun and a romantic spot for sitting around the fire pit at night. The old espaliered pear tree bears ripe fruit in September - feel free to help yourself to a sample. There is on street parking available directly outside the cottage. 'Camomile Cottage' is fantastic as either a base for touring the delights of West Sussex and its neighbouring counties or as a cosy romantic retreat.
Within a stone's throw there is an invitingly quirky pub, 'The Holly Tree' which offers good food and drink all day. A little further up The Street there is a convenience store, a post office with cafe and even a hairdresser if needed! Drive for a few minutes in either direction and you'll find more excellent places to eat and drink. In Barnham you will also find fantastic Fish and Chips, Indian, and Chinese food, as well as a Co-Op convenience store and Tesco Express where you can stock up on a larger range of provisions. A plethora of events and festivals regularly take place in the area, from Goodwood's Motor Racing, Horse Racing, Festival of Speed and Revival, to Arundel and Chichester Festivals. There are a number of gorgeous award winning beaches nearby, eg The Witterings or Littlehampton, with cafes and water sports on offer. Alternatively there are endless walking, cycling and riding trails all over the county.
  • Sally’s cottage is truly a one of a kind on Airbnb. Thoughtful touches everywhere, spotlessly clean. A real credit to Sally and Airbnb.

  • Wonderful Victorian house, original features and modern touches. Beautifully clean and lovely and homely. Can’t recommend highly enough.

    Jonathan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a place to stay in West Sussex between Chichester and Arundel I recommend this cottage. Easy parking in front of the house. Excellent facilities, beds really comfortable, en suite and a separate bathroom. Kitchen very well equipped and a beautiful garden with outside seating. . Sally left a starter pack of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. A perfect start to our weekend break. Thank you

    Maggie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Camomile cottage is just perfect. This was our first time staying in an Airbnb property and I’m not sure anything else will come close to matching it. Sally has thought of everything to make sure guests are comfortable. The interior design is to such a high standard and every room well equipped with those little extra touches. There’s plenty of books, dvds and games to keep you entertained and lots of useful local information. We enjoyed 4 nights stay here and made good use of the cosy log fire on an evening.  Unfortunately we were out visiting family and friends quite a lot so didn’t get chance to use all the facilities or experience the garden but can imagine it would be lovely in the spring and summer months.  Sally was a perfect host and even decorated the cottage with a Christmas tree and other decorations which was a thoughtful touch. If you are looking for a home from home in a tranquil setting close to lots of amazing places to explore then this is the place to stay. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Thank you Sally.

    Elise2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This most beautiful air bnb we had ever stayed in and we frequent a lot! The house is ridiculously well equipped, better than my own house! Had a lovely stay here and particularly enjoyed the log walks followed by a crackling fire.

    Hannah2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is an absolutely fantastic place for a weekend getaway! It is very cosy with lots of modern amenities and a fab dvd collection. We really enjoyed our stay and walking around the area. We actually spent more time in the cottage than we planned as it was so cosy! Sally was brilliant in keeping with touch before, during and after our stay which was very reassuring. We can’t wait to go back!

    Nicholas2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A true 5 star home away from home, everything you could need and more, can’t recommend highly enough - for us a much need break from the city was made even better by Sally’s wonderful place will definitely return when back in the area again

  • Lovely little place, nice location and beautiful scenery to wake up to.

    James2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing wooden cabin. Great space for relaxing and watching tv. The space is really cozy and much bigger than what the pictures suggest. Beds are actually some of the best I’ve slept in for a while - super comfy and great for escaping the cold. Would highly recommend. Definitely going to return.

    Fabrizio2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The space is so clean, cosy and comfortable - we had a fantastic stay here. Also really appreciated the wine and chocolates - was a very thoughtful touch.

    Sally2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had such a lovely time at the log cabin- lovely to come into a bottle of rose, chocolates, milk in the fridge, tea bags etc and to top it off a few Christmas decorations! It was so cosy, comfortable and peaceful in the cabin that we did not want to go out and do all the things we had planned to do around the area and when we did go out the kids were desperate to get back to the cabin! We would definitely recommend and really look forward to returning.

