Places to stay in Luck
New 520 sf 'not too tiny' house on 20 wilderness acres. Year 'round hot tub. Dog friendly. RV & EV plug. Firepit. Your Snowshoe Creek and Little Wood Lake trails. Free canoe, kayak, paddleboat. $25/day mini-pontoon boat. Fishing. Internet. WiFi. AC. Gas Fireplace. Sleep by Number. New gas stove. Ice maker. 2 TVs. ATV & snowmobile trails. 3 towns + Burnett Dairy/Bistro, 4 golf courses, DQ to fine dining, mini-golf, antiquing, multi-theater, Siren beach & 'Music in Park'. Wildlife! You'll return.
This is like nothing else you'll see or visit on this entire site. Experience the art of living more fully by cutting off commonality and grow emotionally by getting back in touch with unfettered nature. Sit and lean up against a huge tree just feet from the spring-fed creek and watch it flow over the sandy bottom even in the snow of winter. 'Now you're talking' - without saying a word. Be quiet enough to hear the owl or loon sing right into your soul.
We live across the creek and upstream yet far from you. Why after traveling the world did we end up here? Handy to the grandkids in White Bear Lake, yet a rare and raw piece of wilderness. For you? Close enough to get here quickly. Yet, an environmental 180 that is needed to put life back in balance. Hopefully, you'll find it hard to leave and easy to come back for another recharge.
  • This is BEST place I’ve ever stayed at. Even better than the pics. Dave is extremely polite and helpful. It was the most peaceful place. Can not wait to go back, never wanted to leave. 😍

  • If you want privacy this is the place. Use of the property grounds and trails. The tiny house is super with all the homey touches. Your host is great and alot of knowledge of surrounding area.

  • I took my girlfriend here for a little getaway before we both start working heavily. We absolutely loved the location and the tiny cozy cabin feel. Dave gave us some great recommendations on where to eat and where to hike. We will definitely be visiting again.

    Devin2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was my third time back, and my favorite retreat to escape life for a few days. I could never get sick of the beauty, the tranquility, and the experiences of being out at Dave’s place. Exceptional in every sense!

    Jenesa2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is lovely! The hot tub and gas fireplace make the space cozy and comfortable even on the coldest nights. We loved hiking around the property and the proximity to the Burnett Dairy Co-op, Brickfield Brewing and other hiking opportunities. Dave, Kathy and Cooper were welcoming hosts. Can't wait for our next visit!

    Ruth2020-02-29T00:00:00Z

  • This house was awesome! Very relaxing and just what we needed. We will definitely be back and hopefully for a longer trip!

    Kristy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival we stopped at t dawgs for lunch then picked up a frozen homemade pizza from the Burnett dairy store along with some cheese and meat sticks made locally as well. Dave welcomed us on arrival and gave us many tips and trick of the area. Provided us with a useful map of the land. Place even came with coffee for the morning! We enjoyed our little weekday getaway here with ice fishing on little wood lake with our dog and a relaxing hot tub to end the night. We woke up had coffee and went to this cute little cafe for breakfast called country cafe in town. Hope to plan another trip soon! Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing get away in the woods even the dog loved it!

