  • I has a pleasant stay at David's house, which is separate from the owners house. Aircon, clean, and the house can accommodate up to 5 people. It's probably the best value for money in Naracoorte.

  • We had a lovely long weekend at David and Tina’s gorgeous, cosy little cottage. Plenty of thoughtful touches and rural tranquility. Our 4yo loved the farm experience. Heartily recommended!

  • Our family of four enjoyed our stay at David and Tina's place, which was a cosy cottage on a hobby farm. They were very friendly and generous hosts. The accommodation had good facilities and was a short and easy drive to Naracoort. Thank you for the local tips and letting us stay.

The Shed Bed is situated in natural bush. It is peaceful and private. We can have animals but not inside the Shed Bed. This is our personal requirement to keep the room clean for our guests, for anyone with allergies.
  • Very comfy, clean and thoughtful touches! Delicious breakfast, tea and coffee provided. Gorgeous location and the very friendly dog Mack to greet us! The place is small but definitely big enough to be comfortable

  • The location was a quiet bush setting with a kangaroo grazing on the front lawn of the house in the morning. The bed was comfortable and warm the shower very hot. The area is small but everything you need for a comfortable stay including an outdoor setting under shelter. A nice touch was the very generous supply of breakfast provisions

    Andrew2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and beautifully furnished guest house. Breakfast was provided too. Communication was quick and uncomplicated at all times. It is a bit unfortunate that no wifi was available since there is no mobile phone reception at all in the area. Other than that I highly recommend the place.

Rod was generous with extra towels, tp, and kitchen amenities for breakfast. We walked into town to a nice pub and took the creek walk which was lovely. I’d definitely book again. Wifi issues for us, but we weren’t there long enough for it to matter.

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. It's a great place to relax or use as a base to explore. The gardens are large and beautiful and my son loved the old fashioned tree swing. The breakfast provisions provided were more than enough and the little shampoos, conditioners and bath gels were very handy. We would definitely stay here again.

This secluded family accommodation retreat boasts fantastic red gum creek views in spectacular country environment. Enjoy a rural paradise just 3 Km from Naracoorte with spacious living environments, a great kitchen and outdoor living facilities including a peaceful and relaxing view. A place to unwind.
Located on the majestic red gum lined tributary of the Naracoorte Creek, this beautiful elevated property is easy to settle in to from the time you arrive. “Karinya” is the aboriginal name for"peaceful place" and our family home brings justice to its name. A stunning property to relax and unwind from a busy life, and enjoy the serenity of the bird life existing in the surrounding blooming gardens. Naracoorte is located 350km south east of Adelaide. There are plenty of attractions and things to do for all ages and interests. Only 20 minutes from the coonawarra wine region, there are always plenty of wine tours and tastings to attend. For the children, Naracoorte has a beautiful swimming lake located in the town. Of course, the biggest attraction Naracoorte is known for is its spectacular caves - a great attraction for all ages. If you're more on the active side, the Naracoorte Golf Club provides a stunning golf course and a great social environment. Of course if you're an adventurous soul, you would love the wetlands called "Bool Lagoon" - beautiful at sunrise/sunset and refreshing scenery. The township of Naracoorte is a friendly and welcoming community. With three hotels - one newly renovated and modern cuisine 'The Kingcraig Hotel" as well as various festivities such as "Taste Festival" and the Naracoorte races throughout the year, there are plenty of social events. Surrounding towns such as Mount Gambier, Penola, Robe Beach also provide fun things to do such as shopping, swimming, food and wine attractions and four-wheel-driving tracks. The property is perfectly appointed for couples looking for a retreat, older families to enjoy quality time or visiting friends and relatives, or executives seeking a relaxed environment at the end of the day. The house consists of a large open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area. The lounge area is fitted with a large flat screen TV complete with Apple TV for movies and media, an L shaped lounge, a good quality stereo system with outdoor speakers. The large colonial style windows open up to peaceful views of the gardens and creek beds which wrap around the property. Twin colonial doors open out from the living area to the patio which facilitates a quality BBQ and a large square outdoor setting, able to seat up to 12 people. The Kitchen is equipped with an island bench, providing interaction during inspired creative cook-ups with good quality appliances, a dishwasher, a gas hotplate, a fridge, an oven and microwave. Essential herbs, spices and sauces are stocked in the pantry. Sleeping capabilities at Karinya include the option of 5 bedrooms, all located across the southern side of the house, three bedrooms fitted with queen size beds and two bedrooms with two single beds. As the property is rurally located with livestock and dams in the immediate vicinity, Karinya is not set up for kids under 10 unless strictly supervised by parents. Please note, swimming in the dam is not recommended and if ignored, is at own risk. The master bedroom has it’s own ensuite facilities as well as a walk in robe. The main bathroom includes a bath and is shared for the other bedrooms. Verandahs surround the house shading all rooms and a reverse cycle air conditioner heats and cools the main lounge/dining and kitchen areas. All bedrooms contain ceiling fans. The laundry includes a front load washing machine and dryer, ample bench space and sink. Water is supplied by a 10000gallon rainwater tank which is sufficient all year round. However, we ask that guests use water conservatively to ensure the supply is capable of lasting. Cleaning is included in the price, but as with any privately owned premises we ask that the guests leave the place as they found it. Cleaning equipment is provided in the laundry cupboard. The premises are used on other occasions for business and our own private home when staying in the region so we ask that guests treat the place with respect. The combustion fire is available for use during the winter with supplied fire wood. It is very efficient and will heat the whole living room area. The gardens are watered by an automatic watering system daily during the summer months. The controllers are located in the shed which is not accessible. During the summer months the fruit trees will bear, and these consist of an apple tree, plums, nectarines and pomegranates. Guests are welcome to the fruit if it is in season.
Enjoy the serenity of the gardens and creek beds which surround Karinya.
  • Karinya is a beautiful place to stay with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the lovely view. There is an abundance of bird life as well. It is easy to locate out of town. I really liked the number of queen sized beds and two bathrooms as they easily accommodated several adults comfortably.

