We could n’t go out because of the typhoon, but there are super public baths and cafes nearby. We went by car, but supermarket and drugstore are near. I do not know the convenience of transportation by train, but the location is good if it is a car. Above all, we responded to the sudden accommodation request the day before, responded flexibly to check-in and parking, and the response by chat was very fast and we received a reply within 5 minutes thanks to the typhoon I was able to have fun with peace of mind.

Absolute bliss. We spent a whole week at Jhunn and Yoko’s place, in the middle of January, and it was the most amazing find - we had such a great time staying here! The ideal home to spend several days cocooning up and discovering the many charms of a traditional Japanese countryside lifestyle. Jhunn and Yoko are the sweetest of hosts - you’ll love them! The house is full of tasteful decorative touches, delicate attentions and has a general aura of wholesomeness - incredibly welcoming. It is also huge, and as guests you have your own large section of it (3 main room, a spacious kitchen, bathroom + toilet area and a gorgeous, luminous terrace overlooking the garden). Heating solutions abound for your winter stay, and we’d love to return during different seasons to sample more of Jhunn’s amazing vegetable garden. We felt at home here. Such an inspiring and soulful airbnb!

I had a great time at Takaaki-san's place! It's only a station away from Takasaki and it's a really nice and quiet place, not to mention the great view from the veranda. It's right next to the river and a park so it was really nice to be able to walk in the morning and in the afternoon while looking at the mountains. Takaaki-san is a great host and very attentive—I was going out on a rainy day, we didn't see each other before I went out of the door but he quickly rushed outside to make sure I had an umbrella. Overall, a great place with a great host (and a great dog!)

It is a house along the river. I felt that the accommodation space inside was bigger than it looks. I think the common space and bathroom are also large enough. As for the surrounding amenities, 7/11 and hot motte are around 5 minutes on foot. There is a supermarket in the vicinity at Kuragano Station 15 minutes. There is only one station to Takasaki station. If you arrive on foot at night, you may want to use the map / guide application. However, the distance from the main road is assumed to be less than 10 minutes, so there is not much inconvenience. I hope you enjoy it. that's all

Great hospitality from the host. It's kinda like his retirement home. So you will definitely get the home stay like feeling. everything feels like home to me. Can't say much about public transport since we rent a car for our whole trip. And there is no problem with car parking, just make sure you clear with the host first because there is not much car parking space. Overall great place to stay great view by the river great hospitality.

Yaeko was very hospitable, provided bicycles, pointed restaurants, the rooms were well furnished, there was a comfortable Japanese-style warm table, and delicious oranges were prepared, thank you very much. Risa’s place is lovely. It is compact but has everything you need (including indoor slippers, snacks and instructions for everything in English). The area her place is in is also really nice, near the park and river. Risa is great at communicating and the local tips in the guidebook that she has put together are awesome - we ate at both the yakiniku place and ramen place she recommended and they were both delicious. We would definitely stay again.

What an awesome place this is! We are sad we only stayed for 1 night in Gunma. The area is beautiful and this home is too. The rooms are large even though the doorways require someone over 6 foot to duck a little. Excellent amenities, easy to find, easy check in, easy parking, great communication as well. We would definitely stay here again. A fantastic base for our initial d tour!

Francisco is really friendly and gave us many suggestions to explore Karuizawa. We had a great time staying at his place. The cottage wasn't difficult to find, instead, all of the taxi drivers know the way there. If you would like to take a walk, it was about 15 mins away from the station. Staying there was really relaxing. We especially love the public area and the kitchen. It is just as wonderful as I imagined. Highly recommend to stay here!

What an amazing place to stay! The property is a quick 5 minute taxi from the Karuizawa Shinkansen station (790 yen), and a very short walk back to the main street. The rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable - as is the communal area. Francisco and Koji are incredibly helpful and always go above and beyond to ensure comfort. Enjoy your stay!

The cafe/bar downstairs has a nice welcoming charm, but what makes this place really shine is the cheerful, friendly staff. Sleeping quarters are clean with personal outlets for charging your gadgets.

While we were initially unsure about the accommodation we were really awed by the cosy atmosphere and Renee's warm hospitality. All of us loved the authentic rooms and the cosy dining and living area where we enjoyed our sake and card games. Renee also thoughtfully provided 8 bags with towels which we could use to go to the nearby onsen. She also set up the humidifiers in every room so that it would not be so dry. Renee is a thoughtful and great host. I would strongly recommend this place for anyone enroute to Tokyo from Karuizawa.

The rooms and water are very clean and the toilets and baths are spacious and comfortable. The neighborhood hot springs will end at 21:00. A little away from the city of Takasaki, but in a very quiet place, there are multiple rooms where you can gather from a small group of people to a large number of people.

Expect rejuvenation and contentment. I visited on my own and felt very at peace. I went to the temple each morning and explored the local area on foot before returning for an amazing traditional dinner (like really amazing) and a hot tub. It was winter and I felt very comfortable - the Kotatsu was a welcome addition. Thankyou both, if I return to Japan I would love to visit again :)

My stay at Tendou’s temple was nothing short of magical. From the amazing grounds and koi pond, to a personalized morning tour and meditation in his temple, to the amazing gourmet meals he and his wife prepared me to a morning bike ride through Takasaki valley to soak up the scenery. This was truly an experience I will never forget. Thank you so much Tendou! This made my trip to Japan extra special.

