Kirstie Allsopp's Best of Both worlds programme on Channel 4 featured this romantic getaway for two.
There is something about this thatched cottage that brings out the romance. We have hosted many honeymooners, couples that become engaged while here, and anniversary trips. It is simply lovely and cosy in an architecturally unique building near to the Welsh coast. Our situation provides guests with an excellent base to explore the many local attractions and the Coastal Path. By staying at Ffynnon Oer Isaf you will avoid the tourist crowds while being able to dip into the beach villages (or the water) as you please. Ffynnon Oer is ideally located. We are located on a good road so guests can easily hop in their car for a quick explore. Our guests enjoy the fact that Ffynnon Oer is a “hot spot” (compared to other holiday locations). We offer reliable internet with wi-fi so you can sit on the sofa and plan your next adventure. Most guests receive a decent mobile signal. No worries about having to roam around in a field or hilltop trying to get a signal! On top of all its practical advantages, the cottage itself will be one of the highlights of your trip. Ffynnon Oer Isaf is one of the best surviving examples of an eighteenth century clom cottages in Wales. It is Grade II listed in recognition of its “outstanding architectural interest. “ The cottage was built around 1750, and although there have been alterations, the interior arrangement and many details are original to that time. The “crogloffts” are traditional sleeping platforms that were once common in West Wales, as were wickerwork chimneys such as the one seen here. Apart from doing repair work, no one has built in clom in this area for well over a century. The walls are protected with a traditional limewash and the oak crucks and roof structure are all original and untouched since the eighteenth century. Our gardens are lovely any time of the year. Even in winter, there are over 20 different varieties of snowdrops. The front of the house is planted with a rose and herb garden. Please cut the roses and herbs for your enjoyment. We are dog friendly; however, our garden is not fully enclosed. Canine visitors adore the coastal path or exploring the countryside. Bath towels, bed linens, and bathroom welcome pack are included. The house is situated in a small hamlet of houses. We are near to the beaches of ceredigion, Aberaeron (15 minutes), Llangranog (30 minutes) Lampeter, the Llanerchaeron estate, Aberystwyth (35 minutes) and lovely dining at Ty Mawr Mansion which has been awarded five stars from VisitWales. Paragliding and walking is popular in the area. This property is co-located with another property that sleeps six. Both can be booked at the same time for a large party of eight. Please visit our blog for more photos, latest news and things to do in the area. Airbnb will not allow the posting of a URL. You can find our blog by searching for "Tales from Wales" and the words "spring water cottages" or add my name, "Melise."
Everyone loves the drama of the Welsh coast. The peaceful view of sheep across the meadow and our lovely gardens. View our blog for lots of ideas on what to do and where to eat: search for 'springwater cottages" plus my name, "Melise" to find the blog. Please note: the house name is Ffynnon Oer Isaf. There is a gate at the front that says Ffynnon Oer in the grille work.
  • Our stay at Melise’s place was perfect. Beautiful, quirky little cottage which made our weekend away really interesting. Great cleanliness and a bath in the lovely tub was just what we needed after a wet, windy day before curling up in front of the fire! Thanks for being great hosts - the local information.l was brilliant. Can imagine how beautiful it would be in the Summer with the garden in bloom

  • Thanks for a great stay in your amazing thatched cottage. Very snug, warm and comfortable. We spent happy evenings reading by the log stove, and easily managed to avoid turning on the tv/dvd! Hope to maybe visit again- the coastal walks are excellent.

  • As beautifully quaint and charming as it seems. It’s like living in a Wendy house for adults. A perfect place to escape real life.

    Lauren2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely beautiful remote cottage - we had a lovely long weekend here. Dorian was a brilliant host, great communication from the day we booked and one of the lunch recommendations (the Nags Head Pub) in his welcome pack was spot on! Thank you :)

    Laura2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Welsh house if absolutely divine. Set in the most captivating surroundings this stunning house (and wonderful hot tub!) offers true escapism. The log burner was perfect for the winter weather - we were mostly found sat next to it readying books and playing games. No problem with mobile signal - and wonderful not having WiFi! Would absolutely recommend.

Ty Twt - neat and cosy - is part of Wildernest, a haven set in the coastal hills above the delightful Aeron Valley. Sleeping is in the croglofft, above the kitchen-diner, with 2nd bedroom and shower room on ground; underfloor heating and log burner. It can sleep 4 but we say 3 people comfortably. Hence, there's no charge for a fourth person. If you need the second bed to be made up please enter 3 (or 4) guests.
Ty Twt is part of the old stone range in the former store house. Adjacent is Cuddfan and the Long Barn.
There are two special aspects to the landscape here - the Cambrian mountains and the Cardigan coast - making this a real green and wild destination. The Cardigan coast is notched with a chain of secluded coves with nestling villages. It is one of the best spots to see sea life with regular sightings of dolphins, porpoises, and seals. Seabirds perform from nests on the cliffs and it is one of the few places to see the masterful aerobatics of choughs. Cwm Silio is one the best-kept secrets; this beautifully secluded cove lies down a path from the back of a graveyard, through temperate rain forest, past waterfalls, across streams and butterfly- strewn slopes. There's not an artefact in sight. Further on, Castell Bach iron-age fort remains with the incredibly folded rock formations
  • Absolutely stunning! Very welcoming on arrival. Beautiful scenery, calm atmosphere. Inside was spotless and very cosy. Would definitely stay again!

    Joseph2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really had a great time in this lovely cottage and would definetely recommend it to everyone. Hugh and Jude are the best hosts you could wish for. We would like to come back here one day!

    Adrienne2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely escape in a nice peaceful location. We were expecting it to be really cold in the middle of February, but the barn has under floor heating and was really toasty all of the time, and the log fire was a treat in the evenings. We took our almost 2 year old, and he loved waking up to the chickens and Jimi the dog. The lack of TV is really refreshing, and we played games and had some good quality family time instead.

    Stephanie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ty Twt: Stylish, well appointed and quiet bolt hole. Recommended. I needed somewhere quiet to do some work for a few days in Feb. Ty Twt was perfect. The wifi was excellent, facilities were all good and the communication and hospitality was just what I was after. Hugh was around to help when needed, but not intrusive at all.

    Dominic2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Superb stylish accommodation. Hugh and his wife were very welcoming; we had two young children with us (3 and 1) and had no problems. They loved hanging out in the communal room before their tea on an evening and the chickens and dog coming to our door in the morning. We loved the feel of the place, exploring the local area (although many attractions were closed due to it been January) but still had a great time and some lovely walks. Also loved returning back to the accommodation, cooking at a feast and getting cosy in front of the log burner with a glass of wine. Would highly recommend.

