Places to stay in Lundin Links
Sit outside watching the waves with a cosy fire on chilly evenings. Climb the oak library ladder and drift off to sleep to the sound of the sea. Curl up next to the log burner with a good book, or stroll along the beach to spot seabirds and seals.
A welcoming and cosy atmosphere awaits, with a log burning stove, tasteful and comfortable furnishings. The kitchen area is well equipped with 2 burner induction hob, combi microwave oven for baking, cooking and grilling and under counter fridge/freezer. Eat at the dining table which seats four while enjoying the sea view. The comfortable king size bed is on the mezzanine level accessed by a library ladder which conveniently slides away when not in use. There is a spacious shower room with heated towel rail and sliding oak barn door. Fast WiFi, Bluetooth speaker and digital radio included. Outside, the private terrace has comfortable reclining chairs, a dining set, bbq and fire pit and of course the stunning view! The cottage sits in the large garden of the main house which is divided into upper and lower apartments. The lower flat is listed on airbnb as Beach Cottage. Both properties have separate street and beach access and the right side of the garden is for the use of the lower flat while the left is for the Weaver’s Cottage. There is a shared utility shed with washing machine and dryer.
Explore the beaches and coastal path and breathe the fresh, salty air. The adventurous can try the chain walk en route to Elie, or take the coastal path, have lunch at the 19th Hole pub, and get the bus back. Climb Largo Law for some stunning views.

  • Stayed here with 4 friends on a birthday night away. The lodge is lovely with lots of homely touches. The host greeted us right away when we arrived and made us feel at home from the outset. The garden and the area is beautiful. We spent most of our night outside enjoying the summer sunshine and the view. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay at the lodge. Our only regret was that we forgot to bring home the lovely home made scones baked for our arrival. Can’t recommend enough and thank you to Lona for making our stay so special.

    Rea2019-08-24T00:00:00Z

  • My wife and I had a lovely stay with our dog at Di's cottage. The place was bigger than I expected and had everything we needed for a nice relaxing weekend. Di was a great host and the additional touches were lovely. The cottage is in a great location, nice and quiet but only a short drive to the beautiful St Andrews. Overall we couldn't recommend enough and would love to go back again.

    James2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Di was exceptionally welcoming, as was the cosy cottage, with a kitchen that’s begging to have friends cook a cosy meal together in it, a living room that inspires deep conversations by the fire and beds that feel like a big thick warm cloud is hugging you. I’ll certainly be coming back!

Periwinkle Beach House is situated in Largo Bay, Fife and from dawn to dusk this south facing property can be bathed in sunshine. A beautiful renovated house in an unparalleled position on the water. At high tide it is like being on the bridge of your own ship. Periwinkle stands in it’s own grounds and has direct private access to the beach, a spacious patio with outside seating with built in BBQ, private off road parking for 3-4 cars and a secret and very private walled garden.
Periwinkle inside is just as impressive, newly fitted kitchen, open plan dining area and lounge, (the lounge includes a double bed sofa) with sliding doors onto the patio. Upstairs there is a family bathroom (bath with shower), a double bedroom (bed can be made up as super king size or two singles) and a master bedroom (bed can be made up as super king size or two singles) overlooking the sea with a luxury bathroom en-suite boasting an enormous deluge shower and luxury fluffy bathrobes. Periwinkle has full central heating and an open log burning fire for those chilly evenings. There are smart TV’s in both the bedrooms and the lounge, the TV in the lounge also offers Sky Sports and Sky Cinema. Periwinkle has free wifi (high speed and very reliable) and for your extra security has a safe for valuables and an alarm system. Bed linen and towels, even beach towels are included in your rental as well as other luxury extras designed to make our guests feel very special – after all you are staying in a very special house. On request, we can also cater for guest with an allergy to natural fibres by using micro fibre bedding on all beds.
Periwinkle is situated in Largo Bay and from dawn to dusk this south facing property can be bathed in sunshine. This part of Fife’s coast is referred to as the Scottish Riviera and although some way from being sub-tropical has far less rainfall than in the west of the country. Lower Largo is one of the historical fishing villages that make up the East Neuk of Fife and for centuries was known for it’s catches of Haddock where net making flourished and the fisherwomen were noted for their knitting. However, Lower Largo’s main claim to fame is its connection to Robinson Crusoe, it is the birthplace of Alexander Selkirk (B.1676) who was the inspiration for Daniel Defoe’s story. A statue of Robinson Crusoe, looking out to sea has stood at the site of Selkirk’s home since 1885. There are few districts in Scotland that present a greater number of attractions to visitors than that which stretches along the north shore of the Forth from Leven to St Andrews. The bracing sea breezes, the clear blue waves, the flat sandy beaches, the wild and precipitous cliffs, the remarkable caves, the many golf links and courses, the fine old churches, the quaint old towns, the ruined castles, the romantic traditions, the beautiful landscapes, the magnificent views. The pleasant drives, walks and rides may all be enjoyed in the quiet and friendly corner of Scotland known as the East Neuk of Fife.
  • Wonderful location, cosy home with the beach and sea right outside the house. Great living space and cosy bedrooms. Fabulous hosts who make you feel at home. Cannot recommend highly enough.

