  • We had a wonderful stay at John’s place right on Hood Canal. The ceilings were a bit low, but otherwise it’s a great space!

  • Beautiful place looking East across the Great Bend of Hood Canal. Woke up with a sensation of the ocean beneath my feet. Calming. Wonderful.

  • Lovely location and very relaxing home away from home

  • Great place, John was very quick to reply, we had a awesome time , will definitely be back

  • This house was a perfect gateway to Hood Canal! Everything was very cozy. The bedrooms were spacious and had lots of room for many more people than we brought. The kitchen was really big and well laid out — perfect for congregating and making big meals. John was a super helpful host and gave us lots of helpful local tips. Access to the shore with good oyster picking at low tide. We also got to use the row boat, which was a nice way to get on the water and visit the very boisterous sea lions bathing in the nearby docks. Would have been even better in the warm months!

    Mariah2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect destination for large groups to get together and enjoy the quite of the Shelton area. We will definitely be coming back to this location in the future. It's clean, quite, and is a home away from home. Perfectly fenced in for your pets, John is an amazing host, and his home is right on the water with an ample amount of parking for several cars!

    Brianna2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the house was outstanding!

    Clare2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for visiting the southeastern portion of the Olympics and the wonderful little town of Hoodsport! We enjoyed watching the sea lions and exploring the beach for clams. John was a wonderful host with some great recommendations for hikes and food in the area.

  • Had a lovely stay with Linda, the environment was super quiet, it was nice to be so close to hikes, dive spots, and groceries. The place itself was more spacious than I thought. The bedrooms were both spacious and comfortable. It was a really peaceful break from the Seattle effervescence!

    Maxime2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Linda guest house! It was the perfect place for us while exploring the area! The place had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. Definitely would recommend staying here if your looking to spend some time in the Hood Canal region.

    Tressa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what I expected based on other reviews—clean and comfortable, lovely apartment that served us well while visiting friends in the area. Linda and Mark are great, responsive hosts. Especially loved the water (from their well) and the book full of information for us :-) highly recommend!

    Jessica2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice private place with lots of space and ways to pass the time. Well taken care of, everything works well. It doesn't have a real kitchen, but enough to make simple things (microwave, hotplate, etc). Other than that, has all the amenities.

    Bennet2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Have now stayed here over 20 times. It remains our favorite place to stay on Hood Canal. Great for divers. See my previous reviews for more details.

    Jim2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our 20th stay at Linda’s place. Best deal on Hood Canal. Ideal for divers - close to Sund Rock and Octopus Hole- and hikers. Going back next week.

    Jim2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great value for a location that’s convenient to everything you’d want to do and see. Host is a true local expert on trails - actually literally wrote the book on the subject.

    Casey2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Another great stay at Linda’s place. Been here over a dozen times. Pictures and descriptions are accurate. This is the sweetest deal on Hood Canal.

  • Beautiful place! Would recommend to anyone for a peaceful getaway

    Caleb2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Rachel's waterfront cabin in Hoodsport was a great weekend getaway. The cabin was fully stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was the perfect way to start the morning and the sunrise view from the deck could not be beat. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a nice relaxing stay. Thanks Rachel!

    Elaine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel’s home was fantastic. Simple to find and an easy, hassle-free check-in and check-out process. The home is small and comfortable, with a great location right over the water. A wall-to-wall window gives a ton of natural light, and an awesome view. Everything was clean, with all the amenities you’ll need (including a hot tub). Would definitely stay again!

    Bronson2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great!

    Jonathan2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The absolute perfect get-away! Such a relaxing location, and only 15 minutes from the Olympic National Forest.

    Maya2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is very quick with responding to messages. She is also very informative great instructions for the house. Great quiet location. Amazing view of the water in the back! Jacuzzi was at a perfect location with incredible views of Hood canal. The cars passing by on the main road wasn’t much of a problem. Animals in the canal could be heard in the middle of the night but very fun and interesting. Thank you Rachel for having us!

