Places to stay in St Agnes
Our attractive, modern, ground floor coastal apartment, with its own decking, for one or two guests, enjoys magnificent sea views, is a stone's throw from Perranporth's wide, golden, sandy surfing beach and is very close to village amenities. It contains everything you will need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Wi-Fi throughout. Central heating. No cleaning fees. Parking to rear. The coastal footpath is just outside our front gate. You will never tire of the view; it will keep you spellbound.
If there is a one night vacancy showing on the calendar, between other bookings, please message to enquire about availability. The whole apartment is centrally heated, double glazed and has Wi-Fi throughout. I don't charge a cleaning fee and we also don't charge extra for electricity or for the central heating. Located here in glorious Perranporth, Cornwall, enjoying the most incredible far reaching views, with a landscape which is constantly changing, yet we are only a stone's throw away from the beach and everything which the village has to offer - eateries, shops, bars, pubs etc. You can walk everywhere. We have provided rattan chairs, a table, and full length loungers on the apartment's decking, where you can dine alfresco, all the while drinking in the amazing view laid out before you. Early risers can experience a Perranporth sunrise from a decking viewpoint. We even provide throws and a hot water bottle to keep you warm and toasty should you wish to sit outside when the weather turns chillier. There are windbreaks, seating and mats for the beach located in the main hall. From the decking, step through the French doors into the main living area. Here we have a large flat screen smart television with NETFLIX for our guests, DVD player with dvds, dining table and two chairs, a very comfortable leather two seater recliner sofa, coffee tables and a fully equipped kitchen area. There are ample cupboards and worktop surfaces with fridge (including a small freezer compartment), microwave, electric oven, ceramic hob, toaster and kettle. The apartment is equipped with stainless steel saucepans, Pyrex dishes, white tableware, a selection of various glasses (wine/champagne/tumblers), cutlery, place-mats, tea towels and many other sundries. We have provisioned it with fresh milk, tea, instant coffee, cafetière with ground coffee, drinking chocolate, biscuits and condiments. Dish washing, cleaning items, bin liners, J-cloths etc are kept beneath the sink. Additionally, there is an iron, ironing board, and portable clothes dryer. We have also put out binoculars, board games and playing cards and a selection of relevant books about Cornwall and paperbacks to keep you entertained. There are lots of leaflets in the apartment detailing Cornish attractions, including discount vouchers too, along with a set of tide tables so you can keep an eye on what the sea is doing. I am more than happy to drop off a daily newspaper for you as I always nip down to the village to get my own first thing in the morning. The apartment's main front door is located within this area. Walking through to the bedroom there is a wardrobe with plenty of hangers, lots of drawer space, bedside cabinets with matching lamps and a king size bed made up with a king size duvet and attractive bed linen. In addition there is a wall mounted Smart TV with DVD player (there are some DVDs in the apartment should you wish to watch them) on which the internet can also be accessed and NETFLIX for our guests. Additionally, there is a hairdryer and bedside clock radio. The fully tiled en-suite shower room, with heated towel rail, has an excellent power shower and towels (one bath and one hand towel per person) provided, along with various toiletries eg shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. We have our own private car park to the rear of the main property. Check out is at 11am but we are more than happy for guests to leave their car for a few extra hours after this time so that they can eke out their break just a little longer before their return journey. Just ask. From our apartment you can look across to the exact spot on the cliffs opposite where Winston Graham wrote the novels Ross Poldark and Demelza in the 1940's. Of course, most of the filming for the television series Poldark takes place around Cornwall, and hereabouts. The beach is famed for its wide expanse of golden sand, which is cleaned regularly throughout most of the year. It's a tremendous walk to the other end of the beach (just watch out for the incoming tide!) or to meander along the sandy dunes. It's great for surfing, with a surf school practically on the doorstep (closed during the winter months, although there are others in the village open all year round). Lifeguards patrol the beach for your safety during the busier months. Storm watching can be wild and exciting in the winter months, especially if the tides are exceptionally high, when the beach takes on a very different character. Watch all the excitement from inside without getting cold and wet outside! Access to the coastal footpath is practically on our doorstep and it's a glorious walk to St Agnes, which is about four miles away across the cliffs. Or to Holywell Bay in the other direction. The Watering Hole, located on the beach itself, is a very popular bar/restaurant to view some of our amazing sunsets over the ocean. Perranporth Golf Club, enjoying breathtaking views up and down the coast, is one of Cornwall's finest links courses and is only a 1.4 mile drive away. Perranporth Tennis Club has six grass courts and three newly resurfaced floodlit hard courts. It is open to visitors and is only a 0.5 mile walk away from us. The nearest riding stables are just under two miles from us by road. The local doctors' surgery and Boots the Chemist are extremely close, should you require their services during your stay. The bustling cathedral city of Truro is only nine miles away (try The Heron Inn overlooking the Truro River at Malpas, which is just a couple of miles drive/walk from the City centre); the famous Eden Project 26 miles and St Ives 24 miles distant (hint: drive to Lelant Saltings or St Erth then take the train right into St Ives, a very memorable scenic railway journey, albeit quite short, as driving around St Ives can be quite challenging). If you're a Doc Martin fan then why not go to Port Isaac which doubles as Portwenn in the series. We love having lunch at The Budock Vean Hotel (TR11 5LG) at Mawnan Smith, 21 miles away, followed by a walk through the beautiful grounds down to The Helford River (think Daphne du Maurier's Frenchman's Creek). Their Cornish cream afternoon teas are such a treat too: large, homemade scones, with lashings of Cornish cream and Boddington's strawberry jam, along with a selection of delicious homemade cakes. Travelling widely over the years has given us an insight into what travellers like and expect. We have, therefore, used this knowledge when setting up the apartment for our guests. However I am always very open to any suggestions to make your stay with us special and memorable. If you think we've forgotten something, therefore, please don't hesitate to let us know. We don't charge a cleaning fee either. So come and share our view with us. We guarantee you won't be disappointed. Please also see our other Airbnb listing for four people: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/19563456. This apartment is located on the opposite side of Bay Court's main hallway
We have travelled fairly extensively over the years and we both think that the beach here at Perranporth has got to be one of the very best beaches in the world. Come and experience it for yourself.
  • We so enjoyed our short break in Beth’s clean, comfortable apartment. Every need catered for plus the most stunning view from the spacious terrace. Close to beach and shops. Could not have asked for a better location. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Beth!

  • The views from the deck are spectacular. Even in wintery blustery weather it was a stunning place to be. Everything we needed had been thought of. It was great.

Secluded, self contained, 1 bedroom apartment in our home by the sea. Bedroom, bathroom (shower), living area with kitchen. Living room with TV (Netflix, iPlayer ...) sofa, dinning table & chairs, kitchen (hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge & freezer.). Bathroom with shower, sink & loo. Bedroom with king size bed, wardrobes. WiFi, USB ports, Bluetooth speaker. The flat has private parking by it's own entrance (key code access). Not suitable for babies or children and we are keeping it pet free.
It's a cliff top house, overlooking the sea and beach, on the edge of the village we love, Perranporth. To get the great sea views in the photos you do need to step outside the flat and go up the stairs to the top deck, that you can use anytime. From the flat you do have a limited narrow view of the sea down the side of the house (see current photo 13), but it's worth going up the outside stairs ! From the property, walk down to the beach and Perranporth village with plenty of shops, surf schools, restaurants, pubs and cafes. OR turn left onto the coastal path. St Agnes is a bit under a 90 minute cliff top walk. Dinner and a taxi back is a great evening. The house, including the flat was completed in late 2017. We tried to take on a lot of current "eco" build ideas in that the house is well insulated (triple glazed windows, sheeps wool in the walls), and has most of the internal air continually refreshed, not from vents and gaps, but a ventilation system that gives more filtered and dehumidified fresh air into the building than a traditional property. There is some more obvious tech in that the light switches give multiple scenes, the bathroom lights are PIR sensor triggered and the blinds are on remote controls.
Droskyn headland is at the south end of Perranporth beach, at the edge of the village.
  • Rory is a lovely host! The cabin is attached to his house, a very modern ecological beauty, that has his own entrance and is connected to the main balcony showing you one of the best view in Cornwall! He made us feel at home, leaving us fresh local butter in the fridge and delivering local milk every two days in lovely little glass milk bottles. You could really taste the Cornish milk. In the house there were already coffee, tea and shortbread to start our lovely stay. The house is fully equipped with modern and new facilities and he has everything settled if you need to go around Cornwall, maps, books and himself advising you on nice spots where to go! The house has everything a couple should need for a lovely staying in Cornwall! I highly recommend Rory! Thank you!!

