  • Fantastic little cabin perfect for a getaway! Close to many attractions, trails, etc but still feels very secluded and relaxed. Check-in and out was incredibly easy, with clear directions. Cabin is thoughtfully supplied and truly has everything you need to relax: bottle openers, coffee pot, extra blankets, fire pit, etc. Wish we had stayed another night!

  • We had a great time! This cabin was everything we hoped for a night away, nice and secluded with great views of the stars and the heater kept us warm. Very comfortable bed and pillows and all the amenities you’d need. Close to several wineries- three sisters was our favorite. Joyce was easy to communicate with and quick to respond which was appreciated. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

    Rachael2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Pine Cabin is MAGICAL. It was everything we wanted and more. Joyce's cabin is located in a secluded/ picturesque part of North Georgia. There was just enough room for 2 people to get away, which we loved. Joyce was extremely friendly and helpful. We look forward to coming back very soon. I highly recommend staying here!!

  • This cabin is beautiful and cozy. Joyce is a wonderful host. We arrived late and check in was very easy. Check out was very easy as well. The cabin had everything we needed for the weekend. It was the perfect place to relax in the evening while we hiked and took a class in the area.

  • My wife and I stayed at the Pine Cabin and were very comfortable. Joyce was very quick answering any questions and check-in was super easy. The cabin was warm and cozy. The bed was great and we had everything we needed.

  • Joyce’s Pine Cabin is awesome! It is a woodland dream; quaint, cute and perfect for our stay. I loved all the personal and homey touches. The cabin was immaculate. After a fire in the fire pit next to my honey (yes he even chopped some wood) I went to sleep with the sound of the bubbling creek. It was a great little escape for us and we will return.

Abbie's Waterfall Treehouse with its abundance of windows, is nestled on a hillisde near a creek on the Hemlock Farm, where a small passel of animals and the main family reside in a log cabin. Private treehouse with a view of the creek and waterfall; short walk takes you to bathroom. Rear of the property accesses the national forest for hiking in a serene and rarely used portion of the mountains. The treehouse is heated and sealed, so you'll enjoy during all seasons.
All of the commonly touches areas in our properties are disinfected as the last step in the cleaning process. Abbie's Waterfall Treehouse is an octagon structure with wrap around windows located just off the creek at Hemlock Farm. You can watch the trickling water from your bed and it is designed to offer you privacy. Located just off the creek you'll be lulled to sleep by the trickling of the stream and waterfall just outside your window. You'll have access to the treehouse bathroom, which features running water and is shared by all three treehouses. Glamping - Going camping, but with glamour. A combination of the two words. It's like regular camping , but with nicer things than usual, being warmer, and more comfortable. Glamping isn't done by usual outdoor types who climb mountains. Treehouses are glamping experiences and as such here’s what you can expect: Comfy beds, k cup coffee brewers, microwave, heated mattress pads, real furniture and radiator heaters, real furniture - dresser, beds, chairs and electricity. You should probably avoid treehouses if you… 1. Don’t enjoy temps outside the normal range for your home. 2. If you don’t like walking back to the woods to enjoy your treehouse. Although we do have a battery operated cart for you to use to take your bags to the treehouse when you arrive. 3. Don’t want to walk to the main cabin to use a flushing toilet and or take a shower. 4. If the idea that the treehouses are not completely sealed and you may occasionally see a critter trying to move in, although we do try and keep them out, upsets you. If you enjoy the woods, nature, being away from city noise then you may just enjoy a stay in one of our treehouses. The treehouse is equipped with a microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator, but doesn't have running water. There is drinking water and a camp toilet for quick night runs. The showering facilities and parking area are a short walk away and shared by all three treehouses. Here is what others have said about their glamping experience with us: “If you are looking for a place to escape into the mountains, this is it! The treehouse is situated right above a small (2'-3') waterfall that provides ambient noise and a beautiful view. It is tucked away behind the main house and is about a 3 minute walk. There are motion sensor lights the whole way so getting around after sunset is no problem. The room is spacious with a good bed, dresser, multiple lights, coffee maker, fan, and books.” “Welcoming, peaceful and calm. A quiet place with a stream running right outside. Great hospitality.” “Joni’s waterfall treehouse was incredible! It is such a nice getaway in the middle of a National Forest. It’s such a unique, clean, comfortable place to stay! You have everything you need while being fully immersed in nature. We would definitely love to come back next time we find ourselves in Georgia!” Pets are allowed pending approval. We will approve animals after we exchange a few emails and establish what exactly you are bringing and make sure you clearly understand the pet rules. There is also a $50 pet fee.
  • This was a dreamy getaway. The sounds of the creek were unforgettable and the hot tub added that little something extra to the overall experience. Perfect space for one or two adults. It was just me and my dog but he’s big enough to be considered another person. There is no cell service, which I actually loved. I enjoyed reading and relaxing.I also brought my projector and watched a movie I had downloaded from Netflix. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend. I feel revived!