    Balsam Lake, WI, United States

Remote, tranquil, quiet and exceedingly private getaway right on the banks of a protected river, only 1.5 hours from the Twin Cities! Even the beautiful drive there is relaxing. Enter a world of peace and calm deep in the woods. Make delicious meals in a well stocked high-end modern kitchen, play in the river, relax in the sauna or enjoy a bonfire. This is not your typical cabin but a spiritual eco-oasis with a unique eclectic blend of modern, rustic, Native American and Japanese aesthetic.
UPDATE: We are paying extra attention to cleaning and sanitizing this space. Our housekeeper Joann takes great pride in making sure every surface is sanitized for your safety. I have also reduced the price to help those in need of a place to self-quarantine. This is the perfect getaway, remote yet accessible, to get out of harms way and stay safe for a few relaxing days! Modern yet rustic, but not at all primitive, the cabin was built not only for maximum energy-efficiency, but with much care in providing a safe, non-toxic, all-natural environment. Comfortable sleeping spaces are provided with several options including a small private bedroom, a large futon in the living room under the skylights by the wood stove, or a small futon on the screen porch by the banks of the river. An easy scenic drive from the Twin Cities and its extremely tranquil and private setting, this is the perfect location for personal retreats for artists, writers, yoga practitioners, people in the healing arts or anyone in need of personal, spiritual or artistic creative rejuvenation. This is ideally suited to singles and couples looking a quiet getaway or personal retreat. Perfect for a romantic getaway! The long winding driveway leads to secluded, heavily wooded grounds that have many Japanese garden touches but are kept in a mostly natural state. Facilities include a large well-stocked modern kitchen with 6 burner professional stove, full bathroom with hot and cold running water and claw-foot tub (there is enough hot water for a shower but not enough to fill the tub unless heated supplementally on gas stove), gas heat, electricity, phone, wireless high-speed internet, modern wood-burning stove, 7 skylights, wood-fired sauna, screen porch on the river bank, an attached wooden deck with gas grill along the river, a gazebo (great for yoga), hammock (great for reading/napping), a large fire-pit with lots of wood provided, photo library and a high-resolution audio system with a great CD collection and wireless music streaming capabilities. This forest oasis alongside a protected trout stream is surrounded by hundreds of heavily wooded acres. Enjoy the rarity of total privacy- no one else is within sight or sound. The Trade River is very clean with a nice shallow, sand bottom is perfect for swimming, wading or frolicking. Or just sunbathe on the dock, clothing optional! • All electricity is produced by solar farms and bought from our local electric co-op. • All cleaning supplies are natural, non-toxic, chemical and dye free. • All new linens and towels are organic cotton (some old ones still in use while we phase in) It is built to accommodate more than 2 people but I like to keep it available for solo retreats and couples rather than larger groups. There is also a separate hand-built log cabin on the premises. The log cabin will not be occupied during your stay but can be rented additionally at https://airbnb.com/h/authenticlogcabin. To maintain a retreat-like atmosphere we only allow one or two guests at a time. Also, due to past guest abuse, we no longer allow pets. If you are traveling with pets or have more than two guests please check out my other nearby Airbnb cabin: the Wood River Retreat https://airbnb.com/h/woodriverretreat "Retreat to move forward" -Pico Iyer
Located far off the road at the end of a long winding driveway. While lake cabins can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy; we have total seclusion on the river with no neighbors within sight or sound. We are surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest filled with many deer, fox, owl, wild turkeys, coyotes, otters, beaver, the occasional bear and much other wildlife.
  • What a beautiful place to relax and grow! Waking up to rain on the skylights, deer drinking from the river, or wild turkeys walking across the lawn, each morning brought a new connection to nature. Truly a fantastic experience!

  • It’s hard to even know where to begin, since this was one of my favorite Airbnb stays to date! Doug’s cabin is filled with thoughtful touches that helped us have a very relaxing, restful weekend. We loved cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen, listening to music on the super high quality sound system, and gazing out at the river while lounging on the cozy futon. The sauna and wood stove are a nice addition. Everything is so well-curated that it feels like home. Thanks, Doug!

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We've been visiting this cabin during the first week of March for 3 years now. Being less than a 1.5 hour drive from the Twin Cities, it's accessible in the winter no matter what the weather has in store. The space feels so cozy and clearly reflects host Doug's artistic and soulful aesthetic. The open floor plan has an oversized professional kitchen / dining room which opens up into a relaxing sitting area. This space has a wood burning stove, stereo and sweeping views of the river, the forest and the sky. This is a rustic retreat. You are going to be conscious of conserving water because of the noisy water pump and various notes reminding you of this endeavor. However, this is all part of the charm of the space. If you consider on-site compost, a wood burning sauna and calming spaces to meditate in as amenities (as we do), you're going to find a vacation spot that you'll want to return to indefinitely.

  • Beautiful and rare quiet, truly quiet, setting.

    Laura2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting in the woods on the serpentining Trade River. Cozy and full of spirit. We would love to stay again.

  • This was a wonderful get away from the business of life. Such a wonderful space to become one with nature and reconnect with ones self or a partner. The cabin was so unique with art, music and nature brought into to the space to help make one feel grounded & peaceful. I loved the extra’s like the yoga mats!! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a wonderful get away. Thank you.

    Kellie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • In a word. Perfect! Clean. Quiet. Beautiful. Spacious. Calming and relaxing. We took advantage of the beautiful kitchen. The wood burning stove. The sauna. The stereo system. Just a perfect getaway to relax. Unwind. Unplug. And get engaged. Literally. And figuratively. Thanks Doug. This was a wonderful experience.

We are a functioning vegetable farm. There is always something to see and do around here. Wild mountain is a few miles away, there are several state parks and wineries to visit. The ice age trail is nearby as are several others. Come out and discover our little piece of beauty, perhaps on your way to Duluth?
We’re on gravel roads that are very quiet.
  • This place is great! Margo is very hospitable and gave us food and coffee in the morning. We had some great tips for local sights too! Thanks!

  • Their farm is adorable! The view is amazing with farm fields, cute outbuildings and a nice trail to walk. A gem of a place in a rural area but close enough to the cities to get to quickly. We enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very attentive to any questions we had. Thank you for opening up your place to visitors.