    Rebecca2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic Airbnb space. Really well thought through layout which is very practical and clean. The space is bigger than it looks in the photos. Rory is a great host. He was easy to communicate with before we arrived and had provided some nice personal touches to the space. There are sea views from the lounge down the side of the main house and we wrapped up warm to enjoy local Rattler Cyder on the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea, beach and town. We visited Perranporth when it was stormy with sunny spells and still found plenty to do locally! A really lovely place to visit.

    Mary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little flat in perfect surroundings. The perfect get away. Rory was super helpful with tips and made us feel at home. We will 100% be back again. Thanks again!

    Samantha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, only a few minutes walk to the beach. Beautiful space with everything you need for a get away. The shower is ten out of ten! Rory and Sarah both very welcoming and accommodating. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

    Dominic2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A very well equipped, elegantly designed comfortable modern flat. Immaculately presented with many additional features such, streaming TV (Netflix, iPlayer etc) Bluetooth speaker, an exceptional shower, high tech insulation & ventilation that keeps one cosy in winter. (we stayed in Feb 2020 during storm Dennis!) and pleasant in summer. Beautiful view from the shared balcony a short walk outside from the flat entrance door down the side of the house & up some stairs. We were sad to leave.

    David2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I can not fault Rory’s place, it’s beautiful, clean, open, and comfortable! Great value for price, and Rory was so lovely and helpful to us! Location was great too, with amazing views.

    Megan2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The place was really cool and clean, and the area was much better than we expected with plenty to do. The pub tips were brilliant and we enjoyed the food. When the storm hit we had an amazing night in with plenty of entertainment. We’ll definitely be back!

    Mike2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little apartment which had everything we required! Rory was very helpful and he gave us some nice tips about where to go for food and some nice walks! Check in was super easy, and we really enjoyed our stay! We will be coming back!!!

This stunning, three double-bedroom Finnish Lodge, nestles into the side of Carn Marth Hill, a World Heritage Site. From the huge triple glazed Cathedral windows there are far reaching views across the rural landscape of mid-Cornwall. Enjoy relaxing by the pool during the day and soaking in the hot tub by night!
The living room is flooded with light from the double height windows as is the mezzanine double bedroom. The wood burning stove creates a cosy atmosphere in the evenings or for winter visits. You will enjoy the hot tub looking out over the rural landscape. The property is well equipped for 6 people to enjoy a very comfortable stay.
We live on the side of Carn Marth Hill and you can walk directly from the house to the top of the hill where you will find a lovely little quarry lake where locals fish and occasionally swim. From here you can see both North and South coasts the walk on to explore more of the many footpaths and bridleways.
  • Lovely open space, super clean and very nice touches. Scones were top draw and the hot tub followed by the wood fire was dreamy. Thanks to Caroline and Roz

    George2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Lodge is beaufitul, clean and has great views. The huge window fills the space with natural light and keeps it surprisingly warm! Caroline is very welcoming, we'd have felt very comfortable asking for help at any point if we'd needed it.

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to get away for a while. Caroline was lovely in assisting us from booking to checking out. I would certainly recommend this place and hopefully one day return for another stay.

    Muhammad2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s place felt really special, we arrived a little early due to the rain and Caroline accommodated this with no notice. The alpacas made the place really unique, lovely that they are in the field next door to the property. And the hot tub was a big hit with everyone. And let’s not forget scones fresh from the oven with jam and lashings of clotted cream. Really convenient to get to lots of places as well. We stayed with our friends who have two little girls and an infant and there was plenty of room, two bathrooms definitely helps! I should also mention the property was cosier than I thought it would be even without the fire on. Great for a wet February half term!

    Gillian2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline’s house was lovely and we felt very welcome. From the cream tea with homemade scones on arrival to the luxurious hot tub to the cute and funny alpacas in the back garden, we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

    Elspeth2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely lodge. Super hot tub. Lovely cream tea and the most comfy beds. A super place to stay.

    Deborah2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful lodge set in a picturesque location. Caroline is a wonderful host, answering questions extremely promptly pre-arrival , then offering her assistance on arrival with her knowledge of the local area. The lodge is extremely well appointed & the hot tub is toasty toasty! Highly recommended!

    Emma2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely located, tucked out of the way about so nice and peaceful but close enough to East South and West coasts. Didn't explore too much as weather was being very British but what we did see were some nice walks and welcoming pubs. Cosy to stay in thanks to the log burner too. A really nice way to escape for a days.

  • We had a great mini family break at anika and gwith’s flat. The location is amazing and it was so lovely to be so close to the sea. The flat is small but perfectly formed, and has everything you need! A brilliant place to stay to explore Cornwall.

    Maddy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Although the house is a little smaller than it appears on the pictures, its abolute plus is the location directly at the wonderful Porthtowan beach. There is lots to do in the immediate surroundings: playing in sand, enjoying the waves, cliff walks, a café, super delicious ice-cream, a pub with great food, an organic store with local handicraft, a playground, ... , let alone all the games and interesting books provided at the flat! A perfect place to get away and relax!

    Anna-Maria2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great flat in great location. Even arriving during Storm Ciara didnt dampen our enthusiasm. Sound of the surf in morning was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Hope to stay again. Great hosts with very good communication throughout.

    Tilly2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was great, really comfortable and cosy, especially with the wind howling outside! So nice to be able to walk the coast path straight from the door and watch the waves from the window. We loved the personal touches, the milk in the fridge and Sue's note welcoming us. I would definitely recommend staying at Anika and Gwith's flat.

The actual cottage is in a brilliant location and being a minutes walk away from the local pub is great. Couldn’t fault our stay x

    Lois2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's cottage provided the perfect bolt hole for myself and my wife with everything considered, characterful and of the best quality. The bed and be linen were second to none and the quality of the kitchen equipment simply made me jealous. Michelle obviously cares about her guests as much as she obviously adores the cottage, with thoughtful touches and splashes of luxury and oodles of style. The stairs to the bedroom are very steep and you do need to use the rope hand rail but we soon got used to it and the extra care needed. The bathroom agin is uber stylish and the highest quality and the outdoor area, even though the weather didn't really lend itself to making full use of it, was charming. Mithian itself is lovely small hamlet with a decent country pub less than a minutes walk and St Agnes, just 2 miles away, is full of Cornish charm with easy access to the South West Coastal Path - just exceptional walking. Overall? And exceptional place to stay and well worthy of the accolades its reviews bestow.

    Paul2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful few days in Cornwall staying in this beautiful cottage. I couldn't recommend it more - wonderful relaxing break!