    Gary2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • 5 stars all around! Wow. What a fantastic cabin! The kitchen is the perfect size and has all of the essentials. There is even a grill outside for grilling oysters! The bed in the room off of the livingroom is extremely comfortable and was perfect for a couple (size wise). The bathroom is small, but worked out perfectly. Again, had the essentials (including plenty of fresh towels--for bathing and the hot tub). All of the furniture is cute and functional. They even have a cabinet full of games/puzzles; and a bookshelf stocked with a variety of books. This place has everything you need: washer and dryer; dishwasher; stereo with blue tooth; TV with Direct TV and Amazon Fire TV . The outdoor space is fantastic! Our favorite part of the trip was soaking in the (immaculately clean) hot tub and gazing out at the beautiful day/sparkling stars. There is a outdoor dining set, lounge chairs, fire pit (with roasting sticks) and loveseat. The entire place was spotless and comfortable. Wall heaters worked perfectly and there is fan for hot days. The location could not be more ideal. Right on the beach--with a boat launch! 10 minutes away from Shelton/Oysterfest and 5 minutes away from downtown Hoodsport. We adored Hoodsport! Fantastic restaurants on the water, grocery store with a good selection, gas station, cozy coffee shop and distillery with (daily?) tastings. Rachel was very accommodating and extremely quick to respond. Checking in and out was fast and easy. Couldn't ask for a better host! We are very excited to come back to this beautiful cabin. Our new anniversary tradition :)

    Alessandra2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is practically perfect! Super kitschy 50's yet modern vibe. The hot tub is amazing as are the views. Close to Hoodsport for groceries or a few places to eat. Also a great location for day trips on the Canal. Plenty of towels, blankets and a very well-stocked kitchen. I hope to be back again.

Get ready to enjoy a glamping site that has a unique one-of-a-kind sleeping tent - a transparent bubble that allows you to see and fall asleep under the stars and wake watching the sun rise. I have everything you need here, so just pack your food, cooler, and clothes, and I will take care of the rest. I maintain as little footprint to our land as I can, but still give you a unique and enjoyable camping experience . UndertheStars//Bubble tent adventures (Facebook)
You will be sleeping on a premier air mattress from REI that will have an extra deep, quilted mattress pad and 650 thread count sheets to find comfort in after a long day of play, sun, and glamping. Solar candle lamps and a lantern are available for night play. Tiki torches can be lit at night, there is a hammock for lounging, and a circular reading/meditation nook. All guests receive a welcome basket from my organic vegetable and herb garden (season permitting) that you can enjoy and cook here or take home. There is a covered cooking and eating area with propane stove and BBQ smoker - charcoal and propane are provided. You will not be sharing your camping area with anyone else and will have .68 acres to yourself. The area is fenced as well. There is a outside shower and private hot tub . I would like to state that the shower/hot tub will allow you to wash off in hot water but not to use soaps or shampoos or shaving creams as we do take the water and use it on our garden helping us to remain eco-friendly. As well, we are also on the watershed and keeping our oceans clean is crucial. I do provide dry shampoo, as well as wipes in the bathroom and kitchen. We also have a very simple way to brush your teeth as well. I do your dishes for you so just load them in the storage bin and I take care of the rest. We are a glamorous camping spot and we will strive to give you the ultimate in that experience. If you have any questions or special requests, feel free to message. You can also pre-order local wine/spirits, local salmon, oysters, and I also can spend time showing you how to prepare these local eats and will also cook full meal if you need. Packages are under “ house manual” . I hold a servers card and food handlers card. No light Pollution
I live in a private beach community right off Hwy 101. I am 2 miles from Hoodsport grocery/shopping and 3 miles to the entrance of Lake Cushman. I am surrounded by many state parks, National Forest, watersports, and local attractions. You will not have beach access from your site but less than a minute both ways will put you on the Hood canal.
  • 10/10 - awesome location to get away from it all. The stars here are unreal, incredibly bright. I hadn't seen that many in ages. The dome itself is very cool and larger than I was expecting. Hoodsport is a fun, small town with great food and there is lots to explore with beaches, hikes, and overlooks with amazing views all around. Not a long drive from the city makes it for a great retreat. The lot itself is beautiful as well, it has a rejuvenating vibe and is very ecologically friendly and clean. It is private and surrounded by nature. Summer is a gem, she is enjoyable to talk with and is a wonderful host. She gave us a map and was available by phone when we needed directions. Would be a great place to bring friends, your family, or someone special.

    Taylor2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay! We felt very comfortable and safe. The location was great, too. We just loved every minute of our visit. Summer is an amazing host and goes above and beyond. Definitely recommend the bubble tent! Such a fun an romantic getaway!

    Heather2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Summer's Tent under the Stars is an absolute must to anyone traveling in the Olympia area and looking for an outdoor camping experience that's not quite "roughing" it. We had a beautiful night in the bubble tent with a clear sky full of magnificent stars. Summer was a true angel - we suspected it before we met her (just from how well she communicated before our arrival) and were blown away by her presence. We arrived at dusk and Summer had a bowl of fresh vegetables, a warm tent, and a steaming hot bath with fresh lavender sprigs awaiting us. We felt like we were on a mini retreat! We even chatted with her under the stars for a while, and it was truly one of the most magical experiences. Thank you so much Summer. See you again one day!