A unique urban loft that is close to Wild Mountain; Trollhaugen; Festival Theater; the Ice Age Trailhead; Interstate Park in WI and MN; the Gandy Dancer Trail; the Woolly Mountain Bike Trail; Cyclova Bike Shop; the St Croix River; Osceola; cafe, bars, and small grocery store within walking distance.. You’ll love my place because of the high ceilings, the uniqueness, the location, & the private cafe table outside.
This is a small studio apartment with a private bathroom with toilet, vanity, and stand-up shower. The thermostat controls for the heat are in the bathroom. AC unit for the main room. There is a small kitchenette, dresser, hangers, TV, Wi-Fi, and access to a stone patio. Right off of main street in downtown St Croix Falls. Guest access You will be given an electronic keycode and instructions to use this lock system the morning of check-in. You will use this keycode to lock and unlock the main door to the apartment. You may check-in without meeting us (which is why we are flexible on check-in time) but if you need anything, we are close by and can help you with anything. Other things to note There are three apartments we rent out at the Luminaries Building so if you are traveling with others and want to stay together, please also check out the listings for The Artist's Loft and The Peacock Loft. There is also a patio that anyone can sit on and enjoy. Although we are off of Main Street, road noise is usually limited in the Copper Room but feel free to bring a fan or earplugs if very sensitive to noise - we want you to have a great sleep! This is a unique room and has exposed copper pipes (which is why it is decorated in a copper theme!) - please note that there may be small water-trickling sounds coming up the pipes (the room has 12 foot ceilings though so they are high-up) above. Do not be alarmed - this is normal. We just want you to be aware before booking so this doesn't upset you. Also, this apartment only has a small partial kitchen: Fridge, microwave, sink, and cupboards. No range/stove/oven. Plenty of room to store fresh/dry food for a weekened/week though.
In western Wisconsin, St. Croix Falls has become a destination for people who want to go places. It's the western terminus of the 1,000-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail, which traces the last glacier as it began to melt and retreat northward, leaving a marvelously lumpy patchwork of rock, rubble and river gorges. It's the southern trailhead of the 48-mile Gandy Dancer State Trail, a scenic crushed-limestone bicycle trail named for the rail workers who rhythmically swung pickaxes and hammers made by the Gandy Tool Co. And it's the headquarters of the 252-mile St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, with a new visitors center that helps paddlers plan trips from the Namekagon to the St. Croix's confluence with the Mississippi. There are another 12 trails in Interstate State Park, which became Wisconsin's first state park in 1900 and is the start of the Ice Age Trail.
  • Fun cute place! Great access to downtown and close to the state parks!

    Jenny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Copper Room is beautifully decorated and very cozy! Perfect for a weekend getaway for two. Located right in town in an old building with a lot of charm, including the steps to get up to the sidewalk and the iron gates. Just a block from the St. Croix Tavern and a few blocks away from the Crystal, both very friendly small town bars. Just a few minutes drive from Taylor's Falls and the state parks. Rhonda was a great host and very accommodating - we highly recommend!! Great place for a great value, the Copper Room is definitely worth it!!

  • Lovely property and hosts. Beautiful rural setting just a quick drive to town and a much loved coffee spot (Coffee Talk). Very accommodating hosts. Roomy, comfortable, spotless apartment. And dogs. A bit bark-y at first but they are warm up quickly.

    Eliza2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we never got to meet Maryjo on our stay, she still had everything ready for us. Great place to hang you hat after a day of hiking, wineries and breweries.

  • We had a lovely time at Maryjo's place. The unit was so well decorated, comfortable, and checked all the amenities boxes for a quick weekend stay. We were in Taylors Falls for a wedding, but continue to comment on how we would love to find a reason to come back to the area and stay here again. Highly recommend!

The large screen porch has a breakfast table and quiet lounge area perfect for watching the sun come up. There's also a gas grill conveniently located just off the kitchen and under cover making it easy to use in all kinds of weather. The outdoor wooden deck has comfy Adirondack chairs, a teak dining table with chairs and a beaurtiful view of the steep ravine down to the pristine Wood River. There is ample parking, enough for severals cars and even trailers. New forced-air gas heat and central air-conditioning throughout provides year round comfort no matter what the temperature outside. You can also fire up the indoor wood stove for the warmth and romance of a cozy fire! “Sometimes you just gotta open the door, get out, embrace the cold and take note of your surroundings.” - Mary Oliver
While being on a lake can be like being in a goldfish bowl with no privacy, our river setting has total privacy and has no other homes within sight. The cabin sits atop a beautiful ravine along the Wood River. There is a nice wide path along the top of the ravine that leads to a steep rope-lined incline down to the river, get for the adventurous to explore! The cabin is approximately 1.5 miles from the St Croix River, a Nationally designated Wild & Scenic River. Canoe and kayak rental services are available only one mile away on Hwy 70. The nearby area includes many excellent hiking, biking, and ski trails accessible to all ages. Brandt Pines is a favorite location and is just a couple miles north. Grocery stores and restaurants in Grantsburg are just a mile or two east. Crex Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary draws people from all over the country for spectacular bird watching and is just on the other side of Grantsburg. However, just staying home at the cabin around a coxy fire and chilling out or adventuring down the ravine to the river is also a great option.