    Daniel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time in a beautiful home and every detail was just so thought out. Really nice touches in terms of decorations and also a great use of such a small space too made our stay really comfortable. We had an awful weekend in terms of weather but the cottage was very cosy and we managed to spark up the fire and chilled out with Netflix on the smart tv which was a nice touch! Bed was super comfy and the robe and slippers again another nice touch! The host made us feel at home and was on hand at all times, making sure we had everything we needed. Garden was so pretty and quaint, would love to go back in summer when we could enjoy it! Will certainly be taking some of the ideas for design features back into my own home, and may even buy some knitting needles after being inspired by the ones in the cottage! Thank you, we had a lovely stay!

    Louise2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the Cottage. Warm and cosy and so easy to spend time in. Michelle goes the extra mile with the little details. Special section for our pooch with treats and welcome furry toy was a special touch. This is one Airbnb host who goes the extra mile. The village is very picturesque and the local (Miners arms) is what you would imagine a pub should be.

    Tim2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay in this little cottage :) the stairs are very steep just as a warning. Loved all the thoughtful touches!

    Sarah2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time in this fantastic thatched cottage. The location is great, the property is beautiful and Michelle was all that we could have asked for as a host. If we get the chance, we will definitely be coming back!

Trecowthick barn is set in beautiful Cornish countryside, next to a working farm with a cottage bakery, where you can buy fresh Cornish Pasties, bread, cakes pastries fresh from the oven - mmm you won't find a better Cornish Pasty! The location is great for getting around Cornwall, just a few minutes from the A30 which gives you quick access to the rest of Cornwall, and also just 10mins form Newquay with all of its nightlife attractions, surfing beaches and adventure activities. Morrisons supermarket is just a 10 minute drive away. There are many beautiful countryside and coastal walks nearby.
  • An extremely spacious property with lovely views of the countryside. Even for March, you can see how amazing this property would be for the summer with so much outside space. Jane was very helpful and friendly. It was relatively easy to get into Newquay town centre and conveniently located near Morrison’s. We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in the property and at Newquay

  • Helpful host, lovely home. Wouldn’t suggest without a car.

  • Fab location, beautiful surroundings and our host was great.

  • I was looking for a venue large enough to accommodate my family for Christmas and the Barn was perfect. It was very cosy, warm and inviting. The property is huge with plenty of space for the children to play and the adults to relax. The kitchen was really well equipped for cooking our Christmas dinner and seating sufficient for us all to be able to sit around the table and enjoy the food and company. The property is enclosed with large gates to the front which was perfect for us to let our three dogs out. There is a large back garden but we didn’t use it as with all the wet weather we’ve had we didn’t want the dogs to bring mud into the house. The property is very clean, beds were comfortable and to top it off there is a jacuzzi bath which was amazing! A thoroughly enjoyable stay, Jane is on hand for any queries but gives you total privacy and exclusive use of the Barn and parking areas for the duration of your stay.

  • Lovely place for family get together

    Allie2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, spacious house with a friendly host that gives you complete privacy. More than enough room for our group of 8, great lounge area for everyone to relax in and a big kitchen to get together in for meals. Jane sent us excellent directions and information beforehand and there's a folder with all the house info in when you arrive. Thank you for an excellent stay.

    Rob2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Jane's place. It is ideally suited for large groups and has more than enough space. The distance too Newquay is also not too large though having cars is very advisable. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would definitelyrecommend the house to anyone who wants to visit Cornwall.

Spend a relaxing break in this comfortable studio retreat on the north coast of Cornwall. High ceilings and sky lights make the cosy space feel bright and cheerful, with lots of natural light pouring in. Enjoy tea on the charming picnic table out front and enjoy the quiet location with only the sound of ducks and wildlife to disturb you!
This newly renovated building was previously used as a design studio by the owners and provides light and airy self contained accommodation with separate kitchen/dining area, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The studio is situated in the grounds of the owners property and offers an extremely quiet location with only the sound of ducks and wildlife to disturb you!
The cottage is just a short drive from the famous surfing beach of Perranporth, popular for its natural tidal pool and Watering Hole bar situated right on the sand. The traditional 17th century Bolingey Inn, is only a 3 minute walk away and serves wonderful food, drink and local ales. The vibrant Cathedral City of Truro with its many bars and restaurants, cinema, theatre and rail station is only 9 miles away and the airport at Newquay is also close by.
  • So peaceful and quiet. Just what I needed! Charming place that had everything I hoped for. Will not hesitate to book again.

  • Immaculate and stylish property, in a great location, ideal for exploring Cornwall.

    Kelly2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at this lovely studio, great location (walking distance to Perranporth beach) and a wonderful host! Definitely recommend!

  • What a wonderful find! A fabulous, bright, clean, comfy and cosy studio in a great location for exploring Cornwall. Lovely hosts and lots of thoughtful touches. I’d love to come back. Highly recommended.

  • I think this may well be the best example of Air B&B we’ve experienced. We loved the studio from the moment we arrived. It may be small but it’s perfectly formed, the space is used very cleverly and it felt perfectly spacious for us - a couple and our baby. It was spotlessly clean and Melinda had clearly put lots of thought into making sure the space is well appointed with everything you might need, with quality furniture and fittings and some lovely extra touches too. The location is beautiful, quiet and within easy reach of many of Cornwall’s beautiful towns and beaches, it’s an ideal spot to explore from. Melinda was very welcoming from the first time we talked and she and her husband were very friendly in person. I hope we are able to return one day and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

    Clare2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean , bright and fittings are all to a high standard. We were delighted to have found it. Thank you Melinda!

    Linda2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic and beautiful place to say. The studio was beautiful and the hosts were amazing. The studio is so nicely laid out, full of light, and clean. It also had just about anything you could ever want of need while staying somewhere other than your own home. The location is perfect as well and wonderfully quiet, with a lovely pub just a short walk away. Our hosts went above and beyond for our little one, and made sure his stay (as well as ours) was comfortable and fun.

    Shea2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is a very stylish, homey place to stay. The host was great and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the attention to details (beers in the fridge, heated mattress pad, etc.). The kitchen is great, but we had problems with warming up a pizza as the smoke detector is right above and it started beeping every time we'd open the oven. Give my boyfriend quite a scare. So maybe eat out instead, there are some restaurants nearby! Highly recommend the place!

  • Great stay in a stylish room in St Agnes. Our hosts were able to accommodate us at very short notice and were quick to respond. The room (a former garage but fitted out brilliantly) was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for our night's sleep. Just a short walk from the local pubs and completes a good loop of them around the town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to other travellers in the area. Thanks.

  • We loved our stay in St.Agnes. The accommodation was great - exactly what we needed. The local area is gorgeous and we can’t wait to go back! Perfect stay. Thanks, Lizzie.

  • A lovely, cute little place to stay, and only a short walk away from St Agnes shops and the beach. Super clean and wonderfully decorated. Would definitely stay here again.

  • We had a lovely stay in Lizzie's conversion. It was simple clean and homely. The decor was perfect for the coastal location. As for location... it was ideal. Just a short walk into town, to the beach and to the coastal walks. We stayed out of season and during storm Ciara but we still found plenty to do nearby and the locals were very welcoming.

  • This was a trip for the parents, they came back stating the place was lovely and in a great location!

