Places to stay in Loretto
This space is a loft above a three stall horse barn (with horses in it!). There is a queen size bed, fold out couch, and single rollaway bed available. The loft is furnished with a large harvest table and chairs, and a cozy relaxing couch. It is an open concept design with room for up to four guests. The farm is a working livestock and organic mixed produce farm with picturesque views, miles of wooded trails, and a beautiful fish pond. PLEASE read description carefully.
Guests can access a refrigerator, microwave, sink with hot and cold water downstairs and upstairs a bathtub and toilet separated from the loft by a curtained alcove. Although the space downstairs is shared with horses, the upstairs is a private room all for our guests and the friendly barn kitties, Minx and Lynx. A Bale and Breakfast option is available for you and your equine friend. We are happy to accommodate you and your horses for an additional charge. The farm is located about ten minutes north of Palgrave, conveniently close to the equestrian venue. Guests are welcome to visit our tiny farm gate store. We sell eggs, dairy, meat, seasonal vegetables, soaps, honey, syrup, and jams among other items. If we haven't got what you need, we can probably send you right up the road to another farm that has. Thank you for buying from and supporting small farms!
Close to Tottenham, Orangeville, Alliston, and Beeton. We highly recommend Broadway in Orangeville for its many excellent restaurants and fun little shops. Tottenham Steam Train is a family favourite with real working antique locomotives and passenger cars. Hiking trails abound in the area, with Mono Cliffs Park being a short drive away.
  • Amazing! I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. With the amazing addition of the animals below the loft, it makes for such a unique experience. We will definitely be back for a second time and can’t thank the hosts Deborah and Eric enough for having us! They also allowed us to bring our 3 dogs which made the vacation for us. Awesome when you can bring the whole family!!

  • Deborah And Eric Provided great hospitality and a great unforgettable experience! The barn was very clean and the bed was very comfortable and it was nice to get away from Tv and Wifi ! The animals are are so cute and friendly! Try the great sausages they sell on site as well they were very tasty.

  • The experience, hosts and animals were amazing! Eric was so delightful and helpful. Very outgoing and always offered stories about their initiatives as farmers and animal owners that made me love them even more. Deborah was so sweet and came to meet us, even though she was sick, with a bottle of wine and great conversation. We were able to explore the property and have a bon fire in the afternoon. The animals were accessible to us at any time. The piglets were great composters and I just fell in love with Raider the horse and all the goats! Raider is so sweet and loves to be groomed and scratched. I wish I got up early enough to take him for a ride. That is one thing I regret the day we left. Having said that, the bed and loft is so comfy you can't help but sleep in. The goats were such a lovely surprise and when you go into their stall they all come great you and sniff you and sit forever wanting scratches and love. I definitely recommend grabbing some food from their little store for the bbq. The sausage was SOOOOO good and we left with some pork chops I can't wait to share. The record player was also a great surprise and lovely touch. I will be back for sure and recommend this experience and place to all!!

  • Deborah and Eric are both exceptional hosts and incredible humans. This is the second time that we've stayed at the farm and we are very impressed by their care and commitment to building a vibrant communal space. The farm is lovely and our city dog Humber got a chance to interact with goats, pigs, and horses that brought her both joy and fright! We had a lovely walkabout the farm which extends into wooded pines and had a great couple of evenings puzzling, planning, and committing to a new decade!

    Craig2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Deborah's farm was excellent. Everything was as described and in fact even better! They've done a great job of figuring out how to provide for everything you need, all within a working barn, and were nearby for any questions we had. Being near the animals was great for the kids that were part of our visit, and we enjoyed walks on the woods trails. It's also great that this rural experience is such a close drive from the City!

    Jordana2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn’t have been happier with our stay! It was everything we’d hoped and exactly as advertised. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and in fact, I’m hoping I will!