Directions were easy to follow on all accounts and very thorough. The Loft itself is gorgeous, cozy, and such a little slice of paradise. For us, when we needed a weekend away, it was perfect.

  • This cabin was truly a little slice of heaven. We rented this beautiful place to quietly ring in the New Year and it was the perfect setting to do so. Amy, our host, communicated with us extremely well before, during and at the end of our stay which is greatly appreciated. The space itself is gorgeous with sweeping views of the lake, and the interior is so homey, comfortable and sparkling clean. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking, the fireplace made things warm and cozy when the weather outside was frightful, the beds comfy, and Amy goes out of her way to provide recommendations for hiking, activities, and restaurants in the area. All in all, our stay was perfect and we would love to return someday and also recommend this cabin to others in the future.

  • This home is your home away from home! It housed six of us with no problem and a little room to spare! The cute little extras like the warm house slippers, the snacks and bottles of waters were just what we needed! The beds were very comfortable and the house is sparkly clean! We were as cozy as can be and definitely would return! This is a must to check out.

    Julie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We were particularly impressed with how clean it was and the thoughtful touches throughout. Two examples we used were the hiking trail literature she had on premises, which we used to plan our hike and the little bars of soap, which I used since I forgot my shower soap. We loved the upstairs where there were two sleeping areas for us. The beds were super comfortable and we both slept really well. We loved the location and the close walk to the lake. There were several seating areas throughout with tables, lights, and blankets close by, making for very comfy relaxing time. We both commented several times how impressed we were with everything. We highly recommend it.

    Terri2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place was way better that we expected. Pictures do not tell you the story but once when you enter the house it feels cozy and relaxing. Initially we reserved the place for two nights and had to extend it for another night, that lovely was the place. We definitely recommend for a quick weekend getaway from twin cities. Host Brenda was very communicative, she was there to greet us and gave us a quick tour of the place. We would like to comeback in Summer.

    Sunil2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of sleeping space. Quiet and charming

    Cindy2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cleanliness, comfort and amenities of this cozy place make you feel like you're "at home." Brenda, Beth and Barb are wonderful hostesses! The deer and other wildlife on the property are fun to watch. Next time we'll have to come at a warmer time of year to enjoy the outdoors. Who would have expected snow on October 12th in Wisconsin!

    Anna2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • What you see is what you get! Alittle cozy cabin not far from anything!! Fully stocked house that is kept very clean. Brenda is a great host and is willing to help out anyway she can to make your stay truly magnificent :)

    Jamie2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location - farm fields, trees and a lake as neighbors. Amenities were beyond expected with items such as metal sticks for roasting marshmallows, marshmallows, paper plates, cozy blankets in the living room, movies, games, kayaks... My family and I would visit again!

    Heather2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda does a great job of explaining the house and everything in the area upon arrival. She even gave us a brief on her family's history in the area The house was everything you'd expect - plus much more. Everything was clean and in place - the house was had every amenity you would need - and the little signs around the house were able to guide you through any question. The house was the perfect place for us. The bedroom on the 1st floor was perfect for my parents, and the bedrooms on the 2nd floor was perfect for our privacy. The house had all the comforts of home, plus some very well received touches (like water, snacks, towels, maps, etc - even deer in the yard during our breakfast!!!). They really did a great job with this place. It might be my first and only time near Grantsburg - but in the chance we do return, we would definitely stay there again. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the vicinity.

    Balsam Lake, WI, United States

Just a little over an hour from the Twin Cities, this lakefront property has all you need for that perfect summer vacation. Located on beautiful Balsam Lake, this unit comes with two complete living spaces, making it perfect for large groups who want to vacation together but also want some privacy, couples looking for a romantic getaway, or business colleagues looking for a retreat. Swimming, fishing, bird watching, great walks, the Leeland cabin has it all. Memories are made at the lake!
This up and down cabin has two bedrooms upstairs and one down, along with sofa sleepers on both floors. Each level has its own kitchen, bath and living room so there is plenty of room for guests to spread out and engage in separate activities. Movies downstairs don't interfere with card games on the upper level. The two well-appointed kitchens make feeding a crew of hungry vacationers easy, and with two refrigerators, there is plenty of space to store all your food and beverages so you don't have to spend loads of time running to the store. The lower level of the cabin is level with the lake and there is a dock on the property for tying up boats, fishing and sunbathing. The upper level has a deck and there is a covered patio off the lower level. The yard is spacious and offers plenty of space for marshmallow roasts, barbecue, and lawn games.
Balsam Lake is a 1901 acre lake located in Polk County. It has a maximum depth of 37 feet. There are several public boat landings and plenty of good fishing. Fish include Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Several small towns are located near the lake, offering shopping, dining and some recreational opportunities. The museum in Balsam Lake is always a fun outing. The property is located in what is commonly known as the "Narrows" of the lake, which shelters it from wind. Mirror-like water is not uncommon on nice afternoons, making it ideal for water sports.
  • Seriously I cannot think of words that could possibly do justice to our impressions of Brad and Laura’s place. My family went over Christmas and they even had decorations out! The amenities actually shocked us and I needn’t have brought any cooking utensils or spices or pans or even coffee. Extremely well equipped is not an overstatement. If you’re on the fence, you couldn’t do any better. Cheers to Brad and Laura and many thanks.