The beautiful Apple Store is a 15 minute walk to the beach and breathtaking coastal walks. St Agnes is a very cool neighbourhood with great restaurants, pubs, cafes, a park, art galleries and plenty of shops, all a short walk away. The Apple Store has a super comfy bed, wifi, Nespresso coffee machine, wood burner and a basket of goodies to welcome you. We are best suited to couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and well behaved furry friends (of the dog variety).
The Apple Store has a super comfy bed with pure French linen bedding. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine, mini fridge, wifi, TV and a wood burner to keep you cosy during colder months. We provide Cowshed toiletries, super soft towels, and a basket of goodies to welcome you. You have your own entrance gate to the property and are free to come and go as you please. There is an outside table and chairs and a fire pit to keep you warm under the stars or to use as a barbecue. We provide some logs to get you started but can supply more for a small additional cost. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Please discuss this with us when booking. We really want to make your stay as relaxing and lovely as possible so please let us know if there's anything we can do to ensure this happens.
St Agnes is one of our favourite spots in Cornwall (although we are probably biased). It always feels buzzy, even in the depths of winter. There are some great places to eat and drink and you'll find everyone is super friendly. Particular favourites are the Sorting Office for fabulous coffee, Schooners for breathtaking views and fantastic food (both brunch and dinner), the Taphouse for good food and fab atmosphere, the Aggie for a great cooked breakfast and the Driftwood Spars for a good night at the pub. Trevaunance Cove is a great beach to have as our local. We are only 15 minutes' walk away and you can surf, kayak, swim and walk your dogs all year round. There are so many other amazing beaches nearby including Chapel Porth and Porthtowan (with the fabulous Blue Bar being the most wonderful spot to have a cocktail (or pint) and watch the sunset). Perranporth (about 5 miles away) is another great dogwalking beach, particularly out of season when you can sometimes have the entire 2.5 miles almost to yourself! We are also only 8 miles from Truro which offers some great shopping, a beautiful cathedral and some good dining options.
  • Lovely stay at Lucy's. Flat is in a lovely location, easily accessible to St. Agnes and the beach. We hope to come back!

  • Loved the Applestore! It is a 5 minute walk from pubs and another 10 to the beach. The place itself is really nicely done and very stylish! Lucy was a great host and we will definitely be returning at some point in the future x

    Lydia2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Lucy's was like being in an en-suite hotel room but with a garden outside instead of a corridor! Lovely room, very comfy bed, fabulous bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and lovely welcome gifts of milk, biscuits, fruit, granola and cans of Cornish lager! The beach is 20mins walk there and 30mins back (uphill all the way!) The pub does basic but tasty food and is 10mins walk away.

  • Lovely little apartment, tastefully decorated with laundering and dishwasher facilities if you need them. Having the dishwasher was great so we didn’t spend ages washing and drying up (like you can end up doing at other self catering holiday lets). Hot tub was great - needs turning on mid morning to ensure it’s nice and warm for an evening relax. We didn’t use the gym, but were made aware of where and how to access if we had chosen to. Rachel was available to help with any queries which we had and she left us to peacefully enjoy the apartment at our own leisure, but made sure we knew we could ask for anything if we needed. Rachel gave us directions for a short cut into the village which was great. We had a wonder round and we also walked down Rocky Lane to the beach. There’s a nice little local pub down there called Driftwood Spars where we had a drink. The walk down to the beach is very steep so would advise appropriate footwear. The scenery is beautiful and it was well with a visit. It’s also only a 20 minute drive into Truro.

    Louise2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Hygge House must be one of the best AirBnBs my partner and I have stayed in. Rachel was very accommodating and responded fast. The place was in a lovely quiet area and very convenient location for exploring Cornwall. It was spotless, in immaculate condition and decorated tastefully. The sea view was beautiful from the drive. The hot tub was a great bonus too. The price reflects what you get and more. We hope to stay again :)

    Serena2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a really small dainty place, but absolutely perfect for just two people! There is everything you need here and I couldn’t fault it.

  • A wonderful little cottage filled with charm and character. So many lovely finishing touches. Belinda the host is really helpful and makes your stay special. A perfect place to get away in Cornwall. Simply lovely.

    Naomi2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Belinda’s cottage was lovely and cosy, and beautifully decorated throughout, with an eye for detail, quality and taste. They’ve managed to keep it neutral yet welcoming, homely and practical. It had literally everything we needed. A perfect spot of perfect proportions for the two of us short people! There were scones, clotted cream and jam for our arrival, which kept our energy up on the spectacular coastal walks from Trevaunance Cove to Chapel Porth, and Perranporth the other way. Some great pubs and restaurants just a short walk down the road. We recommend the Driftwood Spars for a pint, and Taphouse for a great selection of quality food, and good vibes. Thanks Belinda!

    Sam2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, comfortable, delightful little cottage. Everything you could need and more, very sweet touches like dog bowls and bed, cream tea ingredients and fresh eggs. Games, beach towels and other practical items too. Great, responsive and kind host. Would definitely recommend. Great for us little people but if over 6foot two, may be a challenge lol. All in all a lovely stay and we are returning in the summer. 100% would recommend

    Debra2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Belinda and Steve are great hosts and the cottage is beautiful. You have everything you need to feel at home and the Christmas touches made our stay very special. The cottage is very clean and cosy, perfect for relaxing and a great place to start your Cornish adventures from. We look forward to our stay next year!!

A luxury 2 bed lodge located in the beautiful village of St Agnes, which sits in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site. It nestles at the top of a wooded valley that winds its way down to Trevaunance Cove. In one of the most enviable locations in St Agnes, it's just a few minutes walk from top rated bars, restaurants and pubs but still enjoys a peaceful and quiet setting adjacent to the world renowned coastal path and a 10 minute walk to the beach.
Located within the grounds of Trevalsa, Chy Mena is built to the highest standards with luxuries including fully integrated kitchen including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and corian worktop. 48' 3D LED Smart TV, Wireless Sound System, Lift Up Coffee Table for extra table space, Remote Digital Bath/Shower, LED Lighting, Free Wifi, 22' LED Smart TV's in the bedrooms and Digital thermostatically controlled heating throughout. The property also benefits from PV solar panels and all windows and doors are fitted with tinted glass for extra privacy. The large folding doors open out to a generous decking area with alfresco dining and ample space to relax in the sun. There is an additional lower decked area which houses a high specification jacuzzi for sole use of the Chy Mena guests to relax and unwind.
Chy Mena is in a great location, just minutes from pubs, bars and restaurants. For breakfast we recommend The Greenroom, which is located in Peterville just a couple of minutes walk away or Genki, just a few minutes walk down the hill. The Taphouse, Bear Bar are also located in Peterville which are great for lunch, and there's also a chinese restaurant and takeaway. If you head down the hill towards the beach, which is a 10 minute walk, we recommend the Driftwood Stars as nice traditional pub or Schooners overlooking the beach. Finally, there are more great pubs and restaurants in the village which is a 10 minute walk up the hill. Places to check out include Taste, St Agnes Hotel and Shellfish Beach.
  • Simon was the perfect host and our stay was so great. Weather wasnt the best but at least we had the hot tub to keep us warm 😂 Can't fault anything😁

    Ethan2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time staying here, had everything you need and Simon is always at the end of the phone for any questions or queries :)

    Leah2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Chy Mena, where do we begin? Perfect was the first thing that came to mind on our arrival. It was spotlessly clean, modern, stylish yet cosy. The hot tub was really just the cherry on top! Even storm Dennis the Mennis couldn't have ruined our stay. Simon was a star! He responded so quickly, provided so much information and quite honestly, we couldn't find any further questions to ask. Everything you'd need to know is provided to you ahead of time. The nearby restaurant serves beautiful food and the general area is of pure beauty. Be prepared to drive up some steep hills though! :D All in all, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you again!

    Peter2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Small house well located between shops and the beach, the jacuzzi is a real highlight !! Very nice place to stay.

    Julie2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This property is well designed and has all your basic needs, plus a bit more! It is open plan with all modern conveniences, and was cosy and warm, even though we stayed in December. It is situated on a wooded hillside in a quiet, secluded spot but it has all the convenience of local shops and fabulous pubs that are just a few minutes walk away. The rocky cove of St Agnes is gorgeous with access to the South West Coast path running across the cliffs. We fully recommend Simon's place.