  • Karen and Charles have done a beautiful job with Periwinkle, everything is of really good quality, and they've really thought about how to make the best of the house. The beach is right there on your doorstep and Charles and Karen are hugely thoughtful. We loved it and we can't wait to come back.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Periwinkle. Waking up to the sound of the waves and seabirds was so beautiful. We were there on a golf trip and loved the Fife courses and people .

  • Periwinkle is a beautiful house in a beautiful location. Charles and Karen have filled the house with everything you could need for a relaxing break. From the beach towels and fluffy robes to the nespresso machine, wine and cupcakes on arrival, you will feel totally pampered and a world away.

  • BOOK IT! Honestly, it’s a lot of bang for your buck. The home itself is stylish and updated and very very cozy and comfortable. The panoramic view from the patio is to die for, the master bedroom over looks the view and I couldn’t have been more at peace while I stayed there. Charles and Karen are very informative and so willing to help with anything. Super sweet people that really feel like family. I wish I could’ve stayed longer, never go home truly lol that’s how cozy and happy I was. They provide bathroom essentials (body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion) and all kitchen cookware/flatware you could need. Super spotless and well thought out decor. I am truly impressed and wish I didn’t have to leave <3

  • Fabulous house in a super location. My favourite bit was drinking coffee on the deck, wrapped in a cashmere wrap (came with the house) & watching the sun come up...in February!!! Our dogs loved the beach & the secure garden is ideal. Excellent WiFi, BT vision tv & luxury bathrooms kept everyone happy. Ideal get away for all ages.

    Lower Largo, United Kingdom

Located in the picturesque coastal village of Lower Largo, a seaside haven in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife. Formerly a bothy, it has been rebuilt to create a comfortable and unique space with balcony-views overlooking the viaduct and beachfront. It is contiguous to popular golfing destination Lundin Links and surrounded by beautiful coastal pathways. A twenty-minute drive will take you to the historic town of St. Andrews, known as the 'Home of Golf' and Scotland's oldest seat of learning.
The property is central to the village. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer downstairs in the utility room.
Adjacent to the 'Bothy' is the popular hotel and eatery, the 'Crusoe Hotel,' as well as the 200 year old 'Railway Inn'; which has an excellent array of gins and speciality beers.
  • The Bothy was everything we expected and more. It’s location is perfect - it’s a minute away from the local shop, pub, and restaurant, and a couple of minutes from Lower Largo’s lovely beach. Fred and Karen supplied us with everything we could need. Absolutely would recommend staying here.