    Brandy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay in the treehouse. I somehow never noticed in the listing that the house was on a farm. So, when my daughter and I pulled up to see all of the animals we were so excited. I appreciated Joni's quick responses and willingness to help with anything that wasn't provided or as listed. The only thing that made me nervous was 1 toilet/shower for multiple guests. My daughter had to wait a few times, but, I never did. There also was no cell reception for us and phones charged slowly in treehouse, so be prepared to disconnect and relax! There is wifi in main cabin if you must connect to outside world.

  • It was such an amazing experience getting to stay in the treehouse. Joni was so sweet and helpful providing some info on things to do in Dahlonega. There were beautiful views on the drive up and very thoughtful touches in the room when we arrived. We really enjoyed using the hot tub with the sound of the creek in the background and after getting to make s’mores with the complimentary kit. We will definitely be back!

Perfect place to recharge ! We never wanted to leave the patio seeing that it over looked a small valley and mountains- you could even hear the cows moo! The hot tub completed the whole place. Nothing better than watching the sunset over the mountain from the comfort of a spa. We will be back!!

In the tiny house is shampoo, body wash, coffee, some dish ware items (wine opener included), microwave, tv with streaming services, and a private deck perfect for reading or yoga if the weather permits. The Cherokee Indians named it The Toccoa River, which means beautiful and this treehouse is just as stunning as the waterway for which it is named. You'll have a private bathroom with a jetted tub; located a very short and grassy walk away at the main house. Plan to fish, raft, or just relax with a book. Features plenty of critters in this bright river setting. Private access to river; National Forest on other bank. Located 40 min from Blue Ridge and Dahlonega this is a true mountain getaway!
All of the commonly touches areas in our properties are disinfected as the last step in the cleaning process. This property is in the care of Suches Vacation Rentals, and they feature 24 cabins in the Georgia Mountains. They have over 2300 reviews on Airbnb with a 4.8 out of 5 point average. Send us a list and we will make it happen. Message us to find out the fees for these and to schedule services. ***Treehouse Awareness*** Please keep in mind that you are not renting a cabin. While a cabin is an experience that ensures you'll have all the creature comforts that one normally enjoys in their home, a treehouse is more of a glamping experience. What does this mean? The mountains are a very safe environment. We don't have crime. If, however, you are one to haul valuables with you on your vacation and want to lock them up, treehouses are not for you. Consider either leaving valuables at home or locking them in your car. Also, it gets very cold in the mountains, even our well insulated and modern cabins struggle to stay warm at night in the winter months. Please know that while many enjoy and in fact rave about the treehouse experience in the winter, you may be cold. On the flip side you may also enjoy seeing bright clear winter night skies and an occasional snow. All of this has its advantages and disadvantages, but please go in to the experience knowing it is not a cabin. The queen size bed is wrapped in high quality sheets and a down comforter. There is a coffee pot in your room and an induction stove to make breakfast. Other features include plush towels, large jetted tub, and firepit to cook the evening smores on, or even your dinner if you are real adventurous. The bathroom is a short walk away (100 yards) located at the main house with a private entrance. Key provided for exterior door and for guest use only.
  • Amazing getaway in a beautiful place! Easy check in, great place!

    Chris2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • It was so nice and peaceful, the perfect little getaway for my husband and I! The view out the window was amazing and we really enjoyed our stay.

    Kylie2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful mountain getaway that is on the inexpensive side. It’s basically if you were to have the Ritz Carlton of camping experiences. The drive to the treehouse is beautiful but be prepared to drive a good bit of you do plan on sight seeing/exploring downtown Dahlonega since you have to drive around mountains.

    Lucas2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Charming spot--calm and cozy and peaceful and well-equipped. I was especially impressed with the level of communication and the attention to safety on the premises, such as the motion lights and pathway lights that show the way to the bathroom at night.

    Meredith2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a fun and unique experience! It was a great place to stay and waking up to the river every morning was just gorgeous!!

  • Cindy has a special little escape in the north Georgia mountains. I had such a great time, she will take care of you!

    Katie2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Where do I begin. Our hosts Cindy and Marlon went above and beyond for us. Our AirBnB stay ended up being on the one day it snowed in GA. Cindy and her husband picked us up at a local restraurant after we got stuck in a ditch, and were even amazing enough to take us to an open winery which is something we wanted to during our trip but weren't sure if we would be able to bc we were reluctant to drive in the snow. The hot tub was awesome! The room was super clean and had everything we needed including snacks and a bunch of towels. Can't recommend these two enough for your Dahlonega stay. They will certainly make you feel welcome.

    Maira2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly what they said it would be and more. They were always available to us, everything was very clean and went above and beyond. Happy to say we made new friends.

