The location is great! Everything nearby! The room feels like home, with everything you need! The two stayed just fine and would be very satisfied. It will be a little crowded if you go over, and your luggage will not be easy to open.

After a long flight and train ride, this was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our first evening in Tokyo! It was clean, bright, very welcoming, and easy to find. I wish we could've stayed longer than one day, but we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Japan!

The place was in a good location, just a short train ride from Shinjuku. Smaller than the photos show but a wonderful place to stay!

Although the house is a bit old, it is clean. The landlord responded very promptly. Check in experience was good. Usually the price is very reasonable, the Spring Festival price is a bit expensive.

This was a great experience, we have never stayed in a shared space like this before. Keiko and Kako are so friendly and helpful, it was really wonderful having locals to talk to and to be in a house. The neighborhood was great and we had easy access to the subway to get all over Tokyo.

Fabulous location close to Yoyogi. The house is beautiful. But the most enjoyable part of the stay is the hospitality of Kako and Keiko. I have been traveling to japan for 30 years but really enjoyed discovering the family. Very good English speakers and helpful. Really a great place to stay!

Kako & Keiko’s home is lovely, and so are they as hosts. Their place is much bigger than the usual Tokyo home, offering beautiful light with a perfect guest room for our privacy when we needed it. Everything was convenient to walk to, from the 7-Eleven’s for last-minute necessities, charming bars and restaurants, to main train lines which helped us cover a lot of the city in a short amount of time. Keiko also cooked us a delicious breakfast every morning to fuel us for our adventures each day. Best yet, they’re upgrading their home, making it even better for future guests. I can’t wait to come back.

This is a very pleasant experience by staying in Kaori san’s apartment, which is comfortably clean, multifunctional, and spacious equipped with lots of appliances necessary for a modern and convenient life. The apartment is located in a quiet and decent neighborhood surrounded with restaurants, cafe, and convenience stores. The opera city is 5 minutes walk housing some excellent performances. And most importantly, the super host, kaori san is welcoming, hospitable, and patient. She responded to any of my requests since booking is completed. She also sent me lots of information needed for traveling in Tokyo. She also has a cleaning staff to help clean the kitchen every day. I am sure to return once the chances available. Great place, Great host!

It is a very beautiful room. The route is explained carefully and it is very easy to understand.

Masami's place is located in peacefully area near Shinjuku, perfect to take a rest for all day long stroll. Only few minutes from nearby subway to Shinjuku. It takes about 400 m from Hatagaya station to apartment but there are many restaurants and stores on along the way so you can enjoy shopping and hang out around. Masami's room was very comfy, cozy, sparking clean with aromatic scent! The first impression was greeting card attached on the door, that was so cute. She provided the appliances guidebooks so it was easy to use those Japanese labeled devices.

It's a super nice place! Tucked away in a neighborhood so it's quiet, but still close enough to main streets and subways that you can get around to where you need to easily. It was nice and clean and great for our short trip. :D

Small, cozy space enough for solo traveller or 2 people (might be a bit tight if you have a lot of luggage). Location is superb, very near to Shinjuku, and there is a bus to Shibuya nearby the house. Masami is a very nice and responsive host. The place is very clean. Overall a very good experience.

This was an excellent apartment in Tokyo. It is in a very well-connected location, a couple of stops from Shinjuku and all the main places one would want to visit in the city (the train station is very close and you can get to most places pretty fast), and plenty of local food, shopping and coffee shops if you want to relax around Hatagaya some days during your trip. The flat itself is really clean, has a working desk, good wifi, a comfy bed, and Masami is a super responsive and helpful host if you need anything. I was very happy with the apartment as a single traveller and would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay in the city!

Masa’s place was wonderful. Very clean and full of useful items for travellers (bag scales, suica cards etc). Great location, about 5-10 min walk to Shinjuku station. Masa is a fast and friendly communicator. He checked up on us to make sure everything was good with our stay. He also gave great recommendations for things to do in Tokyo. The room had fish which was a very sweet touch. Would recommend Masa’s room.

It was a really nice stay in Masa’s house. He is a very nice person. We got the key from him in person and he gave us some useful tips. In his room, he offered the transportation card and WiFi, which is very necessary in Japan. All in all, Masa’s house is a good place to stay for traveling!