    Katherine2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was an interesting experience with a beautiful view of the sky. The host was super nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much!

    Dominik2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Summer was a fantastic host that worked exceptionally hard to ensure our stay was the best it could be. She was extremely welcoming and provided great information on everything in the area. It was a great glamping experience with beautiful views of the stars that I would recommend everyone try.

    Michael2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here..and were too happy. When I told Summer that it's my mum's birthday, she insisted on baking a cake for her. She was very warm and friendly. Her place is a unique experience. In the end we had a memorable experience and make a great friend.

    Karan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect little retreat ! Summer has really gone the extra mile to add small touches that really add to the space. The bubble tent was a fun, unique experience. The grill area is fully stocked with plates, utensils and seasonings so you don’t have to bring anything extra. The outdoor tub is such a cool feature, and is tucked away so it’s private. Will definitely go again.

    Caitlin 2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Extraordinary glamping experience we had, warm hospitality, neat touches and good tips in outdoor activities. Due to the cloud weather, we were not able to see full sky stars this time, we will be back.

  • The A frame in the woods was perfect! It was exactly as photographed, cozy, with great little touches of style and thoughtfulness. We cooked comfortably and loved the dimmer switch for the lights, and the fluffy blankets for sitting by the electric fire and chatting. We went out for a hike and exploring nearby, and managed to find our way back easily. Overall, would totally recommend for a little getaway to explore the PNW!

    Jenn2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very cozy abode that feels like home. Location was tranquil and surrounded by a lush forest. Even in the winter the place was well insulated and easy to keep warm. Host was very communicative with a fast response time. She let us know of a severe snow storm rolling in ahead of time and let us know that she would call for a snow plow if needed. She really went the extra mile to make sure that we were taken care of.

    Aaron2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage is tucked back on a forested lot that provides privacy while being surrounded by nature. It’s close to the local grocery store and within 10 minutes of local restaurants. Our contact Tabatha was quick to respond to any questions we had. The cottage itself is very cozy with a nice touch of modern decor. We’d definitely recommend staying here.

Platform Tent perched above Sund Rock on Hood Canal. The tent site offers electric lights, heat, small refrigerator, wifi, propane bbq, fire pit (providing a burn ban is not in effect). A short walk for glampers to a porta potty and hot water shower, as well as access to Sund Rock beach for kayaking, diving, swimming, snorkeling or just kicking back. The beach may be shared with registered day visiting scuba divers. The site is best for 2 people. The site is not appropriate for children.
The property was homesteaded prior to statehood by my great grandparents who actually established a resort in the early 1900's. Guests would arrive by steamer ship from Seattle and stay in platform tents. Now, re-creating the experience 100 years later is a tribute to my great-grandparents spirit and my desire to share this special place. Sund Rock has also become a destination scuba diving site due to the unique rock formation above and below the water that creates wonderful habitat for sea life. Beach access to Sund Rock dive beach may be shared with scuba divers who are allowed limited access by the Sund family. Guests are encouraged to bring their own beach towels, swim floats or kayaks to enhance the beach experience.
We are located approximately 2 miles north of Hoodsport. The small town offers a grocery store, post office, gift shops, a distillery and eateries.
  • This was such a fun place to stay, Eve though the weather wasn’t on our side for most of the weekend. The heater inside the tent kept us super cozy and the coffee was a very nice touch!

  • This is such a cute and cozy place. It feels secluded. The views of the water are amazing!

    Cami2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cindy's place was even more appealing than advertised with complete privacy and easy access to the beach for kayaking, boating and diving. We will be back!

  • What a wonderful little hidden secret! My bf and I took a “stay-cation” and decided we wanted to go camping. Staying here was a way better choice. Not only is this space absolutely amazing and so well thought out, the host was super nice and gracious. We definitely want to stay here again! Thanks so much Cindy and Sunds Family!

    Casey2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay and enjoy the Hood Canal.

