Stayed here with three of my friends. A wonderful experience in Tokyo. We really enjoyed our stay there. A truly homely, private, quiet house in a safe neighbourhood. Even safer since it is located near to the hosts' own house for added assurance and security. Quick access to food and convenience stores nearby, as well as walking distance from the subway station. Very pleasant and kind hosts. They would always be respectful of our privacy yet be proactively offer their help. I do not regret renting this place, and I would absolutely book here again if I were given another opportunity to return to Tokyo.

Akane & Mitsu provides a very clear road map, so that it is easy to reach and very reassuring. This is what I saw one fall in love with the house, very Japanese, very clean, very comfortable. Warm table, so my family and I are very happy night sit together and chat. Thank Akane & Mitsu.

Akane and Mitsu are the sweetest most helpful people on the planet. They made our experience in Tokyo a breeze. I stayed at the Old Folk House with my five month old baby and husband. We loved staying in their home. It had everything that we needed. Akane even provided a diaper pail. The location was very convenient, close to a supermarket, a convenience store and a laundromat. I was surprised and delighted to be able to experience a slower, quiet side of Tokyo. Akane and Mitsu made us feel like we were close friends or family. I will certainly recommend the Old Folk House to anyone I know that will be traveling to Tokyo.

Akane and Mitsu were very welcoming without being overwhelming and were very attentive - a very charming couple. The traditional Japanese home is spacier than regular apartment units and cozy to even chill at home. It provides everything on the listing and beyond to ensure comfort, as if you were visiting a friend's home. The neighborhood is a vibrant old Edo district, presenting a different side of Tokyo than your usual tourist traps. The Sumiyoshi subway stop is not too far, connecting to both the Toei and Hanzomon lines. Japan railway pass holders could take the hike to JR Kinshicho, I suppose. Highly recommended for the culturally sensitive traveller.

I highly reccomend this stay in Tokyo. I felt so welcomed to the city after meeting Akane and Mitsu who are such kind people. There is a reason why they have been voted super hosts. The house provides a great base to explore Tokyo. There is such attention to detail from a heated toilet seat to floor heating under tables. A beautiful experience of japanese style living.

We were pleased to find this accommodation for our first nights in Japan and Tokyo. Akanene and Mitsu are excellent hosts who made ever effort at making our stay easy. The area is full of interesting and delightful micro restaurants and bars that are friendly and provide excellent food. We particularly enjoyed the Soul Bar on the main road to Sumiyoshi Station. Once we learnt the ways of the Tokyo train system, it was very easy getting to wherever we wanted to go.

Great place, large size compared to everywhere else we stayed in Tokyo and indeed Japan. Yes, house was drafty but we expected this (winter, previous reviews). Heating once it got going was effective, table warmer was great touch. Easy to find from local subway station. The walk was not long, although we tend not to travel with much luggage. We'd definitely stay again, albeit next time aim for another time of the year. Thanks again.

Kawano-san was extremely helpful in facilitating our stay in Japan. Not only were directions from the airport (Narita) detailed enough, the directions around Katsushika provided us with great food, shopping and sights to see. The apartment's proximity to the local train station was unbeatable, possibly one of the best places to stay around Japan. The apartment was just as we imagined it to be, cozy enough for a group of four. While its decor makes it extremely pleasant to sleep in, the surrounding is pleasantly quiet enough, without the piercing sound of sirens to wake you from deep slumber. We thoroughly enjoyed our 6D5N stay in Kawano-san's apartment to the extent that if we were to visit Japan again, Kawano-san's apartment would definitely be one of the top accommodation choices for us again. I can absolutely recommend John and LP's gorgeous place in Shibuya. Their attention to detail is impressive and they are fantastic hosts. Their studio has a unique Japanese charm. They made me feel welcome from start to finish. The place has everything you need, and is conveniently located in walking distance from the trendy neighborhoods of Daikanyama, Shibuya and Ebisu. Along with all other reviewers I have to agree: this has been one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had so far.