    Joanna2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, well equipped property with an amazing location and stunning views. Also some very nice touches that go along way, complimentary wine and chocolates especially. Highly recommended.

    Pete2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Second time staying here for a work trip with a colleague. Excellent facilities, totally private and really relaxing after a hard day at work. Just so easy and so comfortable.

    Nicola2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is perfect for a weekend getaway. Very spacious and well designed! Loved the view from the front door 😍

    Jessica2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Better even than the pictures suggest! Cosy and warm...radiators everywhere and easy to adjust the system. So toasty we turned some radiators off! Stylish ergonomic space...gorgeous! Jack replied to my few questions and requests swiftly...even though I then learnt he was in another country! Great communication was much appreciated, as we were a last minute booking so needed to know. The veranda was a joy, especially as it rained for our overnight stay. Our toddler granddaughter was able to enjoy fresh air and look out on to the beautiful autumn farmland and it’s animals. Indeed, all four adults sat on the veranda at night and enjoyed the evening peace. We would stay again in a heartbeat and recommend Choller Lodge to all who will listen to us!!

It's also located just on the edge of a National Trust estate with lovely hiking and mountain biking. It's also about 20 mins drive from a number of beaches, and historic market towns.

  • The Bothy is a sweet little retreat, perfect, as centrally positioned for visiting this part of West Sussex and beyond. Although near the main road, remains quiet. The Bothy is spotlessly clean and has a super homely feel. Sue and ken are charming hosts and always eager to help. Parking is easy and there is outside space to relax. Attached to the main house with its own entrance, our self contained one bedroom annexe is in a quiet private road with a sunny garden terrace. Goodwood, Arundel and Chichester are close by as are beautiful beaches including the Witterings.
Spacious and contemporary in a lovely quiet road. Double or twin beds. New for Autumn 2014, new luxury 'Silentnight' mattresses, pocket sprung damask covered comfort, a choice of bedside tables and new 'touch' activated bedside lights.
The road we live in is very quiet with no street lighting. You really feel you can relax and enjoy being in the country with amenities nearby
  • We have stayed at this B&B twice now, in summer and winter. The accommodation is ideal for both. In the summer we sat out on a terrace enjoying the large and attractive garden, and our winter stay was warm and cozy. Guests have control over the heating which was more than adequate. The bed is large and comfortable and the contemporary shower powerful and efficient. On both our visits the accommodation has been spotlessly clean and well furnished with every convenience. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and always at hand should there ever be any problem. This must be among the best B&Bs and represents excellent value for money. We hope to come again next year.

    Richard2019-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quiet space away from the hustle and bustle. Everything you need for a relaxing break. Warm and cosy with a beautiful garden to enjoy. Thanks for a great stay.

    Julie2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Rob and Alison could not have done more to help us whilst we were doing up our house. They kindly let us use their washing machine and Have us fresh linen weekly throughout the stay. The flat has a lovely view out onto the garden in a nice, peaceful location with parking on the drive.

    Harriet2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully clean, spacious and comfortable annex in a beautiful location with lovely gardens. The hosts are extremely lovely and gave us a really warm welcome. There are some really nice, thoughtful touches in the property, with a fantastic book selection to peruse and all amenties one needs for a self-catering home-from-home; we will most certainly be staying again! Thank you so very much.

    Amy2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very clean and well maintained. Rob and Alison try to make the life and travel a little bit easier. The garden is spectacular. And if you are in luck, try the Sussex local variety honey stocked in the annexe. 😀

    Vijay2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish, luxurious, peaceful and immaculate, with a warm personal welcome. We'd love to come back again and explore more beaches...

    Naomi2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here. Rob and Alison were great hosts! We would definitely stay here again. Really clean and lots of things to make our time comfortable. It felt like a real home from home! We just wantes to stay longer!