    Simon2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This really is a welcome retreat. Very cosy with underfloor heating and a wood burner if you like a fire. We did! Hugh and Jude are so friendly and are clearly passionate about the estate. You can sit at the window and get up close with many different species of woodland birds, whilst reading a good book or easily go out and explore the amazing Ceredigion landscape.

    Charlotte2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb is wonderful so cosy with a wood burner. Very comfy bed and everything you need for a few days away. I would highly recommend!

Brynifor is set alongside a bridal path and very close to the River Teifi. It is also within walking distance to the local village community run shop in Capel Dewi if you need to pick up a few supplies, where there is a working Woolen Mill and pretty church. Our location is an ideal base for exploring south, west and mid Wales. Brynifor is within half an hour's drive from the Cardigan Bay coastline with its sandy beaches and spectacular scenery and is also one of the best places in the UK to see dolphins, seals and porpoises. Boat trips are available from Newquay to get an even closer look! Besides the coastline there are numerous things to do. You can canoe along the Teifi River through Cilgerran Gorge – the home of otters and kingfishers. Or visit an Iron Age settlement (featured on a BBC Production) Castell Henllys. There’s horse riding on Llanllwni mountain, fishing, Oakwood theme park, Go Karts, Folly Farm, a butterfly farm, steam railways, Castles and Museums – the list is endless! And for anyone just wanting some quiet relaxing time there are starry night skies, Cludeo, jigsaws, and quite a few books.
  • A great stop over at Jackie’s place and somewhere I’d happily return, very quiet and cosy. Thanks again

    Justine2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely weekend away. We were unlucky with the weather this weekend however it was very cosy in the cottage.

  • Perfect. We loved our stay. The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Very cosy, clean and toasty warm with the wood burner. We loved it and will definitely visit again. Highly recommend.

  • Such a cosy, quiet, peaceful place for a relaxing retreat. We spent a lovely couple of days exploring the coasts and forests by day, and snuggling up by the log fire in the evenings. Jackie and Dave were very attentive hosts, offering plenty of helpful tips and answering our questions quickly and efficiently. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Jackie in her pottery studio learning to throw, which was a fantastic bonus.

    Sophie2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful, cosy cottage in a stunning location.

An idyllic meat-free country retreat providing peace & tranquillity in an unspoilt part of Wales. Ideal for a romantic break & children love it too. This 18th century thatched cottage is beautifully restored - quiet beaches, castles & wilderness are all nearby. Relax in the luxurious hot tub & count the stars / sheep! READ REVIEWS & SEE PICS! *This cottage is meat-free, embrace the challenge & try one of my tasty vegan meals, delivered to your door!
This is an amazing place to unwind, be creative and enjoy the silence and the stars. Hidden down a long track yet only 10 mins from shops, you’ll feel like you’re in another world. Restored with original materials and methods from a ruin and considered by many to be the best restoration in Wales. Almost everything is sourced from the valley - the oak beams, hazel in the wattle and daub walls and even the wool in the curtains all came from the hillside. Even the water comes from a spring and tastes beautiful. Inside, the cottage is much bigger than it looks in pictures and is full of antiques and nice touches. The kitchen is very well equipped (NutriBullet etc) the cast-iron bath holds two with a view of the sunset and the fireplace will keep you warm no matter what the weather! In winter this is boosted by a new underfloor heating system. It’s ideal for a romantic couple but also works well for families and small groups - actually waking up on the sofa bed near the stove is rather special! Outside the new south-facing hot tub and picnic area has an amazing view of the mountains - you can see the Preseli Mountains 40 miles away in Pembrokeshire! There is also acres of beautiful garden, a dedicated bonfire area if you want one and a stream that runs just behind the cottage. Red kites and buzzards swirl over you constantly. It’s the sort of place that seems to bring out the best in people, if you’re coming a long way then I recommend at least three days to really relax and appreciate it. I have tons of good tips for good things to see from castles to beaches and wildlife. For reasonable extra costs I can also offer really good vegan meals direct to your door, early / late checkout and I’ll accept well behaved dogs too. You’ve never been anywhere like it.
The charming town of Lampeter is 4 miles away and has all the provisions (and pubs!) you might need during your stay. We will provide a basket of logs for the wood burner and you may purchase further wood as required. If you like mountain biking, there are several trails Abergorlech and the surrounding area. The coast is not far by car, you can get to the town of Aberaeron in about 30 minutes, there are many beautiful beaches along the Cardigan coast which are easy to reach by car. The Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire are both an hour away.
  • The fact that it’s taken a week to write a review because life has been so busy since we got home shows how much we needed the break. Robin’s place is lovely. We are more often to be found in a tent trekking up a mountain or similar so when we decide to stay in a building we know exactly what we are looking for and this ticked all the boxes. Robin was really helpful throughout (even when we kept him up for ages due to late arrival) we followed his suggestions for some coastal walking and I’m glad we did, a wonderful day on the coast. If you don’t mind a bit of a drive you can get to the Brecon Beacons easily too, so the place is well situated for lots of things BUT you get to come home and enjoy the lack of people (we are from London, it’s needed sometimes). Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, and the living room with the fire made for nice relaxed evenings. I finally finished some knitting I’ve been working on for ages- and I was intrigued and envious of the gorgeous embroidery on the wall. I really enjoyed the lack of a TV, there are things called books and board games. I won at scrabble. The views are lovely, definitely recommend a coffee outside, in the hot tub if you like. Plus sheep. We both have family in Wales and have visited different areas before so it was nice to discover somewhere neither of us had been. Properly relaxed by the end of it- Garmin even put my resting heart rate down a fair bit. Cooking meat free was great too, I’m a former veggie myself living with a man who really isn’t, but this time away convinced him that meat free is good, he’s even suggested we trial no meat Monday to Friday. I’ve been suggesting this for the last 2 years so thanks Robin!

  • The stay in Robin’s Realm was just what we needed, Robin was a superb host. If you like food - I’d recommend taking Robin up on his awesome food (for which he battled storm Ciara to get to us!). The location is spot on, amazing log fire and mezzanine bedroom was great fun. You won’t regret it. Check out Robin’s food on Instagram or Facebook beforehand https://www.instagram.com/robinsrealmuk/

    Matt2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a secluded retreat from a busy lifestyle. Robin couldn’t have done more for us. He’s clearly put his heart and soul into the place and it really shows.

    Lily2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a magical time at Robin’s cottage! It was everything we had hoped for and more! The food was especially exquisite! Highly recommend!