The apartments are located very close to the Shibuya district, within ten minutes walking time. The rooms are very design sense, see the owner's intentions and interest in life. Quilt a little bit small, but does not affect use. You can also use the blanket inside the door Oh ~ small cabinet with a full range of daily necessities of life; house appliances also quite wide, but did not find an electric kettle pity oh. Terrace planted small plants, where you can smoke on the wall CD player ~ I like ~ garbage needs to be put in the category of trash next to the restaurant downstairs - if you want to experience the local life around Young blocks, shopping in Shibuya, it would be a good choice ~

Evee though I had never met any of John &Lp. But I still feel very close with them. If u want a dreamlike trip, please choose them. intimate hotel and quiet atmosphere, look forward to seeing the next.

LP and Jon are great hosts who are easy to communicate with for any reasonable needs. When we arrived, everything was clean and presentable, along with a personalized welcome note. The room looks lovlier than in pictures and is an intelligently, well-designed, comfortable space that's a simple 8-10 minute stroll to Shibuya Station. The area is very peaceful and local which I am just looking for staying. Everything in the place is quiet nice and comfortable and easy to use (or make the guests feel convenient). It is 5 mins walk to the subway and serveral 24 hour mini markets are just around. It's really a good choice to stay if you are a small group like 3-4 persons. and the most important is the hosts are very kind and did their best to guide you and make your staying wonderful.

The first day of the last two days to Tokyo and have chosen to live in the host family, ideally, are a short distance from Aoto Station and Tateishi Station, to the airport and attractions are more convenient. Infrastructure facilities, a washing machine and a variety of kitchen utensils, feeling of home. The landlord is very enthusiastic, timely answers to the various questions, and when we went to Kyoto to send tram stop, rainy day umbrella also prepared to each of us. Around the house there are quasi drug stores and convenience stores, it is convenient. Good housing!

The host are really nice and considerate, they were provide lots of sightseeing information and the restaurants near around. Also, they are not tired for asking what they can help for us. The most impressive thing is when we arrived, Koji specially bring the Chinese tourist booklet and juice for us even it was raining! The house was tidy and cozy. Everything was complete. I think I would like to live in this place when I visit Tokyo again. And It was really worth to recommend.

Mr. Koji is a very friendly and kindly host. The quilts and beds in the room are extremely comfortable so that we all have a good sleeping quality every night. Besides, the kitchen equipment and tableware are very comprehensive as well,makes us feel like we are at home.

We stayed for 2 nights at first then decided to extend one more night. Apartment was amazing with all the equipments and furnitures, especially the neighborhood, Tateishi. Close to local market and train station. Koji was really helpful even drive us to JR station. The apartment quite small like any other place in Japan yet all things are functional and perfect.

Very quiet and very comfortable accommodation, a short distance from the station, there are restaurants, a supermarket, drug store, audio shop nearby, everything. Most of them need to say is that it was very good, very interesting. Every time we tell intimate interchanges traffic routes, go to the convenience that we also take the Airport Express Line Station. What a treat! If you like unusual housing look no further! This well equipped, comfortable, and cool as hell caravan is perfect. Close to the subway(2 mins away walking) and only a short ride away from Shibuya and Shinjuku, I loved staying there. The commune has loads of food trucks (on your actual doorstep) to cater all diets, from German sausage to vegan but more importantly including a great beer stand! Oh and the team is super helpful and quick to reply to emails. I will definitely stay there again next time I'm in Tokyo.

I stayed in the Caravan for two weeks - the first Airbnb'r and the first person to stay that long. Great time! It's small but good - the location is amazing. Central to everything, and walking distance from a huge amount of tourist attractions and shopping. The Caravan team is friendly and approachable - my (only minor) issues were taken care of promptly. I've given the team feedback and they're going to be improving the Caravan, but one thing isn't easily fixed. This is in a fairly high traffic area - especially on weekends. People are curious - a Caravan is an unusual sight. Be prepared to be in pictures if you're sitting with the curtains open or outside the caravan. That said, the place is emptied and locked up by about 10pm, so you have the space to yourself. The privacy here is not too good. Otherwise, great experience - even in February. Warm and cozy.

This place was excellent, Jesus was kind, friendly and available to us, showing us around the place and introducing us to cool designers working in the space. The space is quirky and cool, and I would stay there again. There's also a great duck soba place down the street, a bath-house and Cafe Kitsune which has the only correct matcha affogato that I am aware of in the entire world.

I had a lot of fun staying in the caravan. It had everything I needed for a comfortable and unique stay. The location is incredible and the hosts were always in touch throughout my stay. I highly recommend this experience for any single or couple looking for a fun and unique stay.