    Lauren2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stay at an Airbnb and we were very impressed with the whole experience. Rob & Alison are super hosts, very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is a self-contained annexe of a large house in a very quiet private road. It is well equipped and spotlessly clean and comfortable. We were especially impressed with the large selection of books in the "library" to suit any taste. The garden is wonderful and we were lucky to have good weather and were able to enjoy the sunshine on the private patio. West Sussex has lots of attractions for tourists and Barnham is well placed to visit them. Arundel is a must!

Walberton Walberton itself has a variety of pretty period properties, a useful parade of shops and a picturesque village pond as well as the obligatory village pub and a number of footpaths. . Chichester city and Arundel, with their many restaurants, are also within easy driving distance. • We loved our stay here. The house is amazing, with a beautiful garden out the back which is like a little retreat to hide in. Communication was quick and useful throughout. Check in and check out were very straightforward. The room was just what we needed with an incredible power shower to be away any cobwebs. The pool felt lovely and warm but we didn't get time to enjoy. I will say a big thanks to Chris for fresh coffee on Sunday morning! Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay here and we'll stay again. Thanks

  • If you want a beautiful barn this is for you! Spacious, clean , beds on the landing may put some parties off but we loved it !! Jo was so kind and bought us hurricane lamps in case lights went out !! We loved it so much we want to book again !!!!! 👍🏻😊

    Claire2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is fantastic for a family gathering or close friends. We were celebrating my 30th and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. We did find it a bit difficult to keep the volume to a low enough level as the other holiday lets are very close by and if 15 people are joining in the conversation it can become quite bassey. We had two very light sleeping babies with us and thought we would use them as a sound guide, as in if they woke up we were probably being too loud and wanted to be sensitive to the other holiday makers. However, they didn’t wake and we still had complaints from the other residents about noise which was a shame and made us wonder if there was any sound proofing that could be done in the small holiday let bedrooms as they really seem to be able to hear everything. Having said that, apart from noise issues we literally could not have made this venue any better! Jo has thought of everything and was very gracious when a candle got broken and a tea towel got taken home by accident! Jo was so friendly which makes staying somewhere a real pleasure! We have made such special memories at the barn and are coming away from the experience with positivity and warmth. The sitting room has a fantastic open plan lay out and having dinner together in the main hall at the big table was really atmospheric. The bedrooms were beautiful and had lovely views of the surrounding farm land. The driveway was huge and fit 7 cars comfortably with room to turn around. The master bedroom was an absolute show stopper with a beautiful big bath which made relaxing very easy. Everything was spotless and the barn was warm on arrival which made it very inviting. If we could do it all over again we SO would!!! This barn is a very special place!! Thanks so much Jo, what a lovely host ❤️

  • I (and a large group) were in the area for a wedding. Jo's place was the perfect size for our group and the space was really well configured for old friends to be able to catch up and spread out. Although i was apprehensive about only having one shower between 14 it actually worked out really well. Lounge and dining space was ideal for our group. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Cosy little room with en-suite shower facilities and small tea and coffee area. The pool house is at the end of the garden with its own private entrance across the lawn and along the side of the pool. Guests are welcome to use the pool and deck in the summer months. We are 10 minutes from Arundel, the entrance to the South Downs National Park. Close to lots of amenities and tourist attractions. 5 miles from the beach.
I can make a hair dryer and iron available if needed but do not leave them in the pool house because of the limited space. I will arrange directly with guests as to when it is convenient to top up the fridge, tea and coffee etc. so as not to intrude on your space. The fridge is stocked with water, milk and orange juice and also breakfast items which include croissants, ham & cheeses, butter and jams etc. It there is anything else you would like, let me know and I will arrange for it to be in your room ready.
Our home is along a quiet dead end lane and next to a real old fashioned local pub. The property backs onto fields on 2 sides and is generally very quiet.