    Ryan2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This special place provided such a beautiful, relaxing, fun and memorable weekend for us! It was our first experience with "glamping" and Cindy's camp at Sund Rock was truly the perfect introduction. The location itself is stunning and peaceful, the accommodations are adorable and cozy, lots of opportunities to trek out for little adventures or stay put and just soak up the sweetness of your little private getaway. And Cindy was a wonderfully attentive and respectful host, was sure to guide us to the camp when we arrived (and we arrived later than expected, which she was very gracious about), then after her introduction, some helpful tips on where things are and how they work, a bit of history on the spot and some insider knowledge on the best spots in and outside of town, she said she would leave us to our privacy but was still available via text or phone if we needed anything (wonderful communication). Love it, love it, love it... we'll be back. Thank you so much!

    Paul2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • All that is needed for this glamping trip is clothes and meals! Our host Cindy made sure we had everything we may need, and more! Down to the fresh raspberries and flowers to the whimsical lights ... our experience was relaxing and magical. The bed is comfortable and the view out of the door is stunning! We will definitely be back! Thank you Sunds family! 💜

    Justin2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was a good first Airbnb for us. The campsite had everything we needed, was comfortable and not too far away from things if we wanted to head into town. Cindy answered any questions quickly and showed us around then left us to enjoy our vacation. We would love to come back here.

  • My husband and I stayed for a couple of days with our 18 month old to getaway, relax, and celebrate a birthday and our anniversary. It was wonderful! The views from the house were even more breathtaking than I expected and the space was the perfect size and set up for our little family. It was incredibly clean and cozy. We definitely hope to go back soon!

    Kara2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This will be one of our more memorable Airbnb stays for a while because of the amazing views of the Olympics and being on the water. It was also very quiet for being so close to the road. We very much enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay again. The well kept garden was also a nice touch.

  • I’ve stayed in quite a few Air BnBs on Hood Canal over the years, and this one is outstanding! Great location with a panoramic view of the water, very stylish decor, and lots of extra thoughtful touches. Reserve it now, you’ll love it!!

  • Wow—Is the first word that comes to mind after visiting this property. The house is surrounded by water and even though it rained, the views are breathtaking. When I arrived, I felt instant peace. Kevin was such an accommodating and thoughtful host. The space was sparkly clean, and comfortable. We didn’t need for anything. The space is quiet, cozy, and private. I’m only upset that I didn’t book another night and find this gem sooner.

    Brittney2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place! Loved it!

    Autumn2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kevin’s house has instantly become one of our favorite Airbnb’s. The house was exceptionally clean and cozy. The view from the windows was serene and breathtaking. At low tide, the private beach appears and it is the most beautiful place to walk and take in the mountains and water. The house location felt very private, but very secure. It was a little slice of heaven that we now intend to come back to again and again!

    Jamie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great and I will definitely be back in the summer. Love the view, and the house has everything you need including a supersize recliner and fireplace that’s so cozy.

  • This is a super clean tiny home perfect for 2 people. Everything felt new. The kitchen is well stocked and is better than most VRBO’s or Airbnb’ s we have stayed in. It is well situated to explore the Lake Cushman area. The bed was comfortable but keep in mind that it is a double bed - not a queen. The decor is simple - mostly IKEA I think. Next time we are in the Lake Cushman area we will stay here again.

  • This tiny house is a perfect jumping off point for the Staircase area of Olympic National Park. It's tiny, comfortable, and has good hot water, great to come home to after a long day hike. Check in/check out was easy, the kitchen was well-appointed, the bed was super comfy, and we streamed Netflix straight to the tv with no trouble. Joseph was quick to respond but we had no trouble. Thank you!

Our “Hood Hideaway” has great views of the Hood Canal and Olympic mountains. You’ll love our cabin because of the outdoors space, waterfront and old growth trees. My place is good for families (with kids).
“Hood Hideaway” is a place to get away from it all. The cabin is nestled in the trees on an acre with stairs and short trail to your own private beach and 100 feet of Hood Canal Waterfront. We don't have TV, or internet by design. We get enough electronics in our everyday life, so we set the cabin up as a retreat from the bustle. It is a perfect spot to enjoy long walks on the beach, swimming in the summer, fishing, collecting shells and harvesting oysters. Even on rainy days we enjoy playing cards, board games, or cozying up with a good book.
You are in the woods (it's a cabin). The pristine nature is what drew us to this spot. We have only a couple neighbors but you can look north and walk along the beach for miles without seeing any development. It's perfect for someone who wants to get away from it all, right in the midst of old growth cedar trees, and spectacular views.
  • We had a lovely stay! The place was easy to find with Darren's directions, and well stocked with the little things in the kitchen we forgot or found we needed. I particularly enjoyed the oysters!