    Shane2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a special experience you can't find anywhere else & our favourite getaway! It was an easy drive from Toronto and so interesting to get a glimpse of living away from the city. We loved meeting the horses, goats and pigs. We also loved playing with the barn cats and minx followed us around everywhere! The barn was super clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed 1 night but wish we stayed longer!! As everyone else mentioned in the reviews, Deborah is so lovely and gave us a wonderful tour ;)

  • Trish and Gary are amazing hosts and the space is very well equipped with everything I needed. It’s bright, very spacious and with a view of the farm and horses. Checkin was very easy and communication was never an issue. Definitely recommend this stay :)

    Elisha2018-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Trish and Gary were amazing. The home was clean , stylish and comfortable. We arrived with 4 dogs so the doggie door was a big plus. The property is beautiful and is a perfect retreat for city folk. Ours was not a vacation stay but plan to go back again when we can enjoy some of the many equine programs Trish runs at the farm. Thank you again Trish and Gary.

    Pamela2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Trish was very nice and helpful the place is amazing for relaxing and getting out of big city traffic everything was great 👍

    Rand2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great hospitality, very clean, nice place. Excellent communication by owners.

    Kathryn2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Trish and her husband are such sweet hosts, we’re so lucky that they were able to accommodate us (as booking was super last minute.) The space is very warm and welcoming, we stayed up late chatting & playing cards (there’s no tv). We genuinely had such a good time on their farm! It was exactly what we needed - a trip away from the city. I only wish we had given ourselves more time to explore the property but woke up a little later than intended (couldn’t roll out of bed because it was so comfy). We’ll definitely have to make another trip back as we didn’t have time to do the activities with staying at their retreat! Loved meeting their animals, be sure to pick up a carton of eggs before you leave! Such a refreshing stay. Can’t wait for our next visit! L & K P.S. for anyone who’s booking and looking for food, there’s a restaurant open late just down the street, we recommend their tomato soup & wings :).

Our beautiful cottage is located on 27 acres of land. Which is very secluded and quiet. Open concept cottage , with a loft bedroom with a double bed, a double sofa bed and a single folding bed. Wood burning fire place and a Small area with a hot plate , microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker , small fridge , BBQ on the porch. Swimming pond Vegetable garden and honey bees. Beautiful wooded trail No smoking Kids are welcome
We are five minutes to hockley store. And fifteen minutes to the resort. The cottage was built with parts of an old church. Wide pine boards, and eight foot windows. It's an open concept space with a loft bedroom. Extremely bright and airy. The cottage can accommodate four guests comfortably with 2 double beds one is a pull out sofa bed. There is also a single folding bed for a fifth guest. We are surrounded with trails. We have a swimming pond which has fresh spring water running through it. It also freezes for winter skating. The property is located on a very quiet 27 acre land. Which is conveniently located next to another hundred acres of county forest. Your chances of spotting wild animals are very good. Bring your snow shoes or cross country skies for a very secluded adventure. Or your bathing suit, for a fresh dip in a natural swimming pond. Our water is drinkable. It's spring fed deep well water. We are 25 minutes to orangeville. 20 minutes to Alliston, where you would find one of the oldest Movie Theatre around (circle theatre). Many lovely restaurant to explore. Besides the wood stove, there is baseboard heating in the cottage. Not have to worry about heating if you choose not to start the wood stove. Also for the adventurous ones..... there is a flying club near by which offers gliding, my personal favourite, called great lakes gliding club. Amazing service and much fun. There is an old barn on the property with many small log sheds, it makes for a photographer's dream
This is where you go to find beauty. No noise or light pollution. Your cell phone will barely work. So no reason to bring work with you. Tell everyone one you are off the grid and unreachable for a few days. Tell them you are actually going to give your well-being a boost.
  • A magical place. Unique, simple and lovely cottage with beautiful large windows looking out on a magnificent, forested property with much to explore. Gracious and welcoming hosts. A wonderful place to reflect, restore, renew and reconnect with nature.

  • This is our second time back: it's a perfect (and perfectly-equipped) cottage on a beautiful property.

    Blair2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our visit so much! It was a charming space, and beautifully clean and kept. Fere was an attentive and kind host, and there were lots of little things to love about our weekend, like the little wood stove and the fluffy throw blankets everywhere. We absolutely loved our visit and we look forward to the next time!

    Abbie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Fere’s cottage. It’s a beautiful structure, built with love by a highly skilled artisan. Frere and her partner have furnished it tastefully and outfitted the place with cosy, high-quality bedding. Our family of four found it very comfortable. The property is gorgeous, with great hills for tobogganing, well-kept trails through the forest, and gardens that are no doubt lovely in the summer! It's close to the Hockley Valley and Mono Cliffs conservation areas - both incredible hiking destinations. And Frere and family are consummate hosts! We couldn't have asked for a better site for our pre-Christmas getaway.