Beautiful rooms, set in a large 18th century farmhouse in the heart of Sussex. Full of antiques, quirky oddities and historic charm. 10 minutes by train to Chichester 10 minutes by car to historic Arundel
If you enjoy a walk and don’t want to drive you can walk across the fields from the back of our house to Walberton Village. There is a pub for a drink or lunch called The Holly Tree. There is also a small children’s playground and playing field..You can also take a slightly longer walk through the field past the golf course and pretty village church to The Black Horse pub at Binsted which has a lovely garden to sit in. Food is served as well. If it’s cold come back to our open fire in the winter or a refreshing swim in the swimming pool in the Summer.
  • We had a lovely stay. Lots of space and made to feel very welcome. Lots of nice places a short drive away. Two very friendly dogs and our young son very much enjoyed petting them, feeding the fish in the big pond and exploring the garden. We could have done with a stair gate at the top of our stairs, but we managed fine (our son is a bit of a lunatic...!) Our hosts were very generous and surprised us with lots of thoughtful gestures. Highly recommended!

  • We had a wonderful stay! Such a gorgeous house. We had loads of space - 2 large bedrooms, living room and bathroom all to ourselves. Really comfy and stylish with great books and toys for the kids. Amazing hosts - very tolerant of our kids playing with their dogs and spending hours in the lovely heated pool. • Jan and her husband hosted my family for one night and were perfect hosts, so friendly and so helpful. The farm house was great, the grounds are fabulous , we took our dog and he loved it too.

  • Superb house and grounds. Spotlessly clean and a fantastic heated pool. A beautiful place to stay and my family and I would highly recommend it. Many thanks

  • I stayed here for two nights with my best friend and my two girls. We loved our stay and the pool was amazing. My girls loved the two very friendly dogs. The rooms were beautiful and the gardens were amazing. We would stay again.

  • We all really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Jan was very hospitable. The space was perfect for the 3 of us (plus our 5 month old twins and dog). I’m over 6ft tall so the second room was a bit of a challenge to move around in as the ceiling is low but I survived without banging my head. The garden was absolutely lovely and big enough for our dog to have a run around in the morning. The pool was a bonus and a perfect way to cool down from the heat (it was one of the reasons why we chose Jan’s place). There are some lovely places to visit nearby and some great pubs - we particularly enjoyed The Black Horse. We’d definitely return!

    Rachelle2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely charming home and hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

    Dawn2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • House is amazing, lots of outside space and lovely pool! Jan was very helpful and accommodating. The room itself was massive big enough for a family of 4.

Little touches like the milk and cookies made us feel welcome and having a quick chat with both Tamsin and Phil was perfect. Lovely quiet room with all the mod cons.. we will definitely return next year

