Places to stay in Pubnico
This new home is in a quiet location, off the main road. The open-concept first floor has the kitchen, living room and dining area, as well as a half-bathroom with laundry. The three bedrooms and two full baths are on the second floor.
The listing says 6 people because there are beds for 6...but there is room for more...the master bedroom is very big with room for a playpen, or an air bed (both can be provided), or the first floor living room has plenty of room should you banish someone to sleeping on the floor. :) If this listing is booked check out my second listing...all the same amenities!
Pubnico is the oldest Acadian village in the world. All the amenities you will need are nearby, and you are only a 30 minute drive away from Yarmouth. This home is 5 km from Pubnico golf course, near many beautiful walking trails, and there is a gym down the road. There are also plenty of drop-in yoga classes in Pubnico. Pubnico has a Royal Bank, and Credit Union, 4 great restaurants, grocery stores, an Acadian museum, and a beautiful historical 17 acres Acadian village which will give you a tour of Acadian life in the early 1900s. I will gladly show you around, provide you with directions (trust me, everything is easy to find!), and contact numbers for any plans you'd like to make!
  • We found a clean, spacious home. Jackie was a great host, making sure we knew the details, very quick in response to any questions we had and checked in with us via email to made sure our stay was satisfy. Although the road getting to the house is not paved it is a lovely spot. Close to the largest fishing village in Canada, surrounding area was fun to explore. A bit of a drive to Yarmouth.

  • Another great stay at Jackie's place. This was our third year in a row and we hope to return next year. Great home base to visit this beautiful part of Nova Scotia.

  • My family of 4 plus my parents stayed at Jackie's home while in the area for a sporting event. The house was spotless and beautiful, even better than the pictures. All communication with Jackie was very quick and easy instructions for everything. The house was a fantastic alternative to a hotel as it gave more space during down times and ability to cook our own meals and also go out to some local restaurants. Friends even came in their RV and plenty of room in the driveway to park the RV. Would recommend this house for anyone who is travelling in the area.

The rental is above our garage and set back from our house. You will have a beautiful view of the ocean and a path to walk down to the shore. We are located on the ocean with wharves and fishing boats close by. During lobster season (November to June) you can watch the boats fishing close by.

The King Bedroom Suite at Auberge Yellow Tuna is open year round. Located 15 min. from the Yarmouth Cat Ferry Terminal, close to Wedgeport Tuna Wharf, Tuna Sports Fishing Museum, Breakwater Wharf where Tusket Island Tours set sail to our magnificent Tusket Islands (fishing trips /charters also available), Wedgeport Nature Trail along the shore (5,4 km) with Starlight viewing platform, located in North America's only UNESCO Starlight Tourist certified Destination.
Located in Wedgeport, SW Nova Scotia, with 1 private King Suite & 1 private Queen Suite. Living spaces with propane fireplace, heat pump & spa amenities such as outdoor jacuzzi & barrel sauna & large deck overlooking peaceful Chebeck Bay are shared. Complimentary wireless Internet, cable TV, local telephone, & on-site parking are included. Limited use of kitchen (coffee machine, kettle, fridge, microwave, plates, glasses, silverware, etc.) included. Full use of kitchen (stove for cooking) only included if both suites are rented by the same party at the same time. Therapeutic hydro-massage is available close by (added fee). Tennis courts are close by & free of charge.
Auberge Thon Jaune overlooks Chebeck tidal bay, which ties into the Tusket River Estuary, in SW Nova Scotia, with some of the highest tides in the world. The constant ebb and flow attracts many seabirds, fish, and wildlife, and is extremely relaxing to experience. Unlike most night skies elsewhere, you can enjoy a vista of clouds moving, moon and starlight, and on very clear nights, with a brilliant Milky Way. Wedgeport is located on a peninsula, surrounded by the ocean, Tusket river estuary, and 365 Tusket islands – in a quaint, peaceful, bilingual, and historic Acadian fishing village, with an extremely joyous and tolerant culture. Although fully connected, you can easily tap into an unencumbered world of the past, connect to nature, and above all, unplug. There are several hiking trails along the ocean, places where private boats can be launched conveniently, many islands to explore, and the night sky (whether filled with moving clouds, or brilliant stars) is amazing. We have a bistro (with fair trade speciality coffee and espresso drinks, breakfast, lunch, dinner), a restaurant at the Tuna Museum, and a convenience store with all the necessities, including liquor store and mini gas station, and major shopping is only 15 minutes away in Yarmouth. Wedgeport is Internationally known as the Tuna Fishing Capital of the World, and home of the Sharp Cup. It is ideally located located for visitors to the Deep Sky Eye Observatory in Quinan (an unforgettable experience that should not be missed) & for those researching Acadian roots. Tusket, the seat of this municipality, is close by, and home of Tusket Falls Microbrewery, a cozy place to enjoy a craft beer or a coffee, and to take in a local concert. The Hatfield House restaurant in Tusket is located in a beautifully restored historic building, and the ideal place for romantic gourmet dinners. Family researchers will enjoy the archives in Tusket, and especially the Musée in Pubnico, with meticulous records dating back to the earliest Acadian settlers in this area. A visit at Le Village in Pubnico should also not be missed, to experience how first settlers lived in the past. To complement the Spa experience at Auberge Thon Jaune, with its hot tub overlooking the bay, and the outdoor barrel sauna, the sister property Auberge Nathalie Ora also offers therapeutic Hydromassages.
  • Stunning views. Right on winding river with great sunrise views from all windows at back of house. Very well stocked. Fireplace. Hot tub. Sauna. Host is extremely thorough, pleasant and helpful. Skylights in upstairs bedroom provides natural light and stunning views. Huge deck and firepit by water. We will be returning to this spectacular property.