    Evan2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The best part of this Airbnb experience was the host herself! Fere and her family were very friendly and helpful. The property itself is huge and there is a lot of space to explore. The cabin was cute and rustic and hand everything we needed. One of the best Airbnb experiences ever!! Do not hesitate to book you won’t regret it !!

    Lena2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cosy little house, in the middle of open fields; perfect for a romantic getaway! Fere and her family were very nice and welcoming, available when we needed but always respecting our privacy. She had very good advice as to what to do in the area. I highly recommend! Thank you again Fere & family it was a real pleasure to meet you!

  • What a beautiful place on beautiful land. The cottage is warm and lovely - perfect for chilly late November nights. This was a true reprieve from work. Location is great - lots of walking trails just out the door and it’s easy to get to Mono Cliffs for a day hike. Can’t wait to return.

    Liz2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • I was lying in bed on our first morning at this magical cabin, looking up dates to come again. By the time we left, we had booked two more weekends. This cabin, this property -it's heaven. The cabin is both bright and airy while still feeling like a cozy little pioneer house. You can see stars lying in bed. There is lots of space to ramble and wander and explore in the many trails and lovely country roads. While the cabin is quite near the main house, it feels totally private (no doubt more so with leaves on the trees). Fere's warmth and energy and passion for her home are so beautiful - she is a very special host. Rent this amazing space while you still can: I am planning to move in there asap!

  • Thanks a lot for being such great hosts. Fere is exceptional at hospitality. She added a personal touch to everything. The place was cute and cozy giving you the victorian era feel. The food she cooked for us was delicious. We will definitely come back for the stay. Thanks for having us.

  • We had an amazing time at Fere’s Bed and Breakfast . It was such a beautiful home sitting on a gorgeous property. We would love to visit again in the near future. Fere you are a super accommodating and kind host. The B&B was perfect in every way right down to the beautiful decor. The cleanliness was immaculate. We felt like we travelled back in time to the original time of the farm house. Bedrooms were extra cozy, the dining room where we enjoyed a delicious meal was extraordinary, sitting area was truly relaxing and the claw foot tub took all the stress away. The amazing breakfast that awaited us each morning was super delicious. Fere is passionate about everything and her positive energy is so contagious that we didn’t want to leave!! We had everything we could’ve possibly needed and more. If we wanted privacy she gave it to us and if we wanted company she was always there to share wonderful stories. Her family is so lovely and welcoming that we felt like we were visiting our own family. Fere went above and beyond our expectations! We recommend you stay here to recharge, relax, enjoy the company and take a slice of heaven back home with you. We have definitely made some new friends. Thank you for everything! Lina&Sarah

  • We had a wonderful stay at Fere’s place. The rooms are exquisite and extremely well appointed. The claw-foot tub is heavenly (the soft well water makes for a truly luxurious bath experience). The food is beyond fabulous. Fere is an amazingly kind a dedicated host who works very hard at creating the best experience for her guests. I would recommend a stay at Fere’s to anyone looking to feel pampered and to reconnect with nature.

Beeberry Cottage is a homey little off-grid log cabin set in the woods of our 100 acre working farm. You can live the pioneer life here. Tend your very own flock of chickens, eat fresh produce from your garden. Cook your meals on your own tiny woodstove. Spend your time wandering miles of serene wooded trails, feeding the horses, and fishing off the dock. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING
The cabin is 8 X 12 feet and has an attached 10 X 12 foot covered gazebo for your outdoor enjoyment. It is quite a small and cozy space. There is a tiny wood stove inside for use during colder months to heat the cottage. The toilet is an outhouse, still a common feature on farms in this area. The friendly animals at your cabin are for you to meet and enjoy. The chickens lay fresh eggs for you daily. The little garden at the cabin is for you to sample seasonal fresh vegetables and fruits. For summer cooking, you may prefer to use the BBQ. You can also use the fire bowl for cooking, heating water, and enjoyment. Please use the spark guard when using the fire bowl and do not burn if there is a burn ban in effect (we will give you that information if the Township announces it) Please pay careful attention to details about fire safety before using any of the features. Water is available via jugs which are refillable at any of the farm water fountains. It is cold, clear, fresh water from our well. The taste can be somewhat mineral for people who are unaccustomed to well water.
  • Both hosts were amazing and quick to reply and give any recommendations in the area. We absolutely loved our stay in the cabin and would recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway from it all.