"The Hideaway" is situated in Houghton, very close to the point at which the South Downs Way crosses the River Arun. The oak framed garden room offers studio style open plan living space with double bed, well equipped kitchenette & separate bathroom. The doors open onto a garden area to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining or simply just to soak up the sun & offer beautiful panoramic views of the South Downs. Houghton is also a mid-way point on the South Downs Way making it the perfect stop over
Located 300 metres from the South Downs Way, the 17sqm studio sleeps 2 very comfortably on a double bed on the ground floor. There is also a mezzanine bunk area accessed via a ladder (restricted headroom) with 2 single floor mattresses so the space would suit couples, 2 nimble friends or even a family with one or 2 small children (albeit at a squeeze!). Please let us know your sleeping configuration preferences at the time of booking. The kitchenette provides a sink, fridge/freezer box, kettle, toaster, microwave and induction hob. A light breakfast of cereals, bread, butter, jams, tea, coffee and milk is provided but if you have any specific requirements upon arrival we will be more than happy to accommodate your request. The bathroom comprises a WC, sink and shower which is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, towels, hair dryer and mirror allowing for light travelling (essential for you hikers and cyclists out there!). The studio also offers free Wi-Fi access, freesat TV/DVD player and Alexa-enabled Bluetooth speaker with free access to Spotify digital music service. The area benefits from very good mobile reception. Also within walking distance is Amberley Railway Station, two lovely pubs (The Bridge Inn and the George & Dragon) both serving lunch and dinner and a riverside café that caters for breakfast, teas, lunch, pizzas and more recently self-hire river cruises. The George & Dragon, Houghton offers breathtaking views of the South Downs and is reputedly one of the oldest 3 pubs in Sussex. It has a wealth of charm & character and said to have been a stop-off point for King Charles II following his defeat at the Battle of Worcester. The nearby, picturesque village of Amberley with its pretty thatched cottages has a tea rooms, village stores (useful for lunch supplies) and a further two pubs! During the colder months the South Downs can get rather muddy in places so if you intend to explore the area we would highly recommend bringing suitable footwear. A unique attraction of the area is its International Dark Sky Reserve status making our location the ideal place for a spot of stargazing (on a clear night, of course!). Dark Skies are areas where you can look at the night sky without the light pollution created by street lights etc. so if you are checking in at night the drive and garden lights are on a sensor but the surrounding area will be dark, very dark! For those walking or cycling the South Downs Way we can provide a baggage transfer service up to 20 miles in an Easterly or Westerly direction for a set fee of £20. Please enquire at the time of booking. If you fancy exploring the South Downs on two wheels, never has it been so easy thanks to the introduction of e-bikes! Chalkpit Trails Mobile Cycle Hire offer a free drop off and collection service from The Hideaway supplying e-bikes and regular mountain bikes. Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance. Perfectly located for Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood.
A stunning area of West Sussex. Houghton is a hamlet in the South Downs National Park making it perfect for hikers and cyclists keen to complete the breath-taking 100 mile stretch of national trail running from Winchester to Eastbourne. It is on the River Arun, where it has a bridge to a rural part of Amberley, 3 miles (5 km) north of Arundel. The Monarch’s Way long-distance footpath (which follows Charles's supposed route from Worcester to Shoreham-by-Sea) descends from the Downs to the west into the village, before heading south along the river towards Arundel. In May 2016 the South Downs National Park became the world’s newest International Dark Sky Reserve, only the 2nd in England and 12th in the world! Across the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve, some of the best locations for stargazing are already designated as Dark Skies Discovery Sites, offering sweeping views of the starry skies. One of the darkest locations in the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve is at Bignor Hill (3.5 miles from The Hideaway) between Arundel and Petworth. This remote hilltop location offers extensive views of the night sky in all directions and delivers exquisite views of the Milky Way on a moonless night in late summer and mid-winter.
  • Great location in the South Downs especially if you are looking to go walking. The space was lovely and as described, perfect for 2 adults. Cosy at night and gorgeous views from the breakfast table in the morning. Would have no hesitation in recommending!

They offered me lift to the train station too. They have lovely dinning room with beautiful antique furnitures, my room is single, upstairs, very clean tidy, sunny, with wardrobe, full length mirror, chest drawers, hairdryer. Shared Bathroom is very clean, they clean it every day. Breakfast is very good too. They have a dog but very quiet:) The host is very friendly, warm, relaxed and very helpful. Downview is a double room with views going out over the South Downs to Arundel. I also have a single room available for airbnb guests. Downview is offered at a single price for 1 person and extra £10 per night for the second person. Although we share the bathroom I have a separate toilet and my rule is that my guests get first choice. If you wish to stay longer I would be happy to discuss this with you. I am happy for you to share the kitchen and lounge and TV and look forward to seeing you.
I have a built in wardrobe and 2 small tables in the room and a table lamp. The views from the bedroom look over the South Downs and Arundel. Although, I have a shared bathroom I always ensure my guests have first use of the shower.
I Love Yapton because it is still a safe village and holiday sea side atmosphere which means we are laid back and relaxed here. Artists love Yapton for its sky. I love my views across the fields to Arundel and the Downs and being close to Clymping beach. It was once a smugglers village and we once had a canal linking to the river Arun. We have old churches here from the 10th to 11th Century. Our Coop has a fresh bakery with French croissants, a good butchers if you want to cook here. Fish and chips i recommend Oscars in Luttlehampton. There are good farmshops nearby and cafes and restaurants in Arundel 4 miles away. A Harvester in Littlehampton. Something for everyone. A few pubs and local brewery's but you need a car although you could walk to the Murrell Arms. There is Amberly Museum and 20 minutes from the Weald and Down museum. Near to Bosham and 20 minutes from Chichester or 8 miles. Near to Tangmere museum re the the RAF and 20 minutes from Highdown Gardens set on the chalk downs and great for a pucnic or walk to Hanaker windmill and take in views across the top of the hills . Close to the Trundle with views across Goodwood race course and Slindon woods walk to the Folly for views out to sea and into the Beech wood for a walk. Near to Slindon and Eartgam woods with the Roman parh and a visit to the Roman ruins in Fishbourne 30 minutes away. The new coastal cycle path is being completed and stop at Felpham to see Willuam Blakes house. Visit Arundel castle or the Catholic cathedral. Close to Bogrove catholic church with it's labarynth and cloister ruins . In Yapton we have a fabulous new stained glass window of the tree of life and the sun sets through this window. Lovely church lane takes you past Yaptons old houses and quaint English gardens who needs Kew!