  • This is a dreamy place to get away to with your s/o. We stayed in the winter and enjoyed every bit of it. The hot tub was very clean which was a bonus. The location is very peaceful, private and romantic, with lots of beautiful scenery all around. Esther was beyond friendly; the best host iv'e had through my many airbnb stays. There is no doubt we will be back and recommending to friends!

    Maddy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely perfect space for relaxation and tranquility. We were wowed when you walk in and see how beautifully designed and maintained the space is, with thoughtful little touches and lots of space to relax. The hot tub is just the icing on the cake! Thank you for a wonderful weekend stay for a special birthday!b

  • Overall great experience!

  • Ester has gone above and beyond in this lovely spa inspired home in Wedgeport. The house is beautifully renovated, every room is has a water view with amazing decor, just the right balance of modern with antiques. I highly recommend this place, Ester shared some great activities to do even in the winter. I plan to return very soon!

    Robin2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Esthers place was amazing for a quick relaxing getaway from the city. Spotless and beautiful with modern/rustic touches.. so much thought went into every detail and it truly shows! This definitely won’t be our last stay here.

    Gema2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here, the hot tub and sauna were the main reasons that attracted us here, but the attention to detail and place was beautiful. We hope to return again, sadly the night sky was not too clear but that did not matter. Esther was extremely welcoming and made us feel at home

    Rob2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for one night on a romantic birthday getaway, but we wish it had been longer! The place has been beautifully re-done, it’s lovely, open and inviting. The hot tub and the view were certainly the highlights for us!! Esther was also great- Somehow my google maps led us to the wrong spot so we were late getting in, and when I called she even offered to come find us if we were stuck! At checkin she took us through all the things the house had to offer, and made sure we knew how to take advantage of it all. Someone else was staying in the other room while we were there, but we never actually crossed paths. The common areas in the house are pretty big- there would definitely be more than enough room for everyone. I would certainly recommend, and we hope to be back next year and stay for longer! 😊

My house was built 100 years ago on 2.5 acres of land overlooking the Pubnico Harbour. Across the street is the oldest house in the village built in 1789 . You’ll have lots of inspiration as you sit around the fire pit at night telling ghost stories. The deck faces east so it’s a perfect place to drink your coffee and watch the sun rise over the harbour or watch the moonrise with a glass of wine. It’s the last house on Old Church Road so there is almost no traffic and it’s a five minute walk to the “Village Historique Acadien de la Nouvelle-Ecosse” https://levillage.novascotia.ca . It’s a great place for cycling, kayaking, hiking or just going to the beach. Sand Hills Provincial Park is my personal favourite, or The Hawk beach on Cape Sable Island. The Pubnico Point Trail is a great hike for kids, it’s 4 km (2.5 miles) and you get to see the windmills up close. If off road biking is your sport then check out the 87 km multi-use trail called the “Yarmouth County Rail Train” . The West Pubnico Golf Club is 15 minutes away. In case of rainy days don’t forget the many museums, craft shops and thrift stores. Consult the Doers and Dreamers travel guide published by the government of NS for more ideas and the exact dates of all the locals festivals. The house has all you need to cook, plus there is a gas bbq. The grocery (De La Tour Co-Op) and liquor store is 1.2 km away, they sell local fish. In the summer, farmers have road side stands and weekly markets. The convenience store near the d’Eon’s Bakery sells fresh fish. The Eel Lake Oyster Farm is less than 30 minutes away and their oysters are delicious. You can always go to one of the three wharfs in the village and fish for your supper. Yarmouth is 40 minutes so it’s very handy if you plan on traveling on the Cat Ferry and the Digby ferry terminal is 1h45 minutes away. Whether you “come from away” or you’re visiting friends and family my house is a comfortable place to call home base. My sister lives right next door and she can help if you have any questions.
The house is all yours. The huge back yard goes right to the harbour. If you have a kayak it’s a perfect spot to slide into the water and explore the harbour. You can pick a new bouquet of wild flowers every day.
  • Conveniently located in Pubnico. 20 minute walk to Dennis point cafe and wharf and 5 minute walk to grocery store. Everything you need an more at the spacious house. Acadian Village a stones throw away. We had two kids under two and little extras such as LEGO and other toys were appreciated. Incredible ocean views from inside house and wrap-around deck. Thanks Rachel & Lorette!

    Katie2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Vue du Havre is situated in a breathtaking spot in Pubnico. Just down the road from the charming historic Acadian Village which has fantastic views and a great lunch spot. If you're looking for a down home experience in Pubnico, this is it!