    Vanessa2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the pleasure of staying at the cottage over Christmas. It was truly magical and felt like going back in time. The experience was quite rustic in many ways, and quite a unique opportunity (in a very awesome way)! The cottage itself has clearly been restored with great love and attention to detail. We would have liked to talk more with Robin, as he clearly has an abundance of expertise about the property and the area in general. We followed some of his recommendations of things to do and places to eat/drink and were thoroughly impressed. It’s really a great location with tons to do in the immediate vicinity, with easy, beautiful drives to lots of other cool places. We highly recommend staying here, especially if you are interested in a sort of old-timey experience! If you visit in the winter, be sure to pack some warm socks or slippers, but otherwise the wood burning stove keeps the main living/sleeping area nice and warm, and very cozy to be sure. It would be hard to find a cozier, more festive spot to spend the Christmas holidays! We would love to go back and visit in the summer, too, although even in the dead of winter, Wales is still so beautiful, green and charming! Robin’s home-cooked meals were also quite delicious and healthy! To sum it up, we had a wonderful time here and the best Christmas in years, and recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a true Welsh getaway.

    McKenna2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Throughly enjoyed our weekend away, off the grid at robins realm, when you see the pictures you know what to expect and we were not disappointed! The hot tub followed by log fire, whats not to like! Robin was an amazing host who prepared us a lovely meal for our first evening! Could not of asked for more! If you are considering this cottage, do not hesitate to get it booked!

    Ben2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted a remote cosy escape to slow down, appreciate nature and read some books in peace. Robins realm was the perfect place for this. The 250 year old cottage has been renovated with love with an authentic feel. Robin made us feel incredibly welcome and went out of his way to research food I could eat on my medical diet. The food he provided was delicious. We took our two dogs and enjoyed stunning, autumnal forest walks with many hidden waterfalls near by. The local pub was run by the kindest landlady and the locals made us very welcome. They even supplied us with tea and chips whilst watching the rugby.

A double room in my comfortable, arty home. Cosy, light, cheerful and homely. House has views over the Teifi valley; close to Canoe club & all amenities; twenty-five minute drive to Heritage coast beaches; great for walkers, cyclists, & nature lovers. Free tea and coffee. Breakfast on request for small additional fee. Other single/double rooms also available on request for an extra fee. Shared kitchen, bathroom and sitting room with log fire. Lovely garden with sun deck and fire-pit. Free WiFi.
Mine is an interesting house which was originally a small school founded and run by Thomas's great uncle, William Marles. The house is large and airy, with newly decorated sitting room. Bay windows look out, over the garden, across the valley to the river Teifi, though you would never guess this from the street. The kitchen is large and has all amenities. The garden is private, sunny and bursting with life. There is a fire-pit for night time stargazing on the deck.
Llandysul is traditional small Welsh town, with a selection of shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways. It is well placed as a base for fabulous local walks and for exploring the beautiful Teifi Valley and the Heritage Coast with its many excellent beaches. As well as exciting activities such as canoeing (Llandysul Paddlers) and coasteering, there is plenty of rolling countryside to discover on foot or on wheels. There is a cycle network easily accessed from Llandysul and the Brechfa forest cycle trail is not far away. There is a Leisure centre with gym and sports hall and swimming pool just a short walk away.
  • Biddy was a very professional and welcoming host, communication was very good and we felt supported when we needed some advice when planning trips in the countryside. The place was very nice, clean and provided a lot of privacy. This part of Wales is beautiful, we would love to come again.

  • Great place ! Much bigger than I originally thought. Will definitely stay again!

  • A cute little annex/flat with everything you need for a retreat away. Biddy's artwork gives the place a unique feel and a lot of thought has gone into the set up. You have your own little garden area in which Biddy allowed me to have a fire, even kindly providing me with the firepit! Shops are short walk away if supplies are needed, amazing walks on your doorstep (just walk to the top of the hill and down a track on the left to get to the river!). I didn't try out the canoeing but definitely will next time! A lovely stay and great value

Nestled in the heart of West Wales, surrounded by open countryside and with spectacular views of the Preseli Mountains, Comfort Cottage, a cosy, rural retreat, is your chance to get away from it all and enjoy a secluded holiday where you will be warmly welcomed by your hosts Joyce & Alan. Lovingly updated, this traditional single story stone cottage is fully equipped, ensuring you have a relaxing, nurturing setting for your holiday retreat.
Comfort Cottage is filled with a sense of peace and tranquility, with virtually no light pollution the night skies are awesome, as are the sunsets. Surrounded by open countryside, the cottage is nestled in a secluded, sheltered setting which offers stunning views of The Preseli Mountains. Circling red kites are daily visitors, along with buzzards and abundant wildlife. The pretty little market town of Newcastle Emlyn is just 5 miles away and has many unique shops, its own attic theatre and a good choice of places to eat. In the centre of the town are the castle ruins surrounded by a circular river walk. Situated midway between Cardigan and Carmarthen, makes it the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful coastlines of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
In our opinion, Comfort Cottage is in an idyllic setting, most people who visit find it so easy to relax and find time to just be, away from all the bustle of daily life. Also Joyce, a natural healer of many years experience, will be happy to offer healing sessions to anyone who may be interested during your stay. New for 2019 included in the cost of your holiday is guest membership for 2 people at Coracles Health & Country Club, where you can enjoy using the indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and fitness studio.
  • After corona virus prevented a trip to Tenerife, myself and two girl friends decided to make a back up plan. We switched things up and went to stay at Joyce and Alan’s place in Pembrokeshire, Wales. We were greeted on arrival and had everything we needed, including local tips and fresh eggs. The beds were comfortable and the facilities ideal for what we needed. And ideal location away from all the madness going on out in the real world. We loved getting to meet the animals, Django & Alfie! Such curious and wonderful animals. A special shout out to Muffin who insisted on saying hello to us each evening. Would highly recommend Comfort Cottage for a getaway away from society.

    Kirsty2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Joyce and Alun gave us a lovely warm welcome with some thoughtful touches on arrival. They are really friendly hosts. The cottage is sparkling clean and really cosy. They have a beautiful spot with birds and alpacas on their land. We had a wonderful but short stay.

    Jo2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely annexe 😊 location is lovely, tucked a way so lovely and peaceful. Most things within a 30-40 minute drive. Hosts were lovely.

    Lisa2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely welcome from Joyce and Alan. We found Comfort Cottage thanks to Joyce’s instructions. We had everything we needed and more at the cottage. Although I’m sure if there was anything that we needed Joyce would of helped. The animals are very quiet and the alpacas are very cute. The white one is very curious :) made me chuckle. The stars in the sky are very clear and if we had gone in the summer, I definitely would of sat outside star gazing. We went out exploring in the car and discovered Tenby, which is very picturesque and has everything. Also we visited Pembroke Castle and several light houses. I tried spiritual healing of which I had literally no experience of before. I would recommend it and am glad I gave it a go. I recently lost my father and have had trouble sleeping since, but I slept literally like a log at Comfort Cottage every night! I would definitely visit again!