  • If you're looking for a relaxing stay in the mountains of North Georgia, you're looking at the best house and hosts in the area! My mom and I stayed at Cindy's for Christmas just to get out of town and it was the best decision we made. First off, their cats are all cute and friendly. We had a very clean room to stay in with an absolutely gorgeous view of the sunrise each morning. Cindy and her husband Marlon are incredibly kind and hospitable. I loved staying in their home, they even invited us to their Christmas dinner! 10/10 stars!

    Mackenzie2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Cindy and Marlon was perfect! She graciously made us coffee and gave a great breakfast suggestion. In the evenings we may see Marlon hanging with the cats or reading a book, and he was also very friendly and hospitable to chat with. They are good people and welcoming and kind to everyone.

  • A great place for a woodland getaway. Cathy did a great job communicating with us before and during our stay, answering all the questions we asked. She was very accommodating and the Airbnb was comfortable with a gorgeous view of the woods from the living room. Try to arrive to the location before dark, as the single car road to the Airbnb can be a little hard to navigate late at night.

    Katy2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Cathy's place. It was very lovely with breathtaking views of the mountains. She went above and beyond to provide a warm and welcoming place. She really thought of so much from the comfy bed down to the snacks and drinks that were provided. The massage chair was so wonderful as well. The view alone was well worth every penny. I highly recommend staying here and hope the opportunity arises for me to stay again.

    Christian2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I had a great and relaxing stay at Cathy's. Everything was perfect! It was the cozy hideaway described and more. So many thoughtful touches that really blew us away. The space was clean, amenities are endless, and communication was excellent. We are already planning to come back. It was the best weekend getaway! Thank you, Cathy!

  • What a great place to stay for exploring Dahlonega and the surrounding area and wineries! Great location only minutes from downtown but super-private with beautiful views. The place was filled with thoughtful touches and everything was first-rate. Highly recommend and I hope to stay there again and again when visiting the area!

  • This space was absolutely perfect for a weekend get away! It was spacious and had everything we needed. We were grateful to have a spot to park in the garage since it was raining when we arrived. The bed was super comfortable and the entire place was very cozy! Would definitely recommend and stay again!

  • Our second time visiting this lovely place. Cathy's gift of hospitality simply shines!! This is our favorite of all the AirBnB's, guest homes, boutique hotels we have ever stayed!! Cathy's communications are quick, the amenities and extra touches are divine. The space is cozy and beautiful with amazing views. But it is Cathy's warm spirit and bright smile that makes your stay fantastic!! This is our home away from home when we visit our daughter at UNG!! Can't wait to return...again and again!!

    Moses2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a neat little place. As affordable as a hotel room, but a little spot of your very own with an awesome deck. Great place to also bring the pups! I loved it and others I shared my experience with think it's pretty neat as well.

    Vanessa2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A unique place to stay! Also included complimentary breakfast, which was a plus.

  • We had a short but sweet stay in our sunrise container, and we’re already trying to plan another visit! Lauren greeted us when we arrived and she was very kind and helpful. The container stayed toasty warm during the cold 20-degree weather, and we had everything we needed during our stay. Definitely recommend staying here for a weekend away from the city to hike and visit some wineries!

  • I'd stay again if I went back to Dahlonega!

    April2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a cool find and I enjoyed my stay! Perfect location for nature lovers and it was very clean! Quiet and warm despite how cold it is out right now. I wish I could have stayed longer! And the hosts were very hospitable and down to Earth. They even helped bring my equipment to the container. Definitely going to book again soon!

