I can't imagine staying anywhere else in San Jose. Luis made our arrival so easy. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed; he picked us up from the airport even though it was late, took us to the grocery store, arranged a rental, car, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the rest of our trip in Costa Rica, not just the one night we booked with him. The apartment had everything we needed and more. His beautiful wife made a delicious típico breakfast with fresh fruit and coffee which was the perfect start to our day. The care and love they put into hosting their guests is genuine, heart warming, and really is the best there is. I'm so glad we booked with him.

Diego was an amazing host!! When we arrived he was working at the airport and gave us all the tips on how to get to his house. Even helped us call an uber, providing a hotspot from his personal phone. We ate his homemade breakfast and it was incredible. Diego is a superhost, he has lots of contacts in tourism in the whole country and will give the best information on how to get around, where to go and how. He even got us a great deal on a car rental. Highly recommended!

Great value. Really good communication. Really close to open-late grocery store. Hard to find building and neighbors were a bit loud. Couple minutes from airport with uber available all the time.

Diego was an amazing host. He picked me up from the airport even though my flight came in after midnight. When my phone wouldn't work, he spent an entire morning driving me around until we found a solution and he helped communicate in Spanish when I didn't have the vocab to do it myself. He went above and beyond, and the apartment was perfect. Very clean and comfortable. If you are traveling alone and anxious at all, this is a great place to stay where you can feel safe and comfortable. I highly recommend it, especially if you're a woman traveling alone. Very safe.

The house is comfortable even away. The owner anyway is provided to give information or take himself downtown or the airport. Lacks living room but everything else is correct.

Ketho's house was awesome. The whole house is pretty much hard wood floors and it had a really nice feel. Our bedroom was large and the bathroom was great, big and clean. The bed was really comfortable, especially after a 15 hour travel day. Getting to the house was pretty easy, I think it was about 15 minutes from the airport. The area was nice and quiet as well. I think the accommodations were great, we will definitely be staying with Ketho again!

VERY comfortable bed. We were only here for one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The room was beautiful and the bed was the most comfortable one we've had in Costa Rica! The entire house is extremely clean and beautifully kept. On the way out we saw just how central it is with parks, restaurants, the stadium, etc. all very nearby in a great part of town. Definitely recommend as a great place to stay.

Ketho's place was great, comfortable and exactly what my family needed after a long day on our last night right before we headed to the airport. The house is spacious, in a safe neighborhood and comfortable. The bedroom we stayed in accommodated 2 adults, 2 kids and an infant comfortably. I had issues with my GPS and couldn't find the location and Ketho was extremely helpful in helping us figure out our way to the house. Our plans changed and Ketho was flexible and willing to changed the date of our stay last minute. Ketho was responsive to every message I send in a timely and efficient manner, If you're looking for a place to stay on your way from or to the airport, Ketho's place is definitely a great choice!

Ketho is a nice an friendly guy. His place is tidy and comes with a lot of benefits like a ping-pong table and a Playstation.

Ketho was a very gracious host. As we were arriving my maps app was malfunctioning, leading to places in the neighborhood away from Ketho's home. Ketho came out in his car to find us! The room was clean and our bed was the most comfortable we had slept in in more than a week. There's so much room in the house and backyard and the place is very nice and modern. The neighborhood is pleasant and close to a beautiful large park. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid place to crash while exploring San Jose or just staying a night or two while traveling.

The house is very nice, Erick is very friendly and friendly. It helped a lot to be able to have fun during our stay and rested great. I would definitely repeat!

Erick was super helpful. We were much later than we expected and he was very accommodating. He recommended a great little restaurant/bar we could grab food at. We were only in for about 12 hours but we had a great sleep and really appreciated all Erick's patience and assistance.

Erick was a great host. He showed us around San José by car and we went to a sports bar to watch his favourite football team. He was always available and helpful. The place is pretty basic but ok for a night or two. The sourroundings seem pretty safe and there are bakeries and restaurants within walking distance.