  • Nothing short of an amazing place to stay... Myself being a travel agent with TUI spend my time looking for suitable places for our customers to stay.....this certainly exceeded my expections..... So good we stayed another day 😁 Joyce was SO hospitable and we had lovely visits from muffin the cutest little cross eyed cat I have EVER seen. My little boy tayne was besotted with her and could have easily brought her home if allowed.. We had geese outside the garden gate daily along with chickens, ducks and alpacas in the small holding opposite. My dad being 86 finds it hard to sleep but admitted he had the best sleep EVER. Joyce I will DEFINATELY be coming again.....hence the reason not turning around to collect my remote control.....be back very soon. Thanks so much both xxxxxxxx

  • We had a wonderful stay at Joyce’s place. She left us a lovely welcome basket with some home made treats and essentials on our arrival. The location is perfect, a lovely tranquil setting close to lots of amenities. The sunsets and sunrise were breathtaking. The cottage is so cosy, lovely and warm and has everything you need. The kitchen is fully equipped so we had no problem cooking meals. The beds were comfy and everything was really clean. Joyce was a wonderful host, so friendly and welcoming and full of local tips. We can’t wait to come back.

Visitors enjoy our stunning country views and the spacious garden. The room is light, modern and clean with a fantastic, ensuite with walk in shower. • Beautiful place! Very clean, check in couldn’t be easier, and absolutely loved the thoughtful additions of coffee, milk, tea, cute little welshcakes, shampoo, conditioner etc that were left in the room. • Meet the extra mile hosts! I think I run out of "feedback stars". They are the most welcome and generous hosts I have never met. Nothing is too much for them, they will look into all your needs to make sure you have a extraordinary and enjoyable stay at their place. This also included travelling with my house cat and making sure my cat was also comfortable and happy. Their place is allocated in a very beautiful natural setting yet, not too far from other towns to do any shopping or enjoy a coffe. It is a good place for exploring the West of Wales or choosing to stay and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of their location. Their property is very special shared with other beautiful and friendly 3 cats and few gentle and loving chickens. The house is lovely, modern and very tasfully decorated. It is also kept very tidy and clean with an eco friendly mind set. As well as your room, you have the sun room with the lovely views to their garden and amusing chickens if you feel you would like to relax having a cuppa by yourself. The Blue Room with beautiful views indeed, offered more that what I expected. Very spacious and very beautifully decorated. It has a TV and the bed is super comfortable

5 miles from the west coast of Wales with its lovely sandy beaches, Porth Fach is in the heart of Brongest village/hamlet surrounded by beautiful countryside. Formerly a barn, then post office, the property has been recently converted into a stylish and comfortable single story stone cottage.
The cottage was originally a barn. Many of the homes in the village are converted farm building as Brongest was and is a strong farming community. The cottage comprises of a kitchen, a toilet and separate shower room as well as the living and dining room area and bedroom. There is extra sleeping accommodation in the form of a sofa-bed (1.2m wide). The south facing private garden has a parking space to the side and the cottage has its own private entrance. We are dog lovers and welcome 1 well behaved dog, but please be aware that our hens have a run connected to the garden of the cottage.
We are perfectly positions to enjoy the beautiful Welsh countryside and there are delightful woodland walks on the doorstep. Quiet and activity beaches, dolphin watching and coastal path walking are all close by. The National Trust beach, Penbryn is our closest beach where you can also enjoy an ice cream or lunch at the Plwmp Tart beach cafe. Newcastle Emlyn is only 4 miles away and has a variety of shops and supermarkets as well as the castle ruins, theatre and leisure centre with swimming pool. We recommend the Riverside cafe for its excellent vegetarian and vegan menu. The lovely historic town of Aberteifi (Cardigan) is only 9 miles away.
  • Porth Fach is a outstanding property. Fantastic accommodation. Decor and attention to detail to our taste. Very comfortable and peaceful location. Excellent value for money. Wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend. A beautiful area with lots of fantastic coastline to visit nearby.

  • A beautiful little cottage! Everything you need and a few little extras we weren’t expecting (towels and a hair dryer). Easy check in and check out. Courteous hosts. Dog friendly too. Can’t fault it at all! Will recommend for sure.

  • A perfect place to relax and cosy up in front of the log burner with a good book :) The cottage exceeded our expectations, beautiful decor and very comfortable, Beccy and Adam had thought of everything. Quick drive to some beautiful beaches. Would love to make a return visit as we didn’t want to leave.

Newly renovated three bedroom bungalow with bright sunny aspect overlooking a river valley. Large lounge and sun room with squidgy sofas. Pine flooring throughout and radiant colours gives this home a fresh Scandinavian feel. The front garden is well-stocked with roses, and shrubs, plenty of room for adults and kids to play. The garden room and rear deck looks out over the Clettwr Valley with its spectacular sunsets – perfect to watch red kites and buzzards, whilst enjoying an evening drink.
When we decided to open Blodeuen as a holiday home, we made careful consideration to what we would like, and came up with an airy open-ness that maximises light and colour, with cosy comfort to relax in. We ourselves are very creative, and have imbued the home with colour that is creatively inspiring and stimulating whilst deeply restful to combat the mundane stresses of ordinary life. If you just want an energising rural Welsh holiday, or a creative or meditational retreat, you will love its simplicity. This home comprises; Walk in shower / wet room. Open plan kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, blender etc. Two bedrooms with kingsize beds and one with a double bed. We keep a toy/games/activity box, a good stock of DVDs , books and board games for all ages. Original artwork and paintings on the walls. There is no washing machine, but you are welcome to use ours next door. We’ve tried to keep it simple but if there is anything you need please ask. There is sufficient off-road parking for 3 or 4 cars. Our ethos is to reuse and recycle, we have recycling and composting facilities to reduce our waste, there are bird feeders in the garden and beehives in the field behind the property, we try to live with nature as much as possible and have planted many trees in the field. We ask you to respect our ethos whilst staying. We welcome feedback.
The coast is only 20 minutes away with stunning Ceredigion coastline, castles, rivers and hills. Pop up to New Quay to watch the dolphins, explore the beaches, climb hills or mountain bike in Brechfa. The Brecon beacons are only an hour away, Snowdonia only two hours and Pembrokeshire 45minutes. Also a super place to find antiques, you have next door a 17th Century antique shop, and many more antiques to be found at Newcastle Emlyn, Cardigan, Llandovery and Llandeilo. The Ceredigion Art Trail is well worth exploring https://ceredigionarttrail.org.uk/ The property is in a small rural village, there is a small convenience shop half a mile away and a couple of pubs within two miles. The nearest village, Llandysul is four miles and has a supermarket and several pubs and takeaways. This home is midway between Newcastle Emlyn and Lampeter on the A475.
  • Second stay at Sarah’s place - all round wonderful experience. Great for small children, and some thoughtful touches. Christmas tree and mince pies! :-)