    Nicholas2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Surprisingly nice weather for February, but even if it had been raining the whole time we'd have been content to watch the rain from the large picture windows. Darren is easy to communicate with and the place is very clean and well equipped. The location is perfect for a refuge away from the bustle of city living.

    Colleen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in rainy night so it’s difficult to find the house. The view is amazing, the oysters was delicious.

    Tipmanee2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at this cabin. It was wonderful location— so peaceful and beautiful. We had such a great experience eating oysters straight from the property’s beach. The cabin stayed surprisingly warm with the little gas fireplace, and we had all the amenities we could have thought of! All we needed to do was bring our groceries. Darren was so helpful and responded very quickly. We loved our weekend here and hope to return!

    Kami2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • You want a secluded sleepaway camp moment with your homies? Stay at this cabin! The beachfront cabin is cozy and cheerful — soft sheets, an assortment of CDs so eclectic that there is totally something for everyone, board games, etc. The path down to the beach made me feel like the heroine of a Hayao Miyazaki film on an adventure to see a seagull that can grant me a wish. The only sound at night was the gentle lapping of water on the shore and a lone, very opinionated sea lion. It was the best girls weekend get away ever! Highlights: kayaking with no one else in sight, imagining the grumpy sea lion’s various grievances, the roaring fire from the stove, the driftwood crab art work in the family room, and the Tracy Chapman CD that did NOT have “Fast Car” on it! 10/10, would recommend.

    Megan2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a band retreat at Darren's house. It was the perfect setting for creativity and fun!

    Kelly2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Getting there in the dark was an adventure on its own, but waking up to the beautiful view of the water and eating a lot of yummy oysters were totally worth it. Having access to kayaks and being out on the water with no one else around was definitely a very nice bonus. The cabin was stocked with pretty much everything you need other than your own groceries, and Darren typically responds within 5 minutes! We had a very lovely stay being away from TVs and computers! High recommend :)

The cabana was spotless and had such thoughtful touches. I’d let Tammy know we were on our honeymoon and she left a sweet note, bottle of wine, and chocolates! There were also muffins, fresh fruit, coffee and water there waiting for us. This space had everything you could possibly need and was so comfortable. The outdoor shower was a fun touch as well! We loved our stay and if we’re ever back in the area we will be staying here again!

  • Tammy was a wonderful host! Quick communication, spotless location, and super cute touches such a hand written thank you note, muffins, fruit and water ready for us at check in. It was easy to get check in and out, great recommendations for nearby restaurants. This little Cabana by the Bay was the perfect weekend for some R&R, thanks Tammy!

Welcome to the LaFleur cabin. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate get-a-way where you can unplug, look no further. Our 410 sq. ft. cabin offers incredible views, our own oyster bed, a canoe, yoga mats, two vintage cruising bicycles, a coffee bar, and peace and quiet. We are not a match for motorized boats or jet skis. Our cabin is for kayakers, paddle-boarders, and bird/ wildlife watchers. It is for people who enjoy a peaceful retreat from the business & bustle of the city.
Our cabin is ideal for couples who want a comfortable, quiet, romantic get-a-way or friends who want the perfect place to catch up while relaxing. Our high end hotel quality California King size bed is incredible. You won't want to get up. Our cabin is ideal for a couple. Our cabin is a non smoking cabin and is very clean. We are foodies, so we have everything you need for cooking as well as condiments in the cupboards and refrigerator that are available for all to use. We don't offer Wi-Fi, but the cabin does have excellent cell service.
What I love most about our cabin is that it feels like you have literally stepped back in time. Everything slows down at the cabin. Most of the cabins are privately owned, so it's very quiet. To fully experience the cabin, you'll want to go for a canoe ride, take a nap, and take a hike up into the hills down past the park. We've recently added croquet to the list of optional recreational activities, and we just purchased 2 vintage cruiser bikes for the summer. I also have roasting sticks and all of the fixings needed for s'mores while enjoying the few fire pit. If you like oysters, you can eat them right out of the shell as long as we aren't experiencing a red tide. You can cook some over the grill or shuck them and put them in the muffin tin and cook them in olive oil, garlic, and bread crumbs oner the grill. Yum!
  • Susan is a lovely host and has paid attention to the tiniest details around the cozy cabin. The view and nature sounds were perfect for the weekend getaway we were craving. Would love to visit again!

  • Great bird watching from inside, while drinking coffee. Cute place. Very comfy bed. We kayaked from the house—-grilled oysters in the fire pit while watching cormorants, scoters, buffleheads, and seals—- very fun!