    Penny2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible place! A Masterpiece! The view is mesmerizing and the house is so beautiful and charming. Thank you Rachelle and Lorette! See you again soon

    Jean2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful place. The scenery is next to none.

    Ann2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We just returned home from visiting my home town of Yarmouth and highly recommend The Vue du havre/ harbourview in West Pubnico. Lorette's home has beautiful harbour view right in the back yard and the home is clean, spacious with all the amenities you need. We are looking forward to another stay. Thanks Lorette and Rachel for making our stay that more enjoyable.

    Rose2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we have stayed at Lorette’s house. It has the best view in Pubnico and is totally peaceful and relaxing. Can’t wait to return next summer. Special thanks to Rachel, Lorette’s sister, for taking such good care of us!

    Charmaine2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lorette's home is in a lovely spot with a picture perfect view. Her home is clean, neat, and has everything you need for a relaxing vacation or rest. Our family, including grandparents and children, loved our stay and would love to visit again.

    Maureen2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lorette’s lovely home by the sea. The view from the deck was spectacular, and we enjoyed kayaking and crabbing down by the water. The house contained every thing we needed, was clean and very comfortable. The town of Middle West Pubnico was spread out and rural, but the co-op was right around the corner for groceries as was the Village Historique Acadien, which was an amazing step back in time, and of one of our favorite spots.

There’s a a cool breeze off of the water. In the kitchen, it is so well equipped that you can prepare a wonderful meal. Very nice kitchen wares. The ice maker was so convenient too. Enjoy the peace and quiet of a country cottage, with a great view over the Chebogue River. Or, use our cottage as an artist retreat. Both hosts are artists. Bird watching and walking opportunities are close by. Bonus: There is always a breeze, so no bugs. We have dark skies, so on a clear night, you will see lots of stars! Car rental and return is available through Enterprise at the ferry terminal. However, we are also able to assist you in getting from and to ferry if needed.
This country cottage, with its English garden and private deck, make an excellent get-away for two people. Whether you paint, photograph, read or walk, the fresh air and quiet will rejuvenate you. The kitchenette is adequate for breakfast and lunch, but not for full meals. There is a BBQ out by the back deck for your use. We have an outdoor sauna in the garden which you may use.
Chebogue Point is known as a bird watchers paradise. We are part of the Unesco NS Biosphere with a Dark Skies designation. If you are staying for awhile, there are many day trips available. There will be lots of information in the cottage.
  • A hidden gem of relaxation and comfort. Hot tub, sauna, wood fire, and delicious muffins. A true delight, thank you again, we will be back

  • I've traveled extensively and can say that this is the nicest Airbnb I have stayed in. Communication with Sue and Dan was easy and the check-in was a breeze. The location of this property lends itself to perfect serenity from the beautiful sunrise to the many songbirds flitting about. The cottage is very tastefully decorated with interesting and eclectic art. It is a clean, cozy, relaxing space, and the stocked breakfast items were a delightful bonus. I can't wait to return.

Welcome to our quaint Cape Cod style home with spectacular panoramic views of the Chebogue River. This secluded house is conveniently located only 10 minutes away from all the amenities downtown Yarmouth has to offer, including restaurants, shopping, and the ferry terminal.
Our house is located on the Chebogue River (saltwater) and is at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy, which has the highest tides in the world. On the first floor, you will find a garage (manual door) as well as the washer and dryer. The living area is located on the second floor and offers a spectacular panoramic view of the water and surrounding area with floor to ceiling windows. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and one with a double bed. Both have brand new mattresses to provide you with a comfortable sleep after you spend your busy days exploring the area. The bathroom has a walk-in shower that is very easy to get in and out of. In the morning, you can grab a tea or coffee from the bar in the living room and sit and watch the boats go by. On a nice day, the deck is a great spot to sit with a book and relax, or the perfect spot to have dinner. Take the kayaks out on the river when the weather is nice. The house has high speed wireless internet, as well as Netflix on the TV. The house has a heat pump system which can easily be adjusted with a remote control to keep you warm in the winter or cool in the summer. We hope you enjoy your stay!
The location is great because you will be a short 5-10 minute drive from grocery stores, shopping a well as the downtown, but also nice because it is a very private, secluded space you can enjoy to yourself. Our house is the only one on the street and overlooks a saltwater river facing East, so it has beautiful morning light and sun rises.
  • Jessica's place was amazing! It was the quiet getaway that we needed. The house was impeccable, the view was outstanding and we look forward to going back again someday!

  • Hands down my favourite Airbnb in Nova Scotia and one of my favourites anywhere in the world. This was my third time staying there. The house is so relaxing and cosy. The most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen was from this living room the first time I stayed. Great place to write, birdwatch and stare at the tide come in and out. Comfy bed, everything you need to make food, Jessica is so friendly and responsive. This is one of those places you almost don't want to recommend because you want it to be available for when you want to stay!!! But Jessica has created such a perfect spot and deserves to have this place booked up! The way the light shines into this house throughout the day is so stunning. Can't recommend it enough. I hope to return for a week to get some writing done soon.