  • There is something very special about Laura and Brad's cabin! We used it for a girls get away weekend and it couldn't have been a more perfect place. It is spacious, comfortable and the views are spectacular. It had everything we were looking for and so much more. We would book this wonderful place again without any hesitation. 5 Stars all around!!

  • What a lovely place! The lake was beautiful in the fall! The house was perfect for our 3 generation fall trip. It was much bigger than we pictured it to be and had a great layout. Coffee on the deck in the summer would be fabulous! It was very well stocked with kitchen and bathroom needs. I don't think one weekend was enough, we'll have to plan for more next time. Thanks Laura and Brad!

Beautiful 3 bedroom guesthouse in the woods only 1.5 miles from Siren. Great location for snowmobiling, atv's, fishing, lake access, local activities, why rent a hotel or two when everyone can stay together in a beautiful place to create some memories. Plenty of space to park trailers for the toys.
Our guest home was built with all the amenities you would want in a primary residence. Two bedrooms feature queen beds while the third has two large bunk beds (twin up top and full underneath). It will sleep 10 people comfortably. Great for a larger family, two families to gather, or just a large group of friends. Knotty pine floors and vaulted ceiling, stone fireplace (gas), full kitchen with sit up bar. It definitely has all the comforts of home but that cabin in the woods feel. Great place to gather and create some memories.
Is a great place to stay and play. Quick access to all the amenities of Siren and Burnett County. As well you have the ability to enjoy the woods, wildlife, and lake right at the property. You can also look on (website hidden) to learn more about our county or (website hidden) to find out about our gem of a town

  • Great find. The layout was perfect for a few families to get together and catch up on memories and life in general! Many amenities were provided so our plans to cook our meals worked out perfectly. Hosts were very fast with their response times. The kids loved the toys, games, and books. The adults loved gathering around the kitchen bar. EVERYONE loved the foosball table! Great meeting location for friends who live in Duluth and Minneapolis. We plan to come back in the summer so we can explore the waterfront and all the activities! Thank you!

  • Rhonda's place is amazing to stay at, and so is she! I was in need of a short-term rental and her place was the perfect fit. The Peacock room is set up as a cozy little apartment with a spacious kitchen and stylish touches that make you feel relaxed and comfortable. The kitchen had what we needed so we could cook with utensils and spices. It's a beautiful location right in downtown St. Croix where you can go for walks on the hiking paths, get ice cream down the street, or head to Taylors Falls which is only a 2 minute drive away. We loved having our own parking spot which was so convenient. Overall, we had a wonderful time, as we stayed for 7 weeks. Rhonda was an amazing host and made sure we had all that we needed to be comfortable during our stay. She is so thoughtful and sweet and just a wonderful person to get to know. I highly recommend staying at any of her 3 places (all locate in the same building). They are unique and will make your stay so worth it! I can't say enough good things.

  • Joan greeted us, showed us around and had everything ready for us to settle in. There wasn't anything missing or that we needed during our stay. The house was easy to find. We enjoyed our stay very much. Easy to find and so convenient to where we were staying.

  • The area was beautiful! The space was very cute and homey. The history of the family was very interesting. Justin was very nice and informative of the area. Definitely a good stay and getaway!

  • A nice place out in the country. Warm hosts and an authentic farmhouse vibe.

    Jordan2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a farm house which is rustic, has plenty of space and is clean. Overall, a lovely place! We were traveling with two toddlers however, and staying in this lovely, charming house was a bit of challenge for me as there are quite a bit of (charming) decorations including porcelain, glass and hot oil diffuser lamps. The garage/entrance area is set up as a garage sale area, with lovely items and there are vases, lamps etc. in all rooms. All these decorations add to the charm of the place(!), but it also had me stay on my toes to make sure the kids did not to break anything and/or to avoid my kids getting hurt. Usually, I have no problems traveling with kids, but this cute place proved a challenge. So, it is a great place for adults, older kids, our families with ONE well-behaved kid perhaps. But not the best choice for a family with two curious toddlers. The kids loved going for walks looking at the cows, the butterflies, the birds etc (me too). The trees and the fields and the grill was lovely. The kitchen is well stocked and communication was great. So, although it was to the best choice for us perhaps due to the stress from keeping our toddles away from all those interesting things, we did enjoy our stay in many ways.