  • Perfect little cabin. Privacy in the forest only 45 mins away from toronto. All by your self in nature. Great host. Delicious eggs. Cute farm. Lots of wood!

    Konstantin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was what I needed for a break from a crowded city life, well located and cosy, there were pretty much everything you’ll need in the cabin and more

    Saman2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at the cottage for a little Valentine’s Day retreat. The hosts are absolutely lovely and took the time to show us around the property and how to heat the cabin using the wood burning stove. The cottage was so beautiful - small but incredibly cozy and romantic. The animals on the property were also adorable and fun to interact with. I would highly recommend getting out of the city and spending a night in the wilderness away from your cell phones and closer to your loved ones. As long as you’re comfortable starting a basic fire (we were provided with all of the materials necessary) this is the place for you!

    Selina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this spot! It is very private and rustic. Must be comfortable without electricity or heat but if you are open to an outdoorsy adventure, this a fantastic space to get away from the busy city and enjoy nature. Deborah and Erik were amazing hosts and ensured that we had clean drinking water, coffee, and tons of firewood to stay warm by the fire throughout the night. Tons of hiking paths and the ability to say hello to the animals. It was fantastic!

    Amanda2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful space. First of all I want to note how amazing and accommodating Deborah was, giving us information about property, the area and the checking in process, before we even arrived. Her and her furry friend Truman the dog showed us around the farm when we arrived, and made sure we knew we had free range to walk around to explore the farm and hiking trails that run through it. The cottage itself is the perfect size for a couple looking to remove themselves from the busy city life to relax in what feels like, the middle of nowhere. The cottage is heated with a small wood burning stove, Deborah also provided us with a basket of kindling/smaller sticks and a stock pile of wood to use during our stay. We were so cozy, and warm all through the night. Before we left, my partner and I decided it wouldn't before we stayed at the Beeberry again.

    Tanya2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful hosts, unique space, every thoughtful touch you can imagine. The property is beautiful. My only regret is not spending more than one night at the cottage. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this stay to anyone who is looking for a step back from the hustle and bustle.

    Arielle2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Just a short drive outside of Toronto, but it felt like a true get away being in nature. The cabin has everything you need, and we loved the farm and Deborah’s farm store with the most delicious pickles. Definitely a must go! It would be a dream to go back there again :)

Welcome to Above Hockley House located in the heart of Hockley village. Our rooms reflect inspiration we have found in art, nature, travel and a hint of Canadiana, each room is individually numbered and comes with its own key. We live on site, but separately from the guest suites. Hockley House can accommodate up to 8 guests, this is Room 3 Queen and is one of four room options; please visit our other listings which include, a twin room, second queen, and King with private ensuite.
When reserving Room 3 you will enjoy a fully equipped kitchen shared with other guests, three-piece shared bath, separate coded entry, sunny deck with hot tub, BBQ, use of the backyard and ample parking. All four of our guest rooms are located on the second floor, and while we welcome children, we are by no means child proof. There is also a friendly resident Bernese Mountain Dog called Hudson you might see in the back acre! Hockley House has been a country home, local shop, inn and restaurant. We live on-site and are working to resurrect it's culinary bones by bringing a restaurant back to the village of Hockley.
Above Hockley House is located in the centre of Hockley village, only an hour away from Toronto. We're is less than 5 kms from the Hockley Valley Resort with golf and skiing, the Adamo Winery, and on the doorstep of the Bruce Trail network and some of the best forest bathing; we're a 20 min. drive to the Mansfield Ski Club and Outdoor centre; 13 km from the Caledon Equestrian Park, 10 min. drive to the Mono Cliffs, and there's line dancing 6 kms away at the Loretto Tavern. Hockley, a mere 200 yards away from the Nottawasaga River, is a hub for motorcyclists and performance cycling enthusiasts and is home to the much celebrated Hockley General Store (with LCBO) - great breakfast! - thanks Roger. If you're up for a wedding and feel like a spa day, Arevella's Spatique is right next door. We keep a "no pets" policy but if you're travelling with a furry friend, the Red Barn Pet Resort is 2 km up the town line. I'm sure we've missed some things, but that's for you to discover!
  • Natasha and Sean are fantastic hosts. Had an absolutely wonderful time. There was even a bottle of maple syrup waiting for us when we arrived. Nice quiet spot for a relaxing vacation. Used the hot tub a few times and played with their dog Hudson who is a very loveable dog.