  • The place is very cute and private. A very nice weekend!

    Lee Anne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing. A fantastic spot that is close to town, but located to give you a feel of privacy. The house is layed out beautifully and the view was amazing. Jessica left everything you would need to know about the house and the town. The coffee and espresso machine was very appreciated! We look forward to using this spot again.

    Jeff2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place far exceeded my expectations! It was comfortable, stylish, clean, cozy, and just BEAUTIFUL. The view is unbeatable, it's silent, private, and truly a break from the day to day. I highly recommend!

  • Great views and a stylish modern and welcoming space. Great coffee/ tea available.

    Lori Ann2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! All the amenities and little touches (like the coffee making facilities) make it extra special. Even a power outtage from a storm didn't ruin our stay at the house with all the help and attention we received. Gorgeous views of the sunrise over the river too. There's everything you need here. Shower was great too and WiFi all good. Would highly recommend as hosts and accommodation for anyone visiting the area. Thank you so much

  • Great spot. Response was quick. Check in was easy. Beautiful spot, very tidy and has everything you may need for a short stay.

  • Recent new build. Ample parking on site. Extremely well kept, clean. Kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. There's also a bbq on the deck. Wifi and internet access speeds were pretty good. Did not try the satellite tv service. Good sound isolation in that the bedrooms are separated by a bathroom b/w them, and duplex units themselves are separated by a laundry/utility room. Quiet, peaceful area of Nova Scotia. You're about 35 minutes from Yarmouth if you've forgotten anything.

  • Jackie’s home in West Pubnico was lovely. The house was great— very clean and decorated nicely. We comfortably fit 5 people without a problem and it feels just like home with the decor and amenities. She was there for us with questions and really quick to reply. We love to stay in the Argyle/ Pubnico area as it’s close to Yarmouth but a quaint small town near the ocean. Nice people and with it being a fishing community, close to some great restaurants for fish! We will DEFINITELY be back again!

  • Inspiring space, we slept so soundly and woke up to the most incredible sky. I’d recommend this to anyone and look forward to the opportunity to return. It’s a good stooping point for anyone making a tour or motor trip of the province. Next time I’m going swimming in Milo lake!

  • Jamie & Petra have a beautiful spot. Views of the lake really make it. The studio is cozy, comfortable, clean and very modern with a European flair. A compact kitchen and bar fridge allow for putting together a simple meal or breakfast. No formal sitting area but the stools at the small breakfast bar suffice. I enjoyed my stay :)

We offer a nice, clean apartment with double bed and bath in a rural area only 12 minutes from Yarmouth and 15 minutes from the ferry.
This is a studio apartment with a full bath , kitchen/sitting area and double bed. The kitchen/sitting area has a small bar fridge and a microwave. There is no stove in the apartment. However if you do have something that needs to be cooked, we would be more than happy to let you cook it in our family home :) The apartment is attached to our home but has it's own private entrance and a small deck .
  • Another nice Airbnb experience. We had a wonderful stay in Joan‘s apartment. It’s bigger than the pictures depict. It was nice having a mini kitchen to prepare breakfast and eat at the table. It’s very close to Yarmouth easy to find. Having a private entrance was a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again. Enjoy your visit!

  • Joan is quick to respond to your questions and needs. Clean, great value and a good location.

    Denise2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Joan was very warm and provided a quick but thorough walkthrough of the apartment. It is adjoined to the rest of the house but has its own entrance. The shower temperature and water pressure were great. ~15 minutes to the Yarmouth ferry. The photos accurately depicted the apartment - it is simple, clean, and welcoming. We loved the portrait of the dog hanging prominently in the main room.

Harding House is a spacious, sunny 2 bedroom apartment located in Yarmouth's heritage district. Ocean Breeze Tinyhome is situated on our .8 km/1/2 mi Atlantic Oceanfront secluded property in Nova Scotia; North America’s first-certified starlight tourism destination. Nature-lovers hike the forest path, cross a brook & emerge at 30m/98.5’ above sea level, with magnificent views of the Tusket Islands. Enjoy the fire pit, & ocean waves sounds to drift you off to peaceful sleep. Photograph wildlife sightings, savour local cuisine, & music. You have found the perfect get-away-from-it-all.
The Tinyhome 22’ L x 8’ W space is all you really need. Canadian highway compliant, Tinyhome on wheels is 13.5’ tall. Boasting 6’2” high main floor hallway towards the handpainted wall mural, the space then opens into a 12’ ceiling. The loft and staircase are adequate for the average size person. The loft has a unique lowering ceiling, and is comfy and cozy. The newly constructed deck will be your favourite space to enjoy a warm or cold beverage. The netted gazebo is the perfect bug-free zone for those sunsets you long to savour, and viewing delightful, light-pollution-free, starry nights!
The sandy secluded beach takes 25 minutes to walk along from one end to the other, and you might see 2-3 humans and 1 dog, maybe, at the most. It’s only a 5 minute drive away. The nearby village is quaint, quiet, and the fishermen’s boat wharf where fresh lobster is for sale, is a 5 minute walk away. Ask us about arranging: a guided walk to our shore, a bird watching tour, an oceanside fire barbecue, a boat cruise with a local fisherman, an abstract art class, or a sand labyrinth experience.
  • What a wonderful place to stay! This remote town is a gem! Make sure to take the 25 min hike to the ocean, it feels like untouched land. Pinkneys beach was beautiful, seeing the beach at low tide vs high tide was really cool. Karen was an extremely attentive host without making you feel smothered. She took our dietary needs into consideration for breakfast which was wonderful. She even built us a few fires :) I would HIGHLY recommend staying in this adorable tiny house.