  • It was really a great place and a private get away. Feels close to nature . Justin was really a great host

  • If you enjoy being out in the country, the Maplestead Farmhouse is the place to stay. The place was clean and very well equiped. You only have to bring food and shampoo. Even though it was hot during our stay, there were plenty of fans to keep you cool without having air conditioning.

    Steve2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint house in the countryside.

    Joshua2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Justin is a fantastic host- answered questions quickly and was always very nice. The house is cute and cozy. Tons of blankets around, games to play with the family, and a nice TV. It’s a ways away from any places to eat, but they have a beautiful full kitchen so bring some groceries for when you don’t wanna drive for meals. There’s tons to do around the house, and the drive to get to those places is peaceful and scenic. The nearby towns seemed very interesting. We really enjoyed the views from the house and hearing the cows mooing every so often!! We would love to stay again if we’re in the area, and I totally recommend this stay to anybody looking!!

  • Karen was a fabulous host that responded quickly to all messages. She went out of her way to ensure our stay was amazing. We were in town for a surprise birthday party, the bunkhouse was perfectly located and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. The bunkhouse was very cute and clean, the bed was super comfortable, and I only wish it was summertime so we could see the beautiful view of the lake. I would definitely stay at the bunkhouse again, maybe next time in the summer!

Renovated to resemble the original build over 100 years ago. Relax near the wood burning stove in the structure of shaved timbers. Hike around the creek bed on the 20 acre parcel or for the more adventurous the adjoining 50,000 acres of DNR land.
Many photo opportunities around rustic barn. Great for evening bonfire. Shooting Range for long guns or pistols. This abandoned farm is an excellent property for hunting. Please note this is a cabin, there is heated running water, but no refrigerator. Plan on bringing a cooler to keep food and beverage cold. Kuerig coffee maker is ready to go so bring your pods. There is no conventional oven, we use an electric griddle, hot plate or crockpot for cooking. These are at the property for you. There is unlimited space for setting up tents or other camping structures.
    Rural and secluded.

  • This cabin provides the perfect getaway to reset and enjoy sometime unplugged. It is a beautiful 100 year old charming cabin set on what used to be a farm. We spent time snowshoeing around the property and at Crex State Wildlife Area, stopped at the brewery in Grantsburg and did lots of reading by the fire at the cabin.

    Kari2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cozy cabin, perfect for a little getaway. The craftsmanship is wonderful, made feel a bit like you had gone back in time but with modern creature comforts. We will stay again!

  • We wanted to get away from the cities for MEA days and found this beautiful cabin on lake Largon. You can tell it's all been completely remodeled on the inside and looks like just a perfect idea of a cabin. We had a little hiccup with the heat on the first night but when we called Evolve they answered immediately and helped us right away. I would like to come back here sometime in the summer when it's warmer so that we can make use of their generously provided boats and hammock. It was a great first Air BnB experience!

  • Great cabin! Cozy fireplace, family friendly and beatiful views. It was as you would expect from the pictures. Would definitly recommand.

    Titia2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Exceeded expectations. Poor planning caused us to not bring cooking supplies, luckily the host had everything we needed already there

    Steven2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed this quiet little lake and exploring it in the kayaks and paddleboat. The dock was nice and we had a great campfire on our last night. Inside, the cabin was very comfortable for our group. We like to cook and found everything we needed in the kitchen. There are lots of games and fishing gear on the big, comfy porch.

    Audrey2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed here with my sisters-in-law and the kids. There was plenty of room for 3 adults and 3 kids. We especially loved the low-traffic driveway and local road for the kids to ride bikes. We also loved the screen porch and kayaks & paddle boats. One suggestion is to bring your own drinking water because the cabin had hard water. Great place overall! I would stay again.

    Sara2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Cozy Cabin was such a dream! We had 3 generations that stayed there and it was the best time. The lake is literally in the backyard, and it comes with the best games, amenities, and scenery anyone could ask for. We went on paddle boats, played backyard games together, and got to have the sweetest time as a big family. The beds were super comfortable and there was ample blankets, towels, cookware. It felt like our own get away house. Thank you for creating such a warm space - we will never forget our weekend away! :)

    Saba2018-10-28T00:00:00Z

  • Beautiful spot! Nicely furnished and decorated cabin. Loved the paddleboat rides we took every evening and the raft was an added bonus. Had cocktails on it one afternoon. The lake is so calm and quiet, it's like being all by yourself on a lake in the woods. Our dog loved exploring and riding in the paddleboat with us. My husband fished every morning and evening while I relaxed reading a book in the sun. Thanks, Stephanie! We were lucky to have a great host to respond quickly to any of our questions.

  • Outstanding property. Remote and comfortable. The wifi and local television helped us stay in touch and kept us apprised when the storm that hit. Stephanie and Eric are top notch hosts!! They were at the front door the morning after and made us their main priority, when they had multiple properties damaged. They went to work and cleared the driveway and allowed us to go home by the afternoon. Once again, AWESOME!!