  • Such a lovely stay, and really was so convenient and easy to find. A great location for us - as we have a lot of family dotted around in the neighbouring towns so felt very much a home from home. Very cosy and self - contained, a lovely space, very relaxing. Look forward to staying again sometime in the not too distant future, I’m sure. Best wishes, Elinor

  • A nice spacious bungalow with 3 bedrooms, can sleep 6 easily. The bungalow has all the amenities including bed linen, towels and beach towels. The location is in a nice picturesque village but still close to the local attractions. There was a welcome fruit basket with bread and milk which was very thoughtful of Sarah & Chris and they always responded promptly to any queries Would love to visit again Thanks

  • What a lovely space - just right for our family weekend away with two small children. A high chair was provided, as well as a child’s toilet seat, and plenty of games. Also, blackout blinds in all the bedrooms. All the family felt very welcome, with bread, milk, fruit, biscuits and cheese on arrival. WiFi issue swiftly resolved by Sarah and Russell (after 9 pm on Saturday evening :-) ) The views are stunning, we enjoyed eating on the terrace in the evening sunshine, and there was lots to visit in the area. We had a good time at the Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre. I would recommend!

    Betty2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in the most gorgeous location, we loved every minute of our stay, Sarah very kindly left us some welcome goodies for our arrival which were much appreciated after a long journey, the house itself is bright, airy and spacious, decorated and furnished with thought, creativity and style, the local area is absolutely stunning, from Cenarth falls to all the beautiful beaches, Ceredigion has so much more to offer than we expected, just perfect.

    Carree2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay and the hosts are fantastic! We were absolutely delighted with our stay. Every care was taken to ensure that we had all we needed, the place is so well equipped, super clean and eBay was so lovely was that Sarah and her mum left us milk, bread and more as a kind welcome. The views are splendid and it’s very peaceful: a good spot all round- not too far from the sea and not too far from the Brecon Beacons as well as from the main motorway leading to Carmarthen. Somewhere you can take the time to contemplate life and also find lots of great places to visit. The only thing worth checking are directions, as the air BnB map is not totally accurate!!!

    Vicki2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • You get a lot for your money at this place the views are amazing and the accommodation is great the pictures don't do it justice its a beautiful place and the beach is only 20 minutes away.

The Cwtch is a private guest suite in the grounds of our home: a 1870 chapel. It is situated between New Quay and Cardigan conveniently off the A487. Guests will enjoy the light and airy room with a lovely outlook onto our garden. People staying will have use of the hot tub and garden spaces. There is also an outside bar/kitchenette area with fridge, microwave and kettle. There is off street parking. Please see link regarding hot tubs. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html
West Wales is a stunning tourist area. You can enjoy the wonderful beaches of Llangrannog, Tresaith, Penbryn and Cwmtydu is just 10 minute drives away. New Quay is 8 miles away and is famous for its bottle nose dolphins that are regularly spotted in the bay. Aberaeron is just up the coastal road too. The bigger market town of Cardigan is 20 mins by car and is famous or its castle.
  • Emma was great at replying quickly and was happy to have us despite booking only a few hours before we arrived! The place was really clean and stylish and we loved the big hot tub and thoughtful breakfast.

  • What a wonderful little place! Emma and her husband really have gone above and beyond with small, important touches that a lot of other hosts don't do. I wish all Airbnb hosts were like Emma. Thanks for a great stay!

  • We have just been to stay at Emma's place and it was nothing short of amazing. From start to finish the stay was perfect, we only stayed for the one night but instantly regretted it when we arrived, we should have definitely booked longer. The room was sparkling and homely. Tea and coffee provided on arrival and the tv has netflix, youtube and other apps. Sitting in the hot tub with my partner at 8pm with a glass of gin looking at the stars was priceless, so relaxing! Emma's home and gardens are beautiful, picturesque and peaceful. Added bonus of breakfast was such a lovely touch. Thank you so much for being the best host! We're going to tell all our friends about this trip.

    Jasmyne2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I recently stayed here with my boyfriend as an early birthday getaway and I can not recommend Emma’s place enough! Emma goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a relaxing, happy stay. The breakfast each morning was a lovely touch and was delicious! Emma is a very helpful host and responds quickly to any messages. The space itself is sparkling clean, and the hot tub is an amazing bonus. Lovely way to switch off and relax! Would 100% recommend staying here and we will be returning if in the area in the future. Thank you Emma!

*CLOSED* The Cwtch At Caerwedros is situated in a tiny rural village between the popular beaches of Llangrannog and New Quay, just 2 miles from the smugglers' cove of Cwmtydu. The Cwtch is equally suitable for couples looking for a romantic bolthole or the single traveller looking for a cosy space of their own. Walk straight from the door through wooded valleys to the coastal path, then warm your toes in front of the woodburner and sink into the super cosy bed upon your return. Dogs welcome!
The Cwtch is a simple cosy base for walkers, cyclists or anyone who wants to investigate the amazing Ceredigion coastline. My favourite translation of the uniquely Welsh word "Cwtch" is "A warm affectionate hug, cuddle or snuggle that gives a feeling of a safe place or home". This is what The Cwtch offers - whatever the weather! You'll find a comfy Victorian iron & brass double bed, crisp white bed linen, upcycled vintage furniture, a romantic woodburning stove, plus facilities for making tea & toast, a microwave for heating food and a small fridge/freezer. There is an en-suite shower, loo and hand basin with hot and cold running water. Logs and kindling is provided for every night booked; more can be bought locally as you require. Initial milk, tea, coffee and sugar are provided for your use. Bed linen supplied (high quality white cotton, feather duvet), 1 bath towel provided per guest, plus hand towel and tea towel. Please bring your own beach towels. Well-behaved pets are welcome; we have young cats who do not appreciate being chased :)
Caerwedros is a tiny rural village near to the historic smugglers' cove at Cwmtydu, where seals give birth to their pups in the autumn. Walk to the heritage coast via the numerous footpaths, or visit local coastal villages New Quay, Llangrannog, Tresaith and Aberporth. About 40 mins drive from Aberystwyth and Carmarthen, about 25 mins drive from Cardigan. We are close enough to the many fantastic beaches for guests to easily enjoy swimming, surfing or simply feeling the sand under your toes, yet not in one of the bustling beach villages which can get very busy during the high season. We are close to the sea and coastal path (less than 2 miles), with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. There is a wide range of local wildlife including seals and dolphins (seals pup on local beaches in the Autumn), so don't forget your binoculars! The cafe at Cwmtydu does a great bacon roll for elevensies to get you fuelled up for the day, but check with us that it is open outside the holiday seasons. Walkers can see all of the beautiful Ceredigion coastline, as we are perfectly placed midway on the sweep of Cardigan Bay. Amazing views right up to the Llyn Peninsula, and South to Cardigan Island. We are just a short drive from the stunning beaches of Tresaith, Mwnt, Aberporth and Poppit Sands. Clear, dark skies allow you to enjoy stargazing with no local light pollution - we regularly see the Milky Way. Fantastic walking, kayaking, surfing and mountain biking are all on our doorstep. If you are a National Trust member remember to bring your membership card to enable free parking at Penbryn and Mwnt beaches. The kayaking and slalom centre at Llandysul is a 20 minute drive away. Our local pub is just a 20 minute stroll from The Cwtch, and there is a wide choice of places to eat locally including traditional breakfasts, brunches, fish and chips, ice creams and coffee on the beach at Llangrannog and New Quay. Alternatively try pub grub at many of the numerous places we can recommend, many of which are dog friendly. Good restaurants are also plentiful. Local shops are a short drive away for any essential items. Browse the antique, craft and coffee shops in the friendly little town of Newcastle Emlyn, about 20 minutes drive from us, or visit the University town of Aberystwyth for the day for a large selection of independent and high street shops. Get a feel for everything going on around us at TheCwtchAtCaerwedros.
  • Wonderful two nights getting away from it all, wondering around the nearby costal towns. Completely fell in love with the area and had such a lovely time at the Cwtch! Thank you for having us