  • We can not wait to come back for another visit. The place is a perfect romantic getaway.

Please stay home. Do not travel to small underserved communities during this time. Our cabin will be closed until further notice due to Covid 19 Shelter in Place Order.
This cozy and comfortable space is a perfect choice for a quaint retreat. There is a queen sized standard bed. There is also a queen size air mattress available on request, it takes a bit of rearranging to set up so we like to know in advance if it will be needed. The space comfortably accommodates one or two adults, or a small family. For a short stay the space can be arranged to accommodate 4 adults who don't mind sharing a very cozy space. There is very basic cooking equipment, a grill/griddle combo, a small toaster-oven and an electric kettle. There is a small fridge and freezer as well. The sink in the bathroom is the only sink, it is right next to the kitchenette area and works nicely for washing dishes or basic water needs. Guests are responsible for washing their own dishes, this is included in the "House Rules". The water from the tap is very good. It comes from our private well and safe and tasty for drinking. This is a Cannabis friendly property. There is an electric baseboard heater for heat. There is also a wood stove which you can use if you choose to do so. Wood is not provided but available at the corner store (or any gas station) for around $5 a bundle. Please note, the bathroom is private and completely enclosed. However, there is a small cut out into the main part of the cabin high in the wall above the shower, this is for both ventilation and light.
This location is everything! Right across the street you will find many local amenities including a bank with 24hr ATM, post office and hair salon. Also across the street is the Union Deli, where you can enjoy coffee from Olympia roasting company Batdorf and Bronson along with a selection of spirits and menu items. Make a visit to the Union Country Store for gourmet sandwiches, salads, Prime Rib on Fridays and yummy breakfast on the weekends. The Union City market at the marina has a selection of local eats and goods to enhance your stay along with beautiful wares from local artisans. Cameo Boutique just down the street has a great selection of local and varied wines. In Union you can enjoy live music in various locations almost everyday of the week. Ask us before or during your stay where you might find some. Public water access is just two mins away. Twanoh state park is fifteen minutes drive down the scenic hwy 106. Potlatch Recreational Area is a fifteen minute drive north on the 101. Hoodsport, where you access Lake Cushman and the Olympic national forest, is just a twenty minute drive north. Alderbrook resort and spa is just two mins away. Yoga is available Monday and Wednesday evenings at Harmony Hill retreat center, three mins away.
  • Heather’s cabin is a great spot for the Union area. It’s convenient, cozy and a good value. I hope to stay again!

    Brighid2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and cozy cabin. Not as quite and secluded as I had expected, but not bad.

  • I really enjoyed the comfort of this cabin. It’s in a great location and has everything you need.

    Jane2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay, wood stove was a hit! Loved the live music Friday night at the Deli.

    Sara2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is really sweet and cozy and clean. It has cute vintage decor, but in a stylish way, it doesn't feel old. The bathroom seems brand new and has beautiful subway tile and fixtures. Union was cute but really tiny, so definitely buy your groceries before rolling into town if it's winter. We did not prepare, and thought we'd grab stuff at a market in town, but there was just the gas station and even basics were super expensive, and the firewood there was $8 a little bundle....so grab that before you come. We ate at Robin Hoods restaurant and listened to live music! The Marina had a cook out that we hope to come back to, and the gift shop there is really cute. The view of the Olympics from the Marina is stellar, and would love to eat there again. We drove around to Hoodsport, to go hike at Lake Cushman. If you drive all the way to the Staircase area down the Forest Road, you will see some amazing sites in the turquoise lake and old growth stumps, and find many hikes, but FYI dogs aren't allowed on the trails once you get into the National Forest. The wood stove in the cabin was lovely.

  • We stayed here for a night and it was absolutely wonderful. The house itself is a charming studio, perfect for a couple's getaway. Across the street is a perfect beach spot complete with lawn chairs and a table, where we viewed the nearly full moon rise, watched birds (even an eagle), and enjoyed a fire. Would love to stay again in this cozy place and recommend it to anyone looking for relaxing time away.

  • Kerry's place was modern and cozy. The layout is a large open studio ideal for one couple. The bed was a comfortable large memory foam mattress. The appliances and bathroom were modern and easy to use. And the entire space was immaculately clean. For a premium price, it is the perfect modern space for a cozy getaway.

    Rocky2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was well worth every penny we spent! Kerry was incredibly hospitable and offered a huge variety of great recommendations that made our trip both adventurous and restful. The space itself was perfect for two people, had everything we needed, was very clean and cozy. Highly recommended!