What a cool little airstream in such a neat little community! Loved the surrounding shops and food stands, and the warm welcome we got from Jesus. We stayed for one night, which was perfect for us. Such a unique experience.

Anton and Yoshi were fantastic hosts. Couldn't have asked for better! The apartment was very comfortable, well maintained and very clean. They provided everything we needed and more including towels, shampoo, rice cook, sewing kit. There is air conditioning in both the main room and bedroom which was great considering the hot Japanese weather we had during our stay. We were a group of 4 girls and found the apartment highly accommodating. The pocket wifi was very useful for us especially because we didn't have a travel sim. The hosts responded very quickly to any of our requests. There was a lot of consideration put into making our stay as pleasant as possible. The modem for the home wifi was acting up on the first day and within minutes of letting them know, they came over and looked into it. They ordered a new one and fixed it almost immediately for us, to which we are most thankful for. The location was fantastic. It's a fairly quiet neighbourhood in the middle of the city and within walking distance of the major shopping centres at Harajuku and Shibuya. There are multiple train stations and subways nearby too so getting to Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi are all incredibly easy. The supermarket is just down the road. It was very nice to be able to walk around the streets. Even at 1am in the morning you could go for a walk and feel completely safe. Upon arrival they provided us with maps of the area and marked our the major spots we might wish to visit. They explained how to use everything in the apartment and were in constant contact with us during our stay. We'd definitely recommend and encourage anyone who is looking to stay in Tokyo to really consider Anton and Yoshi's apartment. Not only was the apartment beautiful but they themselves were excellent hosts. We had a great time.

Yoshi is a wonderful host and took his time to really make us feel welcome. The apartment was perfect for us and our 2 boys - the main bedroom is very spacious and comfortable. We really loved the area - close and convenient to get to where we wanted - totally safe to wander around. You must visit the alleyway - Harijuku Street - highly recommend the Yakatori restaurant and don't miss The Live Blue Note Karaoke bar- lots of fun. Totally recommended and thank to you our wonderful host Yoshi.

YOU MUST STAY HERE IF YOU COME TO TOKYO!!! Hands down, one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed in. Perfectly located between the beauty and energy of Shibuya and Shinjuku. Easy walk to Harajuku and the trains, well really everything you could possibly want! Amazing view of Tokyo from the apartment and the roof with a beautiful shrine across the street to boot. We caught a beautiful sunset and sunrise on our trip there and it was MAGICAL. The apartment has everything you need re: amenities; chargers, beautiful bathroom, iron and board, and the genie toilet! We loved it! Anton made us feel very welcome and we were so grateful for the hospitality after our long flight. We would stay here again and again and hope to come back to Tokyo soon. Thank you!!

Was a very nice, tastefully decorated home. Easy to get to and convenient for the Haneda airport (train just 5 min walk, 1 or 2 commutes). I had a pleasant stay and would definitly book again another time and advise family and friends to stay. Exactly what i look for from an air bnb, a more personal touch and welcome feeling.

This was the perfect stay for us. Wonderful and very caring host. Room is perfect exactly as the pictures, so is shower, toilet and washing machine. Takes maybe an hour from house to tokyo station including changes and walk to statipn. This is good for tokyo :D Yokohama is just around the corner, and shinkansen stops at shinagawa which is rather close. Overall 5\5.

(Surroundings) It about 5 minutes walk from the Higashimonzen station. The area around Tina's place is similar to area like Jiyugaoka but less shops around, but there are a few restaurants and convenient stores near by. I would recommend, if you can find a bike, to take a bike ride around the neighborhood. (The Place) Wow! This is the first word that came out of me when I walked into my room. It is designed like a boutique hotel, but… way more amenities and spaces that you would get from a hotel in Tokyo. There is a basket full of japanese snacks and even a "share" syochu (japanese wine). You don't need to bring anything with you to stay comfortably at Tina's place. (Host) Tina is totally cool and nice. She tries her best to help you and introduce you to the Japanese culture. (Summary) Must book!!! Can't imagine of finding a better place than Tina's….