  • We were delighted by the effort our hosts put in decorating the house for Christmas and leaving delicious home made preserves and other beautifully wrapped presents. Thank you so much! The house was perfect for the two of us, small and cosy with the most wonderful views! We have thoroughly enjoyed the coastal walks and visited art galleries nearby. Had a beautiful dinner in St. Monans to wrap up our winter break. We thoroughly recommend Fred and Karen’s house!

  • The Bothy is a compact and bijou accommodation in Lower Largo. Fred and Karen are lovely helpful and unobtrusive hosts. My place is five minutes from Leven promenade and beach, in the Kingdom of Fife, famous for being the 'home of golf'. St Andrews is only 12 miles away, Leven Links golf course is 5 minutes away.
My space consists of two choices of bedroom. This one is a single room which is quite small and described as a box room, probably not suitable for a very tall person, the other space listed is a double bedroom. The photos show aspects of my space. You can see that there is a bathroom with shower and bath, a living room, kitchen and dining room where I offer the unique experience of a challenge of a game of pool on a full size American pool table. There is a shed to store bicycles. Also for the Sporty types Leven Links Golf Course is only 5 minutes away. I am a member of this course and I can get you members rates if you fancy a game. I also offer some golf coaching, caddying, and I have a good knowledge of the history of Leven Links Golf Club which is one of the oldest pieces of golfing ground in the world. Leven Links lays claim to the title of the world’s eleventh oldest club! The town of Leven itself lies on the Fife Coastal Path, and this gives access to the coastal towns and fishing villages of East Neuk. This is an excellent area for cyclists to explore.
The historic course of Leven Links is a few minutes away. The front of Leven has marvellous views across the firth of forth towards North Berwick and Edinburgh.

The garden is immaculately kept and is fully contained - ideal for pets & small children! There is plenty of space including a grassed area, patio and bbq. There is ample parking.
An ideal base from which to explore the East Neuk of Fife with its sandy beaches, coastal walks, quaint fishing villages, delicious seafood, great restaurants & pubs, and of course numerous golf courses. Easy access to St Andrews, or slightly further afield is Edinburgh, Dundee & Perth. Local walks A short walk down a farm track from the cottage delivers you to the Woodland Trust’s Keil’s Den - an area of ancient woodland with a good network of paths for nature walks. Benches are dotted along the paths and burn making restful spots for views and picnics. Depending on when you visit you will often see the woodland blanketed with bluebells, woodrush, dog's mercury and wild garlic. Climb Largo Law continue through Keil’s Den and follow the footpath to the top end of Upper Largo to start the short but steep climb up Largo Law. At the summit you will get fantastic views of Fife, the Firth of Forth and across to East Lothian. You can of course also drive and park in Upper Largo to make this a shorter walk. Largo & Lundin Links Just down the road is Largo, a quaint little fishing village with a pretty harbour and a long beach. The real Robinson Crusoe, Alexander Selkirk, was born and lived here and there is a statue in Main Street to mark the site of his birthplace. The Hotel and restaurant on the harbour is named The Crusoe, and a few steps from there is the welcoming local pub the Railway Inn. There is golfing in Lundin Links with both an 18 hole course and also a nine hole Ladies Golf course. The ladies golf course is the unusual location of the Standing Stones of Lundin - 3 proud standing stones dating back to the Bronze Age (3000 - 1200 BC) and are thought to be part of a wider stone circle. Legend has it that druids used the area for rituals. The best time to view them is very early in the morning or as the last light dips behind the hills - unless you are playing a round of golf! There is also a tennis club in Lundin Links where visitors are very welcome, and a play park for children. Other attractions close by: - Fife Heritage Railway, open Tuesdays and Saturdays, is a real treat for rail enthusiasts. - The Isle of May nature reserve, a haven for nesting sea birds in the Firth of Forth. - Elie Watersports offers a wide variety of water sports on an award winning beach and sheltered bay. - You will also find yourself only 5 miles away from Ceres and the Fife Pilgrims Way. - St. Andrews is only a 20 minute drive away - known for its award winning beach, many golf courses, the British Golf Museum, St Andrews Castle with its medieval bottle dungeon, cathedral and the University of St. Andrews, founded in 1413.