    Natasha2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Natasha and Sean's place was great for our little getaway. The house is stylish and functional. The hot tub was a really nice extra that made our night extra enjoyable. Would stay again.

  • Natasha & Sean’s place was very cozy and stylish! would definitely recommend and will for sure be coming back in the future!

  • Place was lovely. I was in town for a wedding. Clean, comfy and cozy. Would highly recommend to those venturing into the area

    Martin2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. Will definitely be back if we are in the area. It’s a cute town and they are spectacular hosts! Clean and decorated beautifully.

    Kelly2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a nice surprise! Very comfortable bed, stylish space, thoughtful touches. Well equipped kitchen. Good value. I highly recommend this place!

    Christine2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you have the chance definitely stay here! Natasha and Sean are extremely responsive and hospitable. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to explore the area, but Natasha and Sean provided amazing recommendations that I can't wait to come back and try out. The location is great and so peaceful. I can't say enough nice things about my stay.

    Kendall2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Don't miss this lovely spot! Natasha and Sean are wonderful hosts. We were looking for a quick getaway and were so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. We are west enders and the trip to Hockley Vally is very quick - amazing to feel so deeply in the country and nature so quickly. You can arrive empty handed on a Friday night - a total bonus if it is hectic getting out of town - and still put a classy weekend together for yourself. We did a quick shop for wine/beer and excellent groceries at the Hockley Valley General Store before we checked in. We also grabbed dinner there on Saturday night and it was delicious. The rooms at Above Hockley are GORGEOUS. Natasha and Sean have an amazing eye and it was a total pleasure to be in such a pretty place. (Spotting all the unique touches around the house was really fun.) There is still lots of work for them to do on the restaurant space itself (which is totally seperate from the guest suites) but I can only imagine how inviting and stylish it will be when they're done. We used the communal kitchen (for guest only) lots. It is well stocked with all that you need to cook properly. The dishes are all carefully chosen and were so nice to use! The hiking was great. You can even swim in the river from the access across the road. We didn't expect that at all...We will definitely be back to enjoy the fall colours!

  • Beautiful place, great location!!! But to use the hot Tub was an additional $20 per person. Not a big deal, just wasn’t informed until just before using it. Other then that it was really great, and many things to do and games!

We had to book accommodation very quickly and were relieved that Julie responded immediately so that we could firm up our plans. She also was very gracious in allowing a slightly later checkout due to an unexpected situation. We would highly recommend this townhouse.