  • My first air b and b experience so didn't really know what to expect. The bar has now been set very high! Thank you for my stay. The room 'sandy bottoms' was lovely, the little notes, wine, snacks and chocolate, really thoughtful. The book with local amenities was also very helpful. Thank you

  • Welcoming hosts. A great location. A fairly extravagant breakfast. An easy at-home vibe. Comfort and privacy. Good conversation. An old dog. What a lovely stay at Tertia's place. Highly recommended.

  • A lovely stay in a wonderful and cozy house. Tertia and her husband are very nice. Porhtowan is mainly a beatiful beach, with some shops and 2 pubs. Beatiful walk on the cliffs. Better come with a car.. The room is small but very pretty,. I love the welcome pack with wine, chocolate.. You ll find the happiness and the slow life here..

    Izaskun2019-08-09T00:00:00Z

  • Simply stunning. A great property in a great location, everything you need is on the doorstep. The locals were more than helpful to offer us any tips on where to go or what to do. The bakery opposite was perfect for pain au chocolate for breakfast and to grab a pasty or sausage roll for a day out. The hotel next door was very pleasant which served decent food. This place is am absolute gem.

    Rob2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely flat - beautifully decorated and very comfy. It contained everything you might need such as a washing machine, extra blankets etc. Location is fantastic in the centre of the village - lots of great places to eat within a few yards but very quiet in the flat despite central location and pub next door. Ben was quick to respond to any queries and key collection was straightforward. We did misunderstand the parking description and thought there was parking. We managed to park a few streets away but would be concerned about parking in the summer but apart from that would definitely stay again.

    Karen2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay right in the centre of St Agnes! The cottage was really cosy and clean and in such a perfect location. Would definitely recommend for a great break away.

  • We had a lovely stay at your cottage, thank you. Very clean and comfy. We assumed there was a private parking space but may have misunderstood however we didn’t struggle to park during our visit.

  • Lovely stay in the centre of gorgeous St Agnes village, which has lots of lovely little shops and great restaurants to choose from (particularly Taste, St Agnes Bakery opposite, fish and chips from Fission and a great beef roast dinner at Driftwood Spars). Great location for SW coast path walks both to Perranporth and Chapel Porth. The Airbnb itself is spacious, nicely decorated and cosy with comfy beds and sofas you can sink into at the end of a long day’s walking! Ben was a great host, very responsive to messages we sent and also very generously allowed us a late check out on our last day. We will be back!

Primrose Cottage is equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable stay in the heart of Cornwall. The cottage is located on our small farm. We have a friendly springer spaniel, a few sheep and some chickens. Mingoose is a small hamlet just outside (a few minutes by car) the pretty village of St Agnes, which has many shops, pubs and restaurants for you to enjoy. We have lots of lovely coastal walks and right from our doorstep. Saturday check in only.
Primrose cottage has its own parking and a large deck area for dining or relaxing.
Mingoose is a lovely peaceful area, but with the great surfing beach of Porthtowan just 5 minutes drive away and the bustling village of St Agnes with its fabulous beaches just a five minute drive or 30 minute walk away there is always plenty to do out and about before coming back to Primrose Cottage to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Secluded location, one mile from Porthtowan Beach. Next to a wooded valley with walks to the cliffs, beach, pubs and cafes. Recently built annexe to our old cottage, on the site of an 1850’s copper crusher mining engine. A labour of love with modern decor and an ethnic style. Self-contained with a wood-burner, garden and woods with a fire pit. A true getaway all year round! Perfect for families and small groups. Dogs welcome. Three miles from the A30 so a great base for exploring Cornwall.
Copper Crusher has been built with a lot of love and thought. We’ve tried to cover all needs. The living space is very light, with an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with a double story high ceiling with large open mezzanine with glass balustrade. There is a large wood-burner with stunning copper chimney flue! Ideal after a walk or surf in the storms of winter. The main bedroom is a large room with super king or twin bed options and has an ensuite bathroom with a large walk-in shower and toilet, and large double doors on to a Juliette balcony. Bedroom two is a standard double, again with double doors on to a Juliette balcony. Separate 2nd bathroom with large walk-in shower. The floor sofa on the mezzanine is made of two mattresses which can be made into a double bed or two singles. The mezzanine overlooks the downstairs living space and makes an ideal chill space. Bed linen, bath towels, tea towels, toilet paper and hand soap is provided. Please bring your own towels for the beach. For those with very young children we have a small child’s bath that fits in the showers (our 4 and 6 year old nephews and nieces love the showers). We also have a fireguard. There's a washing machine in our end which can be used if we're in. The annexe has its own garden and a small woodland with a fire pit so you can toast those marshmallows! In the last year we have seen green woodpeckers, a Little Owl, foxes, plenty of buzzards and a couple of peregrine falcons. A BBQ is available and we include charcoal, kindling and firewood within the price. Access is separate to the main house entrance and is through a door into a shared store room (ideal for surfboards, wetsuits, wellies and other gear), then into Copper Crusher. Off road private parking for two or three cars.
  • Copper Crusher is a magical place to stay. The location is easy to find but tranquil and spacious inside and outside. The owners have thought of everything and there are some lovely extras like some delicious treats on arrival. The building design suits its surroundings and is light and airy as well as comfortable and cosy. The owners are knowledgeable about the local area in terms of places to go, local food and sights. The walks along the stream and to the beach are lovely. We would love to go back again and would highly recommend this home from home retreat.