Only twenty to Twenty five minutes from St Andrews so that was great for us. Everything that we needed was there. The sound of the ocean was very relaxing.

Fabulous position right in the middle of the village and garden that stretches right down to the beach. • This is a fabulous location and the views couldn’t be beat. Aside from the beach access and views, the night sky is. It to be missed. We had a clear night where you could see every star in the sky and the Big Dipper was sitting right over the house! It was mesmerizing. Caron left some breakfast items for us and the hot water bottles on the beds were a hit with our group. Would love to stay again when back in Scotland.

  • Claudine’s house is beautiful and cozy with lovely views of the sea! We stayed for my dads 60th birthday and we’re just using Claudine’s house as a base for sleeping in while much of our party were staying in another house close by, but it was very comfortable and cozy! It would be ideal for a cozy relaxing weekend with friends! The shower wasn’t the best, but did the job!

  • Lorraine's place is in Central Leven. It is a quirky flat with loads of character, and the bedroom and bathroom were very clean and the bed very comfy. Lorraine is a lovely host. She was very warm and welcoming to me on what was a very stressful day. She is a great host and a gem of a person. I would recommend Lorraine's place to anyone wanting to stay in Leven.

  • What a fantastic little house! It was the perfect place to enjoy a good book by the fire. Excellent amenities with breakfast and the wood ready to be lit in the fireplace. Would recommend for an easy getaway!

    Chloe2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely beautiful and the hosts have put so much thought in to little touches which make the stay just perfect! A folder FULL of information about the local area, restaurants, takeaways and activities to do was really useful. The breakfast and snacks were also a really nice touch, with milk and fresh orange juice in the fridge! Hosts were very helpful with directions when we were unsure of where to go. Open fire was a beautiful touch and having it set and ready to light was really useful! The place was so clean and beautiful, overall an amazing stay and will definitely be back 😊

    Lauren2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Bothy! The location is great - very close to the coastal path (20 minutes walking, and 10 minutes to the bus stop) but also in a beautiful secluded location in the middle of the countryside. The bothy itself was perfect - clean, stylish and cozy, carefully tended with the greatest attention to detail. The fireplace had been prepared and was ready to be lit, wood logs were available in the porch. We did not have the pleasure to meet Diana, as she was not around during our stay, but we met Jamie - a wonderful host! Friendly and hospitable, he came to greet us, checked on us to make sure we had all we needed, and helped us arrange our stay for an extra night. We'll be back soon!

    Cristiana2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • All the space you really need! The fireplace was stocked and ready to be lit, which was a lovely touch. Cozy living room and comfy beds! A great stop!

    Lauren2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Dianna made everything easy with breakfast items, check in with a lock box, and extra fuel for the fire. The location is really beautiful and so peaceful, yet very convenient for the coast. The accommodation is quite small but had everything we needed for a self catering stay. We recommend The Bothy.

    Alison2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at the Bothy. Much better than staying in a hotel, just like home from home. We found it very clean, comfortable and quiet, set in a beautiful location and would love to stay again when we can spend more time exploring the surrounding area.

An ideal retreat for couples, golfers (with many outstanding local golf courses), walkers and those who just generally enjoy the outdoors. The bus stop to St Andrews is situated at the end of the road.
The flat has just been completely refurbished and is situated in a quiet residential area. Everything you need to make your stay comfortable is contained within the flat. We are very close to local shops, including a butcher's, bakers, general store (which has a cash machine) and pharmacy. A short walk from the flat takes you to the harbour at Lower Largo where there is a very friendly hotel, local pub and another general store. The golf course and beach at Lundin Links are literally 300 yards from the flat.