  • A quiet, well fitted out house for up to 10 people with a great entertaining space and close to town for supplies and close to Wineries.

  • The house is located in the most picturesque part of Naracoorte. We arrived to some welcome chocolate and crackers and the house was immaculate. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and wished we could have stayed longer. Chris went out of his way to supply a highchair for our infant making it easy for us to enjoy the stay and not worry about additional luggage. Thanks Chris!

    Trilby2019-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • A very well presented property that coped with 9 adults. We had no problems at all. The hearty breakfast provided for one day was enough for two days. A great base for trips to the Coonawarra and Padthaway.

  • A beautiful tranquil spot. Very clean and fantastic views. Host was very quick to reply to questions and the extra treats were greatly appreciated by our 10 year old.

    Cindy2019-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Chris is a great host. Very friendly, good to have a yarn with, made us feel very welcome. The property itself was awesome. We really enjoyed ourselves here. Getting up in the morning, sitting outside and soaking up the view you couldn’t get a better start to the day. We would come back to this place anytime.

    Blair2019-01-24T00:00:00Z

It’s next to the Visitor Information Centre car park and a short walk from Naracoorte Community Playground, Lions Pioneer Park and the centre of town – you can walk along MacDonnell Street or take the Naracoorte Creek Walk. The open kitchen/dining room seats eight at the timber table and two leather sofas – great for casual eating and chatting over meals, drinks and snacks. There’s a cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, cookware, cutlery, crockery and glasses plus a plasma TV and DVD player. The intimate sitting room has sofas and TV/DVD. The large master bathroom has a double shower, double vanity, two-person spa and WC – and has proved very popular with honeymooners. There’s also an ensuite bathroom with shower, WC and double vanity; and a smaller bathroom with shower, WC and vanity. MacDonnell House has ducted reverse cycle air conditioning so you can adjust the heating or cooling to suit your comfort level. The back verandah is fully enclosed and includes a self-contained laundry with washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board; and the open front verandah faces a rose garden and the street. MacDonnell House is on a residential street, an easy 1.5km walk from the centre of town, and has a pleasant garden of mainly native shrubs and roses. A rear driveway leads to a double carport, providing undercover parking for two vehicles and also serving as a sheltered area for the barbecue. MacDonnell House is one of six properties owned and run by Naracoorte Cottages. Richard Peake and Judy Barton established this “people friendly” Bed and Breakfast business in 1995 and have welcomed thousands of satisfied guests from South Australia, interstate and overseas.

  • When we met six people on the road, we found this house. The house is like a garden. The house is warm and hospitable and ready to be meticulous. It was a very good stay experience. The facilities are well equipped and in good condition. The room was clean and tidy.