Located on a private lane with private parking and access through a tiered garden, The Pound is a two bedroom (connected rooms) L-shaped flat. The front door leads into the lounge with bedrooms to the right. From the left a step takes you into the kitchen with the bathroom on the left.
‘The Pound’ is a quirky two bedroom (connecting rooms) log cabin flat. It also has a lounge, kitchen and bathroom and is accessed via a zig zag path leading up from a designated parking area. When we bought the house 6 years ago, The Pound was a dog grooming parlour, hence the name, which was in a very bad state. We renovated it for two of our sons to live in and a few years on, and both sons having moved out, it is now surplus to our requirements, so have decided to rent it out for you to stay in to enjoy the Cornish experience. We have tried to think of everything you would need during your stay to make it a home from home holiday. At the front of the property there is a storage box which houses recycling bags and where your bagged rubbish can be stored for collection on a Thursday evening. As we are close to the A30, which can be seen from the front of the property, there is traffic noise outside but not within the accommodation. There is a table and 4 chairs on the patio at the front of the property but as the property is surrounded by large trees there is only direct sunlight in the morning. To the left side of The Pound there is a small gate which gives access to our garden which you are more than welcome to use on sunnier days and meet our friendly Labrador, Jago. Located between Illogan, Portreath and Redruth there is easy access by road to each. Jenn's Diner is a family-run American style diner a one minute walk away. The Track is a five acre cycle facility based near Portreath and is less than 1 mile away. The Track is suitable for ALL types of mountain bikes, E-Bikes, BMX bikes and balance bikes and all ages and abilities. Kernow Hydro pool is also situated on this site. The Cornish mining town of Redruth town is a 10 minute walk away and there is easy access to all surrounding towns and villages via the public bus and train system. Redruth is home to a variety of exceptional pasty shops, individual shops, cafes, cinema/theatre and boasts the home of the famous William Murdoch, the first man to invent domestic gaslighting. His house can be visited and his invention is celebrated with Murdoch Day every year during mid June with an exciting programme of events including children’s dance and art procession, all day music and entertainment, a street market, old time fair exhibitions and a variety of live concerts and other events around the town. Redruth also hosts an annual Pasty & Mining Festival each September. The event is focussed around the town centre. The Friday is Mining Day, the Saturday is Pasty Day and the Sunday is Memorial & Fun Day. Activities on Pasty Day include cookery demonstrations and ‘make your own pasty’. Portreath is the closest beach, being only 3 miles away. With Porthtowan, Gwithian, Hayle, St Ives, St Agnes and Perranporth all a stones’ through away on the north Cornish coast. Each beach is unique boasting beautiful golden sand, cliffs and rocks with miles of coastal paths ready to be discovered with The Pound being a great location for you to relax after any expedition, however being close to the A30 there is traffic noise in the garden, but not inside the accommodation. Overlooking both Camborne and Redruth and reaching up to 738 feet above sea level is Carn Brea which is 1.8 miles away. The Carn can be seen from most high ground in Cornwall and the monument on top easily picked out. Conversely the view from the top of the Carn takes in both coasts and a good deal of the Camborne/Redruth conurbation. What is not apparent from any distance is the size of the monument, with it being a 90 foot high granite obelisk. The huge hexagonal column was erected in 1836 in memory of Francis Bassett, Lord de Dunstaville. The Bassetts where the most important mining family in the area and had lived in Tehidy for over 700 years (Tehidy is now the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Now managed as a Country Park, Tehidy has over 9 miles (14.5km) of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes to explore, together with a café and a picnic area. Francis Bassett was however the first to be elevated to the nobility due to his efforts to raise an army of miners to defend the port of Plymouth from the combined Spanish and French fleets. Another legacy of the Bassett family is Carn Brea Castle. It is suggested that it started out as an Elizabethan hunting lodge, was a Victorian folly and is now a restaurant. Carn Brea also has associations with the legendary giants of Cornwall. It is said to be the home of the giant Bolster who when standing could put his other foot on top of St Agnes Beacon over 10 miles away! Cornwall's capital city Truro is 11 miles away. Truro Cathedral is located in the centre of this thriving Cornish city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the duchy of Cornwall. Designed by architect John Loughborough Pearson, it is one of only three cathedrals in the UK which has three spires. Completed in 1910 it is a magnificent example of gothic revival architecture. A must-see place to visit in Cornwall with free entry. The Bissoe Cycle Path is a coast to coast trail that links Portreath harbour 11 miles across the county to the port of Devoran on the South coast. In the 1800s, this trail was used as a mineral tramway for the copper mines around Redruth. The Eden Project (Cornish: Edenva) is a popular visitor attraction in Cornwall. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed china clay pit and is 33 miles away. The Minack is a unique theatre perched on the cliffs high above the Atlantic ocean where they hold musicals and operas every summer, together with music, comedy and story-telling events. The Minack is 27 miles away. St Michaels Mount is 17 miles away. St Michael's Mount is a tidal island in Mount's Bay, Cornwall. The island is a civil parish and is linked to the town of Marazion by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low water. It is managed by the National Trust, and the castle and chapel have been the home of the St Aubyn family since approximately 1650. St Ives is classed as the dazzling jewel in Cornwall’s crown. A picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town and listed as one of TripAdvisor’s top 10 European beaches. Welcome to our home! Our aim is to make it a home from home and we hope you have a lovely stay and love St Agnes as much as we do! On our doorstep we have fabulous pubs (including a microbrewery) and we are a 10 minute walk to the beach and a 1 minute walk to the main St Agnes village with shops, restaurants and cafes. There is also a playground a few metres away so great if you have any littles. There is lots to do nearby - kayaking trips, surf lessons, coasteering, walking the coast path.
In the room is a comfy double bed, a chest of drawers, a digital radio, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a bedside table. There is a wardrobe to hang your clothes in and towels are provided. There is a large bath or shower and a separate toilet. You are most welcome to use our wifi. The bedroom is a double bedroom but the bed could be pushed to the side if you needed a travel cot (we have one you can use). We have off road parking and are based in a very quiet part of the village (although actually only 2 streets back from the main drag) Our home has a resident feline 'Jarvis', who like most cats will stay clear of humans until he is hungry! Also like most cats he doesn't mix well with dogs (!) so unfortunately we can't accept anyone coming with dogs We live in a bungalow so ideal if you struggle with stairs. Please note that we will happily consider longer stays - please message us privately if you would like to stay more than the 5 nights maximum stated on the listing If you are here for a longer stay then you would be most welcome to use our washing machine and dryer too. We have a 2 year old son so if you are travelling with littles we have plenty of toys/highchairs/travel cot etc to make your stay a bit easier for you! (&leave you space in the car to pack other!) Over the Christmas period we have a second double bedroom available - please see the linked listing
St Agnes is a truly wonderful village, full of charm and is a very strong community with lots of events going on throughout the year. It has arguably 3 of the most beautiful beaches in the region within the parish including Chapel Porth where you can pick up an 'Iced Hedgehog' (ice cream, covered in clotted cream, rolled in roasted hazelnuts!). It is ideally situated a few miles off the A30 meaning you can get around easily. Whether you are a fish and chips on the beach kind of person or a meal in a nice restaurant, there is something for everyone and there are plenty of nice pubs to choose from. You can access the coast path very easily from our house and see some of the most beautiful scenery in Cornwall including the former tin mine Wheal Coates (an iconic image of Cornwall and a great place for a picnic)
  • So friendly, so flexible, great price. Looking forward to coming back next month. X

  • I'm really excited about my stay in Susie's place! From the first step into the home of this wonderful family I felt totally at home, like I was visiting old friends. Everywhere at the house you could find cute little details telling about love and precious memories. The guest room had everything a traveller might need, and I especially loved the comfy bed and funny wifi password:) Also there're a lot of guidebooks about Cornwall in the house so you can make travel research if you need too. Susie and her husband are very sweet and nice to chat to. They provided very detailed instructions on how to find their house and were in constant contact so getting to the house was easy. Also they had some suggestions about my travel itinerary and it was very helpful!

  • Susie and Stu really did go above and beyond to make our stay special (even when we arrived late after breaking down)! The room was lovely; it was clean and had all the amenities you could want. Their house is beautiful and in a fantastic position in St Agnes. They were more than happy to offer advice about the area, which was especially useful for us as we are considering a move to Cornwall. Would highly recommend!

St Agnes is on the north Cornwall heritage coastline with easy access to the South West coastal path. There are several shops in the village and a good variety of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. The city of Truro is 8 miles away and lies on the main South West rail link. There are buses from the village to Truro and Newquay.
  • This little house is conveniently situated near the heart of the village (less than one minute from best coffee shop) and 10 minutes' walk from Trevaunance Cove and the coast paths (several other coffee shops en-route). It has everything you need including a wood burner for when it is cold and a sunny terrace - if it ever comes out again (written Mar '20). Harrold and Bridget are great hosts who will go out of there way to help and make your stay completely effortless and enjoyable.

    Mark2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for both amenities and location. Cannot fault it. Hopefully going back again in the summer.

    Sally2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Bridget’s place is perfect for a couple or small family with one double and single bedrooms. The house is comfortable and well equipped for cooking and has a washing machine. In the warmer months there is a terrace overlooking the garden. The house is well located for everything in St Agnes yet on a quiet street. The excellent bakery and butchers are only a few minutes walk down the road. There are many beautiful walks and great pubs. The pizza place is also very good. Really no need for a car once you get there. Highly recommended.

  • Absolutely wonderful place in St Agnes. Very high spec. Very welcoming hosts you passed on a few tips of where to go (including the park and ride at St Erth for St Ives). Fabulous short break in sunny October.

    Alison2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Bridget's modern place was very clean, comfortable and convenient. A short 3min walk to the St Agnes village shops, cafés and restaurants. Loved the stylish features such as large indoor palm, wooden floorboards and large glass door looking out onto the lovely back courtyard garden (that we could access). Bridget and her partner were very friendly & helpful and we would definitely try to stay in their place again if we came back to Cornwall.