Welcome to Casa Malbec ! The forest is a backdrop ideal for relaxing & being one with nature. Enjoy walking through the trails, catch some rays by the pool, BBQ under the sun or stars, watch a movie on the HD projection screen, relax in the sauna, read a book by the tranquil fish pond/waterfall or sip a glass of wine and relax by the fire pit. With numerous activities to enjoy year round, this is a perfect getaway.
With over 3,000 sq feet, this beautiful sanctuary is truly one-of-a-kind! Enjoy the serenity of nature during the day and the beautifully star-lit sky at night. Casa Malbec sleeps a maximum of 11 people. The home has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Four bedrooms (2 King Masters and 2 Queen Bedrooms) are located on the main level, while the bunk beds (1 Double and 1 Twin) are located in the lower level. The home is equipped with multiple TVs with Shaw Large Package, Wi-Fi (25 Mbps/1Mbps - streaming is not supported/no videos/downloaded Netflix only), a large HD projection screen with over 175 movies to choose from, an air hockey table, a number of board games, sauna, elliptical, and spa-like bathtubs. Outdoors you will be able to barbecue, take a dip in the pool, have a fire, snowshoe, take a walk in Lola’s Forest and much much more. Casa Malbec has a fully equipped kitchen with all the gadgets you could ever need. Guests are welcome to the coffee and tea found in Casa Malbec. Toiletries are provided including towels, linens, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is a blow dryer and hair straightener for use during your stay. It is recommended you bring additional pool towels. Casa Malbec is beautifully decorated with artwork by one of its owners, Adelia Gonzalez. The unique pieces are a reflection of the recovery process following a stroke Adelia suffered in 2007. At the age of 45, the massive stroke left her with paralysis on her dominant hand and aphasia (impairment in language). After the stroke, Adelia chose to embraced the frustration of communication deficits and rechanneled it into her work in a new way, revitalizing her art which is currently displayed throughout Casa Malbec. Why Casa Malbec? Well, we are from Argentina and Malbec is an Argentinian staple. It is full-bodied red wine that grows mostly in Argentina. It is known for its plump, dark fruit flavors and smoky finish. To better appreciate Casa Malbec, you will be welcomed with a bottle of our namesake, Malbec, to enjoy during your stay.
Adjala-Tosorontio is borders Tottenham. When visiting Tottenham, Ontario, you’ll likely get the sense that something is different here. With a mixture of friendly faces, strong roots, and beautiful scenery, the village seems to inspire a relaxed, slower pace of life, inviting one to slow down, enjoy the view and appreciate the simple and most important things that life has to offer. To those who live in the area, these important things include nature, heritage, and community. A tight-knit and caring group, residents are always ready to lend a hand and support one another, even holding a group hug event dubbed the ‘Totten-hug’ in downtown Tottenham - the heart of the village. The natural beauty of the outdoors is another important piece of Tottenham’s unique composition. The Tottenham Conservation Area provides residents and visitors with a picturesque getaway and an opportunity to explore and appreciate the great outdoors. Offering camping facilities, fishing, canoeing and nature trails, it’s also home to an abundance of wildlife that includes blue heron, red foxes, groundhogs, and many different species of birds. Railway enthusiasts will be interested to know that much of Tottenham’s history was influenced by trains and railways. In fact, the construction of a railway by the Hamilton and North-Western company through the village was responsible for increasing the population of the area to approximately 700. Not only did the railway create growth in the village, it also helped to encourage industrial growth with the establishment of the foundry and the Coleman Fare-Box Company.
  • Beautiful home. A lot of space. Great amenities. We we all very comfortable. Thank you for sharing such a great spot!

    Gary2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the PERFECT home for our family long weekend getaway. It is a gorgeous, spacious, comfortable, very clean, well-stocked, beautifully located, expertly managed property. Our party of 11 (8 adults and 3 children) easily shared the space and there was something for everyone: boardgames, air hockey table, fire pit, huge yard for soccer, frisbee and badminton (which we brought), walking trails, sauna, AMAZING pool with inflatable toys and a great kitchen to cook in. Maria is an excellent host and she has covered everything you need to know about the house in a very informative house manual. So helpful. You know the property is well cared for and maintained with the utmost professionalism and respect. There is a mention that the cell reception isn't great, but that wasn't an issue for us at all (we are on Rogers/Fido). The WIFI is very slow (which isn't an issue if you want to "unplug" during your stay), but if you intend to stream some films in the amazing screening room downstairs, make sure to bring your own DVDs or USB sticks or download your films beforehand. There is also a DVD library there. This might be more of an issue during the winter, cause in the summer we spent each night out by the fire and didn't watch anything! I highly recommend this place and I hope to bring the family together again for an amazing, relaxing, restorative and luxurious stay at Casa Malbec.

    Tamara2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed staying at Maria’s place she is very organized and detail oriented. She was very considerate of all the necessary accommodations and she went above and beyond my expectations as a host. The place was very clean & I anticipate to return one day.

  • Maria’s place was beautiful, clean, and spacious. My family and I spent an amazing time there this week specially at the bonfire and the heated pool. Thank you Maria!! Great place to relax and spend quality time with family!! Manny

    Manuel2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything we expected and more! The listing and pictures were very accurate. Beds were very comfortable and the place was very spacious and clean. Bugs didn't seem to be an issue at all given the amount of open space in the backyard. Used the pool and pool floaties the entire weekend and found the kitchen had everything we needed including ample space to prep and cook food. The bottle of Malbec wine was very much appreciated. Thank you Maria!