Our cave suite is part of Minnesota's first B&B! Formerly a saloon built in 1869, this apartment/suite is complete with a large cave that once led into tunnels connecting the saloon into a brewery. While the cave no longer stores beer, it does have a luxury bath built into it, with both a whirlpool tub and a walk in shower. This suite is perfect for a romantic getaway in beautiful Taylor's Falls. Come celebrate honeymoons, anniversaries, or just because in a beautiful and unique suite.
This is an entire apartment in the Old Jail Bed and Breakfast. We are no longer able to serve breakfast, but we give each guest a breakfast voucher for the Chisago House restaurant right across the street. This apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, along with dining area, living area, studio bedroom, and of course the stunning bath.
We are in the heart of downtown Taylor's Falls. There are restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and Interstate State Park all within walking distance. There are several wineries in the area and lots of places to stroll around and take in the scenery.

We enjoyed gathering around the fireplace, morning coffee on the deck, and happy hour on the porch. The dining room offered great views of the sunrises and sunsets. • The perfect retreat for family time. The cabin has everything you need and more and is stunning!

    Amanda2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is much bigger than the pictures make it seem, it was super clean, and secluded enough to be quiet and calm. Everything was great despite it being rainy outside. Even though we didn't get to enjoy the kayaks and the lake because of the rain, it was still fun as there was plenty to do inside. The decor also made it feel very cozy.

  • Perfect getaway with plenty of space for multiple families or groups, lots of toys, games, and activities for all. The cabin is a great mix of cabin and home, comfortable, spacious, yet cozy. The house is totally stocked with anything you would need. This is our third stay and we will be back again! Location has some fun activities nearby too such as wineries and hiking. It is not on a large lake but very peaceful and quiet, and large enough to canoe or kayak. Another big plus is how close it is to the cities.

The Lodge on Pipe Lake is a spacious executive retreat roomy enough to hold a large family gathering. The Lodge is far enough away from the Twin Cities to feel "Up North", yet close enough that you can make it to the Lake during your little ones' naps.
Great Room, Kitchen and Dining Room The Lodge has an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings in the great room, yet remains a warm and inviting home away from home. The great room has access to the main deck and a smaller deck off the master bedroom. Windows line three walls of the great room looking out onto this quiet end of North Pipe Lake, making this space perfect for wild life viewing and watching the gorgeous sunsets. A field stone, floor to ceiling, see through fireplace and a baby grand piano make this room so inviting it will be hard to leave! A fully equipped kitchen, with Sub Zero appliances, is a cook's dream. A six burner stove with a built in grill and double oven allows for easy, large meal preparation. The over sized fridge is perfect for large gatherings. The kitchen and connected expansive dining room also have floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake. The dining room shares the see through fireplace and is perfect for chilly nights and long board game tournaments. However, throughout the spring, summer and fall, the protected western exposure of the main deck allows comfortable outdoor dining. Bedrooms The master bedroom, with a window wall overlooking the lake, has a private entrance to one of the three decks. Little ones can share a room right off the master suite if they need to be closer to mom and dad. A large master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower makes this a true master retreat. Need some time away from the kids? This home is the perfect place - a fully insulated walkout level allows kids to have their own space yet close off their bedrooms should they need some privacy too. A separate "parent" bedroom in the walkout level allows a second set of parents to be on that level too. Windows and patio doors allow a spectacular view of the lake even for the kids. There is a wet bar and full bath in the walk out level making this a great home for two families to share. Outdoor Spaces The yard is shaded with a combination of white and red pine as well as beautiful hard wood trees including maples and oaks. Fall colors are spectacular and memories are made around the large fire pit as you roast hot dogs and eat those tasty s'mores. Take a short stroll down the steps to the lake where a large, newer pontoon is available for rent for those sunset cruises. Afternoons are spent fishing on this walleye/bass/pan fish lake, swimming, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking or just floating in the lake. Perhaps you just want to curl up with a good book on the front screened porch to enjoy the fresh air. Later you might use the porch for a late night chat or card game should the weather not be agreeable. The kitchen and dining room exit onto the huge deck made for entertaining with a large grill and easy access to the built in hot tub. The third lower deck has a hot tub that overlooks the lake and seats eight and provides a special view of a sky without light pollution. We dare you to try to count the stars!
The Lodge is situated on one of the best lakes in the area. The cabin is on smaller North Pipe Lake which is connected to the larger and fully recreational Pipe Lake. Both are great fishing lakes, the water stays clear throughout the season and Pipe has a nice swimming beach. The area is heavily wooded and has that true "up north" feeling.
  • This cabin is very clean, beautiful, and a great retreat! The views of the lake from the hot tub and from the fire pit cannot be beat. They had basically every amenity you could think of and their welcome letter has a good amount of detail so that you can plan your packing to perfection. My friends and I had a great cozy weekend away and anyone would not regret staying here!