Erick is a very helpful and sweet host. The location cannot be beat, walking distance to all attractions and downtown. Apartment has everything you need. I strongly recommend this if anyone wants to stay in San Jose for couple days.

Erick was a very nice guy. He helped us find the house and was fun to talk with. Good location, you can walk to the city center. Nice talking with other guests. It was ok for one night, but the kitchen and bathroom were not very clean.

Great host, great place. He picked me up from the airport for a fee smaller than a taxi. I didn't have a way to use my phone and he let me use a SIM card for a couple bucks for the duration of my stay. I will for sure go back.

Regina and her husband were great and give good advice. They were helpful in letting us drop off our luggage early so that we didn't have to carry it all around. Had great travel brochures.

Regina and her spouse were wonderful. Not only did they allow us to drop our luggage off early so we could safely roam the city, but they provided great information about the area when we arrived. The apartment was clean and worked perfectly for what we needed. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I only stayed at Regina's place for one night - we got in late and left very early in the morning - but it was a great stay. Regina and her husband were more than accommodating with our late arrival and even helped to communicate her location with our cab driver. She and her husband spent time giving us lots of info about navigating the city and public transit to ensure our vacation got off to a perfect start. Would definitely stay again if we are ever back in San Jose!

This is very specious place. It is 25 minutes walk from center of San Jose. Everything that is written for this apartment is accurate and thru. Hosts are very nice people and they will give you all info that you need. We had only one night at Regina place and we can conclude that it was worth of the money we paid.

Best place I ever stayed with AirBnB!! Liza is a fabulous hostess. Liza is a well traveled person with an amazing personality. She was very attentive to my needs, and extraordinarily hospitable. She is well connected with locals for any other services you might need (like spanish lessons, etc) Place is close to everything you need. all within 10 minute walking distance. Excellent place overall! This has become a second home for me!

Lisa is the most friendly host you will ever meet. She is always smiling, and can guide you in fully experiencing the area. Her place is great at exceptional rates - she has breakfast for you 3 days of the week made of delicious and perfectly ripened fruits, boiled egg and the best coffee you'll ever have. Lots of locals know of her place such as local taxi drivers and she can also give you information about many other places to visit. You can also have a therapeutic massage since the host is also a licensed massage therapist.

I have stayed at Liza's place for almost three weeks, and I felt at home from the second I arrived. The houses are beautiful, with lots of common areas and a very nice kitchen available for guests to use. I stayed in both the Garden room and the Mountain View room, and both were great. The neighborhood is very safe, it is walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants, and it is easy to take the bus downtown. The best part about my stay was getting to know Micky, Liza, the cats and the others guests. There are always people around if you want to socialize, and quiet spaces if you don't feel like it. Micky and Liza were always ready to help me with directions, ideas about places to visit, tips on the best places to eat and have coffee (go to Hacienda Real) and I also loved their company and the conversations we had. I will definitely stay here again if I come back! Thank you for everything :)

Liza was truly an amazing host. She was warm and hospitable. Super helpful with my entire stay (arranged for airport pickup, connected me with excellent tour guides, offered suggestions for travel destinations, etc.). Liza creates a really positive atmosphere in the house, which offers a great combination of privacy and a dining area where you can meet with other guests to chat. The rooms and the entire house are very clean. Fresh sheets, towels, etc are provided. Healthy breakfast in the morning. Whether you're traveling alone, as a couple, or as a small group near San Jose (Escazu neighborhood), it's worth considering this place as your stay.

Liza's house is a perfect place to stay in San Jose, located in the gringos neighborhood par excellence, the place is very secure and very warm. It's much better than a hotel and the price is very reasonable. For both short stay or months the house is very pleasant to live! Liza will welcome you and guide you throughout your stay! This house is also an opportunity for them to make interesting encounters. I highly recommend Liza's house! you will not be disappointed..