    Lachlan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. The accommodation was well equipped. Fab shower. Nice space to relax in after a day spent exploring. Liked being able to walk to the beach and short walk to local shops eg the bakery and coffee shop. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

    Andrew2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this beautiful annex. Everything was sparkling clean and the bed was super comfortable and the kitchen, bathroom and shower all very modern and clean. Bridget and Harold were both so friendly and helpful during my four-day stay and gave me lots of local tips about swimming opportunities and local places to visit. I would highly recommend their place to anyone looking for centrally-located and delightful accommodation in St. Agnes.

    Susan2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at Bridget and Harold’s place and they were great hosts. The annex is very well situated in St Agnes - walking distance to the beach, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and a great base to explore this part of Cornwall. The annex was spotless and had everything we needed - the kitchen was very well equipped and was a real home from home. The decor was very tasteful and it was nice to be able to open the patio doors onto a decking area in the garden.

Beautiful self catering holiday cottage in the heart of St Agnes. Cosy, comfortable and charmingly decorated, with open fire, off street parking and garden. We prefer 7 nights minimum stay (Sat to Sat), but please contact us for out-of-season short breaks.
The cottage sleeps 5, and is perfectly situated in the heart of St Agnes, seconds away from local amenities, and a 10 minute walk to the beach. We use it in all seasons and all weathers (!) as a family holiday home. In summer it's the perfect place to relax in the sunny garden before and after trips to the beach, to nearby Truro, or walks up to St Agnes Beacon, or along the coast path to Chapel Porth and as far as your feet can take you! On colder evenings, there is a large open fireplace for added cosiness... The lounge/dining room has plenty of comfortable seating, and a large dining table with 6 chairs: tv/dvd player & small radio/cd player. Kitchen has electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer & microwave. Bathroom has over-bath electric shower, and immersion heater for hot water and a portable clothes dryer. Heating is storage heaters and open fire, and extra heaters in every bedroom.
St Agnes is situated within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is 15 minutes from Truro, Cornwall's historic County Town. There are beautiful walks in every direction, beautiful beaches in every direction, and St Agnes itself offers high quality pubs, restaurants, shops, and plenty going on throughout the year.
  • We loved our cosy stay at the cottage! Perfectly located in the centre of the village, everything was close by and easy to access. The cottage was lovely and cosy and we especially enjoyed have the open fire! Thanks for hosting us and we look forward to returning!

  • Second time staying at peace and plenty and just as wonderful as before. Ian is a great host and the cottage is a perfect base for exploring gorgeous Cornwall. If you want modern and new, don’t stay here. If however you like quirky, vintage and original, you’ll fall in love with aggie and peace and plenty just as much as we have. See you next year! X

It is the original setting of Winston Graham's Poldark novels and much of the recent BBC TV series was filmed in and around the village. The immediate surroundings are a UNESCO World Heritage site in recognition of the tin mining history and the unique mining landmarks that are scattered across the beautiful landscape and stunning coastline. Locals and visitors come to St Agnes to enjoy the sandy beaches , the great surf, the fabulous coastal walks and great pubs, restaurants and live music. Trehannah makes a great base to explore all of Cornwall as the anywhere in the County will be within a 45 minute drive. However St Agnes is such a fun village that lots of our guests just park up the car and walk to the beach , the coastal path, the bakery, the butchers, the seafood deli, the pub .........
  • Staying in Nigel’s place was a lovely way to welcome the new year. We went on a beautiful coastal walk and even saw some people swimming! Would love to come back and see it in the summer.

We know the area quite well but for those who don’t there are lots of books/leaflets/information on where to go/what to do. A lovely place to stay with very responsive host

St Agnes is a popular and picturesque, north coast village just 9 miles from Truro and 5 miles from Redruth, the village itself was originally based around the mining of tin, copper and arsenic which started in prehistoric times and continued until the 20th century, other local industries are farming and fishing but more recently tourism has risen to the fore. There have been several attempts to build a harbour in St Agnes, the most recent succumbed to a storm in 1915-16, however the glorious sandy beaches more than compensate. The village offers many restaurants, pubs, cafes and take aways (Pizza, Chinese, Indian, Fish & Chips etc) There are also plenty of small galleries as well as a free museum on the outskirts. The village also has a supermarket, butchers, post office, bank, bakers, chemist, fruit and veg, florist as well as some excellent gift shops. It is also a walkers heaven being perfectly situated for exploring the coastal paths, the captivating history and the beautiful nearby beaches of Trevaunance Cove and Trevellas Porth at St Agnes, Chapel Porth, and Perranporth. St Agnes Beacon is a 328 foot climb, and on a fine day you can see from coast to coast. The view is spectacular and well worth the climb. The North Coast contains the best beaches for surfing, Perranporth and Porthtowan are a short drive away and both provide equipment hire. Wheal Coates tin mine, near Chapel Porth is a prominent feature of the North Coast and is the beginning of a trail that continues past many other mining works down to Trevellas, the last tin production site in Cornwall.Redruth and Camborne, to the south, are at the centre of Cornwall's traditional industrial heritage. To celebrate this, a new free visitor attraction called "Heartlands Cornwall" has been recently completed just off the A30 in Pool (between Redruth and Camborne). This is the UK's first cultural playground and includes a huge adventure playground made out of timber, including the custom-made "giants trap" which lives up to the legend of Bolster, a local giant, who fell head over heels for a St Agnes maid. Art studios and galleries regularly display pieces by local and national artists. There are wild botanical gardens, world heritage site exhibitions, a visitor centre and regular markets with local produce. To the south west, following the A30, Mount's Bay opens up before you with St Michael's Mount and then on past Penzance to the wild and rugged extremes of Land's End and Cape Cornwall. The open air Minack theatre is just the other side of Penzance and offers a truly stunning and surreal venue to take in a production; full details are on their website.

  • Awesome beach apartment with amazing ocean views. The views cannot be overstated. We happened to be there during the highest tides of the year and so the waves were upon us during high tide and it was loud at times, however this didn’t bother us a bit and we actually thought it was quite fun, even soothing. I think I slept better than usual as a result. Loved watching the waves crash from the living room windows. (The ocean noise was clearly stated in the listing details so this is not at all a complaint, only mentioning it as it was part of our experience). The amenities are top notch in this unit, with everything you could ever need, from microwave to dishwasher. And did I mention the views? Fantastic hiking trails in the immediate vicinity and the town has some great shops and restaurants. We can’t wait to get back to Cornwall for a longer stay, hopefully at the Breakers Cafe apartment!

  • Absolutely gorgeous locations, couldn’t get a better view than from this apartment for Trevaunance Cove. Stylish and cozy building with an amazing brie whatever the weather. Shops/village is about a 20 minute walk away - a just as stunning place. We will definitely look to come back!

    Luke2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant place to stay. That view alone is worth it. Can't wait to go back.

  • One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The view from the flat is breathtaking. People are nice and kind in the village. Jo is a very professional host who has excellent communication skills. She’s also very accommodating. The village is nice and quiet, has shops in the centre ( it’s walkable but good to have a car). The flat is very clean and has everything you need to cook decent meals which made our stay very comfortable. All in all we had a wonderful stay would definitely recommend it!