Our converted Forge is close to Chichester, Goodwood, Arundel, Fontwell, the sea and the South Downs.. You’ll love the ambiance, the space, the comfy bed, and the unique character of the building. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
The Forge was last used by a Blacksmith in the 1950s. Recently it has been used by a furniture maker, as an art gallery and art workshop space. Mike also has a pottery in an outbuilding. The large bedroom provided forms a modern space in an old building.
Walberton is a well preserved village with many of the buildings being grade 2 listed and retaining clues to their original use. It has easy access to the A27, Chichester and Arundel being nearby. Fontwell racecourse is 5 minutes away and Goodwood is 20 minutes away by car. There are unspoilt beaches 10 minutes away and easy access to Littlehampton and Bognor. The area is rural with good walking or cycling opportunities.
  • The Forge is a lovely place to spend a relaxing weekend. Mike and Mel were ever so friendly, and provided us with fresh bread and eggs for breakfast. The place was quiet and peaceful. There are two pubs nearby - the Black Horse is a gentle walk across the fields and was perfect for dinner.

    Ben2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A fab stay with Mike and Mel! We were blown away by the little touches during our stay at the weekend. The breakfast was wonderful (freshly baked bread greeted us on arrival!) and the cottage was perfectly located for our friend’s wedding reception down the road. The bed was extremely comfortable and Mike and Mel couldn’t have done enough for us. We will be back and would highly recommended when we want to escape London again.

    Jen2019-10-06T00:00:00Z

  • Great place to stay and enjoyed the fresh eggs and hospitality.Excellent base for walks around Arundel and Bosham and the beaches. On a glorious evening treat yourself to a meal in the garden at the black horse which is a walk across the fields.

  • For us, it was a brilliant place to stay. Just what we like about air BnB’s - a bit different, a bit quirky - such as fresh eggs daily, art works a-plenty, access to a nice garden, handy walk across fields to the pub, fresh bread and space to stretch out. Fab.

  • I cannot recommend Amanda’s room enough! They were the most lovely hosts, with a gorgeous bed as well as beautifully clean amenities, it was really lovely to chat the owners! And for the price they charge I’d call this a real diamond in the rough if you’re visiting around goodwood!

  • Thank you so much to both you and your husband for being such wonderful hosts and for giving us useful tips & recommendations! We really enjoyed staying in your wonderful home :) It is not many foreign places where I enjoy staying but I felt so comfortable there, seeing how clean, nice and tidy everything is! The White Company is one of my favourite brands and I was really surprised to see the excellent quality of the amenities together with all the little touches. It is much appreciated and it doesn’t go unnoticed. A BIG BIG THANK YOU!

  • House is less than 10 mins away from goodwood in a car, even with the traffic. But is set with a nice and quiet area, perfect for getting a good nights sleep. House was sparkling clean, with a great shower, and a private ensuite with toilet and sink. Amanda is very welcoming, giving us tips on the local area, and the breakfast she prepared was great. Would definitely reccomend.