    Jodie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in the perfect location. Beautiful countryside surroundings and only a short drive to some stunning beaches. Everything you need is there from logs to light the fire when you arrive to cereal and fresh bread for breakfast in the morning. If we’re ever coming back to the area we will look to stay here again.

    Lucy2019-05-26T00:00:00Z

  • my partner and I had a really great time staying at Sarah's tiny house. the entire house was sparkling clean, the bed was comfortable and with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. they even provided breakfast items such as milk, yoghurt, jams, homemade bread and cakes! we were also very pleased to notice that everything was plastic free :D they even provided a folder with all the useful information, from local walks to menus of local pubs and restaurants and much more. a final great touch were the bird feeders in the garden just outside our front door, which allowed us to spot blue tits, sparrows and other birds. we could not have had a better time!

    Anny2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. Small but perfectly formed place to stay. Lots of nice touches and a lovely part of the world. Communication from the host was excellent. Thank you!

  • This was perfect for our first trip away with our young dog. Close to dog friendly beaches with lots of walks and Sarah and Justin were lovely and welcoming. Great value for money and would definitely stay again.

  • Would highly recommend The Cwtch, we felt we were the first to stay there as everything was so clean and in tip-top condition. We arrived in pouring rain, but the easy to light wood burner soon warmed us up and the fairy lights set the cosy ambience in this gorgeous country garden setting. We felt very welcome by the delicious homemade treats, which we greatly appreciated. The next few days were sunny and bright, we loved waking up to see the garden birds on the feeders just outside the door and were placed perfectly to explore the area: Kim Stoddart's 'Green Rocket' gardening courses just down the road at her smallholding, enjoyed the scenic sea view road trip up to The Centre for Alternative Technology, delicious pizza overlooking the sea at Penlon Brewery in New Quay and finally Kenfig Nature Reserve for a beautiful walk by the sea, amongst the skylarks on our way home.

  • We had the most amazing time staying at the East Wing, and were taken aback by how clean and cosy the cabin was! We had everything we could have asked for, not to mention the warm welcome from Terry, Sue and Betsy the puppy. Fresh bread in the morning, local tips and the beautiful setting are among the things that made our stay so special. This is an experience we won't forget!

    Balint2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Terry and Sue are outstanding hosts. Their hospitality is 10 out of 10. Where else would you get homemade cake and homemade freshly baked bread. We felt completely spoilt, we wish we could have stayed longer.

    Adrian2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is perfect for a relaxing, cosy break. We had a 3month baby with us and it was perfect. There was everything we needed in the cabin - microwave to clean the bottles, kettle to boil water for the milk, a fridge to keep things cool. And Terry moved a cabinet so there was plenty of space for a cot. The cabin is very clean, and modern. The homeade bara brith and fresh bread was a lovely touch. Would 100% stay here again.

    Rachel2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant stay at Tyr Onnen this weekend. Terry and Sue were excellent hosts - they couldn't have been more accommodating, friendly and lovely. Terry very generously drove us to the wedding we were attending nearby and Sue had great suggestions for where to go for dinner. They brought us freshly baked croissants for breakfast each morning, which we enjoyed in the tranquil setting of the guest porch. The cabin itself is very well maintained, perfectly clean, and excellently kitted out with everything you need, including a great shower. We can't wait to stay again when the opportunity arises!

  • We had such a lovely time! We stayed for a couple of nights in the winter and although it was cold and wet outside the cabin was so cosy and warm. The place is very well put together and beautifully styled. Loved the cute touches such as the handmade soap bar and it's well stocked with other environmentally friendly products. There is a handy utility outhouse with washing machine and dryer and anything else you might need. The cabin feels very private and we loved the enclosed garden facing the sunset where we could let our dog wander around without any worries. It's very comfortable and perfect for any season not to mention it's the ideal location for a quiet beach holiday with such lovely beaches nearby. We're already thinking of coming back in a few months!

The camping barn (hay loft) offers the enjoyment of a camping experience without the fuss of a tent, plus its watertight with a roof and stone walls and the added benefit of being secure, for your self catering break. There is a wood burning stove (Kiln Dried Wood £5/bag). Wet room is a short walk across courtyard to another part of the outbuilding. Enjoy our surrounding gardens/fields with walks by the river and fire pit for a riverside barbecue for those warm sunny evenings.
The 'Hay Loft' is essentially a camping barn and as the name suggests used to be for hay storage over the stables beneath, providing basic accommodation for either a romantic break for two or for a family of four, sharing a large open plan space. Beds and mattresses provided and we now include bedlinen, pillows and towels in the price. A woodturning stove is installed (HETAS certified and DEFRA approved) for extra warmth on those cold nights, plus a microwave. The accommodation has its own garden space, but guests are welcome to enjoy our fields and river. A shared wet room is available for guests with shower, basin and wc, which is a short walk down the side of the building to the ground floor of the annex. Outside tap in courtyard area, suitable for drinking water.
Well situated to local shops or 10 minutes down the road two supermarkets in the market town of Lampeter. There is a wide selection of tourist spots within 50 minutes driving time including steam railways, gold mines, NT properties, hill walking, mountain bike trails, beaches and much more

  • Beautiful location! The Hay Loft was just what we were looking for, a dry private space to stay, no TV, with lovely outside space to play with our toddler. The little river and bridge were a firm fav for our boy too! Stephen and Sarah left us to it but while pottering around were happy to have a natter. Cant wait to come back.