The host was very nice and responsive, and gave us chocolate on Christmas Eve. The house is very comfortable. The only drawback is that you have to wash in the kitchen.

Masa is an exceptional host and is so accommodating to new visitors to Japan. He has thought of everything from phone chargers to instructions on how to use the shower correctly. He checked up on us to make sure we were doing okay too. The space itself is typical of a Tokyo apartment - which is small for someone who is over 2 metres tall!! Thankfully the shower and toilet are separate and there are plenty of places nearby to eat and convenience stores to grab forgotten items. Overall this place is perfect for first time visitors to Tokyo (as we were) due to its location, hospitality and proximity. We can't thank you enough Masa!

This place is clean and perfectly located near Shinjuku Station, many great restaurants and convenience stores. The room had enough space for two adults and 3 huge bags. Masa thought about every single detail (pocket wifi, suica card, hairdryer, umbrella, guides for sightseeing, charger, selfie stick, etc) that made our stay pretty much easy and he still was available all the time if we needed anything with quick answers. I was able to spend a very homely time. The room is clean and the access from Hatagaya station is not bad. I recommend this place for travelers who would like to stay close to Shinjuku (just 2 stations away) .There are all the tips and manuals given in English by the hosts and they should be really helpful!

We loved staying in this apartment, it was very clean and super close to Hatagaya Station which made travelling around Tokyo very easy. Loved the note on the doors and the lovely snacks left for us. Masami was always super prompt in responding to messages and keeping us in the loop with everything. Highly recommend this apartment when you come to Tokyo.

Great place to stay if you want to live central while being on a budget! The facilities are really clean and there is not only big shower rooms, but I also especially liked the availability of washing rooms, where you can get ready just like in a hotel room. The beds were comfortable and more than enough space to store luggage.

Wise owl has nice bunks and good amenities. It's a 20 minute walk to Shibuya station, so it's in a really convenient area to travel around tokyo

Calm location

For the best quality for an affordable price definitely stay at Wise Owl Hostels in Shibuya. The staff was beyond amazing! I can’t say that enough. Everyone was very personable and made sure that every patron was comfortable and had a good time during their stay.

Clean, well located, kind staff and a really nice service over all. If I ever go back to Tokyo, I'd probably stay there again.

I really like this place, it's a very quiet place in my favorite district of Tokyo! The beds are very very comfortable! And they really do it in the details!

First time in Japan and this was a wonderful spot to stay at. A stones throw away from the train station so had no problem getting up and exploring at a moments notice. Even staying in the neighborhood was a good way to spend the day as there are many shops and places to eat at. Good for thrift shopping! Bunks are big enough and offer a reasonable about of electrical outlets to charge all my devices which is plus for me. Staff was very helpful and made me feel comfortable. Three showers which I never had to wait for so that’s another plus for me. Can’t think of anything else to say but overall I would stay here again for the location and the hostel itself.

This is the best Dom for me. Is very clean and tidy. Toilet , bathroom, sleeping Dom are perfect clean and tidy. The location is nice . Easy to find .

Immediately at the station, I arrived immediately with a sense of direction. Bedding slept well with fluffy. But maybe because I stayed on Saturday, singing karaoke enthusiastically ... As earplugs were attached for free by service, it was good.

Even though there were so many people in and out, the cleanliness was amazing. The receptionist was also kind and had a very good stay.

I stayed in a capsule room and it was very cozy. I've never been in one before so I'm not sure what to expect. Shimokitazawa is a cute neighborhood and the hostel was very close to the train station.

Super clean, amazing location. So close to the train station. Very chilled hostel, the private room was spacious and the balcony gets the morning sun so perfect to have your coffee out there! Walls are pretty thin but I had no trouble sleeping at all!

Great location and comfortable room. Everyone was very nice and I had no problems with cleanliness. They were always willing to help and give any tips. If you are sensitive to noise, maybe look at their other rooms but they do provide earplugs.

