I booked this late the previous night and thought it was the whole house rather than a room in someone's house. We realized the mistake when we arrived and contacted Liz to cancel. She was a bit rude on the phone but gave us some great food suggestions. After we got home I asked for a refund on the cleaning fee as we never stayed there, but heard no word back...

Liz was a fine host. Accomodations were comfortable. Common areas were great places to relax, living room, front & back decks. Quiet Hood. Convenient access to major highways and retail & restaurant businesses. Coffee very good.

Liz was so charming and helpful! She had quite a few brochures of surrounding restaurants, activities and maps of the area. She recommended some great places to eat and was very knowledgeable about the area and what it had to offer. Again, she was a wonderful host and made our stay very enjoyable!

Defenitly worth it made for a great trip!

This cabin was perfect for my sibling reunion! Elk were walking right by the back each morning. The views were awesome. We did lose power, but there were candles and George was right on getting us info! Definitely recommend and or stay again myself!

George was prompt in answering my questions prior to my arrival and provided a warm home to share with my family. The view was fantastic and elk grazed nearby. The home had everything we could ask for.

This truly was a beautiful property. Everyone was impressed upon arrival. It was a large property with adequate privacy for being inside of Payson. Beautiful views from the deck out back, kitchen stocked with cookware for our various meals, and ample space for our large group. There are some renovations currently taking place, and the basement floor is concrete. Also, we noticed a little mouse problem, but it is the wilderness. No one in our group was overly concerned with this, but we were certainly satisfied with the property overall.

George was highly responsive in his communication, always a plus. His home and the location were spectacular. Easy to get to, but once there, feels like you're in a private setting with a gorgeous panoramic view of the forest and rim as well as the elk that walk through the property. Looking forward to another stay!

The stay at Cal's cottage was great, very comfortable, clean we enjoyed the home very much, and our dog appreciated the chain link fencing so she could roam. We would return to be sure.

Close to town and shopping, but still very peaceful and cozy cabin and bunk house. Safely fenced yard with several places to sit outside and relax.

We were fortunate to find Cal's place while working on a construction project in Payson. This location worked out great for a couple months for my crew of 2. It was fully equipped with a washer and dryer, plenty of parking and right in town. The bunkhouse is convenient and is made to hold 2 people, but is rather small if you have 2 adults. Worked great for our needs.

Cal was very accessible and responsive to any of my questions and concerns. The house and attachment were great and a wonderful cozy feel to them! It was exactly what was needed to compliment our brief getaway.

This cottage was perfect for our short visit to Payson. Everything we needed was provided. The property was clean and centrally located in a quiet neighborhood. Cal was quick to respond to our communications; attentive to every detail. We will definitely return and recommend this property to friends and family.

If you're looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, Payson Retreat is for you! The house had plenty of room inside and outside. We really enjoyed the patio and hot tub! The views were beautiful. The kitchen is also fully stocked, which was a major plus for us. I had a wonderful 30th birthday weekend with my family and friends!

Mary and Jim are so nice. And the cabin was beautiful! If you are looking for a quiet little getaway this is the perfect place for you.

Floyd was an awesome host. He is easy to communicate with and responded immediately with questions etc. The home is roomy and gorgeous with all the amenities of home. We enjoyed Payson's charm and beautiful scenery. It was comforting to come "home" to a fully equipped kitchen, hot showers and a beautiful view on the deck. Great weekend!

Great out of the way place with fantastic views

Loved the property, very relaxing with lots of cozy places to sit. I would recommend to anyone staying in Payson. My group spend a lot of time on the deck, playing pool or horseshoe and cooking in the kitchen. -Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, silverware ext. Lots of space with gas range, 2 door oven, large fridge with ice maker, microwave and programmable coffee maker. Loved the kitchen. -Downstairs have steep steps and had a "creepy" feeling to my friends. We spend a lot of time paying pool. -Bedrooms have a lot of space and ceiling fans. Not a fan of the queen mattress because it was "bouncy" but nothing to uncomfortable. House has 2 bedrooms upstairs and a bunk bed in the basement. -Bathrooms were well stocked with towels, shampoo and lots of hand soap. The one for the master is large, the one in the hall is very small but nice. No bathroom downstairs. -Animals. We saw a squirrel, humming birds, other birds, spiders, moths, and lizards. Very active area. Neighbor nearby has a dog that barked a few times. -Deck was awesome. We used the grill, watch the sunset, enjoyed the view and the starts. Watch for bugs. -Backyard has horseshoes but is small. Deck above makes up for it.

Floyd made us feel very welcome from the time of our booking until the moment that we left for our return trip home. The home was very spacious and well furnished. I believe that our favorite feature was the wraparound deck on the back of the house. The view was breathtaking both day and night! The interior of the house was so very comfortable that we felt immediately at home. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were so many places to sit and relax or have a meal that it was hard to decide which to choose. We most definitely hope to stay at this home again sometime.

Floyd was a very responsive host and answered my messages quickly, which was important since we had a last minute booking. Cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The beds in the 2 rooms were a little on the firm side but comfortable enough, but the bunk bed in the basement room was not usable. The space was good for our group of 6 though, with the two teens sleeping on the couch . The deck was great for watching the sunset and the millions of stars at night. There were a lot of beads in the home just tucked away, hanging on chairs, which is kind of a hazard for kids. Also the kitchen counters are nice, but had a rough edge finish that a few in my party got hurt on. All in all, it is a great home base for exploring Payson and the surrounding areas.