Ray and Jorge were both great hosts! The views of the mountain are amazing and nothing beats the fresh air in the morning, it was like being in a different world. There is wifi which definitely came in handy for checking in with our kids and relatives. There's a guard onsite which made us feel safe and secure.

I can't say enough good things about Raymond and his property! He was so helpful and quick to respond. He made it easy for us to find the property! Our room was clean, beautiful and had the most wonderful view. Again, can't say enough! Thank you :)

Units are glass walled, individual. Ours was down many steep stairs, in a hole. Somewhat dated fixtures and furnishings but adequate. Comes with kitchenette. Curtains don't keep out all light, since they don't quite fit. Neighborhood appears to be mostly upscale. Security gate men are efficient. Family of lounging dogs always ready to greet you. Don't miss the chance to go up the mountains, nearby, and visit 'Tiquiseria' bar/ restaurant for a truly breathtaking view of San Jose. Found it by accident and it was the highlight of the trip! While in Escazu, dine at Ile de France, for a world class restaurant experience.

Ray was very welcoming and the Villa was even more beautiful than any pictures can do justice. I was in and out all day and night and the guards at the gate were super helpful. Ray had dogs around the property who were all very sweet! It made me feel even more at home. Make sure to bring provisions because there aren't any markets in walking distance and have CASH because there aren't any legitimate cabs that will accept cards.

Really unique, beautiful, secure and affordable place close to everything -- once you get up the mountain. I'm really glad we found this place for our night in Escazu.

Though difficult to find at night, Raymond's property is stunning. The villa we stayed in was pretty basic on the inside, but served us well given that we stayed for one night before departing to SJO airport in the morning. Beautiful scenery surrounding the property, and lovely views to the city.

I arranged a stay for my partner and Wolfgang could not have been more accomodating. She had to check in very late into the evening, and he left a key for her. I was so happy she was able to stay somewhere nice and safe. She was even provided breakfast! She had nothing but nice things to stay and will be back in a couple of weeks for another stay.

Wolfgang and I never actually met because he was traveling but he made arrangements with his son to leave me directions and a key so I could get into the house. Unfortunately we did have some phone and email communication problems but in the end it all worked out well. The house is nice and is very convenient to the airport.

This place is ok to stay at. It's convenient when you just arrived at Costa Rica, close to the airport. The hygiene of the place isn't too well though.. if you're on a budget and are not too fussy about hygiene, then I recommend this place to you. Wolfgang & Oliver sure are friendly hosts.

This Airbnb was very helpful for our needs because it was so close to the airport (7 min total). We were also close to various restaurants and bars that cater very well to tourists. Wolfgang was very accommodating.

Don Wolfgang very friendly, the place is very well located, safe and easily accessible. It is perfect to spend a few nights, although personally I left because I had only one airport the next day. It is in my opinion a very good thing, the helped me coordinate my airport transfer and have an excellent transfer. Cute cats!

Wolfgang's house is conveniently close to the airport and in a secure private complex. Our room was basic but clean, with shared bathroom. Wolfgang answered all questions and made like a good coffee for breakfast. We were satisfied and had a good start to our Costa Rica trip.

We landed late in San Jose for our trip to Costa Rica and were lucky enough to have booked a room at Lobo. It was the perfect start! The apartment is only a short taxi ride away from the airport, the house is very large and has a lot of common space. Our room was very clean. Morning Lobo has even made coffee for us. We were completely satisfied with the accommodations. To San Jose from the center there is a bus a few feet away for $ 1. But the absolute highlight was Lobo as host! He even organized tours and knows the best places in Costa Rica. He gave us lots of tips and organizes a lot for us, and protect us from some tourist traps. We are currently in Costa Rica and go with any questions we can always turn to Lobo. That's just great - many thanks for that! We can recommend Lobo and accommodation highly.

Very good location, near a Fresh Market to buy food, the apartment very comfortable, clean and modern. Gym facilities and pool are a plus !. It is definitely an excellent place for a long or short stay. Great value for the price.