Tina was a great host, a great help, and a great guide! Even before we met her, she had already furnished us with details on how to get to her place, the procedures, the rules - everything! If at any point we were in doubt, she immediately replied to our queries. Then when we met her, she showed us around the house with great hospitality and kindness, and we were blown away by a number of things. 1) Her house is small, but cozy and so beautifully furnished! 2) Daily necessities such as towels, shampoos, etc, were all provided for already (of course, you can't take it back with you). 3) She prepared a basket of adorable Japanese snacks and confectionery for us! And it was these small gestures that made us feel immediately welcomed and at home. She spared no trouble making us feel that way, and we indubitably felt it from the very first moment. Location-wise, it is super near to Haneda Airport - only 30-45min away! But unfortunately, our flight is from Narita Airport, which is a whopping 2hr trip to and from her place. But honestly, that is the only downside to this place. Other than that, we couldn't have asked for a more wonderful accommodation. But a word of advice to travelers considering staying with her: bring along a gift, or snacks, or food - something from your home country when you visit her. Because we didn't, and we felt so terrible about it! After all the effort she has put in to make us feel warm and at home, we had nothing to offer in return. Yikes! All in all, Tina has really been a SuperHost to us, and we look forward very much to visiting her again the next time we visit Japan! P.S. the next time we visit, we will definitely bring some good stuff over!

This apartment is near Haneda airport which is convenient for travellers who arrive in Tokyo late at night.

Landlord own house, newly renovated. The landlord couple very warm and talkative. Space is suitable, you can open two boxes, toilet and bathroom are clean. The landlady was very good, middle of the night waiting for our arrival. Not too far from the airport, a taxi in the evening 2500 yen. Hyun Ja was great! Communication was easy and she was very gracious to me and picked me up from the airport. Unfortunately I had goofed up and couldn't contact her after I had landed until I got my pocket wifi (which took an additional 30 minutes). Hyun Ja was concerned and waited at arrivals for the whole time. Thank you, Hyun Ja; it was very considerate of you to do that. The Airbnb itself is small, clean, and quaint, good for a traveler looking for just sleeping at the Airbnb.

I had a great stay here! Hideaki provided all of the necessary information before arriving, making it very easy to get there and check in. Also, many of the necesseties in the apartment had English labels, which was great for my mother (who knows no Japanese). The apartment location is great to get to and from the airport. There was also more than enough space for the two of us. I recommend staying here, especially if you're flying into or out of Haneda :)

Thanks Hideaki provided room. Hideaki for the room is full of information, a taxi would probably come to about 1 minute to 1600 yen. Otorii the road to see the approximate distance from the residence about 200 meters, very convenient. The room was clean, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner everything. Bed big enough to sleep on three individuals there is no problem, if four people might be a bit crowded. Note that, in the three-room, luggage and more or inconvenient to take, and there may be some trouble.

I was surprised to have gotten the service ready for overwhelming, such as amenities and simple meals. The room is not in the new building, but it was very clean. DVD for children, have been prepared toys, such as the girl if the dress also, etc. on the way back I went to Disneyland in Lone I think that it is perfect.

We had a really nice atay at Arulla's place. It was a small and very compact apartment. It has almost everything inside, very well prepared and complete. She prepared really nice treats like candies, bread, fruits, cup noodles and a bottle of wine, very welcoming treats. So many of them! She responded very fast to my questions regarding almost anything. I would say a maximum of 6-7 person only for the room. Less would be better, more would be to cramped. Quiet surrounding, but barely can see anyone else. I love the hot water! It is available anytime! Very easy to adjust to the exact heat we want and in an instant. I would suggest her to put up more photos of the apartment than the ones we can see on airbnb. I find that the instructions to go to the apartment is a bit too detailed thus makes it more confusing. It is very simple actually. Maybe skipping the details about what to see and just go to almost the end of the road would be much simpler. As the place is small, I would hope that some unnecessary items be taken out to make more space. She provided 2 wedding gowns and a few princess' gowns which weren't useful for us. It is a great treat for small girls, but as we didn't have any with us, the gowns just occupied too much space. Arulla is really nice, she even accomodated our plenty of luggages earlier on the day we checked in, we are lucky as the room wasn't rented out the night before.

Take the bus to Disneyland only a few stations, junctions have a 24-hour supermarket and McDonald's. The landlord quickly respond to messages and can assist deal with the problem, beds very comfortable, and warm table. We live very happy ......

Taking a taxi from Tokyo Disney to here is a short distance. Best benefit is how close it is to the resort!