  • Beautiful lake home with a lot of space for large groups. Great kitchen and downstairs area and a beautiful view ! Would’ve loved coming here in the summer to enjoy a fire and the view of the lake.

  • We had an amazing time. The cabin is beautiful! The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, small appliances and pots and pans. Spent most of our time in the hot tub. The cabin is well big enough for our group of 8 adults.

  • The Lodge is a beautiful place for a winter getaway! It's large enough for people to gather over meals and conversation, but also get away for quiet reading or down time. We love cooking in the well appointed kitchen, and walking and snow shoeing on the lake. It's clean and cozy, and the hot tub is an extra treat!

  • This cabin was a home away from home. I loved the remote location and the beautiful views around it. Wildlife was abundant and the snow-covered trees were an amazing sight to see. The cabin is so beautiful and the amenities give it a luxurious touch. The hot tub was a great night cap. We spent our time with family touring the surrounding towns and cities, got in a few days of hunting at the public land just 8 minutes away, and watched netflix at night with drinks and snacks. The heat in the house works very well and the kitchen was a bonus. We made a big french toast breakfast one day and the oven worked perfectly. We cant wait to come stay again!

  • Great place to stay. We will be back!

    Tammie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect space for our group, we had 6 folks and a baby and there were plenty of bedrooms to accommodate privacy for everyone. Nice big kitchen and table for family meals and enough spots in the living room for everyone to lounge. It was an easy, fairly short, drive from the Twin Cities. They accommodated our request to check in 2 hours early which was a huge help (gotta keep that baby on a nap schedule!). Beautiful home!

  • This beautiful home will bring peace to your vacation. There is space for everyone and plenty of fun to be had. I would recommend this lovely home to anyone.

Come stay in the original jailhouse of historic Taylor's Falls! Converted into a loft apartment, this history enriched space is one of a kind. Built in 1889, it is one of the oldest original buildings in Taylor's Falls and maintains some charms of the jail... like iron bars on the main entrance and select windows! If you're gong to spend a night in jail, we'd highly recommend doing it here.
The jail is a private guesthouse off the main house of the Old Jail Bed and Breakfast, Minnesota's first B&B. While we do not serve breakfast, breakfast vouchers for the Chisago House restaurant are provided! Our suite includes full kitchen, bath, living space, and loft bedroom with two private entrances.
We are the start of downtown Taylor's Falls. There are restaurants, bars, a coffee shop, and Interstate State Park all within walking distance. There are several wineries in the area and lots of places to stroll around and take in the scenery.
  • The Old Jail was a very neat, tidy, clean and unique place to stay. Had all the necessary amenities for a week or weekend getaway. Perfect location. Walking distance to all the local restaurants and bars and parks. Larry and Taylor were excellent hosts. You won't be disappointed in staying at Old Jail.

  • Everything that we expected. We would most likely make a return visit.

  • Very comfortable and unique place to stay! We booked with only an hour notice before arrival and Taylor was great and had the air conditioning turned on full so it was nice when we arrived. Really neat building...I spent most of 30 mins just looking at how it was "cribbed" together. Bed was comfortable, living room great, and having an actual coffee maker was a real plus!

  • We stayed one night with our 4 year old to explore Taylor’s Falls in the Old Jail cottage. Check in and communication was fantastic and the place was bigger and cooler than we anticipated! PERFECT for our family of 3 and a few day stay. It had enough space for us to not be on top of each other and the bed in the loft (really felt like a second floor) had glorious air and was super cozy. Walking distance to the Main Street, food, river, gas station and other historic spots. We’d absolutely come again and will recommend to others. Exceeded expectations and a fun place to say you’ve slept in. While visiting the city we went to Fawn-Doe-Rosa, Strawberry Picking at Pleasant Valley Orchard and visited the Franconia Sculpture Park!

  • The Old Jail Airbnb was PERFECT. My best friend and I went to Taylor’s Falls for a little getaway, and it was so much fun to stay in the Old Jail! It was historical with all the modern comforts that we needed (comfortable bed, mini kitchen, modern bathroom, a/c). Taylor made checking in incredibly easy for us and was very responsive to and helpful with any questions. There was a cozy bed in the loft and a futon down in the living area. Also some old games and puzzles were fun to explore. The location was perfect - steps away from shops, restaurants, bars, convenience store, state park, historical sites, and the river tour boat launch. We will probably stay here again should we return - it was such a nice spot out of the city but only an hour drive from Minneapolis. We also went to Balsam Lake to Indianhead Supper Club for dinner, which was AMAZING and felt like stepping back in time. In summary, Taylor has made a unique and comfortable spot in a historic location - not easy to do! It has been fun telling all of my friends about our stay in the Old Jail. I wholeheartedly recommend it!