  • This little house was spacious for two people with a great view and was very modern in style. It was comfortable, clean, and we felt very much at ease there. We hope to come back in the summer with our kayaks. It will be great to be able to walk across the street and put them in the water, then return and walk right up to our place of stay.

This is the perfect place for two adults (no children) to get away from the city. Our off-the-grid cabin is perfect for a private, romantic weekend, a contemplative retreat or base camp for adventures around Hood Canal and the Olympic Peninsula. There are good restaurants nearby with dine in or take out service. Local activities include kayaking, fishing, hiking, and more. We are dog-friendly and have a large, fenced compound. YOUR DOG MUST BE PEOPLE AND DOG FRIENDLY, AND UNDER 25 - 30 POUNDS.
A perfect get-a-way for two adults (no children, sorry) in a small cottage with water and mountain views from the deck. This is a very small private space with everything you need to be comfortable, and is really only appropriate for two adults. But, we are pet friendly...small, under 25 pound dogs only, though (see George and Luna pictures)! Note that there is a concrete sidewalk and stepping pads on a slope that may be difficult for some guests (seniors and anyone with limited mobility). Fold out double bed, kitchenette, shower and flush toilet. However, be informed that because of the small space there is no sink in the bathroom; the sink in the kitchenette is adequate and has an extendable two sided mirror for shaving, make-up, etc. Great restaurants, hiking, kayaking and outdoor activities abound. BBQ, beach access and WiFi. There's a lot to do locally, but if rest and quiet relaxation are what you need, this is also the place. The cabin is separated from the main house, set in a corner of the property with views of the water and mountains. It is small and semi-private (we sometimes enjoy our patio outside that is about 50 feet away from the cabin deck). Enjoying the deck in front is very pleasant at any time of day. Enjoy your coffee in the morning or a libation in the afternoon. Access is from the parking area at the top of the property through our yard, past a small log play house, our vegetable garden and the main house. Hand built in the 1930's by my grandparents, the cottage reminds one of a "Hobbit" house (people six feet tall and up will have to watch not to bump their heads on entry and exit) and has been used by many guests, family and visitors over the years. It has been moved at least three times from it's original location. There is history here! It has been completely remodeled and is clean, comfortable and up-to-date in all respects. You will find all the conveniences of home in a cozy cottage. We have two very friendly dogs on the property, and we do accommodate well behaved dogs. Our 16 year old West Highland White Terrier, George, and my sister's 3 year old Flat Coat Retriever, Luna (see photos) will greet you warmly. They are both very friendly, may bark, but will not bite. If they pester you too much (they love new company) feel free to shoo them away or tell them to go home. You have free Guest WiFi with no password. A $25 cleaning fee and 10.5% sales and lodging tax is included in the nightly rate.
Hood Canal is a rural, resort area with a wide variety of housing. Water sports, fishing, crabbing and shrimping dominate the summer months with hunting, fishing and mushrooming occupying fall through spring. A full service marina in Union has moorage and fuel. There are two fine restaurants and a deli within walking distance, a family run Mexican restaurant a mile away, and a convenience store with groceries and gasoline about a mile away, The Union Country Store across the street from the Mexican restaurant, Union City Market and a few small shops, boutiques and antique stores complete the venue. Shelton is only 20 minutes away and has all the necessary shopping (Fred Meyer, Safeway, Walmart, etc.). We have a small oyster farm on our beach and would love to provide a tour if time and tides allow. We may permit you to harvest a few oysters if the area is open and the oysters are healthy. Please check with us before you arrive if you are interested. Fishing is possible, but is catch and release only except for hatchery salmon. A recreational license is required for fishing and harvesting oysters (URL HIDDEN) Minimum oyster size is 2½" measured across longest distance of shell and they must be shucked on the beach. It is one hour to Olympic National Park or the ferry to Seattle. Two hours to the Pacific Ocean. Sunset views. Great golf courses nearby. Visit the websites for masoncountytourism, visitkitsap and experiencewa for information on our area. Use this property as a starting point to visit the Olympic Peninsula and Greater Pacific Northwest.
  • This little cabin is ultra cozy and welcoming. Luna, the resident dog will be overjoyed to meet you. The views are breathtaking. Daniel is a very accommodating and caring host. The cabin can get chilly during colder weather but there are several space heaters to help combat that. The bed sinks a little, so I can imagine it being a bit more challenging for two people to sleep if one of them is a 'mover'. All-in-all, great place and I'd stay here again!