Romantic and private mountain cabin located just north of historic Dahlonega, on Cane Creek with 25 ft high waterfall, great room w/ massive stone fireplace, screened porch w/ rocking chairs overlooking creek, flagstone terrace within 10 ft of creek.
Romantic and private mountain cabin located just north of historic Dahlonega, on Cane Creek with 25 ft high waterfall, great room w/ massive stone fireplace, screened porch w/ rocking chairs overlooking creek, flagstone terrace within 10 ft of creek and flagstone walkway around cabin, 1950s kitchen with antique side board sink, refrigerator, electric stove, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, 1950s bathroom fixtures including porcelain tub/shower with lots of gas hot water, 90% efficient quiet gas furnace, easy unloading-park 15 ft to front door, located inside a gated facility staffed 24/7, just relax and sit by the fire or take a walk along the scenic mountain trails or take the "Georgia Wine Trail" to the many wineries nearby or enjoy a play or movie at the historic Holly Theater. Dahlonega was the site of the first gold rush in America in 1828 and is the home of North Georgia College and State University. The waterfall is about 200 ft downstream from the cabin. Between the front of the cabin and the falls there is a grassy area that great for bad-mitten or touch football. Then there is a small gravel parking area for the cabins that are across the creek. If you continue walking straight ahead there is a boardwalk to an observation platform at the top of the falls and wooden stairs up to the roadway above. You can walk along the roadway down to the bottom of the falls. The roadway is the easy walk to the bottom of the falls. There is also a foot bridge going across the creek just above the falls and another footbridge across the creek below the falls. I'm not sure if the upper trail across the creek that leads to the other side of the top of the falls has been improved and repaired to allow access to an old timber stairway leading from the top of the falls to bottom. If the stairway is open then you can circle the falls, down one side and up the other. The best wading is just below the falls where you will find a pool of water and the creek has a rocky bottom for rock skipping and easy wading (river shoes or old tennis shoes are nice). Swimming is not allowed in the pool of water at the base of the falls for safety reasons (powerful hydraulics at the base of the falls). At dusk when the kids were young we liked to make "bark boats" out of 6" to 8" pieces of pine bark with lighted birthday candles mounted on top to see who can keep their bark boat lighted the farthest downstream. When the summer campers are out we just give them their space so that we don't disturb their organized activity. The councilors and kids are very friendly. We haven't been horseback riding in years, but I did find some places nearby that have horses to ride. There are two large cast iron bells at the front entrance used as planters for ivy. These bells used to be in front of my great grandfather's home, "Two Bells", in Dahlonega where he owned a general store in the late 1800's. The home was named after his daughter Isabelle (Belle for short) and his granddaughter also named Isabelle. I have been told that one of the bells rang when the civil war ended and the other rang when North Georgia college was founded in 1873. He had the honor of representing the citizens of Dahlonega in the U.S. House of Representatives and secured the U.S. Mint Building in Dahlonega for use as the North Georgia Agricultural College, now know as North Georgia College and State University. He headed up the governing board of the college for over 30 years until his death in 1908. When my great grandfather died my grandfather's family along with my dad moved to Atlanta, and in 1951 my dad and his 3 sisters and brother decided to build this cabin next to Cane Creek so that they could visit their old hometown and discover their roots.
Our family cabin is surrounded by hundreds of wooded acres that follow along Cane Creeek (including the falls) that are cared for by Camp Glisson, a double gated summer camp and meeting facility. Our cabin is situated just above Cane Creek Falls with vehicle access right to the front terrace for easy unloading, There are a few cabins across the creek that are accessible by a foot bridge and path that winds along the creek.
  • I am hesitant to write a review because I don’t want to give away the GOLD that this cabin is! My family & I grew up coming to this wonderful cabin so coming back this weekend was wonderful. If you are looking for a place to escape, relax, get in touch with nature, visit a great small town, and more this is the perfect place! The cabin has anything you could need just bring a book & some fuzzy socks and you’re set for the stay!

    Bianca2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin and grounds. A lot of rain lately so the waterfall was extra spectacular. Our dogs loved running around on the trails and playing in the creek. We enjoyed building a nice warm chiminea fire then grilling and chilling on the terrace. The cabin is like stepping back in time and so many things are original. Learned quite a bit about the history of Dahlonega and the Gold Rush. Once settled in we never left the entire weekend, there are so many wonderful things to discover inside and out. Of course we had to watch “Deliverance” again from the DVD library lol. Hope to be back soon!

    Laura2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin. Wonderful location. The sound of the falls from screened porch was so peaceful.

    Barbara Edwards2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent spot you can hear the falls from the cabin your so close, only couple min drive into downtown Dahlonega.

    Toby2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you love nature and want the experience of living by a waterfall, this is your place. Step back in time in a 1950's style home. All the amenities of home. Screened in porch overlooking the creek. Look out and up at the mountains. Walk 150 yards and stand atop a 50 foot waterfall. Excellent for adventures. Private camp. Great fireplace. No cable but does have internet and DVDs. A great place for a romantic get away.

We're located right near Stonepile Gap, at the intersection of US 19 and GA 60 - supposedly the resting place of Trahlyta of Cherokee legend. The historical marker at Stonepile reads, “custom arose among the Indians and later the whites to drop stones, one for each passerby, on her grave for good fortune.” Today there is a pile of stones some six feet high. You won't find better views of the North Georgia mountains than from Cedar Mountain. You're going to love recharging and relaxing at our chalet.

  • This cabin is the most wonderful retreat for relaxation and has the BEST view. Also, this is the best AirBnb I've seen when it comes to bringing a dog. There is not only a fenced in porch, but a side enclosed dirt area. It was so helpful for us. We highly recommend this cabin and location! -Jessica

  • What an amazing stay! We arrived later at night. Much to our delight, all of the lights were left on for us, the house was already heated and snacks and bottled water were left out for us. What an amazingly welcoming and convenient arrival! We were greeted in the morning by beautiful Mountain View’s and just complete peace and solace. The chalet is in a perfect location: 10 min drive from the Woody Gap trailhead, short drive from some of the most beautiful wineries Dahlonega has to offer and local attractions. Added benefit of wonderful stargazing at night right outside your front door. Check-in and check-out was incredible simple, clear instructions and wonderful hosts! Scroll no further, you’d be missing out to pass up this truly one of a kind experience!