  • This is the best Air Bnb I've stayed in to date! A beautiful heritage house with a tasteful modern interior, large outdoor undercover area, rose garden and amazing bathroom with a huge spa bath! Located walking distance to the shops and about a ten minute drive from the caves. A comprehensive array of tourist information and maps was provided. Our host Richard generously provided breakfast for us, with careful attention paid to our dietry requirements. Thank your so much and we hope to stay here again!

  • The only problem I have with this cottage is it’s sometimes booked out because it’s so good. If you know Richard and know Naracoorte Cottages then you know the high standard and value for money that you expect from any of his 5 cottages. Why would anyone stay in a hotel when you get all this.

    Kerryn & Darren2018-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Character filled cottage, Quiete location , plenty of offstreet parking includeing large trailers, walk to centre oftown

  • My friend and I stayed for a weekend and were pleasantly surprised on how well set out this Airbnb is. We loved the large rooms with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen. We made use of the veradah with views over the township and enjoyed all the thoughtful touches and amenities that were provided. We would definitely recommend this listing and think the photos don't do the house justice!

  • A feeling of home. My husband and I were so impressed with the entire stay. Only minutes drive from Naracoorte’s town centre and such a picturesque setting. From the moment you enter the unit it just feels like home. Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated with everything you could possibly need. Breakfast outside every morning listening to the wrens, magpies and parrots, looking over to the vineyard watching the kangaroos go by. Do make sure you take the time to chat with Carol as she is such a lovely lady & gracious host. We will definitely be back.

  • Thank you so much for opening up the blue wren cottage to us. We had a lovely stay, your cottage was a delight, and perfect for our weekend. Lovely touches and warm hospitality too. Gorgeous part of the world, and your cottage a real gem. Could not have been happier honestly. Big thanks for all that you do for your guests!

    Shelley2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Blue Wren unit is situated closest to the road and can get noisy if there is a lot of heavy truck traffic. Otherwise, the unit is very comfortable and the garden is superb.

    Kristine2018-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Well appointed, clean, bright and perfect for our needs. Great property and very generous with kitchen basics, breakfast and bathroom accessories.

    Peter2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • I doubt you will ever find anything as comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished as Carol's. The attention to detail is exquisite and the breakfast offering is beyond compare. And the Blue Wren cabin we stayed is larger than most suburban homes. Even if you are not passing directly through Naracoorte you will not be disappointed by a detour. Thoroughly recommend. Very quiet, wake up to the birds chirping every morning and the sheep in the paddock. It is the perfect place to come and stay for some peace and quiet at the end of a big day doing all the touristy things. Its very family friendly and children always have a good time here joining our children to 'feed the chooks' or to go for a walk.
  • Mel and her family are lovely and offer a clean comfortable place to stay in a convenient location. Great breakfast provisions and very quiet. So good staying on a farm away from the crowds. Will definitely stay here again. Melissa.

  • Outstanding hospitality by Mel and family! Mel has very clear, prompt and detailed communication. We were invited to dinner and enjoyed it so much that we invited ourselves back for dinner the next day. The farm tour was also very informative and educational for us city slickers. We got to see sheep shearers in action, accompany Mark (Mel's hubby) on a sheep herding run, and sampled their home-made sausages and burgers. Personally the location and the accommodation do not stand out, but Mel and her lovely family made this into such a memorable experience, that this is quite possibly our favourite AirBNB stay we've ever had. Value for money wise, it's actually pretty good overall. I was looking for a good value place to stay and certainly wasn't expecting such a fantastic experience overall. As icing on the cake, while there is no AC advertised (or permanently installed), Mel very thoughtfully had the portable A/C set up and running full blast for us on a 40-degree day, ensuring we never had to bear with the heat. For travellers seeking an authentic Aussie farmstay experience, those who love animals, outdoors, and warm hospitality. Not for those who need to be near the shops or need posh luxury accommodation. (we'll see you again one of these days!)

  • Mel and Mark’s farm is easy to locate on Google Map. We didn’t come in the best time of a year as the weather was wet and cold, but Mel still managed to show us the farm as much as she could. Her hospitality and considerate arrangement made our stay cosy and delightful. We love having the outdoor barbecue, and my daughter definitely had a memorable experience of getting close to the sheep. will come back again in a better season.

  • What a fabulous and welcoming host! After driving for 12hours, I could not have asked for a better welcome. Beds were made with soft towels laid out, food in the fridge. Host came over to greet me from the office. Air con made sleeping delightful in the 40deg C temperatures. Highly recommend staying here and we were also provided with sights of interest brochures so we could explore the local area with ease.