  • Helen’s cabin is a lovely space, cosy yet you have plenty of space. Her photos are very close to the feel of it. Really enjoying our stay - she was friendly and helpful but also left us to our own devices with enough privacy and the company of chickens and cats which visited in the mornings. Very quiet and leafy area with next to no traffic yet close enough to some great beaches and the lovely coastal town of New Quay. Thanks Helen, a lovely stay and great value.

Step back in time when you stay in this rare and perfectly secluded 17-18th century manor house where poet Dylan Thomas lived during the war; enjoy tranquil views of organic pasture from your luxuriously regal four-poster bed, with en suite bathroom, tea/ coffee making facilities, free Wifi and delicious buffet breakfast . 15 minutes from the coast and Aberaeron, half an hour south of Aberystwyth, 10 minutes from Lampeter, and 2 miles from local shops and amenities, Gelly is perfectly situated for exploring all of West Wales' beautiful beaches or the famous Dylan Thomas Trail.
Gelly is a house in two parts; the original farmhouse, now inhabited by Rolanda and her family, was built in 1690. The Guest room is situated in the newer Georgian end of the house, where Dylan Thomas famously rented a room with his wife Caitlin during the second world war. With a fabulously comfortable eighteenth-century king-size four-poster bed complete with hand-painted silk hangings, you will be guaranteed a comfortable (and perhaps romantic) night. Relax in the sizeable en suite bath with views over the garden and no one to see in, except perhaps a few cows in the field beyond, or a squirrel. The depth of quiet here is amazing, and optional shutters as well as curtains keep the morning light at bay for that well-earned lie-in. Fall asleep to the hooting of owls and wake to the melancholy whistling cry of the Red kite!
Surrounded by farmland, the house is well removed (and completely hidden) from the road - a welcome escape from the noise and bustle of city life; come here to unwind, renew your spirits or reconnect with yourself (and each other). Guests have access to the idyllic front garden where you can sit and drink tea, go for a walk or simply breathe in the sweet Welsh air. Three white geese and some friendly hens may wander past but will not disturb you. Nature is abundant here - a recent unexpected visitor was a hedgehog in the hallway, but outside is a birdwatcher's paradise. Apart from the daily Red Kite flyovers, we have resident jays, woodpeckers, Barn and Tawny owls, herons and many besides. Moles, toads, shrews, badgers, peacock butterflies are all familiar.
  • Rolanda's home is very special indeed. Utterly charming, a step back in time and in a beautiful secluded spot. A great place to relax and unwind! Hope I get chance to go back again. I'd highly recommend.

  • A thin place: Somewhere that Heaven and Earth touch closely. One of the Dylan Thomas biographies in the lounge room describes Gelli as such a place and I cannot think of a better explanation for you. A treasure of a property and a privilege to have stayed there.

  • Step in time in and escape to a charming home full of history with lovely private grounds. No television only an array of interesting artistic and literary books - and peace and quiet. The room was lovely and spacious and the four poster bed a treat with nice electric blanket for cold wintry nights. The breakfast was simple but delicious - a choice of cereals and lovely fresh sourdough bread with home made marmalade.

Beautiful stone and slate cottage on our 30 acre Llwyncrwn farm with stunning views across the Carmarthenshire hills. Great central location for exploring West Wales; the stunning beaches and coastline of Cardigan Bay and the many castles and gardens. Dogs welcome (maximum of 2). Good WiFi connection.
We offer a fantastic rural escape. You are welcome to bring up to 2 dogs and enjoy walks around Llwyncrwn farm with it's ponds, woodlands, ancient hedgerows and beautiful views. Our 1 mile woodland walk takes in all these features and includes benches were you can sit and enjoy beautiful views across the Carmarthenshire hills. The cottage is stylishly furnished, with modern facilities and a fully equipped kitchen. Logs for the wood burning stove are included.
West Wales is a very special place; beautiful rolling hills, unspoiled countryside and fantastic views where ever you go. With two coast lines just over half an hour from the cottage there are plenty of beaches and cliff top walks to explore. Historic castles abound and all command dramatic views across the hills. The National Botanic Gardens of Wales and the historic Aberglasny gardens are within easy reach.
  • If you are looking for a beautiful and comfortable cottage in equally beautiful surroundings this is the place for you. The cottage is really well equipped and warm in the winter. It's set on a farm with walks on the doorstep or have a relaxing evening in front of the log burner. There is so much to see in this area and Mark, who is a great and welcoming host, is on hand for advice.

    Martina2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • It’s was lovely location and we enjoyed the cottage and the walks. The fresh eggs and cake were delicious - thank you again - and Mark was very helpful and welcoming. Our son loved the animals and had great fun feeding the chickens with Mark.

    Pratap2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage and location are stunning. Mark is an attentive host and the thoughtful fresh eggs and cake left to welcome us a most welcome treat. We will definitely return and recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore this part of Wales

    Tom2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • I was very pleasantly surprised to have my expectations to the cottage exceeded. The cottage and location are everything that you could ask for when looking for a rural retreat and Mark has such fantastic attention to detail to ensure the stay is as comfortable as possible. The warm welcome continued throughout the stay and my dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Standing Stone. Many thanks for the lovely cake and fresh eggs and for being a truly amazing host.

    Emma2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding cottage, with every mod con, for much less than you would expect to pay. Friendly host, nothing is too much trouble, and he cooks! The farm is so peaceful, with its own woodland walk, including sun drenched benches by the pond. Plenty to do in the surrounding area, or spend time in the cottage, in front of the roaring log stove, or out in the private cottage garden.

    Annabel2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay at standing stone cottage. It's in a lovely setting. A lot of effort has been put into making the cottage and the surrounding farm a great place to stay. Lovely to receive a yummy cake on arrival and lucky to get some fresh eggs from the chickens. Our 2 Yr old loved the animals. The farm is very rural, be prepared for driving up and down lots of hills, it's a great location to visit the surrounding countryside and beautiful coast line. Keep doing what you do I wouldn't change a thing!! Thankyou again for a great week.

    Matthew2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • very friendly and helpful host. Great cottage in a beautiful setting and close enough to explore Cardiganshire

    Leslie2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a place! So much fun to be had and relaxing at the same time. The location is out of this world, peaceful and idyllic. Easy to get to coastal towns or stay in the countryside. The cottage itself has everything you need and is a real home away from home. The farm is stunning to walk/cycle around even for children. Marks hospitality is second to none from check in to check out and I agree with everyone else....the cake mmmm mmmm Thank you Mark for a fantastic time.

Large flat with carpark located at the centre of local amenities.
Llandysul is a peaceful town but retains all of the local services and shopping which most of rural Wales has lost. Ceredigion enjoys the lowest crime rates in the UK and the Welsh language continues to be spoken by most the population.
  • Lovely place, peaceful and cozy. Just what we was looking for with a lovely host.