  • Karen and Ron are great, kind and thoughtful hosts who looked after our every need.. The variety of Gluten Free breakfasts were tasty, delicious and amazing! Information about local events were readily provided. The Tiny Home has everything one needs for a comfortable stay and the quiet restful atmosphere is restorative.

  • Karen's tiny house is lovely and Karen is a very thoughtful host, she went above and beyond to make my stay cozy and fun! She is one of the best AirBNB hosts I've ever encountered. The tiny home is adorable and was perfect for me. The area is absolutely gorgeous too. Karen took me on a hike, highly recommend and wear bug spray, to the beachfront side of her property. It was lovely and a great place to read a book and enjoy the afternoon. Would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Karen is also a fantastic cook and tour guide :)

  • We had a short and wonderful stay here. My favorite part was having a fire blazing in the fire pit, and star gazing on a clear night. Thank you, Karen for your warm hospitality and attention to all the details!

  • Karen and Ron’s Tinyhome is situated in a secluded space, surrounded by nature. You can hear sounds of the ocean in the distance, let’s just say, it was a very peaceful stay. The home is very clean, and beautifully decorated. My husband I escaped from the city (Halifax) to this Tinyhome to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary and to unwind. We received a very warm welcome from Karen upon our arrival (sadly we missed meeting Ron, as he was away, working). When we entered the cottage we found wild roses and an anniversary card with a beautiful note from Karen. That evening, we went for a rustic walk and enjoyed a delicious dinner by the ocean. Karen did a good job with explaining the terrain and guiding us through the path that led us to the ocean. With that being said, we enjoyed the walk but, it may not be for everyone — and Karen clearly communicated this to us. Karen’s communication was excellent. She was very quick to responding and provided lots of information in terms of weather, tide times, events in town (Yarmouth was a 25 min drive). Karen provided us with a delicious breakfast in the morning and ensured we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. It was a great first experience in a Tinyhome!

  • A beautiful charming and sparkling clean gem in a quiet neighborhood. Everything is brand new and tastefully decorated. The beds were ultra comfortable and the bathroom has a deep soaking tub to relax in! It’s a short drive to the water and there is a stoney road to walk along the beautiful coast. Along this nature trail is a quiet stargazing place to view the vast incredible sky....what a treat that was with no light pollution!! Back at the house, you can enjoy Netflix and high speed Internet!! All the comforts of life in a quiet laid back setting! This is an incredible value for the cost and a much less expensive alternative to the hotels in the area. Best value and Dog Friendly!! The owners are great communicators and will respond quickly to any questions. The welcome package of information is succinct and thorough and includes lots of suggestions for the area! If we are ever back in this area, I would love to stay longer. Thank you Megan and Simon

The LightKeepers Cottage is a unique property bordering the historic Cape Forchu Light house. Its last owner was a direct descendant from the original Lightkeeper James Fox. It is furnished with many interesting antiques, original paintings and prints. The cottage is situated on 3 acres of oceanfront, extending from the Yarmouth Harbour in front to the tumultuous False Harbour behind that lured many ships to an untimely end. The rooms are spacious and comfortable providing spectacular sea views.
The cottage is spacious at 2200sq ft with generous bedrooms and a 630 ft living room overlooking the Yarmouth Harbour.
The Light House is a right on your doorstep! and a great place for a daily stroll with many photo opportunities! There is also a wonderful small restaurant called the 'Keepers Kitchen' open 11;00am to 7pm seasonally at the lighthouse. Yarmouth Walking Tours offers guided tours that captivate and inform. Perfect for visitors or locals, you'll hear stories that won't be told anywhere else! Be sure to visit Yarmouth and Acadian Shores Tourism Association for lots of great local attractions and experiences.
  • Photos and description do not do this place justice. Rain or shine it is absolutely stunning and the drive out there from Yarmouth does not get old. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Auberge Yellow Tuna has 2 luxury bedroom suites (King & Queen), and is open year round. It is 15 min. from the Yarmouth CAT Ferry Terminal, close to Wedgeport Tuna Wharf & Tuna Sports Fishing Museum, Breakwater Wharf where Tusket Island Tours set sail to our magnificent Tusket Islands (fishing trips & charters are also available), Wedgeport Nature Trail along the shore (5,4 km) with Starlight viewing platform in North America’s only certified UNESCO-Starlight Tourist Destination.
Located in Wedgeport, SW Nova Scotia, with 1 private Queen suite & 1 private King suite, and shared living spaces with propane fireplace, heat pump & spa amenities (outdoor jacuzzi, barrel sauna included in whole house rental ) & large deck overlooking peaceful Chebeck Bay. Complimentary wireless Internet, cable TV, local telephone, and on-site parking also included. Full use of kitchen with entire house rental (kitchen must be left clean upon departure, or we can accept an optional cleaning deposit).
  • Enjoyed the amenities and views which were a nice touch after a long day sightseeing

  • Gorgeous, bright, clean space. High end and so comfortable inside and out.