  • We enjoyed our short stay at Jesse's place. The cute chalet is located in the perfect location within a few miles from the winery we visted. Check in and out was a breeze. The cozy home was very well stocked and the special thoughtful perks (snacks and a note card) put the cherry on top. The views are nothing less than spectacular. I can't wait to return.

One bedroom rental in downtown Dahlonega.
Great apartment within a 5 to 10 minute walk to historic downtown Dahlonega. The apartment is only a couple of years old. It has a kitchen with various pots and pans along with a service setting for 4. A Keurig is supplied with coffee and tea.
'The Cane Patch' is in an older neighborhood within the city. We’re on the edge of the historic district. The residents are Dahlonega natives, students at the university and new arrivals such as ourselves.

  • This was our second time staying at Walden Creek Cabin. We loved our stay so much before that we chose to come back. We also were willing to come doing the corona virus pandemic because we remembered what a clean cabin Maureen had. She even sent us a message to reassure us she would be taking extra cleaning measures to ensure it was sanitized. The location of the cabin was perfect for our plans: hiking and wineries. Absolute great price, and we loved being able to bring along our dog, Roxy. We will most likely make vacationing here a tradition.

  • Great little spot tucked in the woods. Our stay was short but we enjoyed every minute of it. Great place to relax and also a Nice drive to the downtown area Maureen was a great host.

    Kerry2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen's cabin near Walden Creek is a lovely place to stay. The decor is elegantly simple, and there is a feeling of a sort of holy peace about the place. The photos do not do it justice. The floor plan is very open, so there is a lot of air and light. The upstairs bedroom with the full bed is larger than it appears in the photos. The beds are very comfortable with pillowy quilts that make you feel as if you are sleeping wrapped in a cloud. The cabin is about 20 minutes from the Woody Gap trail head of the Appalachian Trail, and the hike from there to the spectacular view at Preacher's Rock covers some of the most beautiful parts of the AT in Georgia.

    Anne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! There is so much to do in the area - hiking, visiting the wineries, spending a day downtown, and taking in the beautiful waterfalls in the area. Walden Creek Cabin had everything we needed. A fantastic view, a wood stove for the chilly nights, TV and internet, gas grill on a large deck, a fire pit and comfortable beds. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and Maureen thoughtfully left bottles of water in the refrigerator along with creamer for our coffee. The bowl of snacks saved us that first night when we were too tired to go out in search of a place to eat. This is the thing that struck me the most - the house was spotless. The cleanest Airbnb I have ever stayed in. We definitely will be returning to the area and this house as our weather was dismal and we didn’t do everything we wanted to do. I’m not complaining! Looking forward to returning.

    Deborah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place with a beautiful view. My group and I were unexpectedly snowed in and could not leave the house during our trip. While we were sad not to take advantage of hiking, vineyards, and Maureen’s beautiful deck, it was a comfortable and cozy place to be ensconced for a weekend. Maureen was very communicative and helpful, alerting us to road closures and letting us have a late checkout. She also provided teabags and hot chocolate on our arrival. We plan to return in better weather!

  • Beautiful cabin in the middle of the woods private and an amazing view about 20 minutes from downtown Dahlonega

    Lina2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was exactly what we were hoping for as a weekend getaway from downtown Atlanta. The cabin was secluded and so cozy. The view from the outdoor patio is amazing and the indoor patio was great for getting away from the cold. We especially loved the way the rain sounded on the roof. The house was stocked with games and puzzles for those lazy cabin days. I appreciated the flexibility on check in times, as well as the snacks that were left out for us. And my dog loved exploring the woods behind the house. I would definitely come back.

Everything was clean and cozy, with that perfect cabin feel! The location is amazing! We never left the area due to a rainy weekend, but we didn’t miss anything! To the right are beautiful Mountain Views , and a short walk to the left are Gooch Falls. No one got cabin fever, even when we were rained in, thanks to TV with Roku in the loft area. • I had a fantastic extended weekend in Susie’s cabin! The cabin is the perfect mix of rustic and modern. Perfectly located close to anything you may need in town but felt like I was far away from any city. Susie is a WONDERFUL host and lovely to speak to. She was very helpful with information about things to do and places to eat in the surrounding area. She also allowed me to bring my dog who thoroughly enjoyed napping, exploring a trail or two, and roaming inside the fenced area at the cabin. From start to finish a perfect weekend stay! I will definitely stay here again!!

    Crystal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect little place to get away from the city and enjoy the outdoors. So many great touches to the house, too. Susie made everything so easy and I hope we get to visit Cleveland again!

    Christine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z

  • We booked this vacation to celebrate our daughters' birthday, and this was my first time stying in an RV. I was very apprehensive as staying in an RV can come with a certain 'stigma'. Well, I was blown away by just how comfortable and yet cozy it was, not to mention EXCEPTIONAL hospitality from our host, Jeanine. It was an unforgettable trip! THANK YOU!