Stayed here before because of the location - Shimokita area - and its close proximity to the train station. When I was much younger person, I used to do the hostels, but nowadays love the private rooms they have here. Staff is friendly and courteous and helpful, and one of them helped me print my boarding pass for no charge. Clean place, clean bathrooms and shower! Love it, love it, love. Will probably come back next year.

Naoko’s space is very cool- it has an amazing minimalist vibe. The directions and communication were excellent. The location was a bit farther from the train station than I would like, but Shibuya station is a (longish) walkable distance. Shinsen station is on the Inakashira line which takes you to Kichijōji. I would highly recommend it for shopping and food. It’s a much more laid back alternative to the frenzy of Shibuya with a lot of cute stores.

Naoko’s place is uniquely designed with rustic industrial charm. The bathroom is small but efficient, and everything in the apartment is very clean. Air conditioner worked perfectly. The location is as described (adjacent to a highway) but the windows are double-paned and the sound (at least to this New Yorker) is not overwhelming at all (for example no horn honking or excessive truck noises). Location is a short uphill walk and zigzag from beautiful Yoyogi-Koen. All in all a fine stay. Thanks Naoko!

Lucky find! Sakura house is clean, sweet, and cozy, and the decoration is very cool and Japanese-style. The room was way nicer than I expected, and the shared bathrooms were all very nice and clean. The location is not far from the metro and it’s on a super sweet and peaceful little side road. We will definitely book this place again in the future if we get the chance!

Ken’s place is highly recommended. One of the best places I have stayed. Great and strategic location. Clean, neat and tidy. Ken is also a very thoughtful and communicative person.

Because our visa came late, the landlord always cared about whether we could travel smoothly and it was very considerate. The room was fairly clean. It was about 6 or 7 minutes walk from the subway station, which was quite convenient. There is a small balcony in the room, and you can wash and dry clothes, which is not possible in the hotel. The host was very considerate when we checked out late because of the late appointment.

Nice way to escape the hectic pace pf Tokyo and just very close to Shimbuku -- would rent again -- gladly.

It will be a mistake NOT staying here. Great host, great property, great location. Just a few minutes walk from the train station, convenience stores, and delicious local restaurants. Spacious property that really feels like home. If you need anything, don’t be afraid to just ask the host. He will quickly answer you.

Haji’s place was to be expected. Clean, safe and close to Shibuya station. There was 4 in our group and we all fit comfortably enough when we were all in the apartment. The pocket WiFi works great, and the close proximity to 7/11, Lawson’s and FamilyMart made getting last minute things easy. Haji as a host was great and responded promptly. We had issues checking in as the tablet in the room wasn’t working correctly, but Haji was quick to respond and resolve the problem. Only downside of the stay is the size of the bathroom, but if you’re use to Japan and the size of typical apartments it’s understandable, but for guests coming from the States it’ll be an adjustment.

Haji’s apartment is very convenient to all (all transits, convenient stores, shopping centers in Shibuya, Izakayas, restaurants, tourists areas). We are a family of 6 that stayed there and it was comfortable to all. Haji responded quickly to all my questions. Such a great host. Will definitely stay at his place again.

The first thing you’ll probably say is “it’s small”. However, at this location you’re not going to find anything much bigger. And i love how everything about the place is minimalistic. Not to mention the place has all the amenities you need, even a washing machine and pocket wifi to bring around with you if you need free internet! The location is also amazing, so even if you think it’s small, you most likely will be out and about 90% of the time. Located in a small peaceful area so you can rest quietly, but also in the center of everything to do in Shibuya! A lot of shopping, bars, and sooo many restaurants within walking distance! Very lively. And the biggest plus is Shibuya station is an 8 min walk! Lastly the host is great and responsive and has instructions for english speakers. Would recommend for anyone’s first time in Japan!

Kens place was situated very close to 109 building. Very convenient place with both Lawson and seven eleven only 2 minute walk away. The room is a little bit small as it’s enough to open one big suitcase at a time. But other than that, the room was really nice and clean! The washing machine was very convenient for us as well as the hangers to hang our clothes. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others ^_^

The entrance is a bit difficult to understand, so I think it's better to enter while bright. The inside was very clean and very good.

It was far from the nearest station, but on the way back there was a bus stop nearby so I was not worried. It was even more clean and very comfortable! I want to use it again!