An international zen that comes from a young travel enthusiast & temple enthusiast to domestic and foreign artists and VIPs, who are also called the auberge in the mountains about 20 minutes by car from Takasaki Station (with pick-up) It is an inn. You can spend time quietly without doing anything, or get up early and sit in the main hall. A regular temple resident (samurai who opened the temple is a samurai!) And his wife will welcome you, and you will have a conversation at the restaurant and bar at the counter. A temple stay where you can spend a luxurious time and space where you can relax and unwind the stiff heart and body. It is convinced that guests from all over the world are visiting, and it seems that there are quite a few repeaters. Super recommended!

The space surrounded by shoji and niece was like a nostalgic grandparent's house. My wife who stayed with me seems to have remembered the atmosphere of the house where I used to live. Because it was a rainy day, it was a very relaxing space where I could hear the sounds of nature, including the sounds of rain, birds and insects. This is a great Airbnb. Perfect ! Clean, spacious, well decorated. Washing machine, dehumidifier, hair dryer, TV, warner, cooker, plenty of cookery stuff / plate / cup etc. Just one little reminder, there is no built-in Wifi; if you need it, please tell the host to prepare for you. The location is good, closed to the downtown. However, there is no public transportation nearby while you must drive by yourself. Last but not least, the host response quickly.

This house is very close to Tomioka Silk Mill, the world heritage. More than anything, There’s beautifully taradittional room, friendly people first time I met and impressive real life for charming residents. It's so nice. You can also feel otherside of the heritage of Japanese culture (Karaoke, Izakaya bar, Udon and so on).

We took care of one night on the way back from Karuizawa. As you can see in the review, it was clean and stylish! There are a lot of delicious restaurants in the neighborhood and I am very satisfied. If you have the opportunity, I want to stay.

Hana was friendly and it was really fun to walk in the Bairin together in the morning. I was introduced to nearby shops and sightseeing spots, and I was able to enjoy a 180% trip. I was able to experience many things that can only be done here. Thank you very much. It was nice to be able to spend your last student trip here! I want to go again!

I had an exceptional stay at Akima Orchard. Ayumi and Simon opened up their home with warmth (helped by the fire :)), kindness, and openness. The location is beautiful - you’re surrounded by trees, a river, and birds. The house is stunning - excellent design, with lots of glass, to bring the outside inside. It’s pretty much my dream house, and the highlight of my trip. Can’t forget the dog Hanna - she’s a winner

The best stay we ever had from Airbnb. Ayumi and Simon gave us a warm welcome though we arrived a bit late that night. Explain the whole house and the neighborhood clearly in a interesting way. I was looking for a place close to tourist attractions within walking distance from the station, and I was taken care of by the mounting shop. Thanks to Mr. Iriyama's guidance and handmade map, I was able to enjoy Tomioka. CO-JIRO, who was introduced, had cheap and delicious rice.The inn was warmed with a bath and a kotatsu in a wooden vat. Drinking ... I was able to spend a relaxing time. Thank you very much

Located in the center of the old town of Tomioka. Perfect location for sightseeing. When you break through the cobblestone lane unique to Tomioka several times, you will arrive at Nikenya, where a geisha lived during the Meiji era. Check-in is at a local women's clothing store on the back. These procedures add a sense of "living in the town of Tomioka" and provide a warm welcome. The appearance of the building, which would have been intentionally lowered below the original, emphasized the appearance of the building, and with the accumulation of time as an old private house, the fineness of the renovation increased. Once inside, the architect Kokichi Miyazaki has been thoroughly repaired, and the comfort of everyday life and the feeling of living in Tomioka are smooth. When you're here, you'll want to take your legs to the town's canteens and bars. Returning and soaking in a beautiful bathtub, or getting into a kotatsu and curling up, is something that is not very common these days, but it behaves like a matter of course and makes me happy.

I think "Mabushiya" is the best hotel in Tomioka. 1.Great Access: it is near famous sightseeing spots and good restaurants. 2, Clean and comfortable rooms: Mabushiya is a japanese traditional house, but it was renovated recently.I love the bath that is made of woods in this house! 3, Hospitality: Hiroyuki san is very kind.He told me recommended places in Tomioka.The information is very helpful.

The host is amazing and meet us on our way to pick up the key. He speaks very good English and has such a generous spirit. The house is more amazing in person, and even had fresh coffee beans we could grind to make our morning coffee. Great place worthwhile place to stay.

He is very sweet and has a beautiful smile. He is proud of his hometown and has provided us with a lot of information for a smooth tour. And I think it's a reasonable place to stay and see many places at reasonable prices because you can drive to Karuizawa in 40 minutes.