    Katherine2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely nice house with direct view to the river, which is connected with the ocean. Sunny terasse with birds singing outside. The house itself has a lot of character and is extremely nice decorated - all new and clean.

    Oliver2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exceptionally clean. It accompanied 4 people perfectly. The hot tube was clean and perfect for an evening of relaxation. The attention to details, cleanliness, and decor of the house is what makes Esther a super super host. She gave us amazing recommendations on activities in the area, and great local restaurants. I will definitely be coming back in the future. This place is worth the trip to Wedgeport.

    Sarah2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Esther’s place was really lovely! Nice bright, super clean house. Amenities were great, hot tub and sauna outside with a breath taking view. Esther was great with providing us with many local activities to do. We did the Tusket Island Fishing Charter (would highly recommend). Only stayed one night, wish we had more. Will have to come back!

    Krista2019-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at the Yellow Tuna house. The house itself is beyond beautiful and Esther has thought of everything! Fully equipped kitchen, we cooked a few meals without any trouble. We loved the view of the tide coming in and out. We also loved relaxing in the sauna and hot tub (these will be wonderful and private once the hedges grow in, but the road is not too busy so it was not a problem for us). For a private stay we’d suggest booking the whole house not just half. Hope to return and we highly recommend!

    Tara2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We really can’t say enough good things about this beautiful retreat in Wedgeport - the pictures don’t even do it justice! Esther was an amazing host, she met us when we arrived and walked us through the house & it’s amenities and then the local attractions and things to do. My boyfriend and I were looking for a relaxing getaway and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked through the door. The house is beautiful, the perfect mix between modern and rustic. We spent the evening drinking wine in the hot tub and then drying off in the Sauna. We have already recommended this stay to numerous other couples and will be back ourselves for sure. Thanks again for an amazing evening!

    Sasha2019-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • My fiancé and I are from the community of Wedgeport, but wanted a night out without the need to pack an overnight bag. Since Esther was so quick at responding to our booking request, we were able to book the property only a few hours before check-in. Esther met us at the property and took us throughout, explaining how to use the amenities within, such as the heat pump, fireplace, etc. She even braved the heavy rain and wind to explain how to use both the sauna and hot tub. This property is SPOTLESS, and LUXURIOUS! No fine detail has been over-looked! From the hotel-quality bedding and towels, to the complimentary coffee bar, it's evident that Esther hand picked everything with her future renters in mind. Thanks for the great stay!

Bright and sunny home with harbour view is ready for you. This house is off the beaten (tourist) track - come experience what life is like in this small and friendly fishing community. Shop for your groceries at the local co-op and find fresh seafood for a fraction of what you pay outside of the community. Beach comb for drift wood and sea glass from nearby shore roads or take gorgeous photos of the pink sunsets.
Full use of the one story home for you and your family or friends. Great for children and babies as there are no stairs to worry about. All beds are brand new as of October 2019. All the kitchen tools necessary to enjoy cooking up the local offerings. I'm happy to provide you with more details on locals to contact for seafood fresh from the boats or pounds (lobster, haddock, scallops, halibut, mackerel, herring, etc. if in season).
This house is located on the border of two historic communities - one with Acadian descendants and the other with Irish / English / Scottish. It's a prime location for history buffs or cultural-experience seekers. There are restaurants within 20 - 30 minute drives with award winning menus or tried and true local favourites. A fascinating historic village can be found across the harbour. Stop in for traditional Acadian lunches and desserts, and to experience how the community would have functioned 100 years ago. There are also boat tours and kayak rentals nearby.

There is a Farmers Market open on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. A wonderful coffeeshop and bistro for your enjoyment a couple blocks away. The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia a short distance as well as a wool shop, knitting and craft shop and many others to browse.
The house is on Alma St in the centre of town. You will find a very welcoming and cozy home. You will be welcomed by two resident Westies - Angus and Maggie. The 3 cozy bedrooms are on the second floor up a beautiful winding staircase from the foyer.
The neighbourhood is very quiet with lots of old trees and gardens to enjoy.

Newly constructed 2 bedroom ocean-front cottage with a 4 star Canada Select rating. Sit on the covered deck , relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset. This cottage is part of a duplex and is separated by a utility room where a washer and dryer is located (and can be used by guests of both cottages). We have 4 cottages in total on the property, check our other listings if this one is unavailable.
The cottage has an open-concept kitchen/dining/living area with ocean-views. The kitchen has a full sized fridge with ice machine, full size range oven, and microwave. The kitchen also has cooking essentials: from pots and pans to cutlery and plates. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a Queen size bed, ceiling fan, luggage rack, bedside lamp and alarm clock. We strive to keep this cottage scent-free and to minimize the use of harsh chemical products. Therefore, smoking is prohibited. We discourage using strong perfumes/cologne, etc.
Our cottage is between the villages of Pubnico and Glenwood in the Municipality of Argyle. We are also halfway between Barrington Passage and the town of Yarmouth (approx. 50 km either way)
  • Great little cottage on argyle sound. Close enough to the town and the walking paths down at the windmills. Check in was super easy and the place was very clean.