  • Very spacious flat in a good location. We asked with very short notice to stay here and were greeted shortly after and shown aroung the flat :) Very friendly host with local tips. Would highly recommend, thanks again for the stay!

    Rebecca2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is very spacious. We paid £123 for two nights and wasn’t quite the standard that we have been used to from air bnb. I got the feeling that it was work in progress with no frills. The single bed is a camp bed. There wasn’t a smoke detector and exit from the 2nd floor would be a challenge in the event of a fire. The property details do state no heating and there isn’t ! A a fan above the fire in the longe doesn’t give enough heat to warm the open plan lounge. Upstairs felt damp and was a bit cold. I’m sure that some of my comments will be rectified in which case :- Would we stay there again - yes but not in colder months

This spacious room with twin beds and shared facilities is a great base for exploring west Wales, from Carmarthen, down the Teifi Valley as far as the Ceredigion coast. Watch red kites soaring overhead, try your hand at kayaking or enjoy the walks.
The space is a spare bedroom in my home. It has two fairly new single beds, a wardrobe and a couple of tallboys so plenty of space. The street is a wide cul-de-sac with no problem for parking.
The house is on a hill overlooking the village of Llandysul which sits on the bank of the Teifi River. Red kites soar overhead as you walk down to the main street, where shopping is not extensive but provides the basics. There is also a great Chinese restaurant/takeaway, an Indian takeaway and a very popular Italian café.
  • Lovely home and friendly chat.

Enjoyed my stay! Thanks Dee.

The area is very quiet and quiet and still easy to reach by car and by bus. The house is very comfortable, lovingly furnished and impeccably clean. I had a great time and I will definitely be back! Additional note: I do not know how many, among the Italians who will read this review, study the Welsh language like me; just in case, know that you can practice conversation with her, who is very patient and used to helping students! Diolch yn fawr iawn, Dee!

Set in our own grounds down a short track, ours is a quiet country location. Set in the middle of the village of Drefach Felindre, within walking distance of local shop, pubs, and church. Ample on site parking, and numerous country walks. If you want a quiet, relaxing break then this is the place for you. Were also handily just next door if you have any problems. Within easy reach of the towns of Carmarthen, Newcastle Emlyn, Cardigan, New Quay, Aberaeron and Aberystwyth (The seas never far away)
Our property was once a working dairy farm, and we still retain 27 acres of land. We have horses on the land at the moment, as well as our own hens (handy for that boiled egg in the morning). We have a neighbouring farm, but our area is generally very quiet and relaxing. There is also an outside seating area so you can enjoy a relax or a glass of wine of an evening. Our area also has very little in the way of light pollution so on a clear night is excellent for star gazers.

Llanarth is a beautiful, quaint village, situated perfectly to explore the natural beauty of the West Wales coast. It lies between the harbour towns of Newquay and Aberaeron where you can find your fair share of local pubs, restaurants and hand craft stores, it is also just a 30 minute drive to the lively university city of Aberystwyth.
  • Great space from which to explore the coast or, as in our case, to attend a specific family event. We found and booked Michael’s place really easily on the Airbnb app, Michael’s communication was quick, clear and helpful! On the day of our visit we were able to find Michael’s place easily using Michaels instructions and would have gained access using the instructions provided if we had not been kindly greeted, introduced to the space and fed Welsh cakes! :) I’m not committing Michael to this last additional touch every time but, we appreciated it very much. Thank you. Michael’s space is a compact loft above a double garage, everything needed for a stay is there, a small kitchen, seating area, a double bed and an ensuite. Access is through the garage and there is a narrow stair to negotiate but, we are both able bodied and did this without difficulty. Once in the loft the first impression is one of warmth and welcome after a lengthy drive to get here. Like all lofts there is restricted head space into the eaves but, I’m 5’11’ and not small and found no meaningful restriction. Our visit has been in winter but the loft was warm, cosy and comfortable throughout the evening and night; I’m sure it is also great at other times of the year! Many thanks for hosting us Michael, we highly recommend your loft! Best wishes. Mark

  • Michael and Sue were great hosts. The welsh cakes on arrival were delicious (even better that they were warm!), the location was perfect, and use of the gym/ pool table/ ping pong table was a great plus! Plenty of amenities to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you 😊

The house is an old welsh farmhouse with an annex on the side where the room is situated. It is a comfortable room with its own entrance and shower/toilet room in the annex at side of the farmhouse. The house is situated in the heart of the countryside and is at the end of a mile long country lane which does not go any further. It is 'Out of the way' and you will need a car to get here. We also have another listing now called Justafield - a 2-8 person yurt with all amenities in the field.
The house is an old welsh farmhouse with an annex on the side where the room is situated. It is a comfortable room with its own entrance and shower/toilet room in the annex at side of the farmhouse. It is on a working farmyard with gardens surrounding it. The farmhouse is at the end of a mile long country road which has beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding country side as you drop down into the valley in which the farmhouse is situated. The garden is full of birds, red kites, buzzards, robins, sparrows, blue tits, tits, sparrows and swallows at the moment as well as many others, a quiet haven full of birdsong and spectacular sunsets.
The nearest bus stop is 2 miles away so a car is useful, but we can accommodate pickups by prearrangement. Beautiful countryside and farming land. It is 10 mins from Aberaeron and 20 mins from New Quay and is quietly situated in close proximity to the beautiful Ceredigion Coastline with its many bays and sandy beaches and almost daily dolphin spotting. Central to exploring many areas of natural beauty in Wales.
  • This was my first Airbandb, so I was a little unsure what to expect. Jane welcomed us warmly and gave excellent tips on where we might find the best fish and chips in the local coastal villages when we asked for recommendations. The accommodation was spotless and comfortable, just the quiet retreat we were seeking.

  • It’s a beautiful place! Clean and welcoming! Very comfortable bed! As stated it is down a long farm road so not ideal if a nervous driver! I’m not! I thought I had gone too far as the road was very overgrown when I arrived. It was cleared a day or two later! Much better! You have to walk all the way around the back of the property. Just for those who might feel lost upon arrival as I did! Might be a good idea to bring an extension cord as I couldn’t find many sockets! Mind you I stayed a whole week so I practically moved in! Thanks for a wonderful property! 💕

  • Tucked away down a country lane, an ideal stopping off point . Jane provides a warm welcome and everything we needed for our stay.

  • We loved our stay on the outskirts of Ciliau Aeron. A quiet getaway with lots of books and a comfortable bed. The house is down a long track—you’ll need a car—but we’d liked the solitude. Thanks, Jane!

  • If it’s off grid you’re looking for but with really good levels of comfort and cleanliness ,this is for you. The night sky is as clear as you could wish for and the sunset is amazing. Jane is a great host and the value levels are unbeatable.