  • Loris cozy cabin was everything we hoped it would be. So beautiful and nostalgic with the pond out front, and the back deck with the hammock. We especially loved the gas fireplace that kept us warm on these past 2 chilly nights . We were also lucky enough to get a tour of the farm and meet their horses and Donkey. And the second day it warmed up enough for us to enjoy sitting by the pond in the morning with our coffee :) If your an animal lover and enjoy wide open spaces and quaint cozy living areas, then this is the Airbnb for you!!!

  • Loved staying at Sonya's place! Sonya was easy to communicate withn thoughtful, and very accomodating. The place was beautiful, very clean and the views were amazing. As others have noted the bed is very firm (I found it pretty uncomfortable), and temperature is controlled by Sonya...not the guest. I didnt have any issues with temp but can see how this may make folks a bit uncomfortable having to interupt someone to change the temp. However, Sonya seems very accomodating so I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue. The road to the cabin is fine. I've been on much more intimidating mountain roads. If you are worried be sure to get a feel for it in the daytime first...before going at it at night. All in all it was great and I would definitely rebook.

    Lola2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sonya's place is only five minutes from downtown and has a wonderful porch that is perfect for a glass of wine or cup of coffee overlooking the mountains. Her responses to my questions were immediate, and check in was very easy. We will stay here again!

  • Lovely place nestled into the mountains in Dahlonega. Loved the decor and the large bathroom with a claw foot tub. My husband commented on the size of the rooms and he rarely notices things like that! We will definitely be returning. Thanks!

  • We loved that we were greeted at our car as we pulled up. He was great at showing us around, what was provided in cafe area, and how to use the lights/fan in our room & how to enter/exit the door. The room was cozy, warm, clean and very nice. I’d highly recommend staying here.

    Jennifer2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the space! Perfect place to call home while we visited Dahlonega for a wedding. So clean and cozy, and the clawfoot tub was lovely! Complimentary Hulu and Netflix and a very cozy bed. Highly recommend.

Welcome to The Schoolhouse Cottage! Here you will savor calm, relaxation, and solitude within the walls of a beautifully restored two-room schoolhouse built in 1848. During your stay you will be surrounded by historical artifacts while enjoying all the conveniences of modern amenities. Only ten minutes from the Dahlonega Square, yet tucked away in its own little forest, the Schoolhouse is a private retreat that still keeps you close to everything.
Staying in the Schoolhouse Cottage is staying in a piece of history. When you walk through the living room and master bedroom you are walking on floors that school children walked on 170 years ago. The photos hanging throughout the cottage are historic images of Dahlonega and North Georgia from an archived collection that you'll doubtfully see anywhere else. What's more, the modern amenities and attention to detail allow you to savor the history that surrounds you while still enjoying the comforts of the 21st century. To top it off, the cottage is less than two minutes from the main road yet once you are there you are surrounded by wooded land, hills, and privacy. The Schoolhouse is located in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains minutes from the town of Dahlonega and a variety of North Georgia attractions. It is ideal for those who appreciate a unique and thoughtfully cared for home-base as they venture out to explore the rich history, natural wonders, and local activities in the surrounding area. If your idea of the perfect vacation involves lounging on the couch and spending hours watching TV, while lovely in its own right, this may not be the best fit. The focal point of this home is its uniqueness, history, little details, and the endless beauty and experiences to be found beyond its walls. Get out there and explore! There is so much incredible stuff to see and do! Finally, please read the full description of the cottage, the amenities, and the house rules prior to booking. And if you plan to bring your pup along for your stay you must register him/her as part of your booking party.
Site of the first major U.S. Gold Rush and the Heart of Georgia Wine Country, Dahlonega offers an authentic, mountain getaway only an hour north of Atlanta. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Dahlonega offers expansive mountain vistas, roaring waterfalls and bubbling streams, postcard-worthy wineries and an abundance of entertainment. Whether your perfect day involves wading knee-deep in the river panning for gold, strolling through art galleries, shopping in one-of-a-kind boutiques, or sipping perfection expressed in Georgia wine, Dahlonega is guaranteed to please. Experience historic tours and attractions, stroll our delightful Downtown -- listed on the Historic Register -- adventure through the Chattahoochee National Forest, and enjoy live music, theater and arts entertainment year-round at venues and seasonal festivals.
  • The schoolhouse is absolutely perfect in every way! Callie’s local tips were very helpful. Our family of four slept comfortably and enjoyed mornings and evenings on the beautiful porches. We spent our days exploring the local waterfalls and hiking the state parks. As a teacher, I loved reading about the history of the schoolhouse and all the little touches. Callie did a great job of keeping the historical integrity of the schoolhouse while making the space modern and efficient. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend this adorable cottage! It feels secluded while being only 10 minutes away from charming downtown Dahlonega, with plenty of shops and restaurants. And it’s about 20 minutes from Dawsonville, which has grocery stores and chain restaurants. Absolutely perfect stay!

  • Beautiful home in a great setting...and the bed sheets are exceptional!