    Larissa2019-10-27T00:00:00Z

Located on 12 acre family retreat of quiet, private, no-bank waterfront with spectacular views of Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains. This cozy beach house offers a classic NW beach experience just 90 minutes from Seattle. We recommend spending the day in the sun and water, enjoying dinner and having a beach fire at sunset. In the winter, light the fireplace, get cozy and gaze at the snow covered Olympics.
The beach house is located just feet from the water but is also surrounded by woods for maximum privacy.
  • Idyllic and tranquil, nothing beats the view or the vibe. Bring plenty of firewood for cozy fires.

  • Fantastic experience in Hood Canal! Adorable cabin right on the water with amazing views and amenities. We stayed in the winter and enjoyed the views, walks along the shoreline, and the amazing fireplace in the cabin. Kitchen is well stocked with amenities to easily cook your own meals. Pull out sofa/futon is very comfortable for extra guests, and all linens and bedding provided are very comfortable. Dog friendly as well - thank you!

  • Amazing views and isolated. Very relaxing stay.

  • I can't communicate any better than anyone else has about how delightful our stay was. We felt like it was our slice of heaven for the weekend. Seals playing and fishing all day, perfect fireplace set up with the canal and mountain views right out the huge windows. Our dogs loved the beach, and the available kayak made for a great afternoon on the water.

    Sean2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, private location. We loved watching the seals feed and harass the seagulls right off the porch.

Peaceful mountain getaway just 2 hours from Seattle and surrounded by outdoorsy activities. Views are from the main house only. Deck and yard space which is shared with us. PLEASE NOTE: views are from the main house and shared yard space. They are not directly from RV.
    Quiet, secluded community.
  • The RV was clean, quiet and cozy, providing everything we needed for a couple of days of beautiful hiking around Lake Cushman. Bob and Yolanda were wonderful hosts! Would stay here again!

  • This is a great home base if you are visiting lake cushman area. Close to the lake and a short drive into town. Very cozy and clean.

  • Perfect location, host, and cleanliness.

  • This place is so wonderful to get away. It was quite cozy and relaxing, so enjoyed the silence! Suggest for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing place to get away to.

  • Had a great stay at the RV. It’s close to town but feels somewhat secluded. If you’re looking for an RV in the woods and surrounded by nature, this wouldn’t be my first recommendation since you’re next to the neighbors house and bordering the main house. The view from the shared porch was amazing and the RV overall was a great experience. I’d definitely stay again if I’m ever in the area.

    Abby2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a cozy little space! It was exactly what we needed for a weekend away from home to do some hiking and exploring. The RV has everything you need to cook and the bed is super comfy!

    Toni2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean camper in a very quiet neighborhood in the forest. The host provides everything you'd need in the camper for a lake visit....just bring food. The camper was clean and in good shape. We found it to be way nicer than a campground because it's completely dark at night, super quiet and private. We are too used to the finer things in life to do tent camping anymore and need a real bed, sink and bathroom--this fit the bill.

    Krystal2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and the camper is super cool. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Steve and Ahn's guest suite was the perfect location from which we explored Lake Cushman/Hoodsport and hiked in Olympic National Forest. The suite was warm and cozy, they included a selection of movies, books, and board games. We were truly able to unplug for an evening. Steve provided a great recommendation for dinner at The Tides - we liked it so much that we went back the next day for an excellent breakfast. The suite was very comfortable and quiet. We have already started highly recommending this place to our friends for when they explore this area of Washington :)

  • This place was perfect for me after a long day of scuba diving. It was nice and cozy and great for relaxing. Steve is very nice and I would love to stay again the next time I'm in town.

  • We only stayed for one night but it was perfect for our needs. It was cozy, clean and warm. Steve and Ahn were accommodating and helpful. Thank you again.

  • Very cozy and cute little place that is just perfect for 2! Beautiful surrounding area. Steve was a great and very accomodating host! Good things to know: the little kitchenette is very basic, but perfect for a cup of coffee or tea and snacks, but no warm meals and no dishes or silverware, just so you are aware. There is no wifi (as mentioned in the ad) and service can be a bit limited out there, just so you know. Would stay here again and would recommend 100%!

  • The view from the living room and master bedroom is incredible. The house is very spacious and we enjoyed using the fire stove. The TV in the living room was great for watching movies at night. The place was close to our hike, Staircase Rapids. We really enjoyed the town of Hoodsports. My friends and I very much enjoyed our time here. It felt cozy and it was great to be surrounded by nature.