Golf, walking and sightseeing are a big part of staying within the East Neuk of Fife and with St Andrews only 20 minutes away and Carnoustie only 50 minutes away (by car) you have the opportunity to play some of Scotland's best golf courses. Enjoy the area......it's stunning 😀

A lovely log cabin with 4 rooms with a luxury double bed and clothing storage space in one room. Small kitchen with sink, fridge, hobs, microwave, kettle for teas and coffee and a small bathroom with electric shower and sink. A small single loft bunk bed, table with seating, a sofa, TV with internal dvd player and a lovely open fire in the living room. Only 9 miles from St Andrews and 3 miles to the sea with beautiful views across the sea and at night you can see the lights of Edinburgh.
Peaceful outdoor sitting area with garden furniture and a chimenea for relaxing outside. Big garden and whole field that guests can access anytime. Big open fields surrounding the cabin so plenty space for activities and lots of country walks from the property. Pets on request charges may apply.
There is only one neighbor next to us, another a little bit up the road and then a farm and couple cottages down the road so very secluded and peaceful area.
  • Tiny house, big heart. This has been said before but is worth reiterating- the Love Shack is small. Tiny house small. Don’t expect to be able to dance a tango in there. What is does have is comfort, peace and quiet and an open fire. The DVD player is the only installed entertainment so if you are in need of films download stuff onto your laptop and bring a HDMI cable. No tv channels and no wifi. The kitchen has a tiny oven and hob. Big enough to heat a pizza and chips. Think camp cooking and you won’t go wrong. The local area is stunning with so much too see but if your car is a bit precious and doesn’t like potholes... Recommended: Ceres village, the Futtle pub in the Bowhouse at St Monsnd and the beaches.

  • Monty’s Place is a perfect cosy retreat. It is much more luxurious and quirky than the average cabin style let. The coal fire is fantastic. Really relaxing with an away from it all feel, but actually really close to all of Fife’s attractions.

  • Just back from a great weekend at the Love Shack - birthday weekend for the girlfriend and didn’t disappoint very cosy and compact with stylish touches - very close to St Andrews for a great day out and only 15 minutes to the lovely Ship Inn in Elie for dinner. When the candles are glowing and the fire is roaring it’s so relaxing and provided is with the perfect setting for a chilled out couple of days - even the cows mooing in the early morning added a unique feel so pack some ear plugs if your a light sleeper although it didn’t bother us at all, Monty let’s you get on with it after a few helpful hints on what to do and where to go - highly recommend

5 minutes walk from Leven promenade sea and beach. Leven is in the Kingdom of Fife, a short drive from the historic town of St.Andrew's. This area is the home of golf with an abundance of excellent golf courses which are the pure links style.
My space consts of two choices of bedroom. This one is a double room, and the other space listed is a single bedroom in a small room. The photos show aspects of my space. You can see that there is a bathroom with shower and bath, a living room, kitchen and dining room where I offer the unique experience of a challenge of a game of pool on a full size American pool table.
Leven has a fantastic beach, promenade and one of the best views across the sea. There are views of Edinburgh and the Fife coastline. On a sunny day I think of nowhere else that can match this view. The town has coffee shops, and cafes. It is in a great location to travel to St Andrews, Kirckaldy, and the Fife Coastal road is excellent for walks and bike rides. The coastline towards Crail is well worth sightseeing.

Our room as a great size for us, having brought too much luggage. The beds were super comfortable and we got a great night’s sleep. The very best part, however, were the meals made by Caroline. UNBELIEVABLE!! (Do yourself a favor and sign up for dinner AND breakfast the next morning!!) Will built a fire and plied us with wine while we played with Lucy cat and Lexi dog. It was a lovely experience.

  • The landlord is especially nice, with cute puppies and horses, a great experience.

  • Will and Caroline are adorable people. Our intimacy was really respected was and we appreciated it. The place is sparkling clean and the beds absolutely amazing. (Big up for the most adorable little cat we’ve seen). You must visit this farm if you’re looking for a place to stay with calm and great accommodations. I’d recommend it with both eyes closed. Cheers from France