Huge hotel/service apartment in Tokyo, 2 stations off the main Shinjuku station but the size of the apartment made the distance negligible. Apartment is exactly like the pictures shown. Has a balcony too. Comes with daily Housekeeping. There’s a washer and dryer in the laundry room downstairs.

The location is great! !! Next to it is the Otoki (forgotten the specific name) gate of Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and the check-in area of the leafy court. There is a subway Marunouchi line that is almost direct and there are various convenience stores next to it. Close to Shinjuku, convenient for transfers! ~ The room is really big! There are no problems spreading out a few boxes!

The location of the house is great, it is convenient to live in Shinjuku, and it is convenient to eat, eat and shop nearby. The house is fully equipped, clean and tidy. There are still people to clean up the garbage every day. I will definitely choose to live here next time I come to Tokyo.

The room is large, clean, quiet, good location, easy to find, near the metro station, very convenient, near shopping area, not far away. The host responded very quickly, giving very good details. Next time I have to come to rest firmly. Jacky

Calm Gatagaya is a travelers apartment building - almost like a hostel but with individual apartments. The space we were in was comfortable with more than enough space for 5 people. We were able to do laundry, cook, use the fridge, shower, and more without issue! The house is about 5 min walk from the nearest subway station, which is then only two stops to Shinjuku. There's a little market street around the corner and plenty of accessible food and convenience stores. Was happy with the stay and would stay again!

Place was very clean, Comfy, Superhost, but location little bit complicated.

We had a good time staying at Masami’s place. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. Check-in was smooth and communication is responsive. Located near all the convenient stores/mini mart, food was very easy to find. All the house guides/ instructions is very clear and nice little touch for the welcome card and snacks ^_^ Something to keep in mind though: Note#1 The alley where the apartment is located is a bit far from the entrance. Note#2 The nearest subway is near Keio line which we bought the 72 hrs tokyo metro + toei card and it didn’t cover the Keio line. Apart from that, all good. We had a good time. Thank you Masami.

Location wise, its very much near the train station in shibuya. Right smacked in the center of everything but in a quiet area. Ken is very fast in answering my questions as well. Comfortable place.

This was a wonderfully convenient place in fantastic Shibuya. Just a few minutes walk from the station and great food and shopping. The host was helpful and responsive and the location is handy for trains to both Haneda and Narita airports and for lines around Tokyo. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

My family of 4 stayed here for 7 nights and found the apartment and its location to be great. Location – in a quiet area but only 2 mins from the main street of Dogenzaka and under 10 mins to all the shopping streets and Department stores. Restaurants and convenience stores are everywhere. We arrived on train and walked to the apartment. A little uphill and we saw some adult shops but no issue. The limousine bus station was close by. We caught the bus to Haneda Airport and it was more convenient than train/metro and less expensive than taxi. Apartment – The apartment is compact as is common in Japan and with luggage, the space was limited. However it was functional as a holiday place. The main bed was essentially in the lounge and there was a sofa and a coffee table (although there was another fold up dining table). There are two futon mattress in the big bedroom with a closet and the room was separated by a wooden sliding door. Both room had sliding doors and balconies. The self-check in was simple but you first had to get the key from a Family Mart. The apartment was clean, in the heart of everything and communication with Ken was great.

Mary’s place was great! It is a small studio apartment, but it was perfect for my wife and I to spend six nights in and had everything we needed for our trip. The kitchen area was very useful and we saved money on our trip by cooking breakfast most mornings after shopping at the local super market down the street. It is nestled right in Shimo-Kitazawa and the neighborhood is amazing. We kept traveling to other parts of Tokyo on our trip and then returning home for the night and feeling like we should’ve just stayed in the neighborhood. It was very easy to get to the subway stations and was a really great place for us to stay during our visit in Tokyo, highly recommended!!!

Great place! It’s only a 10 minute walk from the JR station and close to many malls, restaurants and even an arcade. The place was clean and very big compared to other place I’ve stayed at in Tokyo.