The Linhay is a recent conversion of a charming stone farm building situated in a secluded and peaceful position, in beautiful rolling countryside north of Truro. The luxurious accommodation incorporates many traditional features of the original barn, but uses cutting edge energy saving technology to minimise its environmental impact. A quite superb location close to the bustling cathedral city of Truro, yet also within a 15 minute drive of the spectacular coastline around Porthtowan & St Agnes. Dog friendly.
Situated 4 miles north of Truro, yet only 7 miles from the golden sands of Perranporth, the sleepy hamlet of Tregavethen is an enchanting rural retreat where you can find true peace and quiet, broken only by the sounds of local wildlife and the odd passing tractor. The Linhay was a traditional agricultural building that has been sympathetically refurbished into a quite superb two bedroom holiday home by its very caring owners, who live a short distance away. The accommodation benefits from a sizeable open plan kitchen / living space with dining table and sofas, and French windows opening onto a secluded patio area. There are two large en-suite bedrooms, one of which also has French windows to the garden so is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee. The Linhay is a particularly environmentally friendly place to stay with cutting edge energy saving technology including solar panels, an air source heat pump, LED or energy saving light fittings wherever possible, and a rain water harvesting and recycling system. There is also a cosy wood burning stove to keep things really warm on cooler evenings. One of our luxury, dog friendly holiday cottages in Cornwall. Accommodation Ground Floor Only: The open plan living room is bright and airy with a high ceiling and exposed beams, and incorporates a kitchen, dining area and living area with 2 large sofas. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and an en-suite bathroom with an over-bath shower. There is a further twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room and French windows opening onto a secluded garden. Both bedrooms are fitted with attractive, locally made pine furniture. Exterior: The private garden is on two levels, with both grassed and patio areas with unspoilt rural views, external furniture and barbeque facilities. Facilities & Services There is underfloor heating throughout, heated towel rails in both bathrooms and a wood burning stove (with an initial supply of wood provided - extra complimentary logs available on request in winter). The fully fitted kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, kettle, toaster, fridge / freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. In the living area there is a flatscreen digital TV and a DVD player. WiFi is available at the property. There is an iron and ironing board. A highchair and travel cot are provided (please bring bedding for travel cot). Accessibility information: There are no internal steps in the cottage, and small raised thresholds at the front and patio doors. The lower garden and patio are at the same level as the accommodation, and can be accessed from both inside the cottage and from the flat grassed track running beside the cottage. The upper garden has wide, shallow steps (approximately 4 inches high) to it. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen (apart from travel cot bedding) and towels are all included. Guests are to provide their own beach towels. There is off road parking for up to 2 vehicles. Up to 2 well behaved dogs will be permitted at a small additional cost of £25 per dog/per week (please bring towels for dogs and do not allow them on furniture). Regrettably no smoking is allowed. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally Friday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £100 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.
For those wishing to sample the enormous strength of the Atlantic Ocean will do well to bring their surf boards to the Atlantic Coast. From Chapel Porth above Porthtowan, passing Perranporth, along to Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay at Newquay, up to Trevose Head and Polzeath past Padstow you will find all the best surfing beaches in the South West, of not only Cornwall but also England. The cliffs surrounding these beaches are nothing short of dramatic. In contrast to the gently rolling shores of the south coast, the north have dark mysterious drops where land has been eaten by the atlantic ocean, hence why the waves are far better here. Inland you will find Wheal Coates Mine, now looked after by the National Trust, part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. St Agnes is part of only 12 sites in Cornwall awarded Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Newquay is not only famous for Fistral Beach, but Newquay Airport connects the county to places such as the Isles of Scilly, Edinburgh and Alicante. The Saints Way Trail is a 30 mile path from Padstow on the Atlantic Coast to Fowey on the South Coast. Padstow is more commonly known as Rick Stein country following the success of his numerous businesses in the town. Lucky really that the National Lobster Hatchery is just a stones throw away. Wadebridge, once a Market Town is now more widely known as being part of The Camel Trail, that takes the cyclist out to Padstow from the depths of Bodmin Moor. Occupying a dramatic valley location with one of the most spectacular and beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Coast, Porthtowan has been drawing visitors for years to take advantage of its natural sun trap. A superb location for a holiday to Cornwall with a fine beach and close to good main roads means that you can easily explore the surrounding area on days that are not conducive to sitting on the beach. Porthtowan has one of Cornwall's finest surfing waves. Producing good waves at all states of the tide, the wave is particularly good in an easterly or south easterly when it really pumps with some lovely hollow barrels. It is not for the faint hearted and beginners should be careful. An excellent surf school operates from the beach. At low tide the beach stretches down to St Agnes Head and Chapel Porth Beach where you will find a lovely National Trust Cafe full of warming hot chocolate and fabulous views. The city of Truro is 4 miles away and has a wide selection of good shopping including a Tescos, Sainsburys, Marks & Spencer and many other high street outlets. There is also a cinema and a great selection of restaurants, pubs & cafes. The resort of Newquay is about 12 miles to the north with its spectacular surf beaches at Fistral & Watergate Bay. Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" restaurant is located here. Padstow, with its fine selection of restaurants influenced by Rick Stein is just over 20 miles. Harbourside towns & villages such as Fowey, Falmouth & St Mawes are all within easy reach. For those flying to Cornwall, the airport is within easy reach. The Cathedral City of Truro is in the heart of Cornwall and offers a wealth of facilities for the visitor. Dominated by the stunning cathedral, it is one of the south west's most attractive cities. Lemon Quay plays host to many events throughout the year including the Cornwall Food & Drink Festival in the Autumn and the famous Truro Fatstock Show just before Christmas. Regular farmers markets occur every Wednesdays & Saturday and there are also arts & craft markets on Saturdays. There is a wonderful range of shopping for the visitor including all the regular high street stores, but Truro also has a wide range of more specialist stores. It really is worth a wander through the back streets and alleys to find some fabulous little boutiques. Truro has a superb range of restaurants from Bustopher Jones & Mannings on Lemon Street to the always popular Pizza Express. There are lively bars, pubs & nightclubs including the superb Old Ale House, a busy Wetherspoons and the infamous L2 if you are so inclined! The Hall for Cornwall hosts everything from Shakespeare to rock concerts and the cinema on Lemon Street has all the latest releases.

  • This is a great place to stay, very well equipped, spotlessly clean. We had a warm welcome from our hosts. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable. An excellent base for exploring Cornwall, be prepared for narrow lanes!

  • Beautiful well cared for cottage. We stayed with our two dogs. The gardens are enclosed so perfect for us. Quiet location but also close enough to towns and beaches by car. Would definitely recommend.

  • Lovely location, very peaceful. The cottage is well-equipped with almost everything you could need during your stay. It was easy to prep our own meals as the kitchen was well equipped and there is even a washing machine and a dryer. Had a wonderful time and would book again.

  • Ground level, cozy, practical cottage. A converted agricultural building, in the middle of the countryside. From the window you can sometimes see horses, cows, sheep. Each of the 2 bedrooms has its own bathroom with toilet, once a bath, once a shower. The living room is comfortably furnished with 2 sofas and TV, dining table with armchairs and spacious, fully and richly equipped kitchen. Free Wi-Fi works throughout the house. In a folder you will find all important information on how everything works in the house. On arrival we were greeted with a fresh bunch of flowers, milk for the first breakfast, Cornish biscuits, even coffee, tea, sugar and salt were there! We were 3 adults, including an old lady, the ground floor cottage was ideal. But there is also a baby high chair and unbreakable crockery for babies. There is a small patio in front of the living room, with barbecue, which we did not use. A few steps lead to the second part of the garden that surrounds the house. Parking is possible in front of the house. As continental Europeans, one soon realizes that many roads in Cornwall are very narrow, including part of the road to Linhay. We liked it very much there!

  • A great retreat in the middle of nowhere! Very peaceful, secluded, dog friendly and well equipped. Fresh flowers on our arrival and a pint of milk in the fridge. The only thing that bothered us upon arrival was the noise of the heating system. After communicating it to the owner, she immediately proposed a great solution and fixed it. The setup in very dog friendly, so is the garden. We’ve seen pheasants every morning walking past our living room. Really cool.