Delightful is what most say! Awesome! Sweet! A piece of heaven. Now just to be clear, they who say that are not looking for polished and technological modern stuff. This is off grid with solar lights, it’s in the dark sky preserve, but don’t panic you can use your cell phones, as there is a tower that reaches it. It’s less then 10 mins from tusket, where you will find an awesome general store with essentially everything you need. Cafe and brewery near by.
Check out the pictures they say it all. Please note there is no fridge but there are 3 coolers for your use.I have one of them with ice packs. If you want more ice I suggest picking it up at the gas station at exit 33. There is no hot water and the outhouse is a no flush primitive toilet.
This funky cabin is in Yarmouth county just 20 mins from the town. Tusket village is just under 10 mins with everything you need great little restaurants, Carl’s country store and liquor store, new micro brewery with great pizza and live music, cafe with Yarmouth’s best coffee.
  • Ginas Funky Cabin was so beautiful that we skipped the planned trip and instead spent the whole day at the lake. The equipment is simple, just as Gina has described, but both the cabin and the surroundings are wonderful. You can canoe, swim or just enjoy the day in the hammock or in the beautiful garden. We would come back anytime!

  • Very relaxing and beautiful place off the grid

  • Wow. If you need a quiet getaway to unwind and just soak in nature, then Gina’s is it. The location is phenomenal. Close to amenities but yet still somewhat secluded. The lake was amazing. Super clean, calm and warm. The dock was excellent, especially the chairs place on it. This place had a lot to offer. Chair swing, hammock, a deck that overlooked the water, canoe, kayak, paddle board. My dog also thought it was an oasis. With tons of space for him to sniff around it was the perfect spot for him. This is truly a spot to keep coming back to. Gina was prompt at answering questions and did check in a couple times via message. It was great.

  • The funky cabin was an awesome stop on our roadtrip. It had everything we needed and more, the view was amazing, the location was peaceful and quiet. With no light pollution around, it was the perfect spot to look at the stars from the deck. We highly recommend the funky cabin!

  • I'm certainly neither the first or last one to say that Gina's cabin is a little piece of heaven. The spot is great, with access to the lake and with the woods all around. Cabin is very well equipped with all the necessities you need, and also very nicely decorated. A lot of options to sit or lay in the sun or shade. Would definitely recommend staying there for a couple of nights if you need some quietness and time and space for yourself and your travel companions.

  • Gina's funky solar cabin was incredible!! Even more beautiful than the pictures in the ad. Lake is massive and she provided everything you could want to enjoy it. The cabin and the land are both absolutely gorgeous, fire pit was fantastic. Can't even describe all the details, have to go see for yourself!

Oceanfront, panoramic views of the Bay of Fundy and Yarmouth Harbor. Close to the famous Cape Forchu lighthouse. Charming, rustic one-level cottage with large kitchen and living area surrounded by windows. There are 3 steps leading to the front door which has an electronic lock. Private parking and private beautiful rocky beach on almost an acre of land. You can sit and watch the ocean and waves crash on the rocks below. This is a perfect place to relax while enjoying the view.
10 minutes from the wonderful town of Yarmouth with museums, restaurants and shopping. Convenient to ferry dock and waterfront areas with quaint shops to browse. The scenery will take your breath away.
The Cape Forchu Lightstation has a wonderful place to eat called The Keeper's Kitchen. John’s Cove and false harbor are nearby beautiful sandy beaches. There are several other beaches in the Yarmouth area. There is a lobster pound nearby and the lobster docks where the fishing boats come and go is a short walk. A picnic table is in the back along with 2 wooden chairs to relax and enjoy the views. One of my fellow Airbnb owners, on the cape, developed a wonderful website showcasing the area and things to do. Thecapecottage.ca.
  • Cathy’s place is situated in an ideal location. The ocean is literally in the backyard. After long days visiting yarmouth and nearby villages, we returned to the most amazing sunsets. The cottage was clean and beautifully (and comfortably) decorated. It was stocked with anything we could possibly need. Cathy was quick to respond to any questions we had. I would absolutely love to return to this property should I be so lucky to be in Nova Scotia again.

    Michelle2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have chosen a better location than Cathy's cozy cottage on the ocean. The view was absolutely stunning! Upon arriving the cottage was immaculate. The kitchen had everything we needed. Cathy was always available to answer questions promptly. The pictures looked beautiful but I didn't expect so feel so at home and comfortable when I arrived. My baby and I had the best sleep we have had in months. The cottage was very clean and cozy. We loved waking up every morning and having coffee on the rocks while watching the seals emerge from the water. The lighthouse is just down the street as well. We went down there a few times to walk around and take in the view. There is also a beautiful sandy beach just a bit down the road that is perfect if you have little ones. Would definitely highly recommend this place. We would love to come back again one day. Thank you Cathy for being an amazing host and for giving us the perfect getaway!