    Cameron2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house is the cutest place! We brought our dogs and they had plenty of space to inside and loved being outside! Callie was amazing and was always quick to answer any questions we had. This is the perfect place to stay with your significant other, to have a little couples get away or get some girlfriends together to go to the wineries!

    Lindey2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Schoolhouse Cottage was a delightful place to spend a few days. There is plenty to do in the Dahlonega area but it was wonderful just hanging out at the cottage....if you can do without a TV.😉 The cottage was sparkling clean and was furnished with dishes and pots & pans that were like new. The stars at night and sunrise in the morning were spectacular.

    Dee2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time in Dahlonega! The cottage is beautiful and decorated so well. It was very clean. Callie was quick in responses and very helpful!

    Alyse2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Schoolhouse was exceptional. Perfect for two couples. Extras were provided that often are not. It was very clean, linens were nice. The location was perfect. The porches are awesome for relaxing. We would certainly come again.

It's also within easy walking distance of the Dahlonega square with lots of shopping and restaurants. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. There was a thoughtful binder full of information about the area that gave us some good suggestions of things to do and places to eat. The kitchen has nice modern appliances and plenty of pots, pans, dishes, and utensils for when you want to cook your own food. Overall, it really felt like a home. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on any future visits to the area.

  • We had a great time. Very secluded, but not hard to get to. We didn’t venture off the property as we were perfectly content to hang out at the cabin and take little walks in the woods on site.

    Julie2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was absolutely beautiful in person and made for a very relaxing getaway

    Jennifer2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joni’s place is AWESOME. It’s a beautiful lot that our dog loved to roam around on. The place itself was very cute and clean & had everything we needed. This is definitely a place you’ll want to bring groceries with you & stay all day!

    Alex2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place was adorable! The cabin is much cuter in person than in pictures. The decorations were all in theme with what you would expect to find in a wood cabin! Joni has great taste. The cabin was a little tricky to find as the GPS takes you to the neighbors house - be sure to look at the house numbers rather than blindly following the GPS (like we did). It’s near many great hikes and Joni provides a binder full of suggestions for things to do. It’s pretty far from any restaurants though, so plan accordingly.

    Lexie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is charming and private. The forest surrounding it is peaceful and lush.

    Vinitia2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy cabin secluded in the north Georgia mountains. Very easy to find, and several great walking and hiking trails near by.

    David2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was absolutely PERFECT and Joni was an excellent hostess!! I’ve stayed in a lot of Airbnb’s and I have to say this was the most well equipped kitchen I’ve ever stayed in, which worked out perfect since we came in the middle of a cold front and didn’t want to leave the cabin. It was a great secluded getaway, can’t wait to visit again in Springtime!

Serenitree House, stocked with hundreds of books, sits on a hill and is built from reclaimed lumber from the old Hoyt Farmhouse. Hike out the front door into the national forest and up Pilot Mountain. The rough-hewn wood adds much character to the design. You'll be able to relax on the porch with one of the books while watching the sunset, and in the morning the sun will shine through the 34 yr old stain-glass window above your bed. Listen to the birds then and watch the stars at night.
Sereni-Treehouse is located at Hemlock Cottage on five acres with the main cabin, where the family lives with their passel of farm animals - 1 retired party pony, turkeys, ducks, chickens and goats. Our book collection is constantly growing and changing. Please feel free to bring a few of your own and take as many as you bring. Serenitree-house is a play on the word serenity and treehouse. We hope that the eclectic decorating and selection of good reads will compliment your time on the porch or snuggled up in the blankets of the bed. Glamping - Going camping, but with glamour. A combination of the two words. It's like regular camping , but with nicer things than usual, being warmer, and more comfortable. Glamping isn't done by usual outdoor types who climb mountains. Treehouses are glamping experiences and as such here’s what you can expect: 1. Comfy beds, k cup coffee brewers, heated mattress pads, microwave, refrigerator, radiator heaters, real furniture - dresser, beds, chairs and electricity. 2. The treehouses share a bathroom with running water, and electricity, which is a short wallk away. The treehouses themselves feature a camp style toilet. You should probably avoid treehouses if you… 1. Don’t enjoy temps outside the normal range for your home. 2. If you don’t like walking back into the woods to enjoy your treehouse. Although we do have a battery operated cart for you to use to take your bags to the treehouse when you arrive. 3. Don’t want to walk to use a flushing toilet and or take a shower. 4. If the idea that the treehouses are not completely sealed and you may occasionally see a critter trying to move in, although we do try and keep them out, upsets you. If you enjoy the woods, nature, being away from city noise then you may just enjoy a stay in one of our treehouses. Here is what others have said about their glamping experience in our treehouses: "The treehouse is amazing and has all the basic amenities you could need. The surrounding property is quiet and charming, and you cannot beat Joni's warmth and hospitality." "This treehouse is absolutely adorable. I especially loved the windows and being able to peek out from the window at the top of the stairs. This became my favorite place to sit and watch the rain and the wildlife! " Sereni-Treehouse is designed to host couples/singles who want to get away from it all. The treehouse sits on private property but you are a few feet away from the national forest, where you can hike to the waterfall that creates the creek on the property or to the top of Pilot Mountain. The treehouse is equipped with a microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator, but doesn't have running water. There is drinking water and a camp toilet for quick night runs. The showering facilities and parking area are a short walk away and shared by all three treehouses. Pets are allowed pending approval. We will approve animals after we exchange a few emails and establish what exactly you are bringing and make sure you clearly understand the pet rules. There is also a $50 pet fee.
  • Sereni-Tree was the perfect mountain get-away for my pup and I! Joni and her family were very hospitable and made me feel very comfortable and safe going to the main cabin for showers and other needs. The cabins are pretty close to a lot of trail heads that connect to the Appalachian Trail, so there's good hiking in the area. Just be prepared to plan your hikes or other adventures before you leave the main cabin because you won't have service or wifi in the tree-house. It's a great spot to unplug from the world!