This apartment is in a terrific location an easy distance from Shibuya Station on a quiet back street. It is very convenient to all major retail stores and restaurants. If you need an exceptional sushi dining experience go to Ox - Hideki is an extraordinary sushi artisan. He rides his motorcycle to the fish markets every morning and prepares an exception 12 course sushi menu for his small (11 person) restaurant. Highly recommended. Service from Emily was very good. We would go back there in a heartbeat.

Bus 32/33 stops almost in front of the entrance. Close to supermarket with amazing sashimi and cooked food. A bit tight for us 5 full size adults but no complaints given the close proximity to the Shinjuku Station. Well worth what we paid for.

The place is cozy and nice. Near Shinjuku station, we can enjoy the night of Tokyo. The place quite clean, and located a secure place. I recommend someone who finds reasonable fee near the center of Tokyo. We spent a great 4 nights.

Anybody coming here, It’s a great spot! The apartment is wonderful and the amenities are modern and very nice. The bed is fairly comfortable, and the check-in process, while thorough, is fairly simple. The location is alright! It’s not really immediately near a major station, and there isn’t too much variety with restaurants in the area. However, there are some nice convenience stores nearby! Overall, the apartment is fantastic and the location is decent. It’s just a train ride away from Shinjuku station, so you can use the JR Pass to get anywhere from there. Check this place out when you’re in Tokyo! Ibrahim

The apartment is very clean and cosy. Close to the Metro station and many convenience stores and eateries. Koichi was very prompt in responding. I would stay here again and recommend staying here.

The Home was wonderful, very neat and modern. A very easy walk to a station and a short trip to most locations in Tokyo.

Koichi’s place is incredible neat. I stayed for 4 night with my wife and 1.5 years old baby. The location is close to Oedo line station and easily could be reached by walking. Also there are several stores and restaurants nearby. Sure, we are looking forward to come back again.

Everything we needed for a family of 2 adults & 2 kids. Great location to Shibuya, only a few minute walk and close to a minimart & Starbucks. Very happy with it and would stay again. The video the host provided on how to find it from the train station was very helpful.

The location of the house is perfect, it is in a quiet neighborhood but just a few minutes walk to the station and the center of shibuya. Also all the basic needs are provided. I definitely recommend this. I would also like to stay here again when I go back to Japan.

Lisa's apartment offers a very well-positioned base for exploring Tokyo, at a remarkably low price. Although the area includes a mix of love hotels and adult-orientated entertainment, you can relax: this is Japan, so it is safe and not in any way sketchy. It is busy with tourists, couples and locals. There are eateries close by and a konbini about 20 yards from the apartment block. The building itself has a caretaker and there is a mix of tourists and locals in residence. The room is at the rear of the block, so you don't hear any music from the street. The lift is fast and works well, with a flight of stairs next to it. Toilets are always a bit of a squeeze in Tokyo apartments, but the bath is a deep, Japanese one, with unlimited hot water and a shower hose. You have a hob, fridge, sink and the necessary bits and bobs if you want to cook something. There is an air conditioning unit with remote control, to keep you warmer or cooler, depending on the season. You can't beat the location. You are a short walk from Exit A0 of Shibuya station (a flight of stairs outside the giant Uniqlo store). This allows you to get to and from Shibuya station using the underground walkways, avoiding the crowded streets. Shibuya is a hub station on the Yamanote line and on several metro lines. It is also a stop for the N'Ex, which makes access from Narita very easy. Locally, you have Shibuya on your doorstep: Center Gai, the Scramble Crossing, Hachiko Square and the vast new multistorey malls built around the station. There is an enormous Donki and a huge Tokyu Hands a few minutes walk away. There are endless eateries in the area and a couple of post offices nearby. If you have a problem or a question, Lisa is quick to respond.

The flat is perfectly situated not 400m from Shibuya station and Scramble crossing. Perfect for the metro and Japan Rail system with direct connections to Narita Airport. A short walk away from Shibuya takes you from the bustling centre to a quieter expat district of boutiques and fabulous restaurants, and of course Sushi to die for. I can't recommend Lisa's place highly enough as a base to explore, not just Tokyo, but Japan.

Address close to all amenities, 5 min walk from everything, Shibuya is really a great neighborhood! Lisa's apartment is great, and fun too. Fair price a bit high I think. But otherwise I recommend 100%!