I stayed for one night on my first Tomioka trip. The location was also very good (it was good to walk around the Tomioka Silk Mill, and I could go hiking if I took a train at several stations), and the room was renovated and very comfortable (that that The bath was very satisfying). At night to the first time, because the road was very dark, I was a little scared, and was beside a forest. I woke up the next morning and found a beautiful park. Not far from subway station and ski resort, ten minutes walk. The service was very welcoming and I felt very well looked after skiing back. It was warm and clean. Recommend everyone

Cozy and clean comfortable place, easy to find.

I enjoyed my stay a lot. The room is nice and cozy, has a fridge and a TV; and the public baths are amazing. The location is really quiet and beautiful. Employees in genereal nice and helpful. Only downsides: it wasn't really easy finding the exact location. And one receptionist with orange hair didn't talk english at all and it didn't seem to bother him that I could not understand everything in japanese

The stay was excellent. Although I spent 10 extra minutes to find the correct location first, the inside was very good! The room was clean, and there were free drinks. The bathroom was very good too.

This is a great homestay, with beautiful surroundings, great facilities, elegant decoration, clean and tidy, spotless, the host is very kind, and we drove us when we checked in and out. The self-driving tour is not affected. If you use the JR pass, you can take the Shinkansen to and from Karuizawa or Takasaki. You can buy it and come back. There is a shortcut from the homestay to the Shinkansen station. Right!

Really spacious house with a huge living room! Walk distance to Shinkansen station makes it easy to go to Karuizawa for either shopping or skiing. Rika was so kind - for business reasons we arrived with the last bullet train (10pm) and she came to pick us up by car. The town is a new town that was born after they built the train station, so don´t expect restaurants, convinis or anything (bring as much food as you can!) The house was very warm and it has great mountains views from the little garden in front. We will definetely come back!

It is wonderful old Japanese building. The rooms are spacious and there are all the amenities you need. It is quiet and peaceful for a good nights sleep. It is near an onsen and nature. Motoyasu and Renee are wonderful hosts and are very helpful. I throughly enjoyed my stay and would come back again.

It was used by 8 men and women. We were able to spend comfortably in a large and beautiful house. The host contacted us quickly and was kind.

Wow! Amazing authentic place in the heartland of Japan. Come for the awesome house, stay for the beautiful scenery and delicious local food. If Renee has time, she'll give you tips on awesome sightseeing in the area and all the good hot springs :) This place was absolutely serene and perfect for long or short term stays just to enjoy the area and the peace and quiet. I stayed during fall and the house never felt too cold... in fact, with the sun streaming in, the place keeps quite warm even without a heater! Highly recommend! Thanks Renee and Motoyasu!

We stayed at this place with 6 persons( 4 Adults and 2 kids). The place was very nice, clean and well managed. Rooms were very specious and kids enjoyed a lot. I would highly recommend this place if anyone is visiting Gumma. We stayed after trip back from Gumma Safari Park and it was very convenient.

Even just staying at an old private house is attractive. The room and the kitchen etc are beautifully made, and we prepared a set of bulky towels for traveling and we were able to stay clean. It seems to be a Japanese house, the first floor is open with no partitions. Unlike a narrow hotel, you can stay at ease in a wide place and it is comfortable.

Historic building with all the comforts that you need. A great deal of thought has gone in to making sure that guests have everything they need. Easy to find, convenient to the motorway and very accessible to the mountains.

The house is located across from a lovely lake so we took nice strolls in the morning and evening. It is also close to town so easy access to most places and restaurants. The house itself was spacious and well equipped for our family of four.

I stayed with 7 people. The area was just right, clean and comfortable ^ ^ It was about 10 minutes by car from the station, so it was good because it didn't bother me anywhere. I would like to use it again if there is an opportunity.

The view from the balcony was great! Rich was just right, access to the main points was also good.

I used it with my eight college friends. There was a wood stove and it was a very stylish and cozy space. The location was a bit difficult to understand, but it was quiet, the stars were beautiful and very good. Tableware was also available and I enjoyed myself cooking. For reference, there is a normal size microwave oven and toaster, but no large oven.

Akiko & Yuko are one of the best host I met in my life. I spent such great time in 軽井沢. They told me so many things that I didn’t know and they just helped me so so much. I just want to take my family and friends back to 軽井沢 again and again. It’s such an amazing resort! It’s so beautiful that the red leaves just make my dream created in 絵本 come true.

I stayed with two people per night. Although it was a short time, I was able to stay comfortably! We kindly taught you some recommended spots such as nearby restaurants. We had a plan and were picked up from the ski resort and were very helpful! The children were also friendly and cute. If there is an opportunity to come to Karuizawa, I would like to use it again. Great warm place with a lovely, friendly host. Great location not too far from the station and close to a few restaurants and a 7/11. It was my first time staying at a shared bed & breakfast, but my room was secure with my own private room with passcode lock. If I ever visit Karuizawa again I’ll definitely stay here again!

A lovely House

I stayed during 4 months in this apartment. Since the arrival day until the last day Risa was so kind and always helped me with anything needed. The apartment was beautiful, clean and it also has everything you need in there. I totally recommend to book this place in Maebashi.