  • Our family absolutely loved the location. The views were amazing; sun rises, sun sets, low tides, and high tides, breathtaking!! The newly remodeled section was perfect. We had local family stop by for a visit and they asked "When are you going to buy this house?!". ;). If you are visiting Yarmouth, this is the place to stay, except of course when we are visiting Yarmouth because we will be staying here again!!

Located in the quaint fishing village of Charlesville, this property sits back on a hill overlooking beautiful Lobster Bay. The westerly view provides spectacular sunsets! Great central location between the town of Barrington, with many white sand beaches and West Pubnico's many amenities, including the Historic Acadian Village. Also, just a 35 minute drive to the town of Yarmouth. Equipped with a heat pump/AC, cable television, Wi-Fi and a landline. There is also access to the shoreline.
Everything you need to feel at home from bed linens, towels and dishes. Just bring your clothes & food!
This home is located in a beautiful, quiet village with many amenities nearby(10-20 minute drive) including banking, restaurants, supermarket, golf course, museums and beaches. Many wharves in the area to view the fishing boats. The scenery is definitely worth the 35 minute drive from Yarmouth and the CAT ferry.
  • The house is spotless, the location is key. The host was amazing leaving us to have our own privacy and very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back!

  • Jody is an incredible host, and was extremely accommodating when my volunteers and I were trying to find shelter for Hurricane Dorian. Her place was incredible, very cozy, and the perfect place to stay safe during the storm. I cannot even begin to describe how beautiful the house was, and, on top of that, we had an amazing view of the sunset through the bay window. If I ever need a place to stay on the mainland, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Jody’s again. Thanks again for everything!

    Lucinda2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough positive things about Jody's house. It was spotless. Had everything we needed including comfort. The view was absolutely amazing! We did some exploring in the Yarmouth direction as well as on Cape Sable Island and the house is in a great central location. Would definitely love to stay here again!

  • Everything we needed was available to us. The view and yard were outstanding! We felt right at home and loved our stay!

    Karla2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great home for a family. It has all the amenities of home! It’s good for a few nights stay and the host is lovely. Only thing we didn’t like was two of the three mattresses are a bit old and one was sagging so much on one side that only one person could sleep on the bed. I think with new mattresses this place would be perfect.

We are a true maritime experience, path to the cove, 300 feet to shoreline, swimming, local fishing, kayaking, bike trails and walking trails. You’ll love our place because of the views, quaint little fishing village and very friendly people. Loft is in historic building full of nautical antiques, used to be a museum/gallery. It's a great place for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and furry friends (pets). You have lots of privacy as it's the only apartment in the building.
It's a true maritime experience, lot's of historical nautical decor. Close to restaurants one within walking distance and another 8 minutes.
Small fishing village famous for our lobster, local wharf is accessible to explore. Restaurants close by and golf course close by. Great place to sea kayak, swim and explore the beaches.
  • Had a wonderful 3 night stay at the loft. Peaceful, quiet, and serene. Ginger and Allen were great hosts and sweet, genuine human beings. Would definitely stay again! Dave NYC and Wells ME

  • Great Location! Beautiful setting- lots to see. I wish I had more time! I would have liked to explore some of the islands by kayak! Spectacular sunset and as a photographer I found fantastic things to capture everywhere I looked. Great spot above the old museum- lovely view from wind and back deck. Ginger had everything I could want in terms of amenities and even breakfast things in the fridge! Thank you!

  • This quirky spot was perfect--and perfectly quiet. We could see the water from Ginger's place and a short walk took us to the shoreline. We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the deck. Ginger met us at the door, we had a delightful chat, she gave us dining and other tips, and then we discovered homemade rolls on the counter. What a nice touch! We loved it.

  • We were looking for a place to stay with our dog for a night, and we wanted a spot that was a little bit rural - it was absolutely perfect! Lobster Bay Loft was very quiet and peaceful, and we loved that there was no TV and no WIFI! The loft had absolutely everything we needed, plus some unexpected goodies! We really felt taken care of and Ginger's hospitality is all that and more. We were so glad we got to meet you, Ginger, and our dog really loved you too :) As a same sex couple, we felt super-comfortable and welcomed. It never crossed my mind that we wouldn't be, but I thought it was important to comment on that for any others like us who were wondering. I wish we had planned our stay for longer. It would have been great to relax at the loft more, and to get out in the kayaks. Thanks Ginger!

  • Great hosts and charming place. Well appointed in a fun building on the water. Highly recommend!

  • If you want something away from the hustle and bustle of the city this is the place. Ginger met us and is so friendly and informative. The view from the deck is something you see in postcards and the room itself being above an old museum is really so unique. Loved it!

    Garry2018-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, unique setting, with a beautiful view of sunset. Great host and would stay there again. Ginger was available to offer suggestions on what to see and where to eat in the area