Very good apartment, equipped with all necessary kitchen utensils and very good quality, clean towels and sheets in the rooms, and even details such as soaps and shampoo in each bathroom, as a hotel. The apartment is very comfortable, has a large balcony with a very nice view, placidly sleeps there away from the noise of the city, and at the same time it is very well located in the city.

We really liked Jose's place. It was AMAZING!! So much better than I even thought and worth way more than we paid to be sure. It's the penthouse with a wrap around deck so we could see a great deal of San Jose all the way to the mountains. There was a playground which my son loved and the building was super nice as well. He left keys for us with security and a note with all the details was there as soon as we walked in. There is a Fresh Market within walking distance and Ubers were quick to arrive. The apartment itself had all the amenities and anything you could ask for to have a great AirBNB stay. We liked it so much we will be booking it upon our return to San Jose next week if it is still available. Definitely an A+ establishment!! :)

The penthouse is well located near everything in San Jose. It was spotless and everything you need is there. Jose was very responsive and check-in was easy. I highly recommend Jose's penthouse.

Awesome location with a beautiful view of the city. It has an exercise room with a treadmill and stationary bike to get your cardio on, a rooftop pool with a grill and lounge area, two parks and a shopping center within walking distance; there isn't much if anything to hate on about this place.

Great view, great location it's a must stay. However, we were given just one towel between the two of us for three days and the kitchen is not properly equipped. Let me be clear when I say I would return because the view, pool and location can't be beat.

We were greeted by the property manager, Diego, who graciously waited for us to return from the beach at an odd time. The neighborhood and security are fantastic. The apartment was beautiful and cozy with an amazing view of the city. I am so thankful we choose this apartment to finish our stay.

The house is situated very close to the city center of Escazu but at the same you get a really peaceful feeling there. It is as if you're in a village within the city surrounded by nature. The house and the room are clean and basic. It was exactly what I was looking for, also considering the price. Patricia is a wonderful and brave woman. She has a lovely and smart daughter. The other housemates were very nice as well. Thank you ;-)

Escazu is at 15-20 by bus from the center but there is anything you want! What can I say ...... Patricia, Fer and the neighbor maggi turned like very good friend. First day Patricia rescued me, I had no cell phone and I speak very little Spanish but was able to have someone at a local restaurant call her for me. Patricia speaks fluent English and we had many great conversations. The room is very basic and served all of my needs well, and it was a great value for my needs. The property has a secret garden with a big creek and a small waterfall and a Pavilion for yoga meditation Etc. it was tranquil and peaceful. Thanks Patricia!

This stay was my second with Bernardo and Rebeca and it was as good as my first stay. The room was excellent and all amenities were as described. Bernardo and Rebeca are wonderful hosts and have two fun, energetic Labradors. The location of this B & B is perfect: it is near bus, stops, taxis, stores and restaurants but isolated from street noise. Highly recommended!

This apartment was very lovely and well equipped. It's very quiet and comfortable. It has a cool roof top with pools and hot tubs. The kitchen had coffee, tea, fruit, bread and eggs for us. It has a great view and we watched the sunset and the sunrise! Check in and check out was easy and owners had great and quick response. Highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

The condo was located in a great location, close to everything. The rooftop pool had great views of San Jose and was beautiful. Great gym and very secure with 24 hour security. A great experience, would recommend staying here.

Jlc's apartment is a nice basic comfortable apartment in a gated high-rise building. The location is in a quiet residential area not far from the airport. Our only suggestion would be to have darker curtains in the bedrooms as it gets light very early in the morning. That may or may not be an issue for you.

I spent a night in transit Oliver Quiet before leaving Costa Rica; his house is well located, bus from the airport you are 200m from the station and you are not far by taxi either. There is a supermarket and restaurants just next door so perfect!

The house is big with many space, well located (very close from restaurants and mini supermarket) which is a good point. Mariah is very nice and warm The room is OK for but we felt a bit disappointed because it looks like different from the picture (room, beds). However, beds are comfortable, there is hot shower. Good pace to stay for a short stay only.