    Ashlyn2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This eclectic treehouse felt magical - and the forest it is set in is very beautiful. The host(s) were very friendly and helpful, and provided us with everything we needed (and more). The treehouse was outfitted for a very comfortable stay. We would love to come stay again!

    Alicia2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cute treehouse for a rustic, quiet get-away in the middle of nowhere! Peaceful with minimal distractions to disconnect from the world!

    Jessica2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was exactly as advertised, I was very happy with my stay. Also, I felt very welcome to come cook in Joni's kitchen.

    Gino2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jonis place was great located in an really peaceful isolated area with tons of friendly cats and dogs roaming around. It gets really cold at night so be prepared but other than that I had a really nice time! It’s a long drive to get anywhere so make sure to bring groceries and anything you’ll need on your stay! Plenty of hiking areas around and great views. Didn’t feel awkward going into the main house either, people were scarce!

    Brittany2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I stayed at the Sereni-treehouse for our Valentine's weekend getaway. It was exactly what I had in mind, as far as "glamping" goes, as well as being as far away from city life as possible. The tree house is definitely not insulated well, so if you're staying in the winter time then make sure you pack very warm! But being in there, you can make it as cozy as you'd like, with the space heaters provided as well as the heated blanket. Our trip was fun and amazing and Joni and her co-hosts were also amazing. I definitely recommend staying in the Sereni-treehouse!

    Madison2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joni was very easy to communicate with!

    Christina2020-02-10T00:00:00Z

  • Our stay was very comfortable. While there are lots of friendly kitties they are only in the house at night. We didn’t even notice them. Cindy had coffee ready for us in the morning, which we enjoyed on their back deck with a spectacular view. Overall a good experience.

  • The home was beautiful and had little snacks and water available. The whole expirience was homey with just the right amount of class. I would definately stay again.

Our Sunset Eco Cabin is an 8' x 20' shipping container that was renovated into a tiny home. It has a full bed, bathroom with shower and hotel-style kitchenette with coffee pot, microwave and mini-fridge. Sliding glass doors allow natural light to flood the space and the front porch gives a great yet private view. Relax on the deck and watch the sun as it rises over the Appalachian Mountains. Guests must be able to walk up a small hill to access the cabin.
The Sunset Eco Cabin is part of a 3.25 acre property. There is a large deck connected to the main building directly outside of our lobby. Each night (weather permitting), we'll light up the fire pit, making it a perfect night for stargazing or making S'mores. There is also a gas grill and Big Green Egg (large) available for your use. There is a short (0.5 mile) trail around the property that is great for stretching your legs in the morning or after a long car ride!
While we're secluded from the hustle and bustle, we're only a 10 minute drive from Downtown Dahlonega and all it has to offer. Guests of Barefoot Hills Hotel will find nature's tranquility and endless activities. Indulge in outdoor adventures, including hiking the Appalachian Trail and kayaking on the Chestatee River. Spend the day touring the vineyards at the heart of Georgia Wine Country - there are 9 within 10 miles of the property! Discover Dahlonega's historic public square where you can enjoy some awesome eats and learn about the Gold Rush. We're happy to make recommendations and assist you in planning whatever adventures you have in mind.
  • The listing is described perfectly. Chase (forgive me if that’s the wrong name) was wonderful...checked us in and walked us to our unit. Really great that staff is on the property for a good bit of time each day and pretty late into the evening. They have multiple local beers on-site and some snacks for purchase. Our container unit was extremely clean and really thankful for the stool to climb up in to the bed! Was really cozy and comfy.

  • These shipping container houses are the coolest and most comfortable little houses to stay in. The folks here really care about your wellbeing and really take care of your every need. They helped to make our anniversary trip just that much better. From the check in to check out they make everything smooth and memorable. We cannot wait to come back and stay here again. This was so much more fun and comfortable than a hotel!