Our luxurious Nottawasaga River Retreat (located in the Hockley Valley) offers a relaxing, rustic retreat, set into a beautiful woodland area with a deep valley at the foot of the back deck.
Just yards from the retreat lies the Nottawasaga River – a naturalist and trout fisherman’s paradise. The Notty (Nottawasaga River) runs directly through the boundaries of our 77 acre private, secluded, forested property. The Nottwasaga River Retreat is perfect for quiet, relaxing family getaways. The retreat villa itself has a rustic feel but is an entirely modern living enclosure with all the necessary amenities.
  • We had a wonderful stay! The property is beautiful and the views are unmatched. The house itself is also very beautiful, warm, clean, and inviting with many comforts and amenities. Our host was gracious and very helpful. He was available to answer any questions and ensured we had an enjoyable weekend. Would highly recommend and would love to return!

    Natalie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our group had a lovely time at this listing this weekend! The house had ample space in the common areas to spend time together, and the multiple bedrooms allowed plenty of privacy for several couples. We enjoyed taking a snowy walk down by the river - hard to see trails in the snow, but still fun to explore! Riyad, the manager for the property, was very prompt in replying through AirBnB messages and while we had no further communication, we had no need to: check in with the lockbox went smoothly and everything we needed (towels, etc) was easy to find. We were able to connect a laptop to the TV, and the WiFi was great for streaming. Kitchen was fully stocked. Overall, an excellent place to stay in and get cozy!

    Katrina2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Nottasawaga River Retreat. A very spacious place, with great amenities and wonderful surroundings with the valley down below and the river running through it. A perfect place for Nature Connection, meditations, yoga or to simply relax. The hosts were very accommodating and accessible. Communication was great and check-in/check-out very smooth. Definitely recommend it and looking forward to our next stay!

  • We had a lovely stay at this AirBnb. It was amazing to have a river that runs right in the back of the property. Nice outdoor view of the forested area and river from the outdoor deck. We had more than enough space for our group. The weeds/tall grass in the back could’ve been kept a bit better, but not a big deal. It was a nice, quiet retreat with friends!

Welcome to Above Hockley House located in the heart of Hockley village. Our rooms reflect inspiration we have found in art, nature, travel and a hint of Canadiana, each room is individually numbered and comes with its own key. We live on site, but separately from the guest suites. Hockley House can accommodate up to 8 guests, this is Room 1 King with en-suite and is one of four room options; please visit our other listings which include a twin room and two separate queens, all with shared bath.
When reserving Room 1 you will enjoy an elegant private en-suite, fully equipped kitchen shared with other guests, separate coded entry, sunny deck with hot tub, BBQ, use of the backyard and ample parking.
We're less than 5 kms from the Hockley Valley Resort with golf and skiing, the Adamo Winery, and on the doorstep of the Bruce Trail network and some of the best of forest bathing; we're a 20 min. drive to the Mansfield Ski Club and Outdoor centre; 13 km from the Caledon Equestrian Park, 10 min. drive to the Mono Cliffs, and there's line dancing 6 kms away at the Loretto Tavern.
  • Great stay with great amenities and everything is so clean! Don't forget your bathing suit! The hot tub is a great added touch!

  • Wonderful unique place and location for a getaway- terrific response rate and hosting from Allan. With a friend visiting from overseas we did a short vacation at this converted barn and it's a bit of magic. Everything you need - it's an attractive yet comfortable barn/home, you can do easy nature walks and nature attractions/provincial parks and small shops are nearby in local villages. Would go again, I imagine it's fantastic in all seasons - we had a bit of fall and winter mixed together. Thank you Allan

We live on-site and are working to resurrect it's culinary bones by bringing a restaurant back to the village of Hockley.
Above Hockley House is in the centre of Hockley village, only an hour away from Toronto. We're less than 5 kms from the Hockley Valley Resort with golf and skiing, the Adamo Winery, on the doorstep of the Bruce Trail network and close to some of the best forest bathing ; we're a 20 min. drive to the Mansfield Ski Club and Outdoor centre; 13 km from the Caledon Equestrian Park, 10 min. drive to the Mono Cliffs, and there's line dancing 6 kms away at the Loretto Tavern.
  • What a wonderful experience! Cozy, warm, stylish and the friendliest hosts!! I would stay a whole week if I could. Thank you! Kisses to Hudson and we will see you soon.