  • Amanda and Stephen are the most wonderful and welcoming hosts, and this place is fantastic - clean, quiet, warm and cosy. The bed was comfortable and we had all the amenities we needed. Would 100% stay here next time we come to the Chichester area - and especially if we come for Goodwood Revival, which is just around the corner. Amanda and Stephen both have great tips for first-timers and are happy to help with logistics, which is a godsend. Thank you both and we look forward to returning!

  • The house and garden is beautiful set in woodlands/countryside. The room is superb with a very comfortable bed and tea-making facilities and the ensuite washroom is modern and sparklingly clean. Provisions were left in the kitchen if needed. Wendy is the perfect host and very friendly and she and her dog Mollie made my stay extra special.

You will be amazed at the many period features in the cottage and the many special touches incl. fire wood, G&T and milk and so forth in the fridge, candles etc. as well as the very friendly welcome and excellent communication. And the bed was so comfy! Would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

  • Fantastic cottage in the perfect location to explore Arundel. The cottage itself was spotless and had everything needed for a weekend away. Colin & Sandra were lovely hosts, taking the effort to meet us on arrival to show us around and saving a car parking space really close to the cottage. They even got us a card for our wedding anniversary! 10/10 will stay again!

  • Debra and Wayne’s place is great for everything we needed. It had a perfect location for what we needed. It is very cozy and clean. Despite being cold outside we were always warm when we were inside. It is unique in its design and great value for money. Debra and Wayne were great hosts and made sure we were okay. We highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the area and will definitely be back ourselves.

  • Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Debra was wonderful, one of the most beautiful homes I have stayed in. We had a fire every night. Took my daughter to FLIPOUT just down the road. We when for lovely country walks straight outside the property. Played in the garden. It made our start to the New Year incredible. Myself, lola and Olivia can not thank you both enough!

  • Cosy, stylish, clean, quiet. Wonderful place to be reunited with my husband and friends for a wedding. The log burner was lovely to have on and made us feel so comfortable we didn't want to leave. Friendly hosts who quickly provided bedding and a towel for an extra last minute addition. Would definitely recommend staying here, we would stay again if in the area.

    Sian2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A truly lovely little place. So close to Chichester, Goodwood and the sea. We had a very relaxing time there

    Bernadette2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! We stayed at Debra and Wayne's for my birthday weekend and we thought it looked lovely from the pictures but they actually don't do it justice! Everything has been done to the highest standard, so much thought has been put into it, everything you need is there and it's absolutely gorgeous. The wood burner is perfect, the kitchen has everything, the tv is awesome, the mattress on the bed was like sinking into a cloud and the shower... wow! Before we had even left we had decided we would be going back! We actually spent a lot more time indoors than originally planned because it was so lovely and we wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommend!

    Charlotte2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful place to stay, very spacious, lovely location, great kitchen and I loved the spacious bathroom and lounge. What a treat to have a wood burner, will definitely be returning.

This annex cottage is set in the lovely village of Slindon - 5 miles from Arundel with beautiful country walks right from your door and just 15 minutes drive from the beach. There is a shared swimming pool but please note that it is not heated so can be a bit fresh! There is off road parking at the house and a beautiful garden area for you to enjoy.
There is a large open plan living room/kitchen with seating for 4 and a sofa bed which sleeps 2. Upstairs there is a toilet, a very large double bedroom and bathroom (please note that you have to go through the master bedroom to reach the bathroom). Accommodation is basic and a little dated but is in a beautiful rural location and is clean, tidy and has a lovely garden area to enjoy so for couples and families on a tight budget it is just the thing! Pets are allowed with the written permission of the owner and but there is a charge for them - £25 per pet per week for shorter stays - this is reviewed for longer stays. There is a garden area which is free for you to use. It is separate from the main garden area and therefore has some privacy but the chickens and the greenhouse are off this area and therefore the owners do walk through the area on occasion. The chickens are free range so they will often peck around in your garden area. Slindon is very near Arundel which is a tiny market town 49 miles from London near the sea on the South Coast of England.