  • Highly recommend Natasha and Sean’s place. I came on my own to write and walk, and was able to do much of both in this beautiful creative place. Thanks so much. Gill

  • Natasha & Sean were absolutely fantastic hosts - friendly, welcoming, and totally accommodating. Sean even offered us a drive at one point so we wouldn't have to take a taxi! The backyard is a great place to hang out and relax (and enjoy a nice bowl of ice cream - thanks Natasha) and the kitchen is absolutely stunning. Hudson the dog also makes you feel very welcome.

  • Travelers, This is hands down my favorite Airbnb of all time. Everything about it was absolutely fantastic, the hospitality of Natasha and Sean, the location and proximity to delicious food and activities, and the accommodations themselves. I could tell how well thought out and designed the spaces were the moment I entered their home. There isn't a single detail they have not thought of! I stayed for a weekend to attend a wedding in the area and the host's had beer and wine available for the guests, encouraged us to a take a dip in the hot tub, and every other thing you could possibly need while staying away from home. I would recommend this location time and time again. If you are lucky enough to secure a reservation, I know you won't regret it! Thank you again to you the wonderful hosts! Sarah

Treat this experience like an off the grid, eco lifestyle journey. Learn about sustainable living and earth friendly architecture while enjoying nature's surroundings in lovely Hockley Valley. Ketchum House was built to be shared as the previous owners opened their doors every year for Earth Day. We are now open everyday and look forward to sharing our passion of sustainable lifestyle education.
The house has two compost toilets, a 9,000 litre underground water reservoir that fills with rain water from the flat roof, a 7 ton brick and ceramic wood fired furnace, an interior gray water filtration system, a natural air cooling and purification system and the most innovative seasonal shading technique on the planet. Hot water is generated through a interior system of pipes and highly conductive fins that naturally heat the water by the sun coming into the main foyer. The hot water rises and fills the tank situated in the master bedroom. In the winter month the fireplace becomes the second source of hot water heading and uses carbon neutral wood. This home is not even connected to the grid so all your energy is created by solar, wind, the land and wood.
Less than five minutes away is a restaurant called Loretto Tavern. This great country saloon is perfect for line dancing or simple country food. Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is 15 minutes away and within the same vicinity is another great restaurant called Mono Cliffs Inn. In the basement there is a quaint pub called Peter Cellars and an amazing personality, Wayne. Hockley Valley resort is less than 15 minutes away and has skiing in the winter, golf in the summer and world class dining and spa facilities. Hockley General Store has a LCBO along with a restaurant for the best breakfast in the area. Both Orangeville and Alliston are only 20 minutes away -

  • Awesome place

    Omii2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot. Comfortable, Clean and Private. We would definitely stay again.

    Tracey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We rented all the rooms for our stay with 7 girlfriends. Natasha was super easy to communicate with She responded very quickly and was very accommodating. Natasha took the time to show me where some great trails were on the maps. She is very knowledgeable about the area and happy to help out and really fun to talk to. The place was exactly as the pictures show. Very nice space. Extremely comfy beds (I got the huge King!). There is no living room, but the kitchen area made for a great space to visit and chat. The hot tub was lovely and private. At first I thought the cleaning fee was a bit steep, but I have honestly never stayed in a place that was that spotlessly clean. We used dishes, pots and pans from the highest shelves in the kitchen and there wasn`t even a speck of dust. So the cleaning fee was 100% worth it! Everyone said we should make this an annual event and come back next year and we definitely plan on it. Thank you Natasha for a wonderful stay!

  • Sean & Natasha’s place is everything you could want. From the communication prior to arrival, the layout, design and decorating of the space to hand written notes around the house, everything has been thought of.

  • Natasha and Sean are great hosts who are extremely easy to communicate with. Their place was spotless and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Had a great time!

    Sukhman2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time - they've thought of everything you would want/need, the kitchen is especially well stocked for anyone who likes to cook. Gorgeous little town in winter, sitting in the hot tub under the stars with gentle snow was magic. Looking forward to going back again!

    Mike2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Above hockley inn was a dream! Everything about the place and the hosts was amazing, right down to the towels they provided! (Seriously, they're so soft) Everyone enjoyed their stay
